FUDGE Deepstate Edition

How do you handle combat in your build? Simultaneous Rounds? Traditional UgoIgo?
>What is FUDGE?
FUDGE (Freeform Universal Do-It-Yourself Game Engine) is less of a system, and more of a toolkit to build one. Features include:
> a unique dice system that's on a statistical bell curve (Meaning Zero is the most likely result)
>a simple and intuitive way to handle differences in scale (size, weight, strength, etc.)
>the FUDGE ladder which converts numerical results into easy to understand adjectives ("My Character is a Great Swordsman" gels easier in the mind than "I have a 12, or three ranks, in my Sword Skill")

Popcorn initiative is best. No rolling: he who says "I attack" first goes first. MAYBE rolling for high noon quickdraw contests.

Unrelated: my table didn't like the ladder. We used numbers, and hitting a 6 was perfectly impressive without needing to say "Legendary plus one".

I did a lot of turn based combat early on but I think simultaneous combat is growing on me.

What do you think of Fudge die "alternatives" like 3d6 or even D20? Keeping the system intact while adapting it for different dice?

Hey OP, here's a list of Fudge resources you might want to add to the "resource" section:

Steffan O'Sullivan's Blog:

If anyone's here be sure to check out EZFudge a fun and approachable build of fudge with some good mechanics.
