Let chaos idols take this thread
>>96611662>What chaos vehicles could I use it as to make make sense gameplay-wise and such?a Land Raider I guess but Fellblades are fucking BIG
I hate tau
Do you think they'll update the Assault Terminators datasheet with the new kit?
How's your September collage entry doing, anons? Also post models.

why are tanks so expensive
>>96611686Because paypiggies keep buying them.
>>96611671I wish I didn't play TSons just so I could use a Spartan
>>96611676There's a September collage!? Also nice model. Loved seeing the beginning of your model getting the skeleton parts sculpted on it, and now seeing it painted is just a treat.
>>96611671Thats a big land raider.
>>96611684It's just upscaled like the regular terminators that came out with 10th edition are.
>>96611692>There's a September collage!? Ye, the theme is anything kitbashed.
>>96611677>VashtorrStill a flavour of chaos
>>96611710Well somehow I missed out on the announcement. Thanks anyways anon.
>>96611676Already finished and submitted a while ago. The fact you sculpted the bones on those is incredible.Last thread got me thinking, do you have trophies for any of your guys? Bits of other armies you’ve fought and beaten (or lost to). I know I’m usually lazy and avoid it myself. Only have a few kicking around.

im still taking my time and painting this piece by piece as i assemble it and i must say im *extremely* proud of how my painting skills are improving. i plan on going over the edged with a white dry brush to give some definition before finishing up with nuln oil to make it pop? what do u think of this noobie wip paint assembly job 40kg frens ?
>>96611744Back when the chaos codex for 9th was coming out there was rumours that GW was making a deal with Covercorp to do some sponsored streams to promote chaos, which coincided with one of their new EN talents who in their lore is the chaos manifest with a dice theme.Given the rumours of Lorgar coming back and Warhammer becoming more popular in that space there's a possibility that British autism and Nippon autism have finally sorted themselves out with a deal.>96611751>Probably Adeptus Ridiculous fans.Good bait

>>96611840It means the pleasure of being cummed inside
>>96611651>What makes a Warhammer 40k fanart piece a good fanart piece to you?Honestly there are a lot of factors to take into but a lot of it goes down to personal opinion. For me. I think the best fanarts show a genuine care for the setting while at the same time want to entertain the viewer. Also when the visual quality of the art is good that is always a nice bonus.Personally I think one "sector" of 40k fanart that is seldom explored is mimicking the ForgeWorld Imperial Armour model photographs. Pic related is a fanart piece. I think the reason is because not everyone can afford a large studio room to make the dioramas to make the ForgeWorld photoshopped images.

I played a Tau campaign in Dark Crusade recently and now Tau are cool to me.If this post ends in 1-6, I will take it as a sign that I should start a Tau army.

>>96611858I really want to make fanart like this but I don’t have the space to make the diorama backgrounds. And if I have to draw the entire thing then I’d rather just draw entire image and forget about posing miniatures.
>>96611781Good stuff. Eventually you'll want to figure out doing something with the base instead of leaving it plain black. I didn't bother for a long time but wish I had got in the habit of doing the bases sooner, it really completes the model.

Now that we've seen all the Codexes in 10e, was it a good edition overall?
>>96611676been done for awhile
>>96611896>adding helmets painted like /tg/ frensDo it
>>96611918No. Codexes don't fix the underlying issues of wargear, psychic phase and rerolls.
>>96611918Pretty decent, doomers will say otherwise. Excited for 11th and hope its only a little shit.
>>96611918its created a good place to start 11th from. I wanna see what they add over the next few years.
>>96611939I was annoyed by the backtracking on fewer rerolls but 1/3 of the armies had units with baked in rerolls and attached characters tend to add rerolls

Painted my first model ever! Shitty picture because I live in a shithole.I know he has two backpacks when he shouldn't... I fucked up while building and that's why he got to be the first one painted. Other than that, how's it looking for a first-timer? Most of the advice I see is for bigger models like space marines, I kind of wish I hadn't started off with guard.
>>96612034cute little Krieger anon
>>96612034Extremely good for a first timer. You watched a lot of YouTube tutorials.
>>96612034Looks really good for a first model anon! Varnish that model and don't lose it. You'll be able to compare and see how much you've improved later on. >t. can't find my first model

>>96612034Good job. Stayed within the lines and even tried mud effects. Impressive effort for a first timer.Clean up the rim of the base though.
>>96612047No, but I am a color pencil artist. It's not the same thing as paint but I guess the color theory + fine motor skills are there.

