So what's the verdict on Blackshields? Are they good or do they automatically lose because they can't score?
>TQWell, I mostly play Legions Imperialis. I would make it so objectives score more as the rounds advance, so that the late game almost always matters.
>>96747573>>Thread Question:>>96745133 Is onto something. At the very least, scoring objectives needs to be at the beginning of the turn. You can submarine a game if you go first by flooding, dodging vangaurd, and generally choking your opponent out of VP.>>96747591Huge Aura, borderline broken as allies if you abuse Reaper or AAF. But huge hobby potential and look fun.>>96747600The new onslaught missions do that and I may see if someone from the group will try one with me next time.
>>96747618What do you mean by "submarine a game"? That usually applies to tournament formats.
>>96747618>Huge Aura, borderline broken as allies if you abuse Reaper or AAF. But huge hobby potential and look fun.please elaborate
>>96747591They can score, they just don't do it by holding objectives, and they can still hold and contest them perfectly well.
>>96747630Its that concept, the goal isn't to score a lot of points its just to keep a lead to a win. There isnt a follow up game, but the score end sup low.>>96747646For Reaper, allies are hyper slot efficient and unlimited in detachments up to points cut. It is very easy to grab say, a Moritat, and a tank detachment and spam pie plates, two fire raptors, or support and spam phosphex. Then yopu can use logistics for a free one-off slot. Moritat is self sufficient and cal also contribute to finishing off units. You pick hyper killy units to finish off or outright kill certain units. Its bette rvanguard AND they dont give up vanguard since they cant contest or control objectives. A Mortifactor with three double conversion contemptors will farm VP and keep them alive.
>>Really getting tired of most games being decided by turn 2 or literally by if you go first or not.>>Trying really hard anona to like this version but holy fuck it's a strugglejust spam 10 man line (2) tactical squads anon, all the nogames say its super fun and peak heresy
>>96747677>the all veteran army in the room salivating
>>96747676>Its that concept, the goal isn't to score a lot of points its just to keep a lead to a win. There isnt a follow up game, but the score end sup low. That's a fair way to win a game, keep the score low and the casualties high.
>>96747688Normally I would agree, but the format now removes most skill expression from that.
Started on my siege termies. Got a sergeant and mook done, gotta flip through my bits at home to see what the gunner gets in melee. I really hope I didn't lose it but I can't find the other power axe arm I kitbashed so someone might need to get a chainfist.
>>96747646nice model
>>96747733And a White Scar centurion maybe for the blackshields I dunno yet.
>>96747701Ah ok. In LI that actually takes effort.
>>96747290Thank you again in the new thread, Anon.
So like, do y'all just not use outflank/deep strike? I'm surprised I've heard no one talk about using it to deal with these apparently impenetrable tactical squads. Is wiping them out turn 2 really just too late to make a difference?
>>96747833Anyone who whines about not being able to shift a tac squad on a objective is either bad or no games. In all my games obj camping squads get wiped and end up giving out fat vanguard pay outs or just mauled with status effects into irrelevancy. Always be status throwing, all the time.
>>96747733Out of curiosity, is there a point in taking siege termies over regular? They don't look like they get any different rules and they cost the same, they just seem to have fewer sergeant weapon options.
>>96747922they can all take heavy/special weapons
>>96747833>DeepstrikeI do. It's fine. For wiping tacs there's so many ways to do that.
should I just arm a saturnine centurion with double disintegrators and let a command squad champ absorb the challenge?
>>96747922Everyone can take a plasma blaster, heavy flamer, or reaper autocannon, but the mooks only get power weapons or chainfists
>>96747863>fat vanguard pay outsHow? Shooting vanguard? Or are players just choosing to deliberately give you free VP by not moving off?
>>96747863I don't think anybody is complaining about not being able to kill them? That's an extremely no games thing to say.The problem isn't killing them, it's that they score points, they die, they get replaced by a unit that scores more points.
>>96747928>>96747984Gotcha, that makes sense...even though I'm not sure why we couldn't get that in Catiphractti.
>>96748023The pic I included was from one of my last games, 2 sets of tacs did what you implied rushing the objective. I spamned them with status to stop them scoring and then mopped them up with vangaurd. I scored twice because of that and then sat on the objective till the justi pushed me off. Was great and good counter play. Can't score if you have a status.
