>96635717>Core/Lunars don't mention itNor could they have; SMA wasn't a thing until after the Lunars book was released.Exalted 1e Core: Summer 2001Exalted: the Lunars: Fall 2002Exalted: the Sidereals: Fall 2003Exalted Player's Guide: Spring 2004So the Lunars had SMA for about six months.
>>96636372>Exalted: the Lunars: Fall 2002>Exalted: the Sidereals: Fall 2003The gap between Lunars and Sidereals make the power creep more weird.
I finally read House of the Bull God and expected it to be really racist against black people.Meanwhile it's somehow only racist against Jews, with the Shaytani being merchants who meddle in things.>Their long noses are often hooked, and theirdark hair forms a closely curled cap upon their skulls.Unironically other than that, it didn't feel particularly hateful or ignorant. Yes, the Five Peoples don't get along that well and they live in a shit society being exploited by Ahlat and the Realm, but it's an explicit point that Harborhead could potentially challenge the Realm economically now that the Realm isn't oppressing them as much.Maybe I'm just deranged.
>>96636585Some times the racism is made up, in order to keep people way from old works, in order to prop up the newer works.Similar to pulp heroes reputation of being a bunch of sex pests, despite them commonly having oneits or outright being celibate (Solomon Kane & Doctor Savage).
>>96636585And why would you give a fuck if something is """le racist""" or whatever? Why should anyone?
>>96636261>What are your favorite canon artifacts and why?Stormcaller, no contest. Best backstory, best Evocations, best themes, best swag, best everything.
>>96636261So what do people here think of ExWoD?I skimmed through it yesterday and it looked fun.
>>96636736It has some decent ideas and doesn't turn charms into D&D style micro buffs. I also like how a lot of buff charms are scene long with attacks and perfects being one time spendings. So exalted get more and more brutal as the fight goes on.
So I have a question. Has anyone played a game where one of the players was Infernal with Theion Charmset? I read them in Gunstar, and I cannot help but see that they are absolutely overpowered.
>>96636415For further reference, the timeline for books in those days was a year lead-up from start to press/release. Lunars was getting released when Abyssals was about half done and work was just getting started on Sidereals; Lunars had begun writing when the core book was still relatively recent and Dragon-Blooded (released Spring 2002) was about half done.We also know from some hinting that Michael Goodwin and/or Jenna Moran (R.S. Borgstrom at the time) that Essence ping and other Power Combat fixtures were planned out by the time Sidereals was out, which is why VBoS had a minimum damage bump (big for starting characters that had it, pretty much useless for anyone with Essence 5+).
>>96636736It is cool some might even say it's one of the best ways to play exalted specially if you are already used to WOD rules.
So a Question. Does anyone have experience playing with a group where one player is Theion Infernal?I read his character set in Gunstar, and they all seem insanely overpowered.
>>96637065>>96636965Apologies. I forgot to refresh, and though I didn't make an earlier post.

At the appointed time for morning, the sun looked over the East, and, seeing any threats to Creation, destroyed them. At the appointed time for noon, the sun looked over Meru, and, seeing any threats to Creation, destroyed them. At the appointed time for evening, the sun looked over the West, and, seeing any threats to Creation, destroyed them. When the raksha blared the horn of battle, he routed them with a holocaust of golden light. When a shard of the Shining Answer drew near, he blinded Gaia, destroying her greed before it could rear its head. When the fetich of the Seventeen Forges of Brass and Iron sought to usurp the green light of Heaven, he riddled her body with orichalcum spears, and strangled her with a shout. When the People of the Yellow discovered a ritual that would extinguish all things for ever and ever, he loosened a cup of invisible fire over their cities and temples, and on that day the Great Legislator's eyes popped out in admiration and lust, becoming the End of All Wisdom. This continued for many eons. Now the Shadow of All Things was the cleverest of all beings, and he loved to play tricks. After meditating in his cave, he came upon the holiest man in the world as he was having a nocturnal emission. He took the seed of the yogi as he sang the song the cave had taught him, dropping it into the River of Snakes at the base of Qaf. It became a woman, seven mountains tall and azure-haired, whom he shadow-ate and became. Walking westward to the East, where a victim god was assuming the Panoply of the Sun, she called out:"O Terror Star! My end is Creation's end, and I was made to oppose you. But you shall not strike me down before you have stricken down the makers of the earth themselves." As what she said was true, he did not then strike her down, but went to his father guidance, as he often did.
>>96637152"O beloved father! You have told me to destroy the enemies of Creation, but you have also told me not to destroy its architects. But it seems that I cannot destroy an enemy without destroying architects as well.""Beloved son!," cried the Emypreal Chaos, its canyon-carving voice resounding throughout Creation, "remember what I have taught you. Destroy those who would destroy Creation, and harm none others save when it is necessary and they are expendable. The architects of Creation are not expendable."His orders clear, the sun returned to his duties. He did not see the azure-haired woman, but was vigilant against her return, and pondered how to defeat her.He asked Mercury if the woman could be banished, and she said: "Once she has entered your father's kingdom, she shall never leave."He asked Venus if peace could be made with the woman, and she said: "The emnity between you is inborn."He asked Mars if he could defeat the woman with proxies, and she said: "When she spoke of striking down, it would be true if she included 'by your proxies;' indeed, truer yet."He asked Jupiter if the woman had a secret, and she said: "She does."And he asked Saturn if the Primordials would ever threaten Creation. "Some will," she said.
>>96637163"I may only destroy those who would threaten Creation," he said, "and none other. Which among them?""If you go to war, those who shall threaten Creation shall fall first," she said."And will you tell me," he asked, "when their numbers are exhausted?""Indeed I shall," she said. Thus the sun declared the war whose battles are well-known and need not be repeated. His champions slaughtered the makers of the world until Saturn raised her hand. "All those who will destroy the world have been killed," she said. The sun was not created capable of regret, and so he did not feel regret. And the sun was not created capable of fear, so he did not feel fear. But when he understood what the Maiden said, he wept, for he had failed his final labor.
>>96636736>So what do people here think of ExWoD?I solves the charm bloat at the cost of having a shittier core. Sure, you can translate into CofD or something but that requires a lot of effort.
>>96637696>CofDHuh, can't upload PDFs anymore?Anyway, the ancient ExCofD alpha https://files.catbox.moe/nkywxi.pdf
>>96637749No, the attack that took the site down, used a pdf as as an attack vector
>>96637152>>96637163>>96637174Pretty good, Anon.Better than most of the official writing.
>>96637128>This video is truly beautiful and wonderful. My defined idea of Exalted changed significantly after seeing it. Thank you for creating such an evocative image of a world filled with wonders.>16 years agoThe world was so bright then.

>>96637921Yes, smartphones didn't exist yet, neither was the fanbase taken over by the parasitic genre purists.
