Pic related. 3 generic mana and 4 life to steal something at instant speed? Even if it's literally just "sorry bro, you don't get to have a commander this turn" its so disruptive. I don't get why this isn't at least printed in a bunch of precons

Yeah its problem is that it wants to go in tribal decks, but tribal decks either already have the right creatures in them or don't need it, or they don't do the tribal thing without Leyline. It's a very fine edge.

I've said a hundred times by now, but I desperately want them to print an equivalent that changes all your opponent's creatures instead so tribal-hate becomes a viable way to play

If the StP forces you to both spend another card AND find a way to get the card you just recovered out of your deck/GY, the StP wasn't wasted.

You can waste an StP for 1 mana if you have more self-control than a toddler and don't tap out every turn knowing you have a threat people might want to remove.

Guys, got a question, since we're doing a "jank deck" night at the shop in 2 weeks:
I'm building a Myra Attractions deck, and I want to put a copy of Exchange of Words in there. If I were to use it to swap Myra's box with something else, how do the opponents resolve having to open Attractions, but not actually having any to use?

He's interesting. I tried him out in my Slimefoot deck for awhile, both as a Commander and in the 99. he's a massive factory for aristocrat fodder, but he forces you to only play on your turn to replace your tokens. And the fact that the new tokens are Fungus and not Saprolings means they have no synergy with Slimefoot.

If you're playing in a slower meta, and don't mind basically being locked to Sorcery speed (plus a LOT of protection to avoid wipes/removal), he lets you go full throttle each turn with death triggers, refreshing at end step with new bodies. If he made Saprolings instead of Fungus he'd be amazing

Oh right, yeah no, they restrict it for a reason lol. Imagine how fucking busted exiling all basics from a deck would be in Standard. I genuinely don't know if this was an oversight that they decided not to bother errata'ing or if they thought Collect Evidence 6 would be enough to keep it in check.

Build a discard deck, include pic related as a tutor, wait for someone to discard a basic, search for Cover Up and then give em the jimmies
That's your best hope
>>
>>96733979
It's good in a lot of weird tribal decks that you'd like to include some cards in that aren't explicitly in the tribal.

they didn't use it to win, they used it to secure themselves. If a key piece of your combo gets hit with exile removal, it was a 1 mana second chance. Since decks have gotten even faster, and with condensed redundant wincons, it's a lot less valuable

Sure. Here's what I've been working on recently. Always wanted to get a mono red deck going and after finding an Ivora in my bulk I built something with her. Has worked surprisingly well these last few weeks on game nights. Consistently gets her a lot of 1/1 counters and takes people out with commander damage while doing damage to key opponent's creatures with red sorceries and instants while digging through the deck. Probably still needs some work and I'm sure there are other discard stuff I'm missing but so far I like it.
>>
>>96734441
if it only grabbed basics, it'd be perfectly fine. But grab ANY 2 lands is just too good. Every other Titan had an actual drawback, but not Primetime.
>>
>>96734431
And his best art too. Sun Titan is great.
>>
>>96734417
Bunch of combos with Malcolm Izzet Partners when you turn artifact enter pingers into pirates. They ping, you make a treasure, that loops.

Making wirewood symbiote an elf is a very good way of getting infinite mana and etbs. You play a simic commander and everything being an elf can come in handy as well with priest of titania type stuff. Not amazing but it's a thing.

I was just recommending it for cephalids, nothing else I can think of. Its not that good but it's fine
>>
>>96734345
Huh, people really don't like this card.

Maybe it's just my kind of decks that benefit from it then. I run a lot of grave centric decks, so I have a lot of recursion ready to go. I have a Ghen sagas deck and a Tameshi artifacts deck that don't give a shit if something hits the yard, but do give a shit if it hits exile.

Slivers also don't mind it, since it means you can run some one-off stupid stuff, or load up on mana fixing dorks to make sure you hit WUBRG, to then give the keyword soup to.
The Reaper King also really likes these effects, since now every creature becomes a Scarecrow, meaning you aren't super locked into Changeling Tribal.

the heavy play sleeves have sharp corners on the top where you put the card in, but the bottom two corners are round instead. normal dragonshield sideloader inner sleeves are poking holes through that curved corner, so I have to take scissors or a nail clipper and cut at least one of the corners off the inner sleeve so that doesn't happen.

That has not been my experience at all. I tried those and they split almost immediately. It was genuinely comical. She never had a distinct ethnicity. Peter Laird said she was Asian, and said Eastman would probably say she's mixed-race, and sometimes she had darker skin, sometimes not.
This all said, there was one definitively whitewashed character from the comics, and that's Baxter Stockman, who the cartoon made white but was explicitly black in the comic. Later versions made him black again though.

Your mana curve is really high, you need to consider some lower mana costed creatures. I don't see a whole lot of creatures in here in general. There is no synergy happening here, cut the stuff like hallowed burial (love that card btw) and put in more equipment based things, you have the swords for that already. Just my notes, you have a good basic shell but you need more focus.

Anon. What are they floating mana for if they don't have spells that can be cast at instant speed? If they have spells that they can cast at instant speed why would they want them to resolve after Worldpurge and not before? That sweet sweet instant speed token generation??