>>96748057Old tartaros FW resin upgrade kits. So old they were discontinued in 1e.
>>96748057Because cataphractii is uglier
>>96748016NTA, but not enough reaction points: even with 3 from taking a praetor, it's not enough to cover also needing to smokescreen, overwatch, intercept, or legion reactions, and preventing 3 points isn't necessarily worth mission killing 600+ points and exposing your praetor for slay thr warlord, or it means that you've now given up the point entirely as my opponent found when I just drove a krios up turn 1, blocked his land raider from moving, and then evaporated his tactical squad anyway between the lightning cannon and the mortar and now he didn't have anyone left to cover his backfield objective, and his tscticals in the rhino he drove up got cornered by my domitar after they glanced the rhino into uselessness, so he didn't score anything turn 2 and 3 despite getting 10 points turn 1.
>>96748070We're talking past each other at this point but if you want to continue you can read what I said instead of what you wanted me to say and we can start from there.
>>96748141you said they score as if its a forgone conclusion, its not, but I appreciate you anon, hugs and kisses.
>>96748093Sounds like poor prioritization. I would use all 3 to deny 9VP from vangaurd. No need for overwatch if charges dont happen. Smokescreen is a scam. What you describe is just move blocking and you outplayed them. They could have just as easily had good AT to punch out your tanks.
>>96747591I want to point out that nothing prohibits a Blackshields Primary Detachment selecting the same Oath twice so you can make Aberrant Clones or 2x Reapers of Lives to get 2d3 VP per kill
>>96748331I don't think that second one works
>>96747677Congratulations, you found out how to cheese out wins against literal retards, much like you could do in the last two editions
>>96748081We'll have to disagree on that. I quite like the blocker look, not to mention they're better suited for long range fighting since they have that 4+ save against lascanons and other stuff that can actually hurt them.
>>96748234But Anon, he only controlled 2 objectives. In fact, in all the missions there's a max of 4 objectives, and 1-2 will always start controlled by the opponent. What the fuck are you talking about?
>>96748234>>96748410Post models.
>>96747683>They don't look like they get any>Phosphex rapiers in the corner literally about to bust a nut.
>>96748410Then what are you talking about? are they spread out on 4 an letting you get vanguard and somehow not scoring 4 objectives?
>>96747833Wait until you find out about interdiction squads that EVEYR legion can take and you can just basically DS a 20 man tac squad for a reaction point into someones back line. Deepstike is to limited is the problem, you basically have to commit fat points to a unit that will survive being shot to shit, or have enough shooting to be worth deploying.
>>96748418
>>96748445Man Phosphex launchers have really grown on me, they are always a pain in the ass to someone.

>>96747591>>96747674Can I make an army of all black blackshields on looted jetbikes?

>>96748744Yes, you would use the killing one plus a flex so each time to kill you get d3 VP.

>>96747573anybody got this thing yet
>>96749558Absouletly baller, though NL are the last legion I would expect with this loadout
>>96749750Mine hasn't shipped yet, because I was dumb enough to order some saturnine terminators alongside it to build a command squad, and those still haven't been restocked locally least played edition by the waySome of the rules and lore pages got posted in an old thread, but don't think anybody bothered compiling them into a PDF
>>96747591They can score quite efficiently. If you take Flesh is Weak you can get both FiW scoring + Vanguard. Also, i was thinking about Pride of the Legion + Flesh is Weak. If you take Endyrr Harr as high command choice you can field status immune veteran breachers that also get infiltrate (12). You could even field them with praevians for reaction but idk if that would be point efficient. Oh, and you can use cybertheurgy for your astartes with mechanicum allied det, only problem with that is that you cannot attach magos to a unit with infiltration i think. However a blob of status immune terminators, with a rad furnace & cortex controller magos would be quite strong (he could also heal 2 models with machinator arrey). You can give your termies WS5 with cybertheurgy, and you could possibly also take a librarian for +2S, +2T from biomancer rage. And that blob of 10 termies would still have Vanguard 3 and score 2VP from objectives.
