not officially but there is nothing saying you can't use one as an Agent with the giant chainsword
>>
>>96564375
Yes, they were an option in the Witchseeker's codex back in 3E. The only reason they don't have a way of being in Agents armies is because they got stapled to Custodes because they needed a not custodes subfaction to actually be able to play the game. It's the same reason Wardogs exist.
>>
alright I'm about halfway through building my Eldar Combat Patrol and I'm still not set on what Craftworld to paint them as. I'm leaning Biel-Tan but I'm still very open to pitches for the others.

Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Black Templars, Ultramarines or a Successor Chapter based on Ultramarines (Roman Aesthetic)?

When you go successor chapter how do you handle special characters and units like Victrix, Calgar, Guilliman etc. ? Do you snap off the Ultra logo or do you just paint them in your scheme?

Yeah I'm leaning that way, though I got a paint scheme and chapter symbol for a ultramarine successor ready but it would be weird to have my dudes insignia and then ultramarine sculpted insignia on the armor. One anon suggested that the Ultramarines within my dudes could be just mentors for a new chapter but then again having the coolest part of /my dudes/ be Ultramarines is kinda lame. Why not commit at this point and go Ultra...

>special units like Victrix
There is nothing stopping successors from having the same command structure as the Ultramarines, and I would expect Ultramarine successors to emulate their genetic sire chapter since they are autistic like that.
>snap off
I know at least a few ultra successors have the ultra logo plus their special spin on it.
>others
I think the DA and BA specifically have their successors organized according to the same command structure, since the Rock and inner circle have power over the DA successors, while the sanguine brotherhood is also a close knit organization.
The BT are a successor themselves, ironically it should be loreful for IF to have knightly helmets like in 30k with the Huskarls since apparently this is where the BT knightly theme came from but IF in 40k got stripped of this flavour for some reason.

Swolves have not had many successors and only primaris magic made them capable of it, the "successors" were actually their grand companies which have 200-500 guys on average and have their own sub-fluff.

Personally, I have thought of getting some sw stuff and running a khornate Wolf Brothers warband.

Yeah he's a hypocrite, which is why he's an interesting character. He was a hypocrite as the legate, then fell and became a different kind of hypocrite as the burned man. They didn't put a genuine Christian, Daniel, in there by accident. It was to contrast.

He's still really fucking cool and his way is better for material survival of the tribes in the long run, but spiritually he's completely off the reservation and is not redeemed.

I wouldn't want the frogs to be clones of the fantasy faction but their motivations and aesthetic and theming could all be very different to the current factions while also not lore breaking. >The Lost and the Damned
Mixed Traitor Guard, Darkmech and cultists. GW could release this army right now with only a conversion sprue and a few extra HQs (traitor general, dark techpriest, psyker witch) to round out a book that uses pre-existing kits (the guard vehicle pool and CSM daemon engines, everything with the Damned keyword from CSM as the infantry baseline, and maybe throw in tzaangors, poxwalkers and jakhals for god rep).
It would be so easy, but GW will never do it because they fear kits being used for multiple armies.

>Corsairs
The KT kit is already versatile as all hell. It could reasonably be split into even more datasheets, a 5-10 elf melee squad, a 5-10 elf shooting squad, and the 10 man all the marbles elite unit. Add in a jump pack unit that references the old FW one, a vehicle that can be built as either a transport or a heavy weapon platform, and a couple of HQs to lead. Could also let them use the CWE ranger units, that would fit with their fluff as I recall.
According to the fatman, they're already on the way :v)

>Thyrrus
Coolest background xenos in the setting. They'd need to come up with a whole army roster, but army rules based on fighting for artistic spectacle more so than any rational objectives would be great fun.
>>
Given that they will keep bringing back primarchs no matter what, which done do you think would be the most kino?

No, the art was created with the express purpose of showing minor xenos species that exist in the universe but don't have any representation in the novels or miniatures. The stated goal was to make it clear that what we as the audience know about is not *everything* that is supposed to exist, that the galaxy is a much "wider" place.
Thus the xenos species portrayed do not have names, they were created just for this art piece.

No, Guilty Spark lines in the first game implying that he knew Master Chief in the past. Later explained away by rampancy, then again by 343 coming up with retarded 'gene song' nonsense

I’m envisioning them as being really weird and eldritch so I don’t think that would be the problem. Old depictions of angels are extremely weird, it’s all eldritch things with hundreds of eyes.

My concern is more that it is kinda honing in on chaos’ shtick too much. It would really work better just have a couple of these models in an existing imperial faction

No, it was at Two Betrayals
> "Last time, you asked me, if it were my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed."
Cortana and Chief heard from 343 Guilty Spark himself that the last time the Halo Rings were fired, Chief was physically with him the entire time. Given the Rings were fired long before humanity evolved and the fact that they eliminate all sentient life means it would be millions of years ago minimum for goop to evolve into humanity, this means Chief was present for an event at least predating all human history. This was a massive bombshell that our protagonist is old enough to do that. But the writers couldn't handle such a huge lorebomb and just forgot about it.

