>low-fantasy primitive setting where characters can acquire technology vastly above the setting's general tech level (but not above the tech level IRL)
based or cringe?
>>
A few scenarios:
1. high-tech colonists blockaded by the natives. you can trade with them but you (or they) have to get past the blockade somehow. if you're caught with their tech you risk being executed. you can also try to steal from the colonists but that's very dangerous too
2. stuff left behind by ancient civ. sort of like primitive STALKER. vaults full of preserved knowledge and technology that are hard to find, hard to breach and very dangerous. Booby traps that can be dismantled for parts by a knowledgeable character (e.g. you defuse a mine and use the TNT filler to make weapons)

We have a worldbuilding general newfriend.

why do you always post this? Are you upset it's not another 40k spam thread?

Only cringe part. I want to see what a dipshit caveman does with a hand-held antimatter reactor.

The tech limitation is important because it means I (the DM) can look up what the tech looks like, how it works, what happens if the players try to do X with it, and so on. That's what sets it apart from magic or sufficiently advanced technology.
Modern-day tech is still fun though. Imagine a caveman coming across unexploded ordnance, or a radiothermal generator, or barrels of dangerous (toxic, flammable or explosive) chemicals. Even if they're degraded due to centuries or millenia passing since being abandoned, they can still be dangerous by caveman standards (and/or useful if the caveman is smart)

Or you could just make shit up and not give a fuck.

Deferring to real life makes the stuff more fleshed out and also less prone to exploits and contradictions

If 40gay threads get told to stay in their general then so should these.

What's even the point of this, as if we have an abundance of threads than aren't just shitposts. Ip refer x1000 thread of this kind than another rage bait, goon bait, gun bait or 40k thread.
