Yes, she can give out orders via pheromones, but there are many recorded instances of hives killing their own queens if it is in the hive's best interest. So the dragon at the top needs to remember their job is protecting and safeguarding the nest, not being a pampered and spoiled lay about. I am sure some pampering and spoiling happen, but that is a treat, not the expectation.

So i wanted to do kobbolds for my setting with the caveat that they were a artifically made species, originally made by the dragons by infusing clay dolls, their essense and elemental magic, so far i got the more lizard bolds for fire and the dog-bolds for the earth element, maybe bird like for nature to represent the wind and something like bioluminecent fish for water? i got no idea what to do for light and dark tough.

You can even use Kalfater, a ginger water kobold with green teeth that smokes and appears to sailors before tragedy. Just add fish scales or mollusk mucus and you have a fleshed out monster.
