I have a question for folks. Specifically, regarding Evangelion.

So I have the perk from Sekiro that makes it so when you consume an entity, you can gain/usurp their power, along with perks from Dark Souls/Demon Souls for soul consumption. The plan is to be a human with the Hybrid perk and an S2 engine, wait until all the Angels are dead, then chow down on both Lilith and Rei before immediately fucking off into space. The idea being that in doing so, it completely fucks over SEELE, NERV/Gendo, and just about everyone else who would have wanted Instrumentality to happen.

My questions are as follows:
>Would consuming Lilith and her soul get me an AT field? What effects should be expected?
>As I am a human taking the Hybrid perk and not an Angel taking the Hybrid perk, would that be kosher by the jump's restriction on merging Adam and Lilith?
>Should I vaporize the Adam Embryo just to play it safe?

Could probably have venti come up with some theme music to for Minerva eventually.

I mean, they did basically teach Hylia how to be a cultivator. I can see there being some things that would be more restricted for one reason or another (in fact, I’ve got another loading screen tip about that), but restricting a color would be too much, especially when the whole point of the Goldenwood tree is it’s both holy and meant for everyone to use.

Ironically enough your guessing at plot points I was already planning a bit for when Venti gets his own lordship/Fiefdom. I was considering having some advisor from the capital there to watch and make sure everything operates okay. Even on a giant spaceship. Imperial advisors are definitely a thing though.

Possibly! I was thinking that the forest stuff would be happening after the expedition with zhon li. So venti would probably be... about a 130ish? So his sense of time would probably be a bit expanded. I could see a decade of being "Lost" being when they decide to give up. And a decade for him at that point would be very little.
I'm imagining something like kokiri forest somewhere deep within of people lost and spirits.

I think the Empire would be fairly adverse to change. They’ve been stable for over 8 million years and have a society that provides a good life to all who live there. At this point, why mess with what works on the off chance that you might make things slightly better?

After I posted that, I remembered what I’d said about magical and technological (via xianxia methods) progress being valued things. I suppose what would happen is various advancements would happen and spread over time, but societal changes are what would be resisted.

Fair I could see that. I'm not to keen on societal changes either but more development with xianxia style tech. That is the sort of attitude that'd be mainstream I think. Potentially talking down non hylian cultivators into changing there ways is one thing. Its possible if immensely hard a true/Nothing demon... no thats impossible. There a existential threat to literally all of reality.

Yeah, the cultivators found elsewhere would only get the chance to change their ways if they’re at least somewhat decent people, the horrible ones would just get killed. Demons that ‘exist’ to tear down reality are a level beyond even the vilest of outside cultivators, and even if it was possible to make them change their ways, you’d have to completely erase everything about them, at which point you might as well have destroyed the demon and created a new person.

Exactly. Its much safer for everyone and quicker just to kill them. If given half a chance they'd take it and use it to bring whatever they can down with them.

As you've implied so far, I would be more worried the Dark Souls and Demon's Souls soul devouring perks would cause some kind of deviant consequence to take place. My Souls knowledge is sloppy, but Demon's Souls was mine and greater souls from those are more valuable as reagents than pure power.

Adding together everything you've described:

>Soul Gathering (Demon's Souls)

You eat Lilith, steal her supernatural powers pretty directly. That includes an AT Field which may or may not be as strong as an S2 engine, but which is certainly strong enough to pilot an EVA at base. (See: Rei)

Before further calcs, that's IMO [Inconclusive, leaning No.] But you have more than that, so let's keep going. With Soul Gathering, the soul of Lilith will likely detach from it when you kill it as part of consuming it. Assuming this process does not interrupt it in some uncertain way, this means Lilith's body as you consume it is inert. It has no AT Field by itself to steal. Instead, you would be stealing the physicality of a Seed of Life, which is a whole other can of worms.

The Soul of Lilith can likely then be consumed properly in a divided form, which would also proc Stolen Might and effectively recombine the two within yourself. You would not only gain her AT Field (however strong that is) but most of what makes her a Seed of Life outright. This is probably much stronger than an S2 engine, seeing as a sloppy recreation it in the form of Giant Naked Rei was basically a transhuman existence unrelated to material physics.