How do I beat Drukhari as Black Templars? My army is mostly melee and they can blow up my anti tank rather easily. It’s pretty common for them to have around 14 dark lances. They get to decide when and where assault occur because they’re so fast. I do have some movement tricks in Companions of Vehemence but Incubi with dev wounds and lance are brutal. Granted, it’s rare to come up against them at all but they’re pretty strong. They’re easy to kill if you manage to mess up their plans, take out the raider before they can disembark. My blood angels have a much easier time because they’re much better at engaging with them but my foot slogging melee has trouble.

>>96612153Bro it’s been 8 years since the name change, get over it lol. IP and Trademark law is real. You can’t trademark space marines but you can trademark adeptus Astartes space marines. You can’t trademark eldar because let’s face it, they stole it from Tolkien anyway, but you can trademark aeldari.
>>96612164Space marines have cheap bodies? Which ones?

>>96612164Screen the army with the most flying units in the game. lol okay. Oh and they’re cheap enough to come at you from multiple angles oh and they have a purpose built gun designed to delete marines they can put on all their transports.

This is my Tau list for my first 1000pt game I'm playing this weekend, any recommendations on where I should go from here? I'm not sure if I should get a riptide or some broadsides next. I feel like it's maybe focused too much on anti-infantry firepower so I'm also thinking about getting a unit of fireknife suits for anti-elite shooting but that feels like it might be too many crisis suits. Also considering a unit of kroot carnivores for objective grabbing. Open to any suggestions>Detachment: Retaliation Cadre, 995pts>Commander Farsight: 85pts, Warlord>Cadre Fireblade: 50pts, 2x Gun Drone>Commander in Coldstar Battlesuit: 95 pts (1x High Output Burst Cannon, 2x Burst Cannon, 1x Cyclic Ion Blaster, Gun Drone, Shield Drone)>1x10 Breacher Team: 100pts (Guardian Drone, Gun Drone)>1x10 Pathfinder Team: 90pts (3x Rail Rifle, 1x Semi-automatic Grenade Launcher, Recon Drone, 2x Gun Drone)>1x3 Stealth Battlesuits (Battlesuit Support System, Fusion Blaster, Gun Drone, Marker Drone)>1x3 Crisis Sunforge Battlesuits: 140pts (3x Gun Drone, 3x Shield Drone)>1x3 Crisis Starscythe Battlesuits: 110pts (3x Gun Drone, 3x Shield Drone)>Ghostkeel Battlesuit: 160pts (Cyclic Ion Raker, Twin Burst Cannons, Battlesuit Support System)>Devilfish: 85pts (2x Twin Pulse Carbine, 2x Seeker Missile)

