>>96620629I don’t know what it is, but the power system from Luminary really vibed with me. I think it’s my favorite build on a purely personal level I’ve done for a while. Unfortunately, I just can’t immerse myself in the world for some reason. I’ve tried looking at a bunch of cyberpunk and magical girl art to get the atmosphere down, but it eludes me. Kind of the opposite of OR, in those regards. I love the world and lore of OR, but have zero strong feelings about my build.
>>96621043Probably because OR has much more lore going for it, more characters, more factions, etc. Luminary has more generic stuff, there's "the Light" along with some groups who are part of it, and five evil corpos of "the Dark", there are no character you can interact in any meaningful way besides fighting that aren't part of the Light faction, and the ones that can be your companions feel barebones, there is also almost no lore besides the endless fight between Light and Dark. The other Luminary, for contrast, has a lot of characters with more substance, even if there's less of them, each has their own thing going on fighting significantly different foes on vastly different lands with unique things to them, and many factions that are not just another evil corp that just sells a different product.
>>96620141Kingdom. None of that stupid tropey stuff you see, this is a proper serious show. It's set during the Joseon dynasty of Korea, but a zombie outbreak threatens to destroy the kingdom. >>96626987You know, I still stand by my old Prodigal build for Planeswalker Rising. I might make some tweaks, such as maybe swapping out Health (Regeneration) for healing magic, or Rocky Hill for Riley Jane Frith . . .maybe even pick up Alyiele as an additional mentor. But that's nitpicky stuff, minor changes around the edges. I still agree with the core of the build. What about you guys? Still happy with your builds?
>>96627126I never felt happy with the scenario and didn't really like it.
>>96627201Oh? Why?
>>96627126I try to replay it from time to time and still end up picking the same shit lol.
>>96627223I dislike the level of control and policing the planeswalkers do, and the author's insistence on how 'realistic' the worlds are.
>>96627226What was the basic thrust of your build? Mine was the Prodigal historian, using Death to interview dead planeswalkers. Took a bunch of mentors and connections, too, so that I'd have access to the skills needed to capitalize on what I learned.(Plus, who wouldn't want to study with some of the most learned beings in existence?)
>>96627315Academic with companions, jolly cooperation, and planes-skipping to play taxi for connections. Idea is to make myself the sort of connection that other people want to take, so that I get a lot of new planeswalkers selecting me, which in turn increases the number of jolly cooperation targets that I have for universe-shopping. I always pick Fetrain and Alleni for connections, and I have a small list of favorites for the other slots.
>>96627284Yeah, I bounced off it too. I remember a few anons really liked it, but I always preferred Anduin’s Planeswalker cyoa even if it was more free form
>>96626152Something in between, can't say much more without spoiling the story! It's pretty scary though. If you've seen Train to Busan, I'd say the "nightmare meter" is similar to theirs, though IMO I like Kingdom more than TtB.
>>96627398I took them, too. Although playing "fair", I don't know that I would have picked Alleni. Part of the attraction was her maxing out her requirement points, so that she could spend more time learning. But you only learn that on the "Secrets" page.Playing strictly by the book, I'd have probably picked up someone like Trueb instead. I can make the argument that -conceptually - the Citadel is like an unlisted, password-protected server in a multiplayer online game. And he's the closest we've got to hacker.Fetrain, though? Yeah, definitely. Who better to go to in order to talk through cross-dimensional synergies? Or to get custom planeswalking gear? (For a fair price, of course. Not a charity case, you know.)
Why did Cruxador's version of conduit have to ruin the comfiness of the Bevin world by throwing in a random ability to communicate with and mindrape other Bevin conduits?

>>96627964Fair enough. The femboy NEET Bevin conduit is the best waifu
>>96628008>>96628009
I like Conduit for its individual world ideas. You could make individual cyoas out of them. Wish we had more unique settings/worlds.
>>96625539Your mistake was trying to merge with a tok thread.
>>96627964>>96627966>>96628009>>96628015Pick 5 love interests to protect you. The rest will try to kill you.(If you hole up in a Bevin they learn about your personal life and threaten your loved ones.)
>>96628028Well, half the Conduit worlds were made by fans. Using the standard posting order, Letendre was the last world by Thrallherd (the original author). Gesmene, Mu, etc etc are all fan DLC. So feel free to whip up your own, if you want.
