>I want GW to bring back Mordheim/BFG/WarmasterWhat is fucking WRONG with these people? Why do they WANT to be sold something they can download a 40-90 page PDF of, and have it turned into a neverending spiral of £40 expansion books, deliberate obsolescence and tinkering from underpaid soimale design staff who can't hold a candle to the OGs?
>>96600073Because you have an ichy ass.
I don't really get the hype. I've tried playing some old GW games (Block Mania and Chainsaw Warrior) and they were unbalanced as hell. Maybe the minis are better but I doubt it.
Dead is better.Every single "reboot" by GW has been in name only gutting of the old game.
>>96600073I'd like more people playing Mordheim overall. Normally I have to drive hours to play the OG one. With a rerelease, there'd be more sculpts and players to convince to try the OG as well.
>>96600073I can see how GW could fuck up a Mordheim release or a Battle Fleet Gothic rerelease, but I'm not sure how they could screw up Warmaster
>>96600835Tbqh Mordheim doesn't even need sculpts. There's plethora of fitting dark fantasy minis on the market already.
>>96600835I'm playing a campaign right now and desu I got bored of it. It's flaws irk me way too much to let them slide, and playing against a ranged-focussed warband is extremely frustrating: I want street fights, I don't want to jump from cover to cover and hide for 90 minutes. It's exactly the same reason why I despise Necromunda.Gorkamorka's pretty cool, however.
>>96600073I just want Mordheim but AoS. Basically give me Necromunda but AoS. I'm a simple man. WarCry is fine but I want something meatier.
>>96600986Battlefleet gothic would be instantly scrued just because GW would make it Gayus Heressy only like legions imperialis. Warmaster automatically scrued because it would be Age of sigmar only and with a random scale like 16 or 13mm
>>96601411Age of sigmar is dumb.
>>96601471Suppose Battlefleet Gothic ended up being a Heresy Era game due to being run by specialist games, which was a rumour a couple of years back. In that case, it stands to reason a new version of Warmaster would be set in TOW, since that's also a specialist game.
>>96601540Not really, horus heresy exists for two reasons. Being a space marine gay party for the most space marine obsessed people. Being an excuse to make games with 1 or 2 factions at most so less catalog to sustain. The old world has too many factions for that so the age of sigmar slop is quite probable.
>>96601477Kys fag.
>>96601567AOS has lots of factions too. More than WHFB, in fact, since they broke the original armies up in tons of hyperspecific forces.
>>96600073NuNecromunda is good. Also I don't care about the WFB setting at all and would prefer a game using the wacky AoS setting.
>>96600116Mordheim is unbalanced as well, a large part of the fun is the campaign and the shit that happens to your dudes on the way. However if GW remade Mordheim today all that would change in that respect is that the imbalance would be much more deliberate and planned, to get you to buy the newest broken shit.
>>96601567AoS has the most factions of all GW games, and that's with retarded amalgam tomes keeping barely related forces together, so a true number is even greater
>>96601477And water is wet.
>>96601567So you missed my point entirely then, which was Speshiulist games and GW mainline studio have different IPs they make games for and as such don't interact. Specialist Games makes games for HH and TOW, and GW Studio makes AoS and 40k Games, and there will never be any crossover.
>>96601358>playing against a ranged-focussed warband is extremely frustratingThis is entirely your fault for having no terrain, obviously Van Saar or the Mordheim equivalent are gonna slap your shit if you set up like you would for 40k.Your table should be absolute minimum 50 or 60% covered, preferably more and with 2+ level of verticality
Warmaster is absolutely fantastic and it sucks that it failed and got killed off. But it's okay, the fans have taken it upon themselves to carry the torch and they've probably done a better job than GW would've
>>96600835that's an area issue and i'm sorry anon.I bus like 2 hours away to play it but we got some good fucking tables.but you don't want that, you wouldn't be playing Mordheim reallyyou'd be playing Mordheim (with updated rules)and these rules are likely just close enough but worse, especially given the fact that GW doesn't really support that sort of campaign rule-set anymore, it's too punitive, and the complexity will be smoothed over.and the old fan resources would be shut downand all the new people will be playing the new, slightly worse version of the game and in 3 years you'll be buying an even more frustrating version of the game that over-corrects on a bunch of niggles people had but breaks a whole bunch of things nobody wanted fixed and doesn't address many of the main concerns.I would however kill for someone mixing battlecompanies and Mordhiem that sounds fun as shit.>>96601358>i don't want to hideplay on a dense table then. add in the gunpowder rulesraise the cost of slings and give them the dagger rulesboom, 90% of all issues with ranged factions done.trust me, rolling that 1 on a blackpowder weapon and having a dwarf KO'd because of it sucks.
