is there a way to watch if for free without waiting until Monday? DDL, torrent, etc?
I never followed CR before this campaign, but I figured I'd give this a try. I felt this ep was a bit of a mess, but I think that's expected having to introduce so many characters.I'm hoping future eps are more like "These characters are in this ep" instead of people swapping in and out.It was also a weird deep end we were being thrown into.
>>96676789It feels weird to me that most of the characters seem to already know each other and have a deep history, I think it works much better for introductions of a new world and new lore if you've got people meeting for the first time to learn about each other along with the viewers. But I think they split into 3 separate groups post episode 4 so the swapping issue should cease come that point.
>3 Paladins>2 Warlocks>2 Wizards>2 Rogues>1 Ranger >1 Sorcerer >1 Bard >1 Druid >1 Cleric >1 Fighter feelsbadmonk
Anybody got a link where I can watch this for freezy?
>>96676656>Why are the stats so buffed?"collaborative storytelling">why do they lie about their rolls?collaborative storytelling>why do/will all the PC deaths play out as if they were plotted by the player and/or DM?collaborative storytelling>why are there no honest consequences?collaborative storytelling >why does every encounter seemed rigged?collaborative storytelling>why do even the campaign outcomes seem predetermined?storytelling/scripting by DM >why do players after a decade either still not know basic rules or blatantly ignore any downsides of them?collaborative storytelling>why does that one guy constantly show every other behavior that would get him kicked from a real game?Because Critical Role has never been, or ever will be a real game. Of course such control freaks and phonies historically repelled by TTRPG, are trying to destroy/redefine it, instead of simply giving what they do another name.
The players are going to arse about and do stupid stuff but suffer zero (0) consequences. Calling it now.
>>96676656theres 3 normal characters and 1 "passable" character.
>>96678058retarded faggot. seethe, cope, dilate, etc
Great episode, I loved the energy everyone brought to the table (except maybe Aabria whom I usually like a lot but her main character syndrome was very obvious this time). Can't wait to see more
>Those CharactersUtter tumblrfaggotry>Those ClassesLiteral normies>Everything already been prerecorded and vetting by BezosLmao, DOA goyslop
>>96676834that's actually interesting, I wonder what the interactions of the 3 paladins are going to be like
Man, this is gonna be a tough campaign as an Aabria Enjoyer. Her & Brennan have incredible scene chemistry as DM/player, shes great in Ravening War, The Seven, Worlds Beyond Number, and CalamityAs a new fan from the D20 end of the pond, you guys are some next level haters. I dont understand it, but I respect the passion at least
>>96676656Which one of the new characters are trans? Is it the fairy or that tiefling in the bottom right?
>>96679061(you) are
How are there paladins?Wasn't this world one where they slew the gods for whatever inane atheist reason?
>>96678932>As a new fan from the D20 end of the pond, you guys are some next level hatersYou will find 90% doomposters and haters here. Its not quite the same level of scorned lovers you will find with settings like World of Warcraft over at /v/ but its close. Just expect the average discusson to revolve not around the plot, but about Eceleb shit aroung Liam and how Matt is a crossdresser and a cuck (source: trust me bro)
>>96679189I believe Ashley's character is a paladin that still worships her elvish goddess and is mighty salty that they are dead. They describe it as her wearing a veil of mourning.
>>96679189That's part of what interests me, there's a lot of room to explore the nature and point of divinity from the perspective of people serving "concepts" or abstract forces of nature without personification
>>96676834I guess no one told them monks are a lot better nowThey also removed a lot of the flavor and class features that pigeonholed you into being a lame shaolin monk specifically so it is a bummer nobody chose to be one
>>96678932how the fuck can you stand herim not even racist but she is constantly antagonistic and taking all the space and the only reason nobody calls her out is for fear of being called racisti could make a full table of black players that are far better than her just from all the CR guests over the years
>>96679200>>96680646that looks like a ctrl v reddit comment lads
>>96681003>implyingReddit fucking HATES Aabria
>>96680646idk how you can say that in an episode where Aabria is the first to willingly leave the table so that the story can naturally progress.Compared to Laura who interrupts Robbie's monologue even though its Robbie's only scene in the episode.
>>96676656I want to bed the pink tiefling nun!
Would this have been better in Daggerheart?
>>96683186No, because it's got fuck all stats for the CRgoyim to fap over. It would also require effort from the cast to actually learn a new system. Can't wait for this clownshow to just be mid and then forgetten
What's with everyone here being such grumpy soul niggers who hate on everything even when it's clearly good? Yes, I'm a newfag to /tg/
>>96683230See yourself out
Lol you can tell by the rate the CR thread moves how dead this board is.
>>96683230hating popular thing is contrarian and makes your lizard brain think you are a cool rebel going against the stream of mindless sheeple
>>96683280I watched the Vox Machina cartoon. It's good mind-numbing slop. I would more say people who hate CR hate things that are mediocre, but popular.
>>96683281its more like /tg/ hates whenever games are getting broadcast in any way. They'd rather people keep their games in the basements.
>>96676656They've just completely abandoned any idea of it being a west marches GAME. It's just one big radio theater show. And still making it nearly five hours long for the first episode is absolutely crazy.I mean, it's impressive that Laura can cry on command, but also wildly over the top for a character (the dead guy) we have no emotional connection to up till now. It's just an artsy showoff.I'll want to see one episode of when they do smaller groups, but so far it feels like it's the worst of both brennan and critical role, rather than the best. However, this might be exactly what critical roles main audience wants, but I'm not sure. The Calamity minicampaign this is not.
>>96683473It’s going to be West Marches, the first 4 sessions were always planned to be the entire group>>96683230Take your pick between>CR genuinely sucks now>/tg/ genuinely sucks now
>>96683280>>96683281>>96683326CR (and by that VM) is the most normie, faux edgy goyslop and i HATE that it's a popular as it is
where can I watch the first episode for free ?
>>96676656>>96683473>Laura crying - performing>"my character is crying" - role-playAll but one are failed actors. They shouldn't be so over-confident. Do they not even have the self awareness that this is acting out is cheesy as hell (and usually creepy in Liam's case)? I have some scripted stats and items for my PC too and I want to RP slapping the shit out of Liam's PC. >nat 20What do?
>>96683596>the first 4 sessions were always planned to be the entire groupthis, brennan said he has plan for the first 4 sessions to get things going, but after that it's in the hand of the players where the story will go
I haven't watched campaign 3 or 4, but jfc aabria really tries to insert herself into every scene and conversation. the others visibly ignore her at timeswhy did they invite her to this campaign when they look like they're annoyed by her alread?
>>96685208take a guess
>>96685334can't be the toke black chick when she herself looks like the orc she's playing
>>96683186As someone who plays DH, no. The system is fine for a single table campaign, but WM? Not sure how well this will play out, as fear can be spent on things that could influence a larger narrative, instead of players going into the playground and doing it entirely on their own. The DM would be stifled, and the world would have to be insanely complex to accommodate the different kind of storytelling. I am the DM, so I had the high IQ idea of actually homebrewing an entire kingdom instead of for example plopping them into the Forgotten Realms with another system, so right now I am stuck designing a story for four players, let alone for several tables, and then connecting them in a meaningful way.The system flows better than D&D mechanically. Of course, contrarians hate it without ever having tried it, all because of "no initiative", which is one thing my table loves, as we are close-knit and not some randoms barging in as newfags and trying to steal the spotlight. Still, the >>96678058 retard has the right idea on this one, as there is collaborative storytelling in all seriousness. The players for example came up with a specific military, where one was a part of as a minor noble, etc. so I weaved it into one of the baronies, which was not originally planned to be there. Now imagine this, but in CR, with all those grown-up drama kids, on multiple tables.
>>96685359>can't be the toke black chick when she herself looks like the orc she's playingShe is appropriating Mexican culture.