>>96749916Flesh is weak seems well.. weak. It only really works on swarm units meaning tacticals and despoilers, and those already had Line 2 to begin with. You're not getting much of a bonus on elite units since their model count is low
>>96750137You retain vanguard and have the ability to score based on unit size. Also your units are immune to statuses, in 2.0 i would call it rather weak, but in 3.0 status immunity is huge
>>96750165you score less than normal on units with 4 or less models. And if you're taking Pride of the Legion you're probabling taking a bunch of 5 man terrier squads and the like. Even with 10 man squads, losing just one dude means you score the same as units without FiW, unelss I'm misreading something And Vanguard cucks your scoring anyways
>>96749840These guys and the Phraetus are both really fun units but man, 40pts is a big MSU tax for a squad that gets literally no statistical benefits on its sarge whatsoever. They're still reasonably efficient compared to min squads of regular terminators, but 80ppm for the first two guys is steep.
reapers of lives is great for tank armies because it means you can ACTUALLY score
>>96750212It's an odd scoring rule, but I think the meat of it is total status immunity and Mech friends throwing cybertheurgy on you more than anything else. It's not too hard to pile 15-man squads of whatever into Rhinos instead of 10-mans, since it gives you extra transport cap, but you do eat the tax. My main complaint is that it's hard to do interesting things with Linked Cogitators because basically every non-Line squad has some combination of Vanguard, Support Unit and a low model cap. I suppose there's nothing wrong with Line 1 Seekers, even if they do lose it easily.
>>96750327>MSU taxDunno why you would ever want to field multiple saturnine command squads lmao. A single squad is already a large enough brick to just stand somewhere and refuse to die. Deep strike them in, melt some unfortunate MEQ unit with the AP 3 flamers, then just smash anything that wanders too close in melee.
>take blade of the just>take dreadnoughts and throw them imto melee>if you're bullying anything less than a squad with thunder hammers, you're always going to win the combat and always be outnumbered to score your vpwhy shouldnt I just do this?
>>96750509Dreads don't have Line or Vanguard, so they don't get points for winning in melee.
>>96750551of a unit doesnt have line or vanguard they gain doomed heroics 3, read the rule
>>96750551Read the whole paragraph anon>>96750509I don't see why not, sounds like a cool army of the vestiges of the past trying to preserve the future...as long as you actually paint and convert it as cool army. If you just to run your last edition fury of the ancients army as blackshields your models will get smashed with a hammer while you're raped out back you polish WAACfag
>>96750561Why is it always the eastern europeons lmao
Is there any Blackshields color scheme that isn't just a different colored version of dirty grimdark metal?
>>96750790Did you even bother looking?
Simpler times, eh?
>>96750382It's not so much that I want lots of them, it's that a unit of two is nicely sized and a large squad is sometimes more expensive than I want, considering 2-3 particle shredders can already do a number on most MEQ squads and you don't always want a giant unit of them that's both hard to fit in a transport and hard to get into contact with enough stuff if you deep strike and footslog. Phraetus especially are incentivised to take a big squad, if you pay for the transponder that's 105pts on fixed costs regardless of unit size. I suppose you have to do something to encourage taking lots of those when they eat so much transport space and can't have most characters join them anyway.
>>96750839Good lord, that is the worst conversion of dreadnought using the dreadknight sword I've seen in a while. Thanks for reminding me of how much I hate the baby carrier.
>>96750966What's wrong with it, besides your attitude?

>>96750212Good thing you can take 12 cataphractii
>>96751627Desu I felt the same way about assault veterans: didn't want more thunder hammers because I already had a praetorian command squad and indomitus terminator squad specced with thunder hammers, didn't want twin lightning claws or power weapons because I already had gal vorbak, so I just decided to make ashen circle instead
What loadout should I go with for some morlocks? Was thinking 5 and an iron father in my land raider. Artificer axe + graviton guns? Maybe a fist or two in there as well. The axe seems nice.
>>96751844The Axe should be considered as an alternative to a Power Maul, which is to say its a reasonable weapon on a cheap Gorgon but completely unsuitable for an expensive Morlock. The sad reality is that moreso than regular Terminators, Morlocks want to be Thunder Hammers. Eternal Warrior and WS5 means they hard-counter other Termies. A couple of Grav guns are funny but not as essential as the hammers.
