I went to a prerelease event friday night and it was actually good. The set is small and simple enough that playing with the cards in limited wasn't daunting, and the theme was actually humorous at times. My LGS was surprisingly packed and it was a great night. Has anyone else had a surprisingly positive experience with the spiderman MTG set so far?
>>96584009Be less obvious, shill.
>>96584009Nice to hear you had a good time.
>>96584092I was only planning on going Ironically, I preregistered the day before when there were only 4 seats left, and it was actually a good time. I'm hearing constantly that this set is bad for limited but I thought that it was actually pretty good with only five play types and pretty simple mechanics. I'm interested as to how the pick-two draft will be
>>96584009>Has anyone else had a surprisingly positive experienceI quit this gay game for gays long ago
>>96584120I think it's simpler because WOTC is trying to get kids to play the game again instead of just adults who are eventually going to have other priorities. May be good for the game over all, even if it isn't true to it's roots. I'm also all in favor of MTG getting back to being simpler, the rules text of alot of cards from Eternities was approaching yugioh levels of complicated bulllshit.
>>96584169What cards? I found the EoE cards extremely simple. Half the set was fucking Landfall, the simplest most braindead mechanic ever invented
>>96584197Playing from exile with warp and station were a bit fucked imo. Spiderman set is back to basics simple
>>96584197Also maybe not EOE, but I didn't have such a great time with that set so that's what came to mind. MTG has been getting more and more ridiculous with it's power creep, and while not yet at full blown yugioh levels I think the spidey set toning it back a few notches is a step in the right direction.
>>96584009 (YOU)OP, your LGS was empty last night except for you, meds now.
>>96584009Mike morales brought in the negroes. Into my hobby. It is over it is soo damn over.Fucking spiderman theme, out of all the things. I haven't stood this near to black people in years
>>96584259Maybe if you go to the draft nights they'll sell you some weed so you can chill the fuck out and just enjoy the game.
>>96584367I am a short, skinny and weak person. I get easily scared. Even science says every ethnic group is wary of the others. Just biology. So yes, getting scared of black people is normal. And They hate me, because I am white and weak. Lgs is my only safespace. Fucking reeeeee.
>>96584412Maybe your just a bitch, friday night magic has to be like the least likely place for shit to go down in the history of shit going down.
>>96584460Not likely but not zero chance. My friend got mugged in front of a lgs. An old smelly creep once grabbed my butt during one of those magic fridays. Stop bullying me.
>>96584124holy fuck i knew this game was gay but that is legit satanic shit. fuck MTG come play sorcery contested realm it is based and has christian themes.
>>96584678>christcuckeryEven worse then gay shit
>>96584686judens hate christ usually
When this WotC faggotry will die? I hate current MTG so fucking much…
>remembered my brother had a card with a really cute girl on it>absolute cutest girl I had ever seen>couldnt remember the name for ages>stumbled across it while browsing scryfall>mfw its a fucking boy
>>96584724try sorcery contested realm its like old magic
>>96584686>disliking satanists makes you a christianlolDoes disliking muslims make you buddhist or something?
>>96584727what was the card? let us judge you
>>96584752I couldnt read the flavor text
>>96584727The most beautiful girl in a magic card has "Protection from Black", cycling and is from Urza's block.
>>96584767ITS A TRAP
>>96584009Hiiii, it's mtggirl on the new thread, so this urza guy is the protagonist? also your all just jk about playing magic at lgs right? I was hoping to meet some really cool people with the same hobby ;(
>>96584852No, Urza is just like Rick Martinez from Rick & Morty. Gerrard is the protagonist, he is like dark Morty flying in a space ship to other planes picking mcguffins to save the universe.
>>96584009I just want the "Hot Dog Cart" card for my edh deck.
>>96584852mtggirl, while the claims of the rampant sexual assault that you will experience at FNM may have been exaggerated in the last thread, be aware that alot of the the men there do not have regular interactions with women, so it could be a bit awkward. Bring air freshener.
>>96584832hmmmmmmmmmnigga stole my bike?
>>96584767the question is, does the dick actually ruin it if the rest of him matches the face?
>>96584871I pulled a foil hot dog cart and a Gwenom in one of the packs I won at my prerelease last night, she actually seems like she would make a strong commander.