>>96676656holy shit those warlocks are the biggest faggots imaginable lmao
>>96690546actually both were great in play, Tal was made to play weird, off-putting, yet endearing characters and not hardcore punks like Ashton
just finished episode one :3~looks like it might be watchable this time once they start "playing" the game
Aabriasisters, our response?
>>96692028some of the normies woke up slightly
How broke is BLM?
>>96692351I think he is just one of those crazy people who love working themselves to death.Idk otherwise why he would subject himself to such a massive project that will get a ton of criticism. And while he has a child. I would just keep the comfy Dimension 20 job and enjoy having a family and pursuing passions
>>96693217When he won who wants to be a millionaire he tried to pay back an off the books severance paiment. You can find on youtube clips of him doing live theatre, cameos in actual plays, and acting jobs, while producing at least weekly CH content. At CH's peak he was also working a LARP sumer camp, teaching little kids how to play ttrpgs or some shit. He did behind the scenes work for most Dropout content during the first years, stuff like making sets and rigging shit, handywork. Brennan is a workaholic
>>96692028I like her in other things but she has a specific brand of reaction to everything she's not part of that makes her "part of" it purely by reacting, she does it several times in the first episode and then there's the butting in like the "I'm listening through the flowers and reacting to stuff I shouldn't know about". That feels bad and I don't like watching it because everyone else at the table is so fun to watch, I was surprised in a good way by Alex and Whitney and Luis has always been great.
>>96692028>moving scenes along so that we may some day finish>makes your the villainhero we need and she can take and all that

How the fuck did they end up with an average roll of 15 for stats? How are any of them going to roleplay their massive INT and WIS scores?
>>96694416I like it. hopefully it gives way for them to pick interesting feats instead of ASI
Okay, let's seeNo I'm gonna ... NoOk I'm gonna get really weird with itGonna do something crazyI'm gonna cast firebolt
>>96693595>"The fall of The Jizzy Fag"yup, i'm thinking classic for this onemayhaps even iconic
>>96676656Woah, why are all their stats so insane?

>>96693595>I'm gonna pretend to cast Detect Magic, but actually cast a Message cantrip to hold a secret conversation with the person stood right in front of meMessage just allows a whispered message over longer distances. You still have to whisper. They could have just had a normal, whispered conversation
>>96693595First roll of the campaign is a nat 20! Good job Liam. And everyone knows what a nat 20 means. That insight check is now mind to mind communication lol