did the chaos codecies this edition give any new and interesting lore ?
>>96612223No this is just GW being autistic lawfaring retards over basically nothing. Warhammer has continuously suffered as a setting over it for the past decade or so.
>>96612186the inquisition related factions, at least deathwatch should have access to low ranking inquisitors to be chaff units instead of basically still working like actual space marine chapters
>>96612250No, they got their ass handed to them in US federal court and realized they had to change if they wanted any of their IP to be protected.
>>96612258>low ranking inquisitors Not how things work. The lowest ranking Inquisitor has higher authority than any watchmaster.
>>96612129I like the candy ocean bratz coded base.
>>96612250
>>96612266or whatever the inquisition uses for fodder
>>96612266Anon should have said low influence, not low rank. An inquisitor's rank over all is often technically a technicality, and their influence is limited by their ability to intimidate, schmooze, have leverage etc the different Imperial factions in their area. Some Inquisitors barely can get any resources from their area of operations, others declare themselves Lord Inquisitor of entire sectors. There is a difference in the influence of Inquisitors.
>>96611918no. this shit sucked lol
>>96612282Case by case basis. Some work alone, some keep a small highly skilled crew around, some have a strike team or personal army, some requisition IG and PDF regiments. So yeah you could have a bunch of penal legion tier branded chaff, or a team of elite stormtroopers.
>>96612285Even the lowest influence, shittiest inquisitor in the galaxy would never be used as canon fodder. An acolyte, or even better a member of inquisitorial retinue absolutely would be.
>>96611993Sauce/more?
>>96611918It has some issues but people get a bit dramatic about it. It's really not that bad, and as others have said it's a good starting point for further refinements in 11th. I would be very surprised if they don't make changes regarding psychic but it probably won't be a full return to how it used to be due to the fact many armies have little to no interaction with the mechanic. I could also see a return to wargear points for vehicles but I doubt they'll do it for infantry. It's possible they just continue the current strategy of splitting vehicles into multiple datasheets instead of adding points costs for options.
Where do Firewarriors rank against Imperium troops anyways? Obviously they're better than Guardsman, but are they equivalent to Tempestus Scions?
>>96612315Search for "Tau robot" on rule34.
>>96612034Looks good anon, hope you had fun
>>96612321Better trained and equipped than the majority of guard, but I'd still put scions above the rank and file fire warriors. At the pinnacle of raining/experience the biological differences between the species probably provide an edge to the humans.
>>96612301If you don't think Inquisitors send other Inquisitors to get killed or walk into traps you don't understand the Inquisition.
>>96612129Decoden marines is a fun idea. I know the decoden gunpla scene is legitimately pretty big to the point where decoden places someone's sell hgs and sd kits for girls to decorate

>>96612375>>96612390I unironically think if Bandai came out with a gundam magical girl anime that it would make them quadrillions. Gw should do it too.
>>96612396They got an index, and they have more detachments than half the codex in the game. Basically they have free rules, making them superior to every other faction in the game.
>>96612411That was witch from mercury and it was based.
>>96611676I kept jumping between projects, and now my work week starts, so it's probably not going to happen.

>>96612372>>96612411Your posts reminded me that i wanted to paint a couple of my battle suits as tekkadan's gundams.I really hope the farsight christmas box is real since i'd be able to convert Farsight himself to look more like Barbatos, and a converted broadside for Flauros, just not sure what suite to use for Gusion and it's extra arms.

>>96612523>is discussing 40k fanart not allowed?Anyways isn’t 40k’s fanart scene huge right now?
>>96612321Tau are sorta mediocre guardsmen carried hard by there gear, which gives them a big boost, but still lesser than scions and Kasrkin, though that could just because of the special weapons the humans get. A pulse rifle is much better than a hotshot lasgun in like 85% of scenarios. Id say there roughly equivalent to Ranger Skiitari
>>96612537Anon, in this cesspool of a general, you get banned for the most inane things.I got banned talking about a guy comissioning 40k fanart once. I got banned for posting a mini ffs (although that could be the inept overpaid janitor making a mistake). But if you want to keep posting about some local thread autist only a handful of people know about like some unfunny and scizo inside joke, go ahead! >>96612411>>96612372This is pretty sad. I feel bad knowing this guy must be on the verge of a mental health crisis.
>>96612543I know that Firewarriors aren't as biologically strong as humans but they're still trained from birth, as far as training goes they get as much as any human does, the only downside is they don't get as much accumulated experience since they only live to be like 40 and the ones that survive to get promotions tend to pilot battlesuits.I guess I just don't really get the idea that the Tau are bad soldiers.
>>96612556Guess you’re right now that you put it that way.Maybe the anon got cold feet and thought what described would happen and deleted his posts. Understandable to be honest.I can now understand why people make 40k threads and avoid this general.

