A horrible boy-molesting monster called OP.
Probably the post apocalyptic warlord from our Apocalypse World game. >forced a woman to kill her own sister or else her son was hanged in front of her, then killed him anyway and gaslit her into suicide>had a concrete pit with holes in wall with starved bear where prisoners would be forced to put arms through and have them eaten off>threw a woman into top walk of his fort where she was impaled on rebar and left there while crows slowly picked her apart and guards up above laughed and pissed into her wounds>gave the group prostitute (the "skinner" class in AW) an STD with the inside out condom trick>convinced a mentally disabled girl to go on a killing spree against her own faction, convincing her the food shortages were going to lead to her being eaten since she was borderline retarded anyway >forced a woman to masturbate to her husband being killed by a huge war truck running him over slowly causing his guts to spray out his mouth "like a gogurt tube" >convinced a man to sell his daughters into sex slavery thinking they were being married to his lieutenants and would be guaranteed safety>gave badly mixed gasoline to the car taking his pregnant girlfriend to refuge so it exploded and she burnt alive >intentionally turned a PCs son into a retarded vegetable by drowning him with careful timing from doctor so he'd be forced to take care of a cripple for the rest of his life

>>96620627In an old extremely long running series of campaigns that took place in the same world over decades IRL and a few centuries in game, we've had a few.>Dwarf/Gnome/Human mountain city>Humans invent banking which leads to a Human evil banking cartel>PCs party wind-up in the city and overthrow the banking cartel when they get paid in worthless local scrip>Replaced with a Dwarven/Gnomish cartel that exploits interest due to longer lifespans>The PCs a group of debt-enslaved Humans over throw the Cartel>Human rebels elect a speciesist dictator that forces the Gnomes and Dwarves into concentration style work camps.>Party of PCs from outside the city do an Inglourious Basterds style assassination mission to kill him and prevent a war>A co-species council is put in place by the PCs>It turns into a cultWe just kept making things worse and it only got better.

I've decided that villains should always be as evil as humanly possible. In my experience if you try to make a villain sympathetic or nuanced the playoids will just resent you for trying to manipulate their emotions.
>>96620627When one of the gods of death was alive, he very firmly held the title of "worst human being to ever live." He was both personally a shithead, but his goal was equally monstrous - his goal was to use a spell to drain the world of its essence to fuel his ascent to Godhood. He knew doing this could very well kill everything in existence. He was fine with becoming a god of a ruined, lifeless world if it meant he got the power he wanted.Of course, that was one defeated campaign and an entire era ago. The world survived, but it was damaged. The land he ascended is was drained dry, and the rest of the world is kind of fucked. In his current form, he is somehow not as bad. The dark god he now is has become apathetic. The power he sought mastery over itself was weakened by his own actions. And more over, he has nothing to gain from scheming.
>>96620667Maybe I'm just a fucking midwit but I really didn't get the hype over this book even after reading it.
>>96629816If you don't like McCarthy's prose on its own you're not gonna get anything out of the book. >They came to know the nightskies well. Western eyes that read more geometric constructions than those names given by the ancients. Tethered to the polestar they rode the Dipper round while Orion rose in the southwest like a great electric kite.
Long past dark that night when the moon was already up a party of women that had been upriver drying fish returned to the village and wandered howling through the ruins. A few fires still smoldered on the ground and dogs slank off from among the corpses. An old woman knelt at the blackened stones before her door and poked brush into the coals and blew back a flame from the ashes and began to right the overturned pots. All about her the dead lay with their peeled skulls like polyps bluely wet or luminescent melons cooling on some mesa of the moon. In the days to come the frail black rebuses of blood in those sands would crack and break and drift away so that in the circuit of few suns all trace of the destruction of these people would be erased. The desert wind would salt their ruins and there would be nothing, nor ghost nor scribe, to tell to any pilgrim in his passing how it was that people had lived in this place and in this place died.

>>96620627I don't have a proper name for him yet but I've code named him Edris because I like how it sounds.Long story short, he's the first person to figure out how to briefly contain a person's "soul" and also the first person to intentionally turn someone into a wraith and laying the ground work for a number of the more horrible uses of psychic powers. He's also the dirty little secret of the main organization the PCs would be working for as they would drag their feet on pursuing him to use his research to help them get a hold on the phenomenon they had to deal with at the cost of allowing many criminal organizations and cults to patron him and make use of his research in their own ways.
