Does you're character battle with intrapersonal conflict?
Does you're?
>>96600850I'm currently the only player in the party who isn't a mellowdramatic edgelord, so no.
>>96601101
>>96601116You sound like a fag
Yeah my lawful good cleric is trying to be a Martin Luther without causing any major conflicts that lead to mass deaths. The growing realization this may not be possible is something that he keeps pushing down and trying to ignore
>>96600850Yeah, all of them. Its not worth playing a character unless they have some kind of fucked up internal conflict. Thats the part that makes roleplaying the character INTERESTING. I don't want to just play a nameless, mindless fightbot walking through dungeons. I want to play a guy whose family thinks he died in a shipwreck and he can never go home because he doesn't want them to ever see the man he has become. I want to play a deeply confused teenage mecha pilot who internalized her father's extremely misogynistic ranting after their mother left them and he drank himself to death, and now she violently rejects anything that she has classified as "whore behavior". I want to play a superhero who's defining motivation in all things is a truly staggering amount of pride, such that what other people consider to be an iron will and determination is just them refusing to stay down in a fight because they refuse to let anyone else see them look weak.
>>96600850How about you OP? Played any games recently?
My main game is Traveller so the character creation process is going to decide whether I have any past trauma my character is dealing with. Last one was a war hero pilot dealing with survivors guilt and dealing with the weight of his decisions

Wasn't this thread created yesterday and then pruned by the jannies within 10 minutes ?
>>96605379Obviously not.
>>96605379>>96605502Yes it was because people immediately started spamming it with the following replies>yes>no>maybe >I don't know >can you repeat the question
>>96605512Obviously not.
>>96604198That's quite a thing to say out of nowhere. Do you need to talk about it?
>>96600850Honestly, it depends on the character and if it even comes up. I have a warlock in 5e spelljammer thats pretty much just captain tyler, but over the course of the game has come to realise that he's only captain of the ship cause A) The bard, who probably would have been captain left to go fix the space elves and B) The fighter who is pretty much the party leader cant physically sit in the seat. But it never really came up drama wise as of yet. So he's just content to stand next to fighter when he talks cause the man has absolutely zero charisma despite looking like a mandalorian. My 2e Triggerbrand Gunslinger though, He's basically Solid Snake who, due to his upbringing, has no clue how emotions work so he's constantly battling between what he thinks he wants, what he ACTUALLY wants and whats the most rational thing to stay alive. Bro has started using "Need to pay rent" as an code for "I wanna go home and see my friend who i still need to figure out if im in love with or not", its kind of hilarious. He's hopelessly in love with her, he just doesnt know it and is terrified.