>>96612584Users can delete their own posts, it's usually done after a spelling mistake.
>>96612456>GusionA riptide might work since it's got a big shield, but I'm sure if you get a commander and steal some arms off some basic battle suits you could do some as well.
>>96612595They look cooler than outriders desu. If only the riders weren’t firstborn
>>96612595cause I found a guy selling them for relatively cheap and I'm perfectly fine with old models
>>96612396Because daemons are getting squatted as a faction next edition, and their units will now be auxilliaries for CSM codex
>>96612563Oh no I never meant to say Tau were bad soldiers, they are normal good soldiers, just like guardsmen. You have to remember that most guardsmen (and all of GWs favorites, Krieg, cadia, Catachans etc.) are also all trained from birth. I would hazard though that a Firewarriors training is a little more practical and less insane then most guardsmen. The age hurts them though, a Guardsmen has a (small) chance of living long enough to become a veteran whos a good shot, which is reflected in several of the datacards, especially in older editions, whereas BS 3+ is pretty rare in tau outside of commanders
>>96612626>You have to remember that most guardsmen (and all of GWs favorites, Krieg, cadia, Catachans etc.) are also all trained from birth. What? No.

Here, lemme try.>Clad in scorched crimson and sable, screaming skull defiant of the jagged gouges and smouldering holes peppered along their hulls, these monstrous hulks lurched unsteadily, as if lathered stallions put to stable, into the byzantine spacedocks which traced fragile and fractal courses along the firmament above Calth, weblike in their sprawl. I've read better ERP sessions than this shit.I'll power through this shit but this is not a great first impression
>>96612219Get strike teams or kroot for more infantry when you play bigger games because your going to need guys to sit back ontop of objectives all game, also broadside suits would be my go to for fuck you anti-tank if you find you need to deal with main battle tanks more. But your sunforges are anti-tank units and the ghostkeel has a S12 melta gun which should be sufficient for 1K pointsI think your list is overeliant on battlesuits so you might have trouble with scoring on objectives and plasma/autocannon weapons are going to be a problem if your opponent can somehow take them en masse but since its 1K it shouldn't be possible to take that many to where your fucked.

>>96612666>Rogal Dorn: EH THOUSANDS OF YEA'S AGO I KICKED YOUR ASS, AND I'M ABOUT'TA DO IT AGAIN.
>>96612626>>96612634Cadians are, and they're the sort of 'default' Guardsman regiment that's most typically thought of, but they're definitely not the most common. Your average Guardsman regiment is going to be a hiver regiment, composed of people that, while certainly grew up having a rough life that made them 'hard', they're not inherently more disciplined either. Hence the need for Commisars to provide 'encouragement'.Really though, the biggest advantage Fire Warrior training has over Guardsman training isn't 'grittiness' or how much of a badass one is over the other, but as the other anon mentioned, simple practicality. A Kriegsman is a cold, hard soldier...who practices World War 1 style trench warfare. Regardless of how much of a badass he is, that is sa horribly inefficient way to fight. By contrast, a Fire Warrior practices much more modern techniques in combat. This can give the impression that Fire Warriors are only good because of their equipment, but the truth is more along the lines of them training in what they're good at. What this essentially means is that on the tabletop, what makes a Fire Warrior's training good won't be represented in their stats, but rather in how their player uses them.
>>96612634nta but cadians and krieg are literally trained from birth and catachan is a violent death world and only the strong survive to adulthood so they're hardened killers before they even join the guard.>>96612543Hotshot lasguns and imperial plasma guns are superior to pulse rifles because tau prioritize their plasma equipment being safe to handle over deadly so the firepower they output is much weaker than imperial plasma but still stronger than a boltgun.
Dark Angels or Black Templars?
>>96612682>Hotshot lasguns and imperial plasma guns are superior to pulse rifles because tau prioritize their plasma equipment being safe to handle over deadly so the firepower they output is much weaker than imperial plasma but still stronger than a boltgun.Hotshot lasguns don't melt through power armor. new marks of pulse carbines do.Comparing plasma guns to pulse rifles is retarded since plasma guns are used against heavy armoured targets and can fire only a dozen or fewer shots before going critical or needing hours to reload. The plasma guns equivalents on the T'au side are the plasma rifles wielded by the T'au suits, which easily tear through marines and have the advantage of continious fire with no fear of expolding.