>>96751960The axe is shred 5+, so 5s to wound are AP2 D2. They're not as strong as a thunder hammer but also are only I-1, seems like a decent tradeoff. Morlocks do not get thunder hammers. They get power weapons, artificer axes, chainfist, power fist, and lightning claw.
>>96751978> Morlocks do not get thunder hammersAha ha, fuck me then. That's an expensive modelling mistake. I'd still suggest that D2 is king so Power Fists. T5/W2/2+/4++ EW means initiative modifiers are less relevant and the Arty Axe just doesn't have the hitting Power for the cost.
>>96752028Yeah I guess that's true, if they're face tanking stuff with 4++ and EW then initiative isn't as big a deal, and saving 10 points on a 300 point unit isn't a big deal either

>sanefaggingLmao
>>96752371Nah I'm insanefagging
>>96752371>Minor spelling mistake
>>96752028>>96752078I think you want some axes in the squad regardless if you're building for elite melee arm-wrestling, because a WS5 TH enemy squad is going to kill one or two of your guys on average before your fists get to swing, so they may as well have axes so their deaths are less expensive and they get to make their attacks before they fall over.Five Morlocks with axes will beat an equivalent all-hammer cataphractii command squad by a narrow margin, but fists would beat them by a larger one. I might be tempted to go for three fists, two axes and the grav-shredder on the sarge to reliably Shock vehicles and go gambling against enemy melee units, since it's a very handy Assault gun and if you Pin the enemy you get to fist them before they attack regardless.
>>96752467Yeah the blaster is fine, though with implacable advance assault doesn't mean anything. With the blast rules though it seems like a normal grav gun is almost always going to hit anyway
>>96752488It is, but you want the Shredder because it has two shots, which means you get two bites at the Shock apple against any vehicle. Since Storm Bolters aren't much to write home about against most targets you aren't going to utterly obliterate in melee, you may as well ruin their Land Raider's damage output and lock it in place instead.
>>96752533>Storm Bolters aren't much to write home about against most targetsThey are a stupid amount of shots thoI'm not really sure grav guns would do better against MEQs at least
>>96752304didn't you hear, chud? christmans is canceled in america, there is not dip, everything will be more expensive forever for burgers, regardless of market demand
What situation/cause/person would push for the creation of a "Heresy" pattern of terminator armor?Picrel inspired; sturdy, simple, rather clean/plain, similar vain as Heresy armour (hesitated in calling it too but it'd be confusing to have power armor and terminator sharing the same name).I'm looking for a name for such a pattern, any suggestion appreciated!
>>96752624>What situation/cause/person would push for the creation of a "Heresy" pattern of terminator armor?James has run out of ideas and needs to print more money.
>>96752624There is none, and that shit looks ass anyway. If you want a lower resource required terminator armor designed during the heresy it's called indomitus retard
What's the asethetic difference between a preator and a centurion?
>>96752624This is the opposite of "heresy" armor, it looks like more ornate (artificer?) Tartaros. Heresy gear is supposed to be shitty cobbled together with what they have, not blinged out filigree pimp suits.Disregarding your pic though, I feel like Terminator armor is probably a lot less modular than regular Power armor. Aside from maybe helmet swaps (which might be hard since the gorgets arr have different shapes) I don't think there's cross compatibility between the marks. So "heresy" termie sutis would just be normal suits but with more bonding studs and shoddy patchwork repairs
>>96752604They're a slight improvement, but nobody's bringing grav for the damage output and if you charge a MEQ squad it is almost invariably going to be reduced to chunky salsa regardless of whether you kill one model with storm bolters before charging. The grav-shredder is either for pinning peer melee units so you can win the fight easily or pinning enemy vehicles so they lose a turn while you go and melee other things - the only time you care about the storm bolters is if you need to clear a small number of light infantry without meleeing them, which is a very rare situation for terminators in an assault transport to be in. Grav-guns are nearly as good, but the shredder is barely more expensive and much better against vehicles because it has a 55% chance to shock(pin) rather than 33%, so you may as well take it instead, especially when your sarge has special dispensation to pick one up.
>>96752655Can't wait for them to rewrite Gorgon to be the original and Indomitus is just a poor imitation of Manus' creation.
