>make a new archon and delete the old one from the store
>Delete the combat patrol with it that sold people on the faction and change the base size and equipment so the old one isn't even legal
>Box lock it to an overpriced FOMO box full of 15 year old models at a premium for four months
>The core generic leader unit of the faction, unavailable for purchase
>Release a codex with only two good detachments, both of which REQUIRE you to have an Archon to play
No one is picking up this army unless they already had the old combat patrols GW. You basically fucked yourself on potential new sales. The faction was already stupidly complicated to play as it was and already impossible to buy.

Once upon a time the lore was that the C'tan wanted to basically farm the entire galaxy for food. The war in heaven caused enslavers and all sort of warp abominations to rise up everywhere, and while they didn't really pose a threat to the C'tan and the Necron they were heavily depopulating the other living races, risking to leave the C'tan without food. So they decided to go to sleep to give time for the galaxy to repopulate.

Nta, but expanding on this, Cawl is very openly vocal about NOT wanting to be Fabricator General of Mars. People keep accusing him of wanting to take over the Mechanicus, and every time, his reaction is "Why do people keep saying that??? Why would I ever lock myself to a desk on Mars when I could be cruising the galaxy doing insane shit whenever I want with little to no oversight?"

Ok real talk, no one is going to give you anything close to MSRP for a used army. Building them takes 50% off the value and painting them takes 20% off of that unless you're a Golden Demon winner.

Disagree, I’ve sold a lot of stuff above MSRP value. Part of the trick is meeting the supply demand curve. By that I mean both current meta and what’s out of stock. You’d be surprised what people are willing to pay. However you are right that most of the time stuff will be sold under MSRP.

While GSC just got a token character and a fucking garbage codex as printed, they've gotten a lot of attention over the edition, with plenty of rules update that have put them in a good spot once GW managed to fix their army rule into something not awful (still way worse than their 9th ed rules, but those are the best GW ever made for 40k so eh) and the Final Day detachment is very cool too. Also, in my local scene, Votann are huge, the lgs took in like three times the regular amount of new releases and it all sold out immediately.

Jw runs a very tight ship on their new edition stuff. They announce that stuff long before anything actually goes into production just to prevent any kind of leaks like that. They will announce it 4 months before the edition change in March of 2026 and then show off all of the new models a month later like they do for every edition for the last 10 years. If you really want rampant speculation just to tide over your curiosity, you can find any number of sloptubers willing to throw their opinions out there on what GW should be making.

No, the Imperium has always been too weak to be so picky on what it's local vassals do so long as they ascend the Emperor, pay their taxes, and don't try to rebel.
>>

Which is precisely what makes the Imperium able to liberalize. The first step to liberalizing is having a government weak enough that you can demand rights and freedoms from it.

We have been over this.
The Tau Empire is ruled by Elemental Councils whose members are chosen by merit. The councils also include Kindred Souls, who are delegates from the T'au's allied races, who present the interests of their races and advise the T'au.
In theory, all council members are equal, but in reality, some are the first among equals.

And?

Being chosen by merit doesn't make you not a fascist. If anything it actually makes it more likely since they're not using a democratic method of choosing them but instead deciding who is the most fit to lead.

And them having auxillaries included doesn't mean they're not fascist either. Fascism doesn't have to mean an ethnostate, you can have a fascist state that merely embraces civic nationalism.

Here are some of the main tenets of the T'au Empire
-All alien life is deserving of life. Aliens must be afforded understanding and compassion.
-No capitalism. It's a government-run economy.
-War is the last resort, only to be used when all options are used up.
-Environmentalism is mandated. The T'au seek to limit the harm to the planets they colonize and reach an equilibrium that preserves much of the planet's ecosystem.

Need I say more?

No.

Fascism is a totalitarian, corporatist, imperialist, centralized government system.

It is totalitarian in the sense that every aspect of life is considered the business of the state. This does not mean less freedoms necessarily or a police state. But rather, it means that religion, culture, economics, the press, everything is considered under the purview of the state's interest. There is no separation of public and private life, the state might allow you to say a lot of things but the idea of fundamentally having 'freedom of the press' as a whole doesn't exist since the state must be able to step in to control parts of the press when it's in their interest.