I *thought* it would be ok, but looking into the notes the jumps seems to frown on getting Adam/Lilith powers at all:

My Evangelion builds always end up weird, but I guess it's either this or swapping out Natural Aptitude for Dirt and a Secondary Field? By the way, any suggestions for S2 Engine alternatives, for those who like endless power sources for AT-Field powers but don't like big red weak spots that explode when hit?

I think it was made very early into jumpchain, you tend to find weird restrictions in those jumps for things that were seen overpowered in the day but have been left behind by newer jumps.

It'd also explain why it doesn't even have a canon companion option. A bunch of different import options and a pet, but nothing for recruiting a canon character.

I just sighed a little here. I am a nasuverse fan and so now I have to bitch about Nasu for a bit. Nasu hates the Trope of the strongest of the guy who always wins so he tries to subvert it seemingly whenever he can. This is why Gil seems like a Jobber. Gil actually had more firepower than Sakura. Gil on paper should have won that battle except Sakura was strong against spirit type beings like servants because of her imaginary numbers affinity and her absorption ability powered up by the black grail. So not only was Shirou and EMIYA a perfect counter to him but Sakura too was kind of a counter. The strongest servant and yet there were 3 people in the story who were wandering around who could shit on him. For Gilgamesh, as you say, its a compatibility thing, but also an over-confidence thing.

On one hand, every servant summoned by the Grail is data housed in a vessel born of the Grail itself. This inherent'y makes them weak to the Shadow, a manifestation of the darkness that has essentially become the Grail for all practical purposes. Unless you have a very, very good compatibility counter, no servant summoned and supported by the Greater Grail is going to defeat the Shadow. Escape it? Possibly. Stall it, yes. Defeat? No.

Beyond that though, Gilgamesh tends to use the barest, faintest echo of his clairvoyance exactly once per person, in this gaze manifest as just being really really good at sizing people up. Once he's made his assessment of you it's pretty much set unless you violently shove a big change in your value in his face.

And Gil met Sakura about when the VN begins, and Sakura grew a LOT in those few days between their encounter on the street (when Gil told her to kill herself). Gilgamesh specifically measured his attacks out to kill the Sakura he met on the street, not the Sakura he encountered in the alley.

So when Sakura went down in a heap, he was confident that he'd done what needed to be done to mortally wound her, and turned his back on her. Which was his mistake. Because she had grown, and she only needed that single, tiny opening to swallow him whole (the anime added the whole 'he stands there for a few good seconds after Sakura eats his leg' thing, in the VN Sakura just insta-gibs him the moment his back is turned). And Gil still almost beats her, with her having to break his spirit core down into raw energy rather than turn him into an Alter like she wanted to. Had she not been as quick, he very well would've torn his way out of her like a chestbuster.

The latter one can be boosted via power evolution or by just stacking superpowers pre fusion
Yes fusing with other versions with the cabin will make you ridiculously powerful and you can fuse the cabin itself

the way its written I assume its the former, though it wouldn't neccesarrily apply to breathing techniques from other settings, like it probably does with some that can be used continuously like Hamon or Demon Slayer Breathing styles, but some that are only used for temporary boosts when using techniques probably wouldn't.

“That doesn’t mean we should just give up! What am I saying? YOU?! Give up?!? Are you hearing yourself!?”

There is always a certain predictability to monomyths, I’ve learned. An ebb and flow that anyone with eyes to see can ride, like a surfer catching a wave.

Here’s one: Beings in an ordinarily, primarily American world encounter a wondrous force beyond their comprehension. The force embodies many things, but mostly they know of it as “the shiny man from space who teaches people how to karate chop trucks”. Thus the superhero age restarts as if it never ended, in wonder and the inexplicable. People aspire to things. They stand starstruck. This has all happened before.

One of the most influenced is a nebbish surfer before the marvellous magician Annataz bestows a wondrous transformation on her. She is insecure about her transformation mogging her hard-earned athletics until she comes into contact with the stranger visitor. She is empowered. She is inspired. She becomes STRENGTHMAIDEN, HEROINE OF THE BEACH! and gets vengeance on some bully who kicked sand in her face. This has all happened before.

Perhaps, as is oft the case with intelligent men and impressionable young girls, they are more than just coach and athlete. Or perhaps not. It’s more important to validate homosexuals, in this one.

