>>96704869UW radiation set would be extremely cool tbdesuProvided they didn't just do generic post-apocalypse (which is totally what they'd do)

This card is hilarious. I ended up with a bullshit amount of red mana. I cast prisoner's dilemma 8 times in a row.
There's a guy at my LGS who's a ""tattoo artist"". That's been selling playmats of MTG characters done is american traditional tattoo styles which sounds cool on paper. But I'm like 100% convinced he's using AI and just scamming autists on his commissions. It's gotten to the point where like 10+ people have been bought custom mats from him and I feel like if I say anything everyone is gonna freak. Idk if I should respect the hustle or call him out.
>>96704913sperg more anon, he admitted to using AI tools to alter the art afterwards to meet Marvel's edit requests
>>96704926Where was any of this admission.
>>96704925Respect the hustle. If people like what they're buying there's no sense starting a fight over it, especially if you can't prove shit.
>>96704925Unless you have evidence you sure as hell don't want to accuse.
>>96704917I'd eat a mile of her shit just to see where it came from.>>96704925If other people cannot do such tasks for themselves, and resort to paying another for something that can be reproduced for such ease, they deserve to lose their money. However you feel about ai, it's here to stay unfortunately.
>>96704882You need to train your eyes to look for AI better. This is a pretty basic art fuck up. The most annoying part about AI is that you can't simply call bad artists bad anymore, no they must be using AI. Shitty photobash jobs have been present in Magic for a decade now and only now that AI is around are midwits putting some of Magic's shitty art under a microscope and discovering there's lots of flaws when the truth is they've always been there. The guy who did the Nadu alt art was an AI slopper. This is just a fuck up.
>>96704932When the artist refused to say, "I didn't use AI tools in my many, many revisions of the card." Because that's exactly what he did.

>>96704970>>96704972PIG SUEEIIIIIIIIIII, HERE PIGGIE PIGGIE PIGGIE, COME GET YOUR GOOD BOY PAY PIGGIE SLOP
>>96704933I can prove it just cause there's very clear AI bullshit like fabric turning into skin tones ,or objects melding into the hands. Like very clear AI imperfections that trained artist eyes can tear apart. But the only reason I brought it up is cause the dude keeps asking if I wanna buy a mat and when I say no everyone is like "dude they're so cool why wouldn't you want one?". I'm living in the twilight zone rn.

>>96704982Well, mention those things when you say why you don't want one without making AI sloppa accusations. You could even say these things remind you of AI art and that's why you don't like it, while avoiding starting a fight.
>>96704987>you are defeated for I have depicted you as the basedjak
Can't wait for all these UB sets to be triple priced when they go out of print and don't get reprints due to copyright. The "collector" market is gonna be pokemon levels of bullshit years from now. Reserved list 2.0 is on the horizon.
>>96704974They are probably some of the best basics they have printed in recent years. Sadly the market reflects this.
>>96704974What is your taste? When you mean good you mean good that you like and not what I like, yes?
So now that we are getting sequels to UB sets, when should we expect to see another final fantasy set?
>>96705006Couple years
I feel like UB could be a lucrative gamble if you pay attention to which properties are popular enough and gatekeep the hardest by their parent companies. Based off how long it takes to get a UW reprint & copyright. You probably could flip a $150 booster box into a $1000 after a couple of years when they're no longer available. Take advantage of the piggies.
>>96704982Anon you're barking up the wrong tree this general was infested with etsy coomslop shills a couple months back. Niggas were posting decks full of slop proxies. These ARE the people that guy is selling to.

>>96705062No its definitely not money related as a good deal of anti AI art posts are not from artists
>>96705003Yeah, I'm noticing that now. Might be worth the price sooner rather than later, seeing how crazy other tcg markets are getting.>>96705005Okay, sure, good is subjective, but I'm more fishing for what others describe as good, so your opinion really does matter here.
>>96705006They kind of exhausted all of the big FF names already. The only extremely notable game they didn't cover is Tactics. Also before you ask you're never seeing a Kingdom Hearts UB, even SE doesn't dare to fuck with that series and it's technically their series, disney lawyers are hell
I'm starting to think "Mister Negative" is borderline broken in the 99. I've been seeing it played as a endgame bomb or commander value engine a lot lately. And it's consistently really good.