>>96584894Lucky.
My beloved wife.
>>96584092If you just want everyone on the site to have the same opinion you may as well just talk to yourself and save us all the headache>>96584009I enjoyed it. There was also more consistency to decks due to the smaller set size. This as well as Wraith won me every game I won. Went 2-1
>>96584906Is that an actual fair skinned Caucasian from the mountains of Caucasess white woman in a Magic the Niggering card??Truly as rare as a unicorn these days. What a sight to behold.
>>96584906Exile your wife and summona 3/3 ape
>>96584852Magic has been through quite a bit in terms of story, but in the big picture>Starts with no protagonist (Urza is "the mythical guy that messed everything up by going to war with his brother and changed the world forever" more than the protagonist of original sets)>Gerrard and crew with the Weatherlight Saga, which was either amazing or terrible depending on who you ask>Jace and crew form the not-planeswalker avengers, which is also either awesome or terrible depending on who you ask. The four big story phases are Ravnica, Eldrazi, Bolas and New Phyrexia>MTG most recently has started importing other universes like Walking Dead, Lord of the Rings and Spider-Man, and there's really no telling what's going on anymore.Sometimes you can find a cool group of people at your LGS, but it really depends on where you're at. Just go one night and see what's up. Good luck>>96584259>>96584412You've got this all wrong, anon>Go to LGS>Meet black MTG and yugioh players>Be cool and find out if any of them have sisters>Get with one of them, and tell them that you met their brother when you went to the LGS on Friday night looking for "black girl magic">Lose virginity>Start going to the gym>Start buzzing down your facial hair to a 1 with a foil razor and wearing white t-shirts>Prepare to spend a significant amount of money buying her weed>Become a man, quit being a little bitch, and escape the cycle of samsarat. has 5 dots in Black Girl Magic
>>96584169>adults who are eventually going to have other prioritiesThe adults who would actually get their lives together and stop dumping hundreds to thousands of dollars on cardboard left Magic years ago. The playerbase is a bunch of near to/actually middle-aged millennials and gen xers and some zoomers. Younger players aren't interested in Magic, the game is way too expensive for them to get into, the art and settings suck (not even UB has fixed this problem), and the game's RNG reliance on drawing land for mana is an archaic and extremely shit system that's been left in the dust by newer tcgs and younger players have no desire to commit to such an outdated boomer way of playing cards.Spiderman and all other capeshit is thoroughly the province of 25+ year old manchildren.
>>96584852>>96584875It's not an even gender distribution by any means, but there are always at least a handful of women at my local LGSs.But not ones like this poster. She sounds like "labubu keychain on bedazzled phone case, painted nails, 15 minutes late with an oversweetened starbucks pumpkin spice matcha latte, yaaaaaaas."She'll stick out like a sore thumb. The question of how they'll react to that is entirely based on who they are. An invader, a poser, an easy mark, a nuisance, an oddity, a curiosity, a fascination, an opportunity, a goddess, a triviality. The averaged reaction will be nonplussed maybe slightly leary, but I wouldn't put it past exactly two (and everyone there will know exactly who) to potentially try something of some kind of attention you don't want.>>96584852>so this urza guy is the protagonist? In the early sets, at the very least he's a prominent figure.A better description would be morally questionable old man inventor. The phyrexians he spends a lot of the time fighting are pretty much unequivocally evil, but I wouldn't say Urza is a hero. Ending a civil war with your brother by nuking both your armies, as well as the entire continent they were standing on, causing centuries of nuclear winter is not typically seen as a hero move™.
You bought this garbage your opinion is discarded. Jesus how pathetic can you be to support hasbro. What are you fucking retarded?
>>96584767looks underage, big hell no my guy
>>96584367>just enjoy itno.
>>96584259>>96584412>>96584460anon's absolutely right you're a bunch of pussybitches>>96585116This guy knows what's up though. Black girls are used to black men, so they're super easy to impress by just like, having a job and being respectful. He's right about the stubble and the gym though, if you don't make sure you're as masculine as the competition you will end up getting cheated on with some no-account thug.>>96584667Have you tried not being such a breedable little twink?
>>96585295the best traps always are i'm afraid.that said, it sounds like anon might have been underage himself at the original time of his crush.