It is corporatist in the sense that both the private business and the unions are brought under the state's purview and interests as well. Private business may be allowed to continue existing, but only insofar as it serves the state's interest. You would not, for example, be allowed to create a patent for a crucial piece of technology and then sell that patent to a foreign country. Your private economic rights end where the state's interest begins.

It is imperialist in the sense that the state always seeks to expand its power and influence. It doesn't necessarily have to involve military conquest, but the state will never be satisfied with just staying stagnant, and you would never see the words 'degrowth' uttered by it. It must grow in power and strength and influence in the world even if it doesn't take a single inch of territory.

And it is centralized. It's not an autonomous collection of states, not a confederacy, not a feudal system like the Imperium. It is one voice, any governors existing under the state do so at the state's leisure and answer to its directives and will.
>>
>>96544082
Imperialism is inherently right-wing, no matter how pretty the language used to justify it.
>>
>>96544080
Yeah, but realistically the SM part of CSM is heavily carried by Bile proactively collecting, maintaining, and experimenting on the Geneseed.
Chaos definitely loves using Space Marines against Space Marines, not just hordes of demons.
Also in fairness it'd be difficult for the Alpha Legion to continue mass infiltrations without maintaining their numbers in the exact same way.

READ:
>The abhorrence. Living, thinking beings over which the True Powers could hold little influence. Resistant to the hated Changer, resistant to the Grandfather of Disease, and resistant to the snares of excess cast by the Dark Prince. Even the Blood God, mightiest of the Ruinous Powers, could not offer them any outlet for their warlike nature that was not provided by their worship of their own brutish gods. The abhorrence proliferated, vermin with an infuriating inability to acknowledge the power of Chaos.

>The wretched aeldari understood that power all too well, for it had broken the civilisation they’d once been so proud of. Now the miserable survivors shied away from the glory of the eight-pointed star like the snivelling, broken whelps they were. They were the last remnants of a dying breed, and even their greatest minds – such as Essenyl Greymoon, the farseer who had banished Te’Kannaroth’s last physical form – were just intelligent enough to know their peril, but lacked the wit to realise that their damnation and destruction had merely been delayed. The metal-skinned husks that had once been the necrontyr also knew of the True Powers, but they were soulless, mindless automata now, worthless to the gods. Even humans, those fleetingly brief sparks of petty malice, could appreciate a small sliver of the majesty of Chaos when it stood before them, as their souls were flayed from their bodies and their minds peeled back from sanity.

>Yet the abhorrence would see only another enemy to fight. Even those amongst them who could bend and shape reality to their will drew that power mainly from the massed latent psychic ability of their kin, not from the raging tempest of the warp. It was as though the glory of Chaos were simply irrelevant to them.

Imotekh is a better general but Silent King has a better body with better AI. Imotekh with the body of SK would shit on the whole galaxy.
>>
>>96544860
They can ascend into energy beings like the Ctan without souls (warp stuff) because the Ctan don’t have them either. Orikan does this temporarily in The Infinite and the Divine.

However he also became like a ctan and seemed to only be able to focus on hunger, much like the Ctan. His old personality faded completely. So it seems like a shitty path
>>
>>96544868
That’s not him sensing the Silent King’s soul in the warp retard, that’s precisely my point. You are a painfully obtuse idiot

Better AI. I think not. The Pariah Nexus book says that the Silent King needs Orikan's help to counter Imotekh's hyperlogical mind.
>>
>>96544859
Imotekh-SK civil war is such an obvious way to nerf Necrons and justify them not winning everything that it feels trite. It'd have been better if this conflict had been established earlier, closer to the great retcon