>>96752672Isn't that already canon?
>>96752672"Gorgon armour that doesn't require you to be borged to high heaven to wear it and is much cheaper to build than Tartaros/Cataphractii" seems like a valid refinement of the design to me.Also damn, Gorgons are 35ppm, come with better power axes, better-than-cataphractii saves and 3A each, maybe these guys aren't so bad even at WS4.
>>96752394That isn't a spelling error, he is accusing anon of making coherent and thought out posts that contribute to the topic and thread in general.
>>96752684Nope. Gorgon is a modification of the Indomitus.

>>96752806Shredder has approx. an 80% chance to force a pin check on T4 infantry, 70% chance on T5 and a 55% chance to instantly pin a vehicle, and the last one is the really big factor there. Gravgun is slightly more reliable against infantry but only 60% as good against vehicles, and because infantry get Cool checks and vehicles don't I much prefer the anti-vehicle status chance.Half the LA tanks in the game will lie down and cry all game if you status them and they don't have a pocket Battlesmith, especially the Kratos.Hell, the Vultarax earns its 100pt price tag almost entirely because it is near-guaranteed to Suppress any vehicle it fires at and a Suppressed Venator or Kratos is just a brick.
>>96752861what do you think are good sources of vehicle suppress for the LA?
Shitty cobbled together heresy terminator amror would probably end up looking like indomitus without an invlun or maybe with slow and purposeful, just take indomitus and give it bonding studs
>>96752748Okay sanefag.
>>96752875Sicaran Arcus chunks termies with the 5 shot S8 AP2 D2 mode and has a decent shot at statusing vehicles with 3 Shock(Supp), Sicaran Venator has Shock (Supp) on its giant anti-tank laser, lots of picks here. Personally I'd take one of each and call it good, especially if you have grav-guns seasoned around the place.LA is much better at anti-AV14 than most other armies, so you don't need to care as much about Shock access if you actually do bring the S10 Armourbane D(Lots) guns. The Mech especially have few counters to a Kratos with a pocket medic beyond throwing a Brass Scorpion in its direction. Admittedly, the Brass Scorpion works on most things, but it's a little drastic.
>>96752912I asked for name suggestions, I don't care what people think of it.You can keep giving your opinion, but you know exactly what I'll do with it.
>>96752939Okay how about "Fag armor for retards"

>>96753039Baddest motherfucker to ever wear heresy armor and he wasn't even in the heresy. The scale on his belt skulls is a bit off though, unless they're like, ogryn or thunder warrior skulls. Actually, how are the jaws still attached?
>>96753039He is very lovely
>>96753057Those aren't orcs? Look at that underbite
>>96753057>Actually, how are the jaws still attached?Screws? Glue? They've attached the chain, somehow, so clearly these aren't just heads picked up and tied to his belt with their hair or some such and then left to rot, but items that have had some work done to them.
>>96752624>>96753039Tortuga released a bunch of Terminator armour variants, based off of the various power armour marks. Pic related.
>>96753057He's not wearing heresy armor, he's just wearing a lumpy indomitus suit.
>>96753182>based off of the various power armour marksAll the designs are more or less lifted from old GW terminator designs and thinly associated with certain suits of power armour.
Is there ever a point to going dual-gun or dual-melee on Dreadnoughts? Seems like one of each is the perfectly balanced option.
>>96753283Which is very neat, and shows a through line that GW itself lacks.
>>96753307Just wish they weren't from the Big'n'Tall store. Can't use any of them. Some of the bits, for sure, but all my minis are old and tiny in comparison.
>>96753338Size doesn't matter in this game.In real life, as long as you have seven inches you're fine.
>>96753292Dual chainfist will one shot AV14s, dual power Fist can fight small Terminator squads and auto win off 1 kill because 6 starting wounds outnumbers 5 Terminators, double ranged can specialize in whichever job they want to (plasma mostly)
>>96753374
>>96752624amazing
>>96753057I didn't read any of the BL books but he he's strongly implied to be ancient. Maybe scouring or heresy era. On release he was the only model with the Weapon Master rule other than Horus. It's implied he was either Terran XIXth or second gen. Going back and forth from the void they're in stasis so it's not impossible he's ultra old because his awake time is so minimal relatively.