So STRENGTHMAIDEN leads the new wave of resurgent heroes as powers are discovered, and STRENGTHMAIDEN also becomes the one to ensure cool heads prevail and overwhelming evil is punched. In the distant future, a Space Amazonian colony of admirers and distant descendants will assist STRENGTHMAIDEN in defeating SOL MALEFICUS, ENEMY OF THE BEACH, and also in rediscovering me after I am thought long lost.

In short, the narrative weight of STRENGTHWOMAN’S inspirational legacy indirectly gives me a permanent foothold on the shape of things to come despite the story’s best attempts at relegating me as an obscure impotent mentor character.

One of the most significant consequences of the event known as BLACK HAMMER ONE MILLION is the eventual CRISIS ON MULTIPLE NARRATIVES. Throughout all this I have been harrassed by the Crazy 5: A team of 5 different parodies of powerful chaotic forces from across the greater multiverse. Spark the Electric Jester! The Tanzanian Twister! Squeenctch, Lord of the Deranged (and known little dog-getter). The Smoker. And Deceasedbottom, the Assassin who’s an Ass.

Our clash results in the arrival of STRENGTHMAIDEN and the LINEAGE OF MIGHT arriving to my aid. STRENGTHMAIDEN publicly calling out the Crazy 5 reveals them as fundamentally selfish, destructive individuals instead of the freedom-loving do-gooders they’re otherwise portrayed as, weakening their narrative. There’s this whole arc where STRENGTHMAIDEN briefly becomes evil, corrupted by the chaos energy into WEAKNESSWAIF who sadistically uses the evil of superior brawn to oppress others instead of protecting sacrosanct self-improvement; as is tradition she goes through a makeover and acts more like a dominatrix. Eventually the ZERO GAINS crisis shocks her to her censes (she also becomes a cosmic ghost because reasons) and she enters an antiheroic arc before redeeming herself.

And with THAT out of the way, I can turn my attention to the problem of Anti-God simply refusing to stay down. Taking inspiration from the Sonic allusions forcing their way into my narrative I concoct a STRONG PLAN with STRENTHMAIDEN: I send her to the past when Anti-God first invades right when Joe quits, then in the present I call in the Justice League from an adjacent dimension (yes really, there’s a canon crossover and everything) while I myself attack a future instance of Anti-God in the far future with the powers of a subsumed alternate worth of the hammer.

It really just boils down to everyone going BAM, BAM, BAM on the big rock at different points of space-time, though.

There’s no more heroes. Just my pawn and retirees.

And then, I win. My powers manifest the 4th wall breaking abilities of another superhero, and using THOSE I gain the capacity to write my own narratives.

“Hey, we did it! We saved the world!” said Jessica Simmons, formerly STRENGTHMAIDEN, executing a classic MCU superhero landing.

“We did” I said. “You played your part well”. Her beaming, slightly flirty smile faded as she stared out at the mechanised world. “Wait…what?”

“Saving the day. Your entire heroic storyline. I used your life of superheroics to destroy the system of adversity that created a need for superheroics” I informed her.

Jessica stared out at the now mechanised, orderly world, feeling a strange sense of loss she couldn’t quite define despite still having her powers. She sat down on the beach, vaguely disoriented by a sudden end to all adventure. There were no more waves.

“…I erm, believe I need a moment” she mumbled.

"So why Venti as a name anyway?" Minerva asks one afternoon. Taking some time away from her duties for today given it had been mostly uneventful.
"Well it was given to me. Truth be told. My master gave me it."
Venti explains a bit embarrassed. Having been pulled from his training for the afternoon. Though given he had spent most of his late morning and lunch time being given what he suspected was just a small house's worth of weight to lift and try to adjust to in the form of magical weights and chasing after spirit gazelle at the same time... He welcomed the diversion.

"Really? You didn't pick it yourself?" The khan asks surprised. Tilting her head.
"No I probably wouldn't of named myself after a coffee cup personally." Venti jokes shaking his head, plucking at the strings of the Dombra he was practicing with as they spoke.
"Uh Venti is a type of coffee, right? I'm not misremembering that from back home?" He asks after a moment.