>>96603905I don't have a huge amount of terrain, but I have enough to reach 60%-ish. I'm missing a bit on the verticality part, as everything only has 2 floors. Some of the guys I play with have a metric ton of terrain, so much so that 75-80% of the table is covered. The thing is that I absolutely fucking despise having to move from cover to cover while not sticking out my head for even a second, lest everything I hold dear be annihilated in a single shooting phase.>Lmao just play a shooting warband No. Almost all the factions I actually like are melee-based, and apparently the retards that designed the game have decided that the only way I can bring my khornate marauders or my orcs to the enemy is wasting 4 turns slowly running from building to building and climbing up to reach the campers armed with crossbows. What's worse is that armor is fucking useless in Mordheim. At least in necromunda there's some chance that it won't be negates by a random-ass critical hit.I can only enjoy this game when playing against armies that only have 1/4 or so of their models armed with ranged weapons. I'm perfectly fine with having a few ranged fighters here and there, but playing against Reikland or fucking Nuln is a travesty. At least the Undead have Dire Wolves and the Vampire, both of whom are fast as fuck, so they have a CHANCE at actually reaching the enemy.
>>96604029Warmaster being abandoned by GW is a blessing.
>>96604042>add in the gunpowder rulesOh, my. It would be an awesome idea, were it not for the fact that Nuln ignores them on a 3+, and that for some retarded reason my group decided to apply them only to "experimental" weapons like repeater handguns.
>>96604113>nulnso your entire group is Nuln?we haven't had many true blue human players here, play with weather too, i suggest trying to encourage people to try lustria>>96604090>The thing is that I absolutely fucking despise having to move from cover to cover while not sticking out my head for even a second, lest everything I hold dear be annihilated in a single shooting phase.bro, it's like a shooting phase with a move or fire weapon. how good is the terrain, if you have two story buildings and you're still getting shot?also if you're running scatter terrain you should be able to just hide, but that depends on how your group handles hiding.in my group shooting sucks shit because someone will move into a building and just hide, good luck mr dorf, your i2 means you can't see shit.how many games are you playing where you have to run to them firs-fuck it, here's the answer to literally all your problems:https://mordheimer.net/docs/warbands/grade-1a-warbands/skaven-eshinNO I DON'T MEAN SLING SPAM. Take infiltrator, take wall runner when you can, art of silent death is fucking good as hell.get up into people's faces, hit them with the 5+ crits. you run 12 inches when not march blockedws4 and s4 starting heroes with i5.cheaper and better than elves IMO>What's worse is that armor is fucking useless in Mordheimconsider upping the armour pen threshold. i mean you're already likely rocking lucky talismans across your whole squad anyway
>>96601411I'd take an aos warmaster actually
>>96604323>so your entire group is Nuln?Thankfully no, but I played way too many games with the nuln guy.>how good is the terrain, if you have two story buildings and you're still getting shot?I'm getting shot because I actually need to reach the bastards, I can't just stay hidden for the whole game, and I don't want to do that either.>also if you're running scatter terrain you should be able to just hideYes, but can't hide after running, and if I have to spend the whole game hiding under a pile of bricks with my fucking khornate marauders, then there's a problem.>in my group shooting sucks shit because someone will move into a building and just hideYes, but that guy won't be able to do shit if he wants to keep being hidden. And if an enemy models moves in a way that the thing you're hiding behind can't conceal you anymore, you stop being hidden. This last thing is perfectly reasonable, but it means that even a 1 I guy can spot you, if he's positioned properly.>how many games are you playing where you have to run to them firs-Against shooting armies? Every single one. Against everything else, it's pretty much a 50/50, although I do tend to play aggressively, since I usually play bands with very limited shooting options.>Skaven Someday I'll play them, but not now. And again, I want to be able to play the warbands I really like.>consider upping the armour pen threshold.I can propose the change, but it's absolutely not guaranteed to actually happen.>i mean you're already likely rocking lucky talismans across your whole squad anywayThat's another thing I dislike: some items are so good they're mandatory, others are literally unusable. Also, this is unrelated to the game itself, as it's about fan content, but who to the fuck is the retard that designed the Black Dwarves army? The Engine of chaos costs WAY too much for what it offers.
