I've been meaning to introduce my group to systems besides dnd and pathfinder. Are there any interesting/foreign systems like pic related but oriented more for one shots? Something niche and interesting but easy to pick up.
I fully recommend Paranoia for that. Get XP, by far the best edition.
Call of Cthulhu is the #1 roleplaying game in Japan because it is perfect for one-shot sessions.
>>96612428cosmic horror kind of sucks thoughis Delta Green also good for one shots? how easy is it to teach and play?
I've run several Beyond the Wall oneshots as a way to break groups out of DnD. Traveller works well with oneshots, too!
>>96612436Delta Green has very minute differences from call of cthulhu, it's nearly the same game but just has different core assumptions of what you'll be doing

>>96612314OSR is great for one-shots and you should check out all the One-Page Dungeons from the annual contest. https://litter.catbox.moe/iiz19baf56ylrbkt.pdf
>>96612314Ventangle, Maid, Golden Sky Stories, all make for good one-shots.
>>96612314Tenra Bansho Zero has simple gameplay and is designed for one-shots.
>>96612314Prowlers and Paragons
>>96612314I think Engine Heart counts as both.
>>96620240I'll have to upload my excel sheet somewhere (pic related), but the system is easy to make characters in if you can imagine a robot and what it might look like, say operating in a coffee shop, or doing some domestic function.