>>96628028Lyonesse is my favourite Conduit world. Arthurian Mythology but with magitech mecha is a fun aestheticI wish there were more CYOAs with mechs in general
>>96628028>>96628137Just please don't theme it too obviously around your fetish. We had a loli world and a slime girl world posted. Conduit is an inherently eclectic setting, but it's possible to break the mood.It needs a bit of gravitas, if you base it on pop culture that pop culture should be a few decades old at least.
>>96628028I always like the design space of breaking up the options into one-page modules that fit together. It gives players direction and it allows for seamless expansion.More authors should try using it.
>>96625539>my efforts to merge the Tok and Outer Reincarnation threads back into one unifed general.Never do that shit again.
>>96628213I'm very fond of Gesmene (steampunk writer's world) and Jotun (Norse/Native American arctic world) myself. But hey, if you liked Lyonesse, you should check out the old Escaflowne anime. It was a big influence on it.
>>96628338
>>96628213>>96628338I'm something of an Arcadia/Bleak Fields fan myself.
>>96628137>LetendreI'm personally not a fan of that one in particular, its just too niche a vibe.
>>96628114>Pick 5 love interests to protect you. The rest will try to kill you.I actually have thought about this before. If they're all out looking for new masters/employers, some of them are inevitably going to end up working for your rivals and enemies. The Gesmene and Phaeron waifus are too out of it, to be much threat. But others? The Qlippoth waifu is probably insane at this point. The Bleak Fields, Black Bay, and Badlands waifus all have combat or assassination experience. The Rim waifu has her own empire, whilt Pot-Zot can see the future. And that's before we discuss the magic users, unique talents, or any of the guys. But I think personality matters a lot. If the two of you don't gel, you're going to spend a lot of time bickering. And I don't care how succesful Inuyasha was as an anime - that's not a good way to get things done.Looking at just the women, I seem to attract (and keep) people like Crucible, Arcadia, Mu, and Jotun. I also seem to run into people similar to Badlands, Mu, Sunless Sea, and (occasionally) Pit-Zot. Not saying that it's a good thing, but it's what seems to happen. The one that I think I'd have the worst time bonding with is Bevin. I've met people like that, and it's like we can't get on the same wavelength. Oh well. What about you, anon?
>>96628437For the rule making/magical deals?
>>96628484Yes, and also because those two scratch my fucked-up fairytale/desolate hellhole itches.
>>96628015>>96628009>>96627966>>96627964What terms do you offer your adopted least conduits?
>>96628456The first thing I go looking for is insta-kill cheese. After that, total combat power.Like, Phaeron seems like she could get me through my dreamself if in don't invest in Phaeron myself. Bevin is also dangerous if she has information on me.We'll work out the chemistry, at worst it'll be a cold transactional relationship.>>96628537Either a safe home or earthly riches, depending on what they need. As a Rim conduit I could provide whole palaces with servants.
>>96628537>What terms do you offer your adopted least conduits?I spend most of my time in Jumpchain. >>96620127HistoricalFantasysubway, the alley, kopiko3 seasonsdecor, scrapbook, sentimental giftIf I can come back with magic kung fu skills, wake up. Otherwise stay.professionalimmunity, dreamscape, laxed classismRomance - Soo NeeFriend - So-sa, sang-hunrival - kyung-geeSo I am a secretly a super-craftsman making super-things for my humble village, avoiding all that Murim nonsense unless something drags me into it. I share drinks and occasionally spar with my friend Sang-hun and spend time with So-sa, a fellow expert. But oh no! My super-crafts failed to fail when an agent of Kyung-hee tried to sabotage them to start some convoluted plan at court, which saved the life of Soo Nee. So Kyung-hee is super pissed that I make stuff good and is now plotting against me because Soo Nee is getting a closer look at the lives of the peasantry and her good deeds are making her more popular than Kyung-hee.Eventually she'll go too far and my friend Sang-hun and all his friends in the military will push back, leaving Kyung-hee a puppet figure as her misdeeds are brought to light and her influence curtailed but not revealed to avoid unrest. Soo Nee eventually ascends the throne and our relationship remains a semi-secret. I've never watched a k-drama. Are they any good?