>>96705276>we're getting TMNT next yearI've seen this mentioned a few times. Is it a joke or was it confirmed that we're getting Turtles? Was there some leak?
>>96705380Heavily implied via marketing, we know that the upcoming UB set that is unannounced will be a nickelodeon property, and during some marketing bit where they said they would announce it at the upcoming comicon they used some phrase that people connect to TMNT
>>96705389>we know that the upcoming UB set that is unannounced will be a nickelodeon propertyI completely forgot about the Nickelodeon trademark thing we had heard announced a while back. I thought it would be further Avatar or something else more general. Turtles does sound about right. If they were ever going to do them I'd have thought it would be a couple cards as part of some 80s cartoon Secret Lairs. Didn't think it would be an outright set but I guess there's been enough versions of them to make something work. Part of me still sort of hopes we'd get some 80's cartoon stuff with ThunderCats and He-Man.
>commander night at the lgs>usually buy in for the night is a pack of the latest set, didn't do this with FF due to selling out of product too quickly to sell loose packs of it>spiderman releases >not only do we get a spiderman pack for the price of a normal pack, we got TWO packsJesus this shit must be dire. >>96705600Thanks. I did a check but I was just checking with things that had shadow and could block. Still haven't entirely learned the syntax. Looks like it's just not a thing yet in the game. Things that can let other things block as if they had shadow but nothing that has shadow innately and can block as though it didn't.
TMNT is the only nickelodeon property with multi generational appeal
>>96705601I wouldn’t rule it out for next year honestly. I think TMNT is more in line with the millennial-gen X nostalgia of Transformers, Jurassic Park, and Ghostbusters, but who fucking knows anymore. Rugrats UB, why not? Let people cast Murder targeting a literal infant, I never did like Dill Pickles anyway. Make Angela orzhov Artifact aristocrats, why the fuck not?
How is this 20$? Is this even good? It feels like you'd have to have a very specific deck to use this
>>96705673Practically all the good red draw spells are "exile cards from the top of your library, you may play them this turn"It goes in anything using those draw spells quite comfortably
>>96705673It was barely 4 dollars before doctor literally who came out. I blame whoshit
>>96705681I guess, but if you are casting 3 CMC spells and dealing a modest amount of damage, it seems not all that great. 20$ great. I feel like you need a lot of exile effects and also shit like treasure cruise
>>96705673Pretty much every set has some kind of red legendary creature that cares about casting from exile or puts cards into exile that you can cast.
>>96705700It's low investment, is fairly sticky due to being an enchantment and is generically applicable to any deck playing red exile draw spells or which has a commander that casts stuff from exile. It's not even remotely difficult to do 20+ damage with it, which is a great rate for 2 mana.
>>96705734>fairly sticky due to being an enchantmentNot really. It stops working if your commander dies
>>96705757yeah but this doesn't destroy iti'll be back in action soon
>>96705601a good chunk of tmnt is just NEO

