Have you ever been in a Gladiator campaign?
I played a randomly generated fighter in ACKS once and rolled the Gladiator background. Gladiators get bonuses to seduction in that system so I had a harem of female fighter meatshields

>>96725931An entire fucking campaign? No. But I was in a Barbarians of Lemuria game once where we started out as arena fodder and ended up cribbing the scene from Gladiator where Maximus rallies the other shit-tier newbies to butcher the cunts on chariots.
>>96725931Seems pretty boring or at least not any better than a dungeon delving without complex environments.
>>96725931You know I would actually love to see that, but I can't say I have.If you want an adventure with the gladiator experience, check out 'The Champion's Belt' in Dungeon Magazine. It's part of the Age of Worms adventure path, and a very solid stand-alone adventure as a one-shot.
I was a gladiator-aspirant as a war robot in a one shot adventure.
Does helping a rebellion against tyranny that includes escaped gladiators count?
>>96734844That should be the end goal of all gladiator campaigns so yes.
>>96725931Running one right now. It's Dark Sun. The players started as slaves purchased to be gladiators in Tyr. They've now escaped and will (hopefully) be joining the Veiled Alliance, during our session tomorrow. The plan is the Veiled Alliance is gonna give them 3 "things we want to get done" and I'll let the players choose which and how. One is go raid the caravan bringing in gladiators. One is go to the Greybridge outside the city, and win in the arena to earn the loyalty of the trainers that the VA wants. And the other is go rescue dude's daughter who has been enslaved. It'll really be an "overthrow the sorcerer king" campaign (original setting, no prism pentad). But I'm gonna keep gladiators in it as long as I can.Fun so far, but we're not very far in.