"Close enough." The khan says. Pursing her lips together and looking down at him. She Questions further.
"If you didn't choose it though. why use it?"

"Well even if its for a cup and I didn't pick it. I sort of like it. "Venti". It sounded... exotic to me. I was in a new world. I could be anyone practically. So I decided to use it
"Is that so? Then if that's your will. I can understand doing so." Minerva nods. She stares at him for a long moment before breaking away. Looking out at the plains beyond.

"So... what about you?" Venti wonders. Trying to move the topic from his own name.
"Minervas a pretty grand name. Though I guess its nice to have ambitions as far as they may be."

She scoffs but grins at the question.
"My answer is simple as well. I picked it because I liked it. It has history meaning even if its a meaning known to scarce few. And like you said it is... aspirational. Minerva means me in this world, and I take pride in that."

"Do you have any dreams? Anything you want to achieve in this world?"


"Well its silly but... I really would wish to see as much of it as possible before I die." Venti sighs looking towards the pristine blue sky.
"Always wanted to travel. Never could before, so now that I can. I want to see every corner of this earth."

"Really? Thats such a simple thing." Minerva mutters. "And you speak like you're not a cultivator. doomed to die. Is that really all you wish for venti?"

"There are other things but..." He lets out a long exhale and shakes his head.
"They don't sound that impressive. I'd like to understand myself. Truly who I am one day. Accept that if I can. I want to not die with the regrets I might have otherwise had... If I can do that, I hope to that will give me contentment."
Venti smiles a little bittersweetly thinking about it.
"And as for the whole dying thing. Well, I may be a cultivator, but I am still mortal. Immortality if I reach it at all is still a long. Long ways away. Best not to... count my eggs before they hatch."

"I suppose there is wisdom in that answer. You believe in it at least. Though You're a strange one Venti."

"Well... I am mortal... and hylians... really aren't that different from humans. I can assure you of that. my ears are just pointier. It... wasn't some fundamental transformation or anything"

"There had to be more then just your ears becoming like that." Minerva doubts frowning

"But it is!" he protests shaking his head.
"Well sure I became a bit shorter, and my face is different but those aren't inherently coming with being hylian I think."
He reaches up tugging at one of his ears. Wracking his brain for something else, when maybe... just maybe something comes to mind

"Well... there is one thing. But I'm not sure if its because of the hylian thing." He whispers unsure.

"Yes?" The gerudo asks motioning for him to go on.

"Well... ever since I became a hylian. Sometimes rarely... I'll hear a voice. Not often but sometimes it... tells me things. Sometimes things that aren't useful at all but sometimes... it can be helpful. Or insightful or just...something I like to know. It's not insanity... I think."
He pauses for a moment before giving a example
"Tomatoes are rare but their grown on the western coast, on the edge of the great sea. Before the flood there. They were common all across the lost continent"

For the first time for venti, Minerva pauses as well. Closing her mouth and looking at him.
"Are... you a oracle?" She questions peering at him as if trying to ascertain some sort of truth from the musician.
"No I'm a bard." He shakes his head as if it was simple

"You-" The khan sighs but can't help but chuckle at that. Nodding. That had definitely given her something to think about
"Yes... Yes you are."

Yeah I figured it was Minerva from the Roman myths. So I got to thinking about the sorts of person who would take that name knowing that.

Aye, Minerva is also admittedly a very ambitious person herself. So her idea of dreams and goals are suitably big. It colors her perspective. Not everyone wants to be Khagan though or should be.

Ah well this I admit was just a thought that came by me. And I'm still playing with the idea, But I was trying to think of more things that'd make Hylians unique especially with how much natural magic or abilities come to the Twili, gerudo and sheikah. But I remember hearing in regular zelda lore that its sometimes said Hylians ears can let them hear the words of the gods.
I sort of decided to try using the concept as a sort of rare racial skill some of them have. It's not quite sainthood or something like that. But more... well the idea was listening for whatever higher spiritual entities may be around.
And if that doesn't work perhaps it is just saint stuff. But retroactive just a little bit given Hylia probably doesn't work fully on linear time anymore. Even if she's not quite aware of venti yet.

