Professionally graded and sealed cards.
>>
>>96579622
Said person traded in 126 cards graded by PSA for $3,095 in GameStop store credit. The grading would have cost approximately $2,500 at minimum.

Selling anything to Gamestop is insane. They give like 10% value, and in store credit.
The guy probably lost out on $27,000, and anyone who actually got those cards graded would have known how bad an idea going to Gamestop was.
I'm guessing his brother died, likely by suicide after blowing hundreds of thousands of dollars on pokemon cards, and this guy grabbed the boxes of cards and went to get them liquidated in the dumbest way imaginable.
>>
>>96579679
Yeah, people actually pay to have cards graded and sealed to never be used again since cards are seen as an asset by them rather than fucking cardboard.

The pawn shop business model is effectively taking on the risk and the cost of storing, stocking, and selling something that might never sell. When GameStop ends up sitting on 500 copies of Madden 202X every fucking year, and then eventually has to sell them for 5$ a piece, and then eventually just dumpster them, that their loss to eat. In the same way that they will ultimately take a loss in excess of what they paid this fat retard for his children's card game cards.

All the same, fuck GameStop and fuck their bullshit trade ins, but also fuck anyone stupid enough to still go to GameStop and sell their valuables to a place they know has always ripped people off. It must have taken the employees hours of manually entering each and every card in that pile and I guarantee you they got more than a few wrong and probably gave that dumb fuck even less money than he deserved.

You'd think that if you were under the impression that those graded cards actually had value, but they don't.

How hard is it to make fake pokémon cards? I have a notion.
>>
>>96580109
It's extremely difficult because they use a special foil only manufactured in Nippon.
>>
>>96580109
Idk there's probably a Villa Zheng for Pokemon but you're not making counterfeits that pass any level of test.
>>
>>96580174
folded over 1,000 times?

why didnt he just list them on ebay?

Wouldn't just selling stuff online yield more profit albeit while taking a longer time?
>>
>>96582480