Once you have a decent number of models, getting a cheapo IKEA glass fronted cabinet is worth it. Feels good to look at your work no matter how many times you look at it.
>>
I've been using PA almost exclusively since trying them out since they're so creamy and smooth but I have to say after doing a tester with TTC's carcharodon grey it airbrushes so much smoother than PA bright neutral grey, the latter always seems to have a little texture to it no matter how much I thin it and how lightly I spray my coats where the former barely needs any thinner and goes on flawlessly
>>
>>96544880
Imotekh intentions of being the ultimate ruler of the Necrons and his hatred of the Silent King have been a thing before the Silent King got a model
>>
>>96544863
Killteam is, simply speaking, small scale 40k. You typically use like ten models tops.
I strongly advise you look into trying it (there should be a dedicated general on /tg/) to check you actually enjoy tabletop wargames in the first place.
>>
Putting together a Chimera, first vehicle I've assembled. The fucking treads will not stay stuck to the body, i hate this thing
>>
Blanks have a mind are blanks corruptible by Vashtorr?
>>
>>96544879
In the Codex it is stated that the Silent King got the best body with the best mind out of every Necron. It is a fact. Maybe Imotekh got an update/patch or something after his awakening but it's most likely his own mind. Necrons have two sets. One is their own and the other AI. Like Trazyn doesn't like to use AI for solving puzzles and enjoys using his own mind to do them even though it takes longer.
>>
>>96544887
No one questions that Necrons have minds. Not having souls is what makes them “undead” and unable to experience emotions like they once did, create art, and so on. They’re like shadows of their former selves. And that’s if they’re lucky the warriors aren’t even that

Only a matter of time till we get an female Necron character model
>>
>>96544902
Lets see what the novels say?

>Voidbringer was strong, much more unyielding than the lesser constructs. And he possessed cunning beyond mere programmed response to attack and external stimulus. The necrons, especially these noble castes, were far from machines. Even artificial intelligence didn’t describe them accurately. They were something else, something vengeful and terrible. Spite, hatred, malice – the emotions were raw and tangible. Tigurius could feel them like tiny blades rubbing against his skin, like acid-edged pins in his mind.

>>
>>96544913
“Like they once did”

It’s like phantom limbs or even like humans trapped in the pariah nexus for too long. You can’t experience emotions in the normal way without a soul. The warp is basically the realm of emotions, beliefs, feelings.

Machine beings can have souls of some kind, we know that from Votann, but Necrons don’t

You know what, I'm not gonna pretend I missed the Indomitus on Calgar.
I may think it's an ugly Termie armor, but I was missing it on him. Now gimme a tolerabks excuse he got it back GW

It'll take me a bit to get the technique down but I'm doing the "car candy red" style with a sparkly paint under a slightly see through red paint. Bronze then Speedpaint Red.

I'm still figuring out things. I just did multiple models because I kept messing with the mixture ratios and I didn't want to waste the paint. (alcohol rinses are just a shake away)

Are there good shooting counter to terminator bricks with Lysander? If not - what is a counter to them?
Same question about Ad.Custodes in general - what's good vs them?

The banner on the new unit is not the largest banner in Warhammer. It's the same size as a banner in AoS.

>>
>>96545574
Yeah looking at the article again, you’ll have left over weapons with Ultramarine iconography, shoulder pads, and at least one helmet (more if you go for the helmet-less look) depending on how build the models. Enough to spruce up any Captain models or Lieutenants if that’s your direction.

The whole Codex is Ultramarine rules. Other chapters were allowed to use them.
Gladius belongs to them.

They have a largely centralised economy run by AIs to efficiently distribute goods. They don't have money, everything is state property.

In fact on border worlds water caste tau like to LARP in market economics by running shops and stands, as a hobby, as described in elemental council
>>
>>96543305
Eh? I count five
>>
>>96545794
aw that sucks. Corps are a pretty big thing for developing mechs, but with tau being so reliant on AI im gonna assume they just fallback on some sure fire design rather than try and fall back on human-or rather tau personalized innovation.
>>
So is Abaddon also getting a new model since he and Calgar both got theirs at the same time?

>Corps are a pretty big thing for developing mechs
Unless the mechs are being developed by a highly centralised authoritarian state that directly runs its own weapon development programs, in which case the corps are pretty unnecessary.
>>
>>96543305
can you even count? those are 4