>>96704974No one can convince me this isn't the best swamp ever printed

>>96705423>go to store>play in their space for 4 hours>dont buy product>buy singles online/proxy everything>"why are LGS's dying out?"
>>96706200I don't even have an LGS, we just have a couple of boomers who rent out a small community center for a few hours and rent is divided among the players.
>>96706217Damn I wonder why haha
>>96705405Funny, my LGS is pulling the opposite.>pay $12 to play commander night>you get two packs (more if you win) after leaving>BUT Spiderman is "you get only 1 pack instead of 2" if you want it>literally NO ONE is buying the Spiderman shit>even the collector boosters are just sitting there collecting dust>meanwhile EoE and FF are constantly goneWhat really gets me is we had those Spiderman Hero/Villain gimmicks, and we all refused to use them. I just wish we could get some space between releases of UB stuff, or at least be selective about what gets UB stuff (e.g. only fantasy/magical settings).
>>96706245I live in bumfuck nowhere, Europe. Game stores were not really a thing ever apart from some places that sell board games.
>>96706255Oh that makes sense, LGS's are mostly for mixed race zones like the USA
>>96706251It's the same problem, just with different approaches to solving it. My LGS: >Nobody is buying this shit, so we have to get rid of this shit even if we are only breaking even so we can wash our hands of this and stop having it take up spaceYour LGS: >Nobody is buying this shit, but I refuse to take a hit to revenue, so we are going to push it even harderIt sucks either way, but you can probably learn something about your LGS from how they handle it. This set really was a fucking disaster, huh?
>>96706285The only Standard set that's selling for less is Aetherdrift. If they just put in some commander decks instead then most of it could be avoided.
Do people actually play commander at game stores, like, with random people? I have only played at the house of friends or friend of friends who invite people over for the weekend.
>>96706385Yes? Depends on the LGS, just call them and ask what events/nights they have or see if your store has a website with some form of schedule posted.
Marketing obviously kinda sucked for Spiderman, but I'm wondering if WotC just overestimated its popularity as a franchise. It feels like many people just like Spiderman as a character with Peter Parker and maybe Miles Morales or Venom on top of that, but only a small minority cares about the rest of the characters.
Girls that play commander are the easiest girls in magic. They are clueless, can't keep up basic triggers, are easily impressed and get really excited when they win. So if you wanna get laid. You should focus on play exclusively commander.
>>96706403I sleep in a big bed with my wife
I also sleep in a big bed with anon's wife.
>>96706402It was originally planned as an aftermath sized set, which was probably a reasonable idea, but they learned the hard way that nobody wants those, so they quickly filled it with a bunch more draft chaff and called it a set.Turns out they had another hard lesson to learn.
>>96706473Aftermath sets would have been fine. I'd honestly like a small set with tiny boosters for like 1.50 dollars. The issue was that were trying to sell it as a full priced set for maximum overjewery.
I was thinking about making a deck themed around pic related, but wasn't sure what direction to pull it in. My thought was something in either grixis or jund colors since both have dragons and cards that reference storms or tornadoes. Definitely want black, that seems like the only given thing.
>>96706402I think the failures are despite the IP's popularity. If WotC had planned from the start for the release to be done in the same way as Dr. Who (4x commander decks + collector boosters) it would have likely sold pretty well and made a modest profit. The problem is that WotC as a business does not want a *modest* profit, they want giant returns and wanted to emulate LotR's runaway profit, so they felt they felt they needed a draftable product. The problem financially with just making a "precon-first" product like 40k, Fallout, or Dr. Who is that many players will just buy the precons they want and not spend any additional money on the set, because they have all the mechanically unique cards they wanted. Focusing on Commander would have also freed WotC to do more interesting stuff instead of having to design for standard legality.
>>96704843>TQ>Cheeky answer (since it got renewed to fit into the 2 year window)Connive but not tied to spiderslop and back in esper rather than grixis. I don't mind it in grixis, but I'd rather have UB+W rather than UB+R personally. W gives access to orzhov cards which is more what I want to be doing.>Not cheeky answerCollect evidence. It's a straightforward mechanic and I think it hardly got the time it deserved. It has a few interesting design spaces already and would love to see it expanded upon.
>>96706488That was always the problem with aftermath sets. It is exactly as you say, a 1/3rd size pack for 1/3rd the price would have been fine, the problem was they cost the fucking same as a normal fucking pack. As always, wotc fucks up and learns the wrong lesson from their fuck up. "I guess players just don't like aftermath sets!" they say, entirely ignoring the above fucking problem that literally anybody could have told them was the fucking problem.

>>96707807You should probably get diagnosed anon no hate
>>96707720You didn't mention casting Cruelclaw's Heist at all in your original post. I'm becoming suspicious of the veracity of your story and I question your moral character.
>>96707846My brother in swine, it was in standard like 2 years ago. Are you one of those newer hogs?
Is this a color bend? Seems redish
>>96707944Who cares about st*ndard?
>>96707912Is casting dark ritual and cruelclaw really changing anything?
>>96707993Good piggy
>>96707846>>96707980>pre bahamut partyweak
>>96707980Kind of want to make this work as a Storm deck, but nfi how to go from casting a rogue warrior and cleric to tendrils of agony
Turbo pig here. I’m gonna make a deck with this dude because of the FF14 and Monster Hunter crossover. Any cards I should consider (obviously aside from non basic lands)?
>>96708030>I pay 7 mana to do nothingIt resolves
>>96708120Yes, I do enjoy myself some shit tier commanders.
>>96708000What kind of autists do you think your dealing with here. Every spell counts.
>>96707846https://archidekt.com/decks/5208128/gatecrashersI have won more times with Maze’s End than I have by swinging with this deck
>>96707777I think this card is pretty solid too. I've used it to do shit like bring back 2 Gary's or 2 Agent of Treachery's. Cool art too.
>>96707846Party just sucks as a mechanic. The cost reduction is pretty sweet though so you could still presumably make a good deck around her.
>>96708292There is kind of plenty of support for it now
>>967080271st Big black mana coffers and ritual2nd Kaervek3rd somehow chain crimes (for example bone gnawer)I already play monoblack removal pile (kaervek as lead) so I alredy play couple cards that make the 0/1 wizards and the black mage rod as a stormy wincon in described way. Destined black mage fits well into my curve and having a creature that has kills players when I kill they guys and offers defence in form of having and giving death touch (since blocking with the mage is not a big loss since you get re-use if you cast copy of it with Kaervek).
>>96708310That doesn't make it good
