Its of AoS, lore-wise isn't really applicable beyond the thinest layer. Asethetic is the best you can hope for unless you are very basic. They very much wanted the game to be MtG the boardgame with mixing and matching cards/models in a deck/army regardless of setting. They wanted to go back to why warhmmer was started in the first place which is so people can (buy from them) and use any mini they have in battle and come up with their own narrative or not if they care about it. That was their mission statement with the thing; sell more plasic by tearing up complicated lore. The funny thing is that it being a tabletop product the designers and players just didn't accept the wholey faction free boardgame aspect of it. They will get there though when they AoS AoS.

I know AoS is straying away quite a bit from the dark fantasy-ish aesthetic of the original WH fantasy but people being ugly was the norm back than. Hell I would go as far as to say we see too many pretty people these days, Dante wrote over 500 poems for Beatrice in like the mid renaissance iirc inspite seeing her like 4 times in his life when he was a teen (and being married while writing said poems for the rest of his life) not because he was madly in love but because a naturally good looking bad bitch, no makeup and whatnot is a rare once in a lifetime blessing. Anyone here who's had experiences living in or lives in a more rural smalltown would know something close to that. Also GW can't sculpt faces much less so female ones, hell I can even hardly find STLs who do the job justice

The appeal for me is making my own dudes, like it has been forever.Although saying that, the older I get the more I try to replicate codex schemes. Keeps the nostalgia alive I think.
