I've seen a lot of people complain about a lack of a (good) group here. Meanwhile, /qst/ has multiplayer games as well as solo-character CYOA, often with mechanics and in TTRPG settings. I've even seen people do worldbuilding, evogames, and straight up boardgames on there!

>Would you run or play TTRPG on /qst/? Why or why not?

>Do you have any other play-by-post experiences elsewhere? How was it? Is it a good alternative to Discord hell and normie sites?

>Do you thing the /tg/ and /qst/ split was to the benefit of either board, in the end?

I do. It is surprisingly civil and much more reliable than trying to schedule with a specific group of people for a specific time. In-person games scratch the socialization itch better, but sometimes you just want to play a goddamn game to completion.

See above. It's a pretty mellow, cozy atmosphere without being overly PC-policed or dominated by obnoxious roleplayers.

I've run several sequential D&D style quests there over the last three or four years, and played dozens more.

I've been considering teyi g out Akun/Fiction.live, but it seems too pornbrained and the interface is strange to me.

>Do you thing the /tg/ and /qst/ split was to the benefit of either board, in the end?
It cobtained /qst/ from some of the permanent American Election Brain going in around here, but I think ut was to rhe detriment of both: /tg/ lost a major creative driver and outlet, and /qst/ lost most of its audience and playerbase and fell into obscurity.

i like chatroom play more than play by post

Not on /qst/
But I am prepping to do a hybrid pbp/c and vtt live sessions for a specific 5e supplement to better accommodate the supplement.

But also have been considering it for a West Marches campaign but set in a city of metahumans, so like solo patrols or group teamups to go stop crime and shit while also managing their hero faction if they team up

That sounds highly complex. Where do you do the pbp elements?

It works.

There were four questions, anon.

No experience with qst, so can't speak to any of that. Did play by post on a smaller video game forum that's long since died. Wasn't bad, most of the game was easy to control since traffic was limited and as long as you weren't a retard or obviously hostile it was easy to sign up. Later moved to a private discord just before the website went under. Basically, if you want to do a play by post game, you'll need to regularly keep in touch with the various participants in case they don't post for a while, but other than that it's not terribly different from roleplaying any other way.