Thinking about it, Minerva and Heir To A Missing Throne do have several similarities. Both come from a regular Earth, got swept up in cultivation, and went to another world where they became a ruler. Also they both started out as men but became women thanks to their cultivation. The main difference is Heir cultivated before going to another world, while Minerva did it the other way around.

Yeah. apologies if that seemed unwarranted mostly just playing with ideas. For all we know so far a deity's consciousness is operating on multiple levels. Even if they haven't met or taken notice of someone yet.
Though admittedly when I think about it maybe this does veer a little close to chosen one territory a bit. Though of the three triforce characters venti falls a lot more in the zelda camp by default then link or ganon. Though he's getting a bit more linkish then when he started.

I actually considered a scene a bit of minerva trying to enter ventis dreamscape one night but actually. With how much of a fortress it actually is at this point in preparation for the soul effigy manifestation.

Yeah its a difference in personality ultimately. Though he could use a bit more drive. He's learning though. Minervas a spark ultimately in a way for some more ambition.

I'd be alright with that comparison. It fits. Wind waker and Skyward sword soundtracks are also what I listen to mostly when I write these scenes anyway. Helps put me in a zelda mood to write.

It would! I don't want them to just feel like immortals+ and I don't want Immortals just to feel like mortal cultivators+ So I'm trying to find a good way to represent each realm.

Hmm not a bad idea. I imagine the standards for getting into a sect really aren't that hard usually. Hell Venti managed to do it mostly in a year. But I imagine the Imperial cultivation academy would be immensely prestigious. Where all the big clans and powerful people would send their kids or disciples.

Related to that I was considering a bit on and off of Venti doing a stint in the civil service as a minister of some kind eventually after becoming a saint and befriending Zelda. Before being archon I mean.

I was thinking about people who are lacking in some moral aspect that a cultivator is expected to have, but who are willing to put in the effort to improve. That said, I suppose dropping that to 100 years might be reasonable.

Potentially. I was considering using gods in the mythological sense a bit as inspiration for immortal. Like Athena or hermes and such for immortals and by the time they actually get to deity tier its somehow much greater then that. Something proper incomprehensible by mortal conception

I can see that! It'd line up well with cultivation in general and Hyrules approach to it. All about building each other up it extending to mortal society to is only natural. Cultivation would be seen as a way to climb the social ladder though.

The chairs are all enchanted to be very comfortable and support the person sitting in them, and sound is dampened so you can talk without disturbing others.

Funnily enough probably possible and a lot faster for her then it'd be otherwise. I sort of think among immortals Zelda (The Empess) stands head and shoulders above most other grand immortals. Both just from sheer power accumulation even being stuck in the stage. And because of her position. She's probably near lesser deity in magical and physical strength if not in sheer existence.

Either of these could work. But I think I lean to the former. It'd help explain the pure vitriol to demons beyond them just being a existential threat to. Demise is still chained up deep beneath Hyrule castle after all. Probably has bits of himself also sealed away across Hyrule to try and lessen him.
And I could see it giving weight to both Hylia and the Empresses "Never again" attitude with threats.

Considering potentially the daughters spirit still surviving in some form in the original master sword as a Fi expy as well.

Loading screen tip: Within the lands touched by the Golden Goddesses influence. Certain things tend to echo in a way. The names of important people throughout history and often times there appearance. Or even events themselves line up to be oddly similar to what once happened in the past to those who know.

Sounds like a solid enough plan. I'd of done FF14 first but thats because its the only one I've played seriously. That would probably get me killed at some point though.

I finished touching up a few of my older chain jump writings, with my Last Jump being Divine Dungeon, where I created an Island dungeon that opened into an endless sea and Island, that used Sea Caves to open into more oceans with more Islands, including the toxic sludge Islands where I had hidden my core in a great lake of that stuff.

All while starting a new nation by just being an abyss of space and resources, forming a Pirate Republic off the wealth that can be gained from the Dungeon, which also formed a religion worshiping the Abyss around it. With my Dungeon being copied as I turned an Elf apprentice into a Dungeon Core to take over the Copy once I left that world. And for now, stuck on where to go next.

He's from FF5, and is caught in a dimensional portal at the end. I think his next appearance is FF8, where he gets Odin's sword, but he seems to have already traveled a bit after that. No idea on any strict timeline.
