There's like two short times a year it would be plausible to play outside where I live, mid spring before the rain but after the cold and late Septembe early October. The rest of the time its too hot, too windy, too cold or too wet to even consider playing outside. Eastern Washington sucks.

I've played "backyard" games where my friend would just lay terrain around his back lawn and we'd play with 54mm miniatures. Fun but honestly too windy and it's only doable in perfect weather. Sucks doing it in the winter or summer

Playing at a park unironically sounds comfy>fresh air and sunlight>free advertising for your club since people at the park will inevitably wonder what you guys are doing>free backdrop when you take pictures of your games>no need to bother with faggot store owners>helps the socially anxious members of your club get some exposure therapy by bringing a familiar game and people to a public environmentpretty much the only downside would be if it rains or if the game requires a ton of terrain to transport, or maybe if you're playing a game like necromunda which better suits being in a dim room, otherwise it sounds cool.
