I'm wanting to run a scifi campaign for my group and I am curious if anyone here has run and or knows of any good systems that don't have a setting attached to it (or at least is easy to ignore). I know Savage Worlds has a sci fi companion and I do have M-Space which is a hack of Mythras for scifi games. I am hoping to be able to do something more hard sci fi with the campaign if that helps.

>>96632175Honor + Intrigue has the Tome of Intriguing Options with the Blasters + Intrigue conversion. Pulp/serial flavored, of course.Barbarians of the Aftermath can do sci-fi settings as well as post-apoc, but it's pretty rough and more of a bolt-on for the actual Barbarians of Lemuria.Savage Worlds, but you already mentioned that.GURPS Space leans towards the harder end of sci-fi, surprising no one. Much more so than the pulpier options that already came up. Personally I just use it for planet generation.
>>96632175Stars Without Number isn't without a setting, but its easy to ignore.
>>96632175What do you consider "hard" sci-fi?
BASH Sci-Fi is the first thing that comes to mind.Lots of "generic systems should be able to work.Cepheus Universal should fit your needs. There is a new Traveller-based system by Mongoose getting ready to hit crowdfunding that is supposed to cover hard sci-fi.You might also check out Mothership and Hostile.
Just ignore the setting. Use 2300 A.D. or Mongoose's upcoming Pioneer game.
>>96632947OP here, I suppose I was rather vague, I was mostly thinking about the "vibes" for lack of a better term something like the expanse or UNSC from halo ce-reach so like balistics instead of energy weapons and some dangerous combat.

>>96633594Traveller would work for this.
