Been enjoying Tiny Epic Dungeons with my non fa/tg/uy friends recently. They seem to enjoy the non-roleplaying tabletop dungeon delvers. We kinda want something a bit meatier now. I've seen a lot of people recommend Dungeon Saga Origins and Massive Darkness 2. Did any of you play either of them? What do you think of them?
>>96607578Don't know about Dungeon Saga Origins.I only played Massive Darkness 2 a couple times, but I had fun with it. Each character has their own way to customize and manage their skills, their own "minigame" I guess you could call it. I thought it was interesting and a good way to add replay value to the game; even though didn't pçlay enough to actually experience that, I thought it was a good idea.I thought the bosses have interesting designs and mechanics, you really have to figure them out in order to win. But again, I've only fought two of them. Also, don't know how much of a draw that is for you and your friends, but the minis look damn good.
>>96607774That sounds sweet. How long is the game time usually? And does it take long to set up or is it okay for like a 2h short sesh?
Bump
>>96607578>They seem to enjoy the non-roleplaying tabletop dungeon delvers. That isn't possible, because their characters aren't themselves.
>>96607781I don't remember exactly how long it took. I think we went over an hour for each session, and my friend who owned the game said those were the shortest scenarios. When I played I did find it setup heavy, but it might be a me thing cause I have very low tolerance for long setup times. But only one person present knew the game, so that's a factor. I'm sure it'd go a lot smoother for setup and play after 3-5 sessions.