>>96612698Pulse rifles are literally weaker plasma guns that don't produce as much of a punch but they don't fucking explode. Also are you dumb? The entire point of hotshot lasguns is that they are issued to scions because they CAN shoot through power armor. But unlike pulse rifles they're difficult to assemble and require and entire external power pack. And the tau mounting even stronger plasma guns on crsisis suits doesn't mean that pulse rifles aren't equivalent to imperial plasma weapons because guess what dipshit? Pulse rifles fire plasma. Also FYI imperial plasma has been given like 6 different ways in which it works in the books so I would take alot of that with a grain of salt about it needing entire hours to reload after just 12 shots.

>>96612858No, they don't. It takes 50 lasguns firing at a single spot at the same time to melt through the power layers of power armour.>>96612851The novel expands on this bit of lore:>With his battlesuit teams leaping out from graceful Manta missile destroyers and his ground forces transported en masse by the planet’s magnorail networks, O’Shovah was able to react to the vertical incursions of the Space Marines with impressive speed. Targeting data acquired on the far side of the Damocles Gulf had shown the Imperial shock troops to be extremely heavily armoured, and so Farsight had taken the precaution of having every Crisis suit under his command equipped with dual plasma rifles.>It proved to be the right decision. The mass-reactive shells fired by the Space Marine squads deploying from each insertion pod were fierce indeed, but few penetrated the armoured shells of the battlesuits that arced down out of the skies. Under Farsight’s strict instruction, wherever one Crisis battlesuit was hit it would peel back to be replaced by a fully operational replacement. Wave by wave, the Crisis Teams descended, their numbers such that, from a distance, they looked like a Vior’lan seedstorm floating to earth. Hundreds of plasma rifles spat bursts of burning fire down into the ranks of the Space Marines, melting through ceramite and searing through flesh to scorch the ground beneath. The Imperial warriors were not so much shot as cored, the sizzling holes in their torsos exposing innards to the air.Let me grab more quotes from the supplement and novel.

>>96612856Anon go re-read my fucking posts I'm literally telling you that Tau plasma rifles are weaker than imperial plasma rifles on a shot by shot basis because they trade the firepower for safety measures and ease of production which is why tau are able to field them for all their infantry but imperial plasma weapons are relegated to special anti-armor roles. Tau Pulse rifles are like Space Marine bolters, bolters are not actually that great at getting through Space Marine armor, but they will get the job done if you lay on enough firepower. But, if you know that you're going to be going up against Space Marines, you'll usually opt to bring something heavier (even Space Marines would opt for that).

Serious question, why did Craftworld Elder get so much love recently?Pretty much their entire range with the exception of kharandras, vypers and the fire prism/wave serpent has been redone recently. They added a new phoenix lord in addition to the others.Meanwhile Drukhari got a new archon, and a special character, they got mandrakes a little while ago but they lost Urien, grotesques, beasts, and court. Why does one get so much favorable treatment and the other barely anything? Why are drukhari so consistently shafted?

There's no mention of any esoteric ritual or malefic blessing of the station guns in order to do that, unless we take this following passage to mean that the metaphysical planetary alignment mercury in retrograde shit somehow supernaturally charges the weapons. But the weapons themselves are still described in mundane terms in the last couple of sentences, which puts doubt on that interpretation. If that's what Dan meant, he wrote it very, very clumsily.

