Anyone else feel like the Friday Night Firefight rules in 2020 sucked ass? It felt like they were trying to be silky smooth, to make you FEEL like you were playing either a genuine operator or a skittish punk who was gonna be running around like a chicken with its head cut off in the hopes of gaining some tiny tactical edge to win the fight.Instead it feels slow and boring and it's almost better if the GM just makes shit up and ignores the rules.
>>96634549It's definitely rough. Everyone I know homebrewed in some adjustments, or worked off of interpretations that made what was there smoother. A lot of the rules in 2020 are like that; great ideas, fantastic atmo, but rough and not clearly translated to good writing. Check out Interlock Unlimited for some reworded/redesigned mechanics.
>>96634570Checked out a bit of it>Read initiative rules>First things they offer are ways to slow it down more and make it even more boring>Everything that isn't just shooting is now penalized even harderThis feels objectively worse in every single way
>>96634610Interlock Unlimited makes things crunchier. Try Hunter-Seeker to make things simpler. (unfortunately it has "hit points")https://litter.catbox.moe/3ngkxqd3htpey6u0.pdf