>>96753182I hate the pose for his tyberos. The silent type shouldn't be cheering a rally cry. It should be his menacing art where he's approaching that one armed mantis warrior. I'd kill for a mini in that pose.

>>96752624is this inflation porn>What situation/cause/person would push for the creation of a "Heresy" pattern of terminator armor?it's called Indomitus
>>96754250And here I thought it was called Saturnine.
>>96754246they don't fall back, get pinned or get stunned out of cupboards, they cause Fear, they do double Damage to non-Vehicles when they Breach, they're S5/T5 and only need to inflict 1 W on the other unit to permanently reduce its Strengthso first-round MEQ go from 1/27 chance of an unsaved W on GV to 1/54 on the second roundfor 250 points they're surprisingly resilient, particularly with that flat ignore 1/3 of all damage, so that 250 point initial investment can hold up a much more expensive unit
>>96754301that HH2 timeline has been retconned in HH3.The "imperial patten" no longer exists, they're just techmarine-like suits
>>96754250>is this inflation pornFukken kek
>>96754360>that HH2 timeline has been retconned in HH3.Saturnine is still in Mid Age of Darkness. Also, I love how they put MkV before MkVI on the timeline, but give its issue as Age of Darkness while MkVI is late Great Crusade.
>>96754423NTA,but isn't that exactly the lore? Mk5 started as some alpha legion stealth suit during the crusade but it only came into its true purpose during the heresy as the cheap and shitty answer to mk4 while mk6 was designed in late crusade and just hitting deployment when heresy hit
>>96754423Saturnine is from the unification of the solar system. The initial suits were rare and impossible to repair without the help of Phoebe. Near the end of the great crusade Vulkan developed a modified version that could be built outside of Phoebe and repaired by the marine chapters.
>>96754111Doesn't fix his head, torso, and legs
Saturnine is from like 1985 let's be real
>>96754526Allow me to tap my 3.0 rulebook a little harder.
>>96754580I don't give a shit what that says, forges of saturn says otherwise

>>96754580But it's in use at the dropstie massacre. Which is at the start of the heresy.
>>96754601Weird, init?
>>96754580>>96754601Isn't the Age of Darkness also the Great Crusade? I thought it was the generic name for the 30k setting
>>96754601Don't worry about it
my issue with blackshields is that quite simply, I cant think of a scheme that isnt just black, or cream like geresene hostI wanna do /yourdudes/ but sometimes picking an existing faction is the way to go
>>96754967Pain them like a second founding chapterAll the official blackshield colors are boring afIt'd make sense if all the legions were still using their original colors but they look out of place compared to them
>>96754967go to your paint collection and pick a color that isn't black then pick a second color and use that as a paint scheme
>>96754967People really have become creatively bankrupt these days huh.
>>96754601it's almost as if 3.0 is slop
>>96754967you can pain them as mixed legion colors since they their armor could be scavenged
>>96747591I like how the new edition has changed what the most attractive choices are e.g. oaths that change how you score are now more attractive than altering the FOC and adding in new wargear is mostly ignored now that most of the legion wargear is uninteresting.Losing doesn't seem guaranteed but losing still seems pretty likely..
>>96754967a riotous mix of colors as each marine uses scaveneged legion gear and/or repaints their armor to whatever they like.
>>96755108I love that techmarine. What is the Holy Wrench whispering in his ear?

>>96755233did you know that dark angels are gay?
>>96755245Very much so
>>96755233I still wish Stoker hadn't given Van-Helsing that faux-european pidgin english way of speaking. Also, the entire thing is meant to be a series of epistles, so having various londoners speak phoenetically just makes Dr Seward come across as a douche who's taking the piss out the commoners. The start of the book with Dracula inviting Harker to his castle and everything that happens therein is the fucking gold standard of this genre though.
>>96755245Well, it would explain why they got fucked in the ass so hard this edition.