>>96613675>Do you know how small a small city is compared to a star? It's like a microbe shooting a person.yea, its still "big" to us. I don't expect sci fi to have the size conceptualization of an astrophysicist. The Neutron Initiator part of a nuclear bomb trigger is tiny in comparison to the explosion it causes. When it comes to highly compressed ongoing reactions a chain reaction of some made up far future science could conceivably spread throughout the entire star. Also I didn't read the story so I don't know how the star is described but there are some very small stars out there, a brown dwarf is the same size as Jupiter. Neutron stars are even smaller (high mass, small physical size). If it's a Neutron Star you could even theoretically cause it to exceed its Chandrasekhar limit by yeeting a planet into it.
>>96613709its simple, perfectly scientific. >>96613882A Thousand Sons and Burning of Prospero were two of my favorites. Be warned, 30k Magnus is incredibly cool and interesting and he gets character assassinated after these very cool books.
>>96613887Eldar must have a rabidly devoted fanbase with no taste to consume such shit so quickly No wonder GW wants to cater to them more
>>96613930It does. I'm thinking of just picking colours for my guardsmen based on what I think is cool and just worrying about everything later.
How long until warhammers popularity collapses on itself?
>>96613939It's not the size of the bullet, it's how you use it
>>96613981What do you believe causes something like that to happen?
>>96613981>How long until warhammers popularity collapses on itself?Everything has a sunrise, sunshine, and sunset. Warhammer will be no exception. That said I think we are already the bronies of science fiction in that were incredibly annoying. Also what does your pic have to do with your post?
>>96610178>Likely fake, they gave him Gulliman’s statline. Would be neat if it was real though. You mean exactly like how the Lion has Guilliman's statline retard? If anything this makes me think it's more legit
>>96613844Damn it took me forever to notice corvus
>>96613992But eventually the sun rises again, but it will be a new day.
>>96613981Star Wars is more profitable now than it was 10 years, and 10 years before that, and 10 years before that. Sure, it's a matter of when not if, but these franchises once they hit a certain critical mass can go on for quite some time.
>Custodes players so mind broken by Primaris scale creeping up on their lofty elevated height that they are now adjusting them to be even taller
>>96614019Okay that's a fair point. I think 40k went through some dark ages before the sun rose again.
i used streaking grime for the first time and i finally get it
>>96613882I like to imagine this is them of their way to the afterlife, and the woman in the front has that thousand yard stare from having seen too much. To finally be at peace and on their way to an idyllic afterlife but unable to rest, a soul irreparably scarred no matter how comforting the environs.
>>96614040Why did 40k have to move away from heroic scale...
>>96614040>when you get the leg lengthening surgery out of primaris insecurity LMAO
>>96614053Because it looks like shit.
>>96614040Hue, looks a bit goofy. But to be honest GW is most likely going to update the cusstodes soon and will make them somewhat taller. The current generic custodian guard kit is like close 10 years old soon.
>>96614053Heroic scale was done, they made everything you could want in heroic scale pretty much. I respect you prefer that style, but its literally still there waiting for you if you want it.Personally, the new scale and sculpts are superior in general. I say in general because both old and new ranges have amazing models and total stinkers.
>>96614058That's your very subjective opinion.Personally I liked when everything was heroic scale because things weren't always accurate in height, but it was consistent and we weren't dealing with constant scale creep every other kit release.
>>96614064If only huh.
>>96614048>Here is my illustration inspired by Monet’s famous painting “Poppies.”>I wanted to be inspired by his work and mix it with science fiction, specifically Warhammer 40,000.>The idea here was to create a calm, peaceful landscape, patrolled by Sisters of Battle. One of them wanders off for a few seconds to caress the poppies, straying from her mission, from the emperor, to become “human” again.I like your interpretation too. They just cant stop, cant slow down and exist, they must go on even after death, not knowing the peace they have been grantedI'm about to buy it as a print because it's just beautiful
