>>96601139Nothing. I'm not a fat fuck who needs food in constantly in his mouth and don't want food laden spit or sticky greasy fingers fucking up my expensive rulebooks. We play for a few hours, break to eat a meal like civilised people, then continue afterwards with the game.
>>96601531You seem like a bit of a pleb.
>>96601139Massive bottle of water most the hunger is actually just thirst, if I need anything its a small chocolate bar such as a Wispa or a Twix
>>96601531You sound like you lost weight. Since I got /fit/ I feel exactly the same. It disgusts me now when I host game night and have to lay out food for my fat friends to munch on like dogs. It used to be hslf the fun
>>96601139I just have an energy bar and a bottle of water ready
>>96601139I usually cook for my ttrpg roundsBolognese, pesto pasta, shepherd's pie, risotto, curries, etc.Sometimes one of my players bakes
>>96601139Two of us split a pizza for dinner and the rest each bring a snack or some drinks for the rest of the night. It's been the ritual for like a decade at this point. Occasionally the snacks are home-made, which is a treat, but usually it'll be cookies or chips or something. This Anon talking about home-cooked meals on game night is making me super jealous >>96602227
>>96601139Fat Warhammer and MtG players make me laugh. How are you so pathetic that you can't even play a game without stuffing your face?
>>96601139It's an evening session so we have dinner, then game. During the game it's just hydration, but we might have a dessert we leave til mid-session if it's a convenient eat (cakes, cookies or a little pudding thingy).
>>96601139Chex mix exists exclusively for when I'm in the passenger seat on a road trip and I want combos but the store has no combos.Fuck chex mix.Anyways, I wish people brought those vegetable platter things more often. The current group just brings pizza and peanut M&Ms and pretzel sticks and I don't like eating more than a little of that because of how salty and sugary it is. I want ranch dressing and peanut butter and celery sticks dammit. It's my own fault for not bringing that stuff though so what can you do.Back when I cared about life I would cook chili or bolognase or stew or something for the group and we would have that at the halfway point of the game. That was cool.
>>96603680Based. Carrots and hummus are a top tier snack. Throw some sweet hot sauce like sriracha on there it's like veggie crack.
Most of the time we don't eat. Sometimes I chew gum when I'm not the GM.The rare occasions we do have something, it's stuff like cookies, chips, peanuts, soda, and beer.If we decide to get pizza or a burger it's always after the session.
I don't eat while playing games. At most I'll bring a water bottle if I'm going to be there for a while. >>96601531Indeed. There is quite literally no excuse for being fat outside of some sort of mental disorder that causes you to keep shoveling food down your gullet regardless of how full your stomach is.
>>96603709>If we decide to get pizza or a burger it's always after the session.Like, when the burger joint opens in the morning? I refuse to believe anyone can have a proper game session that ends before 2am at the earliest.
>>96601139I like any food that doesn't make you feel all greasy skinned. There's nothing worse than having to sit for hours with greasy skin from chips and pop and fatty take out food.
>>96603887>make you feel all greasy skinned. There's nothing worse than having to sit for hours with greasy skinThe fuck? Work on your mental illness.
>>96604049No, he's talking about a real thing. He's talking about a condition called "being a slimey wop". I'm afraid it's terminal.
>>96601139These "what do you eat while gaming" threads always astound me with the amount vitriol they inspire. I just don't understand it. The association between food and gaming has been universal as far as my experience of the hobby and I've never seen anyone react negatively in the way people do here. I don't know if it's some unique form of /tg/ autism, ex-fatties hating current fatties/their old selves or insecure nerds flag-waving about at least not being fat, but it's very odd.For most people, food is a natural part of socialising whether that's going out for dinner to catch up with old friends, having a picnic at the end of long hike or bringing out some snacks when you invite people over to watch the game. You don't need to be fat to appreciate food.>What do you eat while you play?To actually answer your question OP, I'm in two groups at the moment. For both of them we'll usually break halfway through for a meal which will 50/50 either be something nice and home-cooked or simple takeout depending on how busy the two girls of the group have been. We'll usually have some snacks out on the table which could be anything from olives and a cheeseboard to a bowl of sour worms. One of the guys on one of the groups always brings some homemade jerky or biltong.

>>96604528Let's be absolutely clear about something. At no point, ever, would ANYONE, EVER, look at those meat sticks and think they're a good idea or worth buying. The only value they have is the rare chance to say "Hey, you wanna taste this minotaur meat stick?", but even that is completely fucked up by the fact that it's Pork and not Beef and it probably costs thirty times more than just an ordinary slimjim. For fuck's sake man. It's processed animal lips and scrotums with the most half-assed fantasy images slapped on top and I can guarantee that they all just taste like salt and ass. With that out of the way, can we continue discussing food during games?
>>96601139Why is the Mermaid not fish jerky? Why is the Leprechaun not hamster or something?
>>96601139For home games I used to love making dinner for my players when they came over. Especially finding ways to sneak veggies into the pickiest eaters. They'd talk big game about how much they hate mushrooms and begrudgingly admit my speggy sauce is way better than their momma's, and ask me how I did it. I'd just refuse to say, claiming it's a family secret I'll only give to my children. (The browned beef crumble) is bulked by half with finely minced mushrooms, no real textural difference and it adds a lot of body and earthiness to the flavor)When I GM I love getting lost in the sauce of the anthropological nuance of regional cuisine and use meals PCs get in town to illustrate something about the region, or at least that's the plan and then I just get into these long ass Redwallian asides talking about the local fish stew. When I bring snacks to a game I try to hit up a foreign market and get some shit nobody's heard of. Failing that I get new weird types of soda and chips. Bringing something for the table is just being a good guest. If it doesn't turn out good, we at least get a laugh out of it, and out of still seeing it taking up space unwanted in their pantry, and threaten each other with the bad chips.Playing at the LGS, I get takeout from a local place, and offer to share with the store clerk while I'm there, and buy drinks from the game shop so I'm at least spending some money there to justify having outside food and drink. When I go to cons, I always bring little breads, a block of cheese, a summer sausage, assorted fruits, and water. I'm always eager to share with anyone curious about what I've got. I know remembering to eat at a con is hard, and especially remembering to eat nutritiously. If I have a hotel room, the minifridge gets packed with sauced pasta and curry with rice and potato stews or gumbo. Nukeable slop foods dense with veggies are a must. Also a great way to get baddies to come back to your hotel room.
