signs you have a based DM
>>
We're playing in the Wilderlands of High Fantasy
>>
pure kino ring
>DM creates his own language(s) for his world
>fey heavy world
>campaign includes at least one castle/fortress siege, with PCs on offense or defense
All based in my book
>>
>>96700847
>DM sets clear expectations, and is open to reasonable compromise and changes within those expectations
>DM actually spends time talking with the individual players about their characters before the campaign starts, allowing them to plan things that engage with those characters
>DM wants everyone (including themselves) to be having a good time first and foremost
Good communications and expectations are so important. It makes me sad that some people act like they're allergic to this, when it's a hobby where you play games with other people. Curate your groups and games with intention, to make your outcomes as close to ideal as possible. If you're not having fun running the game, or someone isn't having fun playing the game, then something has gone wrong.

>you have a [...] DM
Each time I visit /tg/, I thank the Fortune that my group gets to play other games.

He is GM.

>DM creates entire conversion of 5E to Dark Sun
>DM reviews backstories and offers feedback to better integrate into the setting
>DM assists in character creation to make sure everyone is ready by session one
>DM tries to engage every player in each session

Hate 5E or whatever, but DM is still awesome

>hematite
Very common and you're dumb, no pun intended.

Plenty of gems that are common are still nice. It's not about the cost, it's about style (even if the advertisement makes it seem more special).

You can actually buy things like this for rather less on etsy these days.
>>
>>96706875
Etsy is the shit.

I've gotten some nice stuff for my mom off it. One seller even threw in a couple random extras. Lotta dropshippers there, but there are a lot of actual people making things, too.

>DM offers real world prizes for conquering his riddles.
>>
>>96700847
We... We...have... fun.
>>
>>96700847
Considering I'm the GM, I don't really know. I do always end up convincing my players that D&D is bad, in every group I'm in.

>"Sorry Anon, no race freaks. Stick to classic Tolkien races."
>"Females may only be healers and bards."
>"The bandit doesn't attack you since you have high AC and instead decides to attack the wizard on the floor."
>"No need to narrate it. Just declare your attack and roll."
>"Damn I love feet."

>GM cancels campaign halfway through; rumors of the remaining prizes showing up at his older brother Todd's place persist to this day
>>
>>96708247
That a great reply. If OP was asking nogames retardation and dick eating.