>>96614077Monet was truly an amazing artist and a great one to take inspiration from, thanks for sharing those paintings anon I really liked them too.
I really love this specific pose and scene
>>96614083You are very welcome.The artist is https://www.instagram.com/mr_coffee_time/
>>96614073>but its literally still there waiting for you if you want it.What infantry heroic kits are still around these days? DEldar, tactical/devastator marines, fire warriors, dire avengers, grey knights, are there anymore I'm missing
>>96614091>What infantry heroic kits are still around these days?I mean the old models didn't disappear. There are still tons of NiB of the old models and recasters keep the sculpts alive.
>>96614040keep it in the discord you fucking cunt
>>96614073I don't really care if people prefer the new models as models, but they're objectively worse for the actual game.
>>96614053Because most people don't like heroic scale. Most people don't like goofy little dudes. Also, a less heroic scale looks better to people on the box cover/social media pictures.TL;DR: Appealing to normies.
>>96614090>says he has a shop selling the canvas>no links in the description, just says its in his shop>google 'mr coffeetime art painting shop 40k' and just get coffee machines for saleIm gonna kms
>>96614107https://coffee-time.fr/boutique/
>>96614093Yeah I know recasters exist, I picked up some of the old mk3 marines, but fuck do resin casts if plastic kits suck to clean up and build.NiB is pretty market dependant, you can't find any of the old cadians in my region anymore because a lot of players didn't like the new sculpts and bought entire stocks worth before they were discontinued.
>>96614053Heroic Scale existed due to limitations of techniques, not really what the artists wanted over true scale or higher fidelity models. You might prefer it, but it wasn't because it made better game pieces or it was a stylistic choice. It was because sculpting was harder than it is now with digital tools and more advanced injection mold techniques.
>>96614093>they're not gone>Well they're gone from the store>but you can buy resin recasts from Vlad and ChangNta but are you always this dishonest?
>>96614115Whats dishonest about saying you can always buy recasts? Do you need GW to literally feed you too? Or can you stay alive on your own?
>>96614113>heroic scale was limitationNo it wasn't. Why does this lie keep getting pedaled? What's next, the rock was a gay bar in nottingham?
>>96614106>TL;DR: Appealing to normiesDisgusting, they're enjoying Warhammer incorrectly.
>>96614091Catachans. Genestealers, Tyranid Warriors
>watch game at LGS>player keeps on making decisions which I think are retarded and it's actually pissing me off>can't comment because i'm not a backseat gamerfor example>drew marked for death, one of the targets was a land raider that he hurt a bit but didn't kill, more importantly it was out of position and would get mobbed (and destroyed) in the next turn, perfect for keeping the card>gets rid of the card because he didn't kill anything>bunch of stuff deep strikes in on a flank to reinforce mortarion and 2 daemon princes, they will steal a point off of him as those models are easily gonna kill 5 slaanesh seekers sitting on ut>could rapid ingress his bloodthirster behind them (shadow of chaos) where it can't currently be charged, so that if the seekers get charged, it can heroically intervene onto the point and put some hurt in>rapid ingresses it right in mortarions face, ready to get charged
>>96614091Are DEldar supposed to be heroic scale? They all look pretty close to modern scaling to me, despite their age
>>96614126What's dishonest about saying something is still for sale when the store doesn't sell it?>It's for sale>well no it's not>just get recast you lazyDo you really believe people are dumb enough to not see what you're doing? Not everyone is as spineless as you are.
>>96614127People will always try and change the past to suit their narrative
>>96614115I never said they were for sale, I said they didn't disappear. I said to quote "its literally still there waiting for you if you want it'".
>>96614136Pubbies vary wildly in tactical acumen. Some are striving to get better but some never really will.
>>96614128You started after primaris and will never be a grog