>>96755264
>>96755269He looks eager. I think you should paint them plainly, like battered steel, but add bloodstains near the top (or rather the bottom in this case, the bit you would use to punch people with)
>>96755281good callI might experiment more with nmm on the shield since painting metallics comes out extremely dull especially if there aren't molded details to create depth
>>96755337The shield SHOULD look dull, these are Night Lords in the middle of the heresy, they're not cleaning their gear and half their shit are chinese mechanicum knockoffs. Their shields were probably made by hammering rhino plates into shape
>>96755348I think there's a difference between looking dull and intentionally looking mutedthis is a pitfall IW players fall into when they basecoat their shit in one metallic color and it just looks like a blob of shit
>battlefoam now sells GW at 25% off if you're a VIP Fucking weird but okay
Rhino or Land Raider Explorator as a transport for status tossing squad of tactical veterans?
>>96755663Rhino. Land raider is too expensive for a unit that's gonna be shooting.
>>96755663The answer is always termite
>>96754967>>96750828>Did you even bother looking?
Is it just me, or are saturnine centurions one of the most underwhelming units this edition? They don't really add anything to a unit they join, it's just 1 saturnine with slightly better stats for 150 points, and no melee weapon options. For only 50 points more you can get a squad of 3 saturnine terminators, which seems like a better option in every regard.
>>96755067Correct!
>>96753338Start a new army and project in big scale
>>96754553You can turn the head and torso, the kit has seperate head, torso and legs like the old GW kits it's not monopose.
>>96756821You need command slots to unlock detachments so it's probably just a way to give some use to all the extra saturnine termies people have
>>96754360Imperial pattern is LE2, the first marine miniature ever released. LE stands for Limited edition. LE1 was.an Ork if I recall correctly. The miniature was re-released in 2016.This one
>>96756821teleport your fatties in for 50 points less without using up a High Command slot; teleport multiple fattie squads in
>>96756969"Imperial" in this case refers to RTB01; the "cf" means "compare with" LE2 which is "undesignated" (and is the same design seen on the Bob Naismith C100 Imperial Space Marines - the metal guys with the pirate boots, who were designated "commandos" in the French catalogue, which may have inspired Phobos marines)
>>96757264Have we ever seen a model with that Arm Cannon aside from in this image?
>>96756969While based in LE2 and the C100 beakies, "Imperial pattern" was added in just before HH2 as an early GC suit. Probably as a nod to Leetu, the proto marine from the Siege of Terra books.I guess GW probably planned to do a new kit, but in the end they decided to split it into separate nuMkVI, disintegrator sprue, and the new Rapier crew.>>96757264Nope. "Imperial" is LE2/C100, and RTB01 is either the old FW resin beakies or the new plastic ones depending on if you see nuBeakies as retconning them.>>96757317It's just a wrist mounted volkite serpenta
>>96757338it literally says "Imperial Space Marines" on the box art anon, "cf LE2 (Undesignated)" clearly means "compare to LE2, an undesignated armour mark" because that's what CF meansit's possible the reference is to Naismith's take on the same design, which were sold as "Imperial Space Marines" circa 1987, but that's the same name RTB01 was sold under, so the reference also has to refer to themit's not meant to make sense, it's an in-joke
>>96757357Both LE2 an C100 were already called imperial marines. The RTB01 beakies were clearly a different, streamlined design. That's why "RTB01" is under the MkVI entries and "Imperial" was explicitly a separate pattern.
>>96757317yeah, one of Naismith's C100s I think, "Marine with flamer" on this page
>>96757377>marine with flamerGood to know, finally. Makes one wonder why they didn't give 30k Russ a hand flamer instead of a bolt weapon. As for the rest, more than disintegrators, we should've gotten those space arquebuses. Maybe as lightning guns, since LE10 was used as the design for Thallax and their lightning gun.
>>96757228He can't teleport without a sat praetor, he's got the wrong gear
>>96756821Centurions are useful just for Officer of the Line 2But it's also an HQ with proper heavy weapons so that's neat. Not really the most amazing thing in the world but it's nice to have the option
>>96757508The original design and miniature served as stand in for several commanders.Leman Russ was retconned, and by 1989 he had a nice Jes Goodwin illustration and was the first primarch to get a miniature. The FW resin mini 25 years later was a just a remake.

>>96758126Aw that's nice.faggot.
>>96758097the proteus has always been good, people just ignore it because they dont like the model and they see the javelin can have 2 lascannons
