Easily done in GURPS

>>96683208I don't know any prepublished settings that replicate the Prometheus & Bob Tapes, unless you count Yog-Sothery + Howardian Hyboria, but neither author nor their derived game worlds focus any attention on when the ancient aliens encountered or made humans.

>>96683208Call of Cthulhu adventure anthology Strange Aeons II has a caveman adventure.
>>96683665Oh huh, guess I'm wrong. Does it roll with the notion that humans are just shoggoth turds kept as amusing pets by the Elder Things?
>>96683417Prometheus and Bob was top tier at the time. I still have the tapes thanks to my uncle hitting record every time they popped up.

>>96683223You could have suggested the Ice Age and Time Travel splats if you actually played GURPSPredation is more closely there already though. D6 Planet of the Apes might work too. It has the correct hierarchy already.

>>96683208This is literally the background story to Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Super advanced dragon alien falls to the world, uplifts the cavemen, the cavemen are still cavemen and start unga bungaing each other with WMDs, she tells them to knock it off, they unga bunga her and her children so she drowns them all in a flood save a handful of survivors that live underground and manipulate things from the shadows while being completely retarded at it.

>>96683643Unironically fun movie.Watched it before the depressed guy made it popular.
>>96683208Yor, the Hunter from the Future - unironically fun movie. I think it's based on an Argentinian comic or something.First chapter of Sillage comic, I guess. It's starts alright, main heroine runs around topless. But the series are full of red propaganda, like holy shit, it's not subtle at all.
No alien in this one, but I do recommend it.Lucio Fulci's CONQUEST.Main hero is from hellenic-like culture and has and advanced futuristc weapon - A BOW. He travels a completely barbaric caveman land. It's not the easiest watch, alcohol might help. But I do strongly recommend it for inspiration. It is... an experience.

I have had a campaign idea based on something like this for a long time where a bunch of tribal techno barbarians are the getic key due to controlling all the star gates so you have Type - 2 civilizations completely dependent on enslaving or maintaining a priest caste of what are essentially cave men in order to function.
>>96684530Thanks anon, that's some great nostalgia.
>>96688684That feels like it'd run into questions of why those advanced civilizations don't try to educate those kids into civilized society or just clone a bunch of lobotomized copies. But techno-barbarians ruling over all of the portals is a fun enough premise to find a way to make it work.
>>96690184The conceit I had for it was that the techno shamans all came from a world completely overtaken by a grey goo scenario and their bodies were infused with nanites so thoroughly that they had adapted to control them through a unique spiritual practice of their stone shamans and that no one had ever been able to interface with these stargates besides them and all attempts to replicate their rituals or isolate the nanites failed. All of them with practice can control a silicon swarm but only so finely as to make clubs and spears and small bridges and stone huts. And, of course, move the stone gardens to enter the realms of the "gods".

>>96683208Maybe all those abductions for anal probing go back to one distant ancestor being a bit of a jackass and aliums mistaking dumb prank for a deeply rooted cultural custom.
>>96683208I've been working on a light, skirmish-based wargame called Lords Upon High, where all of the ancient alien lore is true, right down to alien species cribbed directly from ufology. The Anunnaki, the Tall Whites, the Short Greys, the Mantids, and the Reptilians are all trying to carve out a piece of Stone Age Earth while early humans fight to survive. I'm still working on it; the mechanics are similar to World War and Age of Sigmar in that you roll a single die, and the higher roll gets that turn. This creates a sense of asymmetrical warfare. Then there's a dice pool of four to twelve dice for up to twelve pieces at a time (again, a skirmish game). It's the damage tables and HP tables I'm still working on. Hopefully, I can do an indie publication soon.