For most xenos humans are the ultimate bad guy, which is funny. They never see tyranids or chaos or whatever but humans are violent genociders and are everywhere

Well humans and orks

>'gene song'
That sounds like the whole recurrent hero thing Bungie tried back when Halo had connections to Marathon like how there's this single recurring galactic hero. Fan theories like https://bungie.fandom.com/wiki/Bungie_Mythos propped up.
>>
>>96565412
I kind of always assumed Guilty Spark just didn't differentiate between "reclaimers". So he spoke to Master Chief as if he was the same person from before.
>>
>>96565407
Nothing is stopping you from kitbashing though?
>>
>>96565412
tbqhwy that sounds more like it implies time travel and a closed loop or something like that.
>>
>>96565411
Sisters would remain the best option. Like a unit of sisters who are on their knees praying and a creature that's just arms and wings is being miraculously brought onto the battlefield to save them.
>>
>>96565435
It very well could have been, basically nothing about the forerunners was nailed down until Halo 3 and even then not really. The original ending to Halo 2, which was mostly only scrapped due to time constraints, was a reveal that humans and forerunners were the same species.
>>
>>96565419
>Well humans and orks
Well, those guys ARE dicks.
>>
>>96565445
The funny thing is that was my 'lore' from the time I finished halo 3 in 2007 until 2024 when I read the wiki and found out that halo 4 and 5 are absolutely horrendous.
>>
>>96565431
If so then he doesn't see any contradiction between this new reclaimer surviving that many years. No
>Dude, how did you survive? Normally people die of old age by now.
which implies he sees no problem with reclaimers having well beyond any human lifespan. He also sees no problem with a reclaimer surviving the Rings sterilizing all life either. But knowing it's Guilty Spark, I bet basic knowledge and common sense is tucked somewhere in the data file he tucked the
>How to Laser Attack: Helping a Reclaimer through the most dull and monotonous level in Halo CE
file he rediscovered in Halo 3 offscreen.

It seems a lot more simple to assume he just means that by 'you' he means humans in collective general (remembering of course that humans are forerunner).
>>
>>96565433
James will send his goons after me.
>>
>>96565412
To me, 'you' refers to the human species, given that humans are forerunner in non-343 lore.

That is such a retarded reading that I can't even comprehend. Human beings naturally live that long?

I've fought off three James goons this week alone, it's fine man. Just hit them with your car.

After everything that's happened under the disastrous 343 era I hope it all just gets retconned and the studio closed. Maybe someone new can take a shot at a sequel in 20 years, but no who's written a single word of lore in the past decade and a half can be allowed to work on it.

They changed it by 2
>>
>>96565460
How in the absolute fuck did you get that out of what I said?
A human asked before, millinos of years ago. Now a human is here again and the question has come back up.
"Last time, (humans) asked me, if it were my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder (humanity's) query, my answer has not changed."
>>
>>96565452
With all of the lore knowledge from Halo 2/3 and beyond this makes sense, but none of this context existed when CE came out. The most reasonable interpretation at the time would've been that he is speaking specifically about Chief
>>
I get the weird urge to murder every Bungie employee down to the janitors every time I think of Halo Reach for some reason.
>>
>>96565477
In hindsight we didn't know how good we had it
>>
>>96565475
Not really? Chief was written as a child, taken from his home by the UNSC spooks to be made into a super soldier. First Halo novel went into detail and was published alongside the video game.
>>
>>96565471
>A human asked before, millinos of years ago. Now a human is here again
And he sees every human being as the same. Even this anonymous mongonian site doesn't do that. It's abundantly obvious anyone who he spoke to would be long dead if that was true.

They weren't literally alive back then. Humanity were the species remnants of the forerunner, kept alive in The Ark (I don't have to tell you what that name implies) on earth. They repopulated as savages, without remembering their past. 343 retconned that so they could tell an ancient evil awoke story in 4, the hacks that they are.
>>
>>96565477
Is that because of them adding sprint, or because you're a bookfag that doesn't like the retcons?
Depending on the answer you're either a perfectly reasonably gentleman or a subhuman that ought to be sent to a camp.
>>
>>96565484
I know, but the most plausible sounding explanation would be something to do with time travel. There are a lot of lines that portray the ring as some otherworldly place that seems artificial, as if it existed outside of time.
>>

I don't like the depiction of bolters full-auto blazing like uzis
>>

More like gaylo reacharound.

There was no original vision. Bungie only cared about money. They care more about bagels for breakfast than much else. They had 0 plans for the Forerunners besides being background or maybe an uplifted race from the Precursors which were thought of way back in CE if you followed the devs twitter like I have. You are Bungie fanboys desperate to avoid blaming Bungie so you accused 343. Fuck Halo 2's ending. Fuck
Halo 3 onward. It's all trash beside Wars.
>>
>>96565504
They are automatic weapons though
>>
>>96565506
halo wars has a worse story than halo 4
>>
>>96565484
Bungie always hated Fall of Reach and excitedly retconned it even though they referenced it. The difference between Bungie and GW is the former is even less competent.
>>
>>96565501
Someone post that schizo's picture, the elden ring one where both GW and Bungie are the same. I don't have it saved but someone must.
>>
>>96565507
but they fire like THUK THUK THUK not BRRRT
Only double barrel weapons like storm bolters and combi-bolters fire quicker
>>
>>96565470
No they didn't. The only reference to the nu-lore pre 343 was a single halo 3 terminal written last minute by Frank O'Conner, who was one of the very few to go on to work at 343 and shit out their abominations. Contact Harvest is very explicit in the humans=forerunner stuff.
>>
>>96565506
>Fuck Halo 2's ending. Fuck Halo 3 onward.
I agree somewhat but
>It's all trash beside Wars.
Carry on. I agree with this fully
>>
>>96565492
NTA but that is beyond stupid. Might as well entrust our tech to apes.
>>
>>96565517
no, they're reclaimers, not forerunners
the prophets learn that humans are the ones to inherit the galaxy from the forerunners and that's what they go to lengths to cover up in that book