Found an updated version.
I've removed academy rector for a Kor Cartographer, and the Adakar Valkyrie for a Truefire Paladin. So the curve is a little down from the 3.39 it's at in this picture. I feel like it has a good amount of removal for my meta, but the only problem I have with this deck is sometimes I get too many lands, or too little creatures. I feel like more card draw would solve that.
>>
>>96735298
Its so they cant cast stuff after the spell has resolved with the mana they would have floated. Im not sure how this is lost on you

>>
>>96735341
>magus of the wheel
I didn't know about that, but I'll pick one up and try it out. If it had vigilance it would really be nice.

Oh and the synergy of the deck is basically any creature can be a threat with a sword + damage increase + Gisela. Adding another one of those is just gravy, and having vigilance on a creature is just the best. Nobody wants to attack you with Gisela up. If any of my threats get wiped out it's pretty good about throwing down another creature, equipping it and attacking for major damage quick, if I don't get a mana flood or don't have a creature, which I said before is the major problem with the deck.

my balmor deck. I finally got to play a couple games with it vs some much stronger decks. They didn't know what my angle was and I was just playing little creatures and playing small cantrips each turn.

i find the issue was that I had to choose between playing my creature or playing a cantrip to bufff my guys, and most of them don't have haste anyway. It feels slower than I'd it like to be.

another anon told me that my curve should max out at 3, and I took his advice to heart. I cut Niv mizzet, and archmage emeritus and some other bigger spells. I'm afraid to make the deck any faster but I think it will only function if I go all in with a lower curve and more token makers.

Any tips bros? I'm trying to go wide with small creature tokens or prowess (think Kitsa or Swiftspear) and running cheap cantrips to maintain tempo and counterspells to protect vs boardwipes

>UG decks with 10 lands on turn 5
>multiple esper sentinels, rhystic studies, land taxes, smothering tithes, etc on the board at once
>surveil and shock lands and thereby fetchlands aren't any cheaper than they were in RTR and Khans of tarkir despite reprints
>arbitray bracket levels that players are forced to accept and label their deck as because they don't understand the brackets let alone their own deck

It seems to me like this game mode was more fun before Wizbro started making cards for the format. The fun, do-big-things decks that used to be the norm are now weak and unplayable. There's no creativity anymore.

Is your goal burning with spells cast triggers or blowing people out with a Balmor boosted sweep? It looks like now you're split a little between the two. If you were thinking sweep I'd add at least a few board wide haste enablers like Fervor or Rising of the Day. Would make all those birds or elemental tokes much more threatening if they can also attack when they enter and get boosted. Considering you're trying to do the spell slinging thing either way have you considered any of the mana cost decreasing artifacts like Sapphire and Ruby Medallion? They could help mitigate having to chose between casting synergy pieces and the spells you want to cast into them.

If I were to make a Balmor deck, it'd absolutely only run creatures that had haste/prowess or created a tapped+attacking creature token and slammed it full of cantrips/trumpet blast cards to double up on the buffs. I bought her precon last friday cause it was 35 bucks and it's the only FF game I completed way back when but after playing it I was surprised to find there's a lot of creatures in it that don't synergise with her (not even Celes, bruh).
I was thinking of adding in a bunch of anthems but I am unsure if I should fill the remaining spots with strong ETBs and go all-in on the aggro side, or go with more stax effects and build a wider board while making my pillowfort.

And if your opponents aren't running exile effects it's just a dead card and if your deck plan relies on making sure one specific spell isn't exiled you have the jankiest of jank decks.

While cards like these can be funny and satisfying to pull off when they fire, the odds of them doing so and mattering to the game are infinitesimally small. It's already hard enough to cut decks down to 100 cards, I'd rather just throw in generic mass protection like Dawn's Truce or spot protection like Ephemerate which have actual use in most games.

Thoughts about playing "rest in peace" effects?
My current favourite deck is a mono black removal pile and naturally cards like pic related and Kalitas (4cmc RIP gives 2/2 zombie) ended up in the list since they give me a thing when I do my 1B destroy dude thing. But sometimes there are games where a RIP on a guy just shuts down someones deck completely, so naturally element of feelbad is introduced and while I think they should just play interaction so their gameplan does not die to a single guy on board it has left a lil bit conflicted about it.

its a necessary evil, as GY decks get an obscene card advantage/selection later on that will just drown you out. There are so many graveyard hate effects that they are the sole reason these type of decks arent auto S-Tier in EDH. But a decent GY player would expect these types of effect and pack more interaction to not just instantly loose to a single creature, or lese they are utterly retarded or the biggest noob in the pod.
I just wish WotC would print the same amount of sensible and meaningful amount of land hate

I get why they're a thing, but I also don't like them. Don't really play any decks that care about their graveyard myself anymore but I did when I started the game so I get how much it sucks to see them and I'd rather not do that. If a grave deck is getting out of control I find it's a lot easier to just focus the player down. Usually at least one other player at the table will see the threat coming and realize that graveyard player needs to be taken care off as well so that player quickly gets knocked out. Also don't really like playing cards that are useless in most other match ups the way graveyard removal is.
