Good morning, saars edition. In the previous thread we have determined:- "Secret Hitler", a social game that is a spin-off of popular "Mafia", is still the best way to RP as Hitler. It is, however, best played in meatspace, and you may find it difficult to convince your apolitical or liberal friends to play a game where the rules, due to random distribution of roles like in Mafia, may require them to play as Hitler.- Call of Cthulhu is probably the second best fit - early XX century Vienna is a very fitting place for Gothic horror, and, of course, Hitler wouldn't be out of place there - but it will be young, naive, bright-eyed artist Hitler, a very different character from the dictator demonized by propaganda non-stop for the last 80 years (young Adolf wasn't even particularly antisemitic and had Jewish friends).Any other suggestions, gen/tg/lemen?
>>96736236One of my mates played a Hitler expy during an Eberron campaign of ours a while back. I wouldn't say 3.5e is the 'best' way to play Hitler but we definitely had a good time rallying the good people of Breland against the filthy gnomish menace.
>>96736236First thread was bad, second one Is going to be worse. I hope you died.
>>96736236Kingdom would work. Three player game only but one of you as Hitler (Power), Goebbels (Perspective) and Rommel (Touchstone) would work.
>>96737314Your life must be miserable if you're wishing ill to someone like that.
>>96739436can’t be worse than hitler’s, that guy killed himself you know
the post that saved /tg/
>>96736236>you may find it difficult to convince your apolitical or liberal friends to play a game where the rulesI went to a far-left ("leftist, not liberal") high school in California and the students there loved Secret Hitler, some of them even delayed a class by over 30 minutes due to a significant portion of the audience (most classes had under 30 students at the very max) arguing extremely loudly about a player allegedly cheating in the game and it must have been surreal for the teacher (who was an Indian immigrant, and likely had never heard of the game before)
>>96736236>>96737314>>96739496Hitler isn't interesting or successful enough to warrant another thread let alone an rpg. He participated in two losing world wars and killed 10 million Germans.Any discussion of Hitler is going to be Wehraboos who simply ignore any inconvenient information about their blessed Third Retch.Just play Axis and Allies. As much mismanagement as you desire awaits.
No shit, I've been bothered by the fact that D&D has 9001 settings, modules, and splatbooks, and has never had a reasonably satisfying "Noble" character class. Political shitpost though it may be, I will be monitoring your thread.
>Me when I play Heydrich
>>96741668>has never had a reasonably satisfying "Noble" character class. That's because modern D&D (aka the version of D&D that will have specific classes) is no longer intended to be a logistics-featuring wargame, and it's audience does not expect to use wargame mechanics. People even thought that 3.5e's leadership feat was overpowered. I think the best way to simulate being a noble or military commander in D&D would be to severely limit player levels (like in E6) as well as the effectiveness of some abilities that would otherwise break the setting, and focus less on one-on-one combat and more on hiring/recruiting soldiers, as well as performing mercenary tasks in order to garner favor from nobles and lords of various races (including elite intelligent monsters such as dragons or outsiders), which in turn enables recruitment of new troops.
>>96741668>No shit, I've been bothered by the fact that D&D has 9001 settings, modules, and splatbooks, and has never had a reasonably satisfying "Noble" character class.why would it? D&D is about adventurers going into dungeons and fighting monsters, not social skills or managing wealth. It's right in the name. Also Hitler was a dumbfuck, for the record.
>>96741782>D&D is about adventurers going into dungeons and fighting monstersno its about roleplaying dipshit
>>96741472>teacher (who was an Indian immigrant, and likely had never heard of the game before)This is probably the worst thing about the story.A curious thing I have noticed, by the way, is that radicals ironically rather more willing to accept opinions that are different from their own, perhaps due to fact that they disagree with most people around them yet must navigate society. So, a Nazi and a Commie might find it easier to coexist on neutral ground than a Liberal and a Conservative post invention of Foolbook.
>>96739464Yes, but at least he killed Hitler.
I could have sworn we just had a thread like this
>>96743855I think people who are actually open minded enough to consider openly holding radical positions are never really 100% secure in their beliefs. They at least understand their perspective can change because, well, it already has changed at least once. People who is completely and utterly dug in aren't usually very intelligent and don't like being challenged. They don't want to change people's minds, they don't think people's minds CAN be changed because theirs never has, so they are just belligerent to those who disagree. Traditional games.
Which traditional game can incorporate Esoteric Hitlerism? It has to be Call of Cthulhu again, right? World of Darkness perhaps?
>>96752194Funnily enough there was actually a radio show a while back where the Starry Wisdom Sect from Haunter of The Dark gets involved with Nazis occultists and they specifically namedrop Savitri Devi.