>>96614138I think they were, but heroic scale just fits pretty well considering they are only supposed to be 6 - 7 feet tall and marines are 7-8 now.
>>96614128>incorrectlyNo, they don't enjoy it, period. That's why contrast are a thing, that's why options went away, that's why wargear goes away, that's why designs get streamlined and the tone shifted. That's the point: most people didn't like 40k or warhammer as a whole, that's the whole point of the era change.Hell tons of people here don't even like painting .
>>96614144>they didn't disappear>but they're not for sale>but they're there for you>except it's a chinese recastSome people would kill to have a fully functioning brain and you're using it for this?
>>96614044I must religiously stick with acrylics. I must not give those AK wargamer washes a go.
>>96614135Oh yeah, plus half of the Ork range.>>96614138DEldar just have fantastic designs, plus since their Eldar they've got that tall/thinner profile which masks a lot of the heroic scale tropes.
>>96614146I'm not really a grog, I've only been here since around mid-4th ed
>>96614158https://www.ebay.com/itm/326584452174
>>96614138"Heroic scale" isn't actually a scale. It's just a made up term to describe the fact that the heads/hands/weapons are scaled up larger than they would be realistically to allow for more detail/visibility. All modern moderns are still "heroic scale" even though they're bigger.
>>96614158recasts and printing are based, whats your problem bub? you that addicted to working with pewter? pewter sucked ass, finecast sucked ass, FW resin sucked as. Plastic is the best format but recast resin still mogs the old materials.
>>96614183Have you ever tried to build a recast rhino chassis?I'm glad I had a heat gun for the process because otherwise I would have just thrown everything into a fire.
>>96614159What do you know? It turns out AK actually has put out some acrylic washes, the problem or advantage is that AK didn't mimic the Citadel/ArmyPainter washes and went their own way. ArmyPainter washes are pretty good when mixed 50/50 with speedpaint medium.
>>96614179https://www.ebay.com/itm/205650975019You fucking mongol
>>96614190Actually yea, I did have a bad experiance with a knight questoris kit from china. I ended up putting it in boiling water until it got soft then putting it on the counter to flatten. But mostly I've had good experiances.
>>96614053Because it looks like ass and it's not what the people want.Make your own if you love it so much.
>>96614204>https://www.ebay.com/itm/205650975019That's crazy, I got a primed but not painted lot of 20 for 30 bucks earlier in the year for some kitbashing.
>>96614183Who you are you quoting?
>>96614213Maybe ebay isn't an infinite source, some supply and demand shenanigans going on here
do (YOU) try to avoid shooting big stuff off the board turn 1 if you go first?I think it's pretty rude to kill the big fun models before your opponent gets to use them, and I usually end up getting screwed over by that.
>>96614227Supply and demand doesn't exist, old models don't disappear silly.
>>96614193i will forever shill duncan's washes they're my favourite acrylic washes out there except the purple one the citadel wash is better
>>96614217Incorrect use of this meme, because no meme arrows were employed in that post.
>>96614205Alright, at least you've got experience with resin casts of plastic kits and the limitations and short falls that come with it.
>>96614238I used a couple of duncan's washes and they have this weird finish when dry. AP washes are unironically the best
>>96614139>when the store doesn't sell it?Stores still sell them, it's just not the GW store anymore.

>>96614280damn image took too long to load lmao
>>96613992What is "bronies of science fiction"?
>>96614136>it can heroically intervene onto the point and put some hurt inHey! I'm noob, could you please explain me more on this tactical move? Here's how i understand it:- Opponent can charge his slaanesh seekers after charging it- That guy could charge that opponent's unit immediately after it charges, by using the Heroic Intervention- But charge via Heroic Intervention doesn't give Fight First. This means, that Bloodthrister can fight only after opponent finishes attacks (if he survives).- So it means, that opponent will kill not only Seekers, but also that guy's Bloodthirster. Is that correct?I mean, to me it looks, like Bloodthirster can't just hit the opponent, he needs to survive for that.
