>the mysterious founder of Wargames Atlantic, Hudson Adams, was actually Wargames Factory and Defiance Games owner Tony Reidy this whole time

https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/a-note-from-the-founder-of-wargames-atlantic

What a tweest!

I mean it's not uncommon, Archon Studios for example is the same people behind the failed Prodos Games
>>

Who? What? And why should anyone care?
>>
He conned a lot of people back in the day. So many bad stories about him. One including that he hired disabled kids from a charity and didn't pay them. Anyone who was around back in the day knows what a nasty piece of work he is

He put one of my night goblins in his mouth at GenCon

That sounds based as fuck.

Little details like being a cunt on their socials and bitching about politics made me wary of them. Now I know some scumbag lied to get another start lol. Can't wait for them to crash into the ground because they overextend their product lines and the owner disappears with the bag yet again.

>Fuck up a kickstarter

It does not really speak for everyone else in the business desu. How the fuck did he even manage to start a new business with a fake name? Maybe thats possible in the US, idk. How did nobody from the old buisness contacts recognize him? Did he grew a long beard or something?
>>
Everyone on reddit is lapping up the statement he wrote. Amazes me how willing people are to forgive a fraudster now he can produce cheap plastics. Someone needs to show them the receipts. There's a lot out there if people can be arsed looking

I’ve seen quite a bit of disdain for wga on /awg/ over some sculpt qualities found lacking even before this.
This might be more fuel to their flames.
>>
>>96761047
A lot of the whining on /awg/ is political brainworms.
>>
>>96759925
>got ahead of the news to put a spin on it
>takes exactly zero accountability in his admittance (claims that everyone just magically foisted all the kickstarter money on him out of the blue and him paying personal debts with the money is totally glossed over)
>claims he will pay people from 12 years ago, many of whom will have moved on from wargaming, no longer have the relevant card details or receipts, or quite possibly given the subject matter be actually dead
>wants to pay back in fucking store credit lmfao

It's the Mitch Hedberg bit about being a great farmer and people telling you you should be a chef. The kind of people who get into the gaming business are usually hobbyists themselves who don't know what the fuck they are doing. Kickstarter has only made this worse, because people have zero idea how much production is actually going to cost, they build in insane amounts of product creep with stretch goals, and they don't understand how shipping works. I honestly don't think a lot of these people set out just to bilk people out of there money, they just have zero idea of the realities of trying to make a product.
>>
>>96761069
A lot of the posturing by WGA is political brainworms.

This guy is a serial liar and a narcissist.
>>
>>96761170
The whole blogpost reeks of missing information. I hate the grifters at some of these smaller tabletop companies so much.
>>
A lot of complaining here from risk averse anons who would never have the self confidence to invest real effort into a starting a business to meet a perceived market failure. Looks like Mr WGA tried and fucked up a few times, went bankrupt (far from a get out of jail free card if you know anyone who has), and has now built a successful small business on the third round. Congrats to him - that'a more commitment and confidence than I'd have - and good to see that the early backers of failed efforts are getting something, even if less than what they wanted or expected.
>>
>>96761170
It's kinda sad and pathetic how an obvious conman and liar can post a ridiculous sob story and everyone on Facebook and reddit just slop it up and are calling him a "legend" and "hero." Lmfao really shows you how gullible the rable is and why democratic politics are the way they are

Hi Tony.
>>
>>96761142
Dude, please stop posting this one screenshot over and over again.

I lurk the WGA Legion group too and I rarely see anything from him. He did also post about an insane leftist that accused him of inserting Nazi codewords into his products. Guess that means he's based?
>>
>>96761170
I did think it read a bit narcissistic.

However, he's also unmasked himself and is going to pay back Kickstarter backers. Can't really fault that.
>>
can someone spoonfeed me into telling me why the traitor guard line is still not released in plastic.
>>
I'm more inclined to support WGA just because of that one anon in /awg/ constantly waging a one man war and shitting up the thread.
>>
>>96761356
Dude please stop pretending you're on some moral highground over and over again.
>>
>>96761290
Risk-averse virgin poster vs chad styrene industrialist. Tony may suck but he's still better than you (of course the Chinese building factories to make the stuff are better still)
>>
>>96761378
>that one
You keep posting this and its certainly not true, given I have posted some of the complaints and not all of them. So you're either retarded and think everyone you dislike is one person, or you're lying.
>>
>>96761378
Turns out that "one" anon was right
>>
>>96761232
No he literally scammed people multiple times and had an absolutely awful reputation for doing so. In the blogpost he admits to having once again scammed people.
>>
>>96761369
They're stockpiling and sending out to backers first. It's a huge operation and the creator has been very cautious about it (know we know why).

Also there might be some business-strategy here like not releasing too many products at once and spacing them out. Not sure, they'll be a WGA blog post about it though.
>>
>>96761384
?
>>
Having fucked around with WGA Afghans and Wargames Factory Persians all I can say is that in 13 years the sculpting quality has somehow gone down. My sample size is only two kits but it's not a good sign either way.
>>
>>96761671
They keep developing and pumping out product like mad cats and Tony will once again let the bottom fall out and shitcan his own company.
>>
Well I guess I'm gonna try to get that spider kit second-hand then

>once censorship is removed, right wing opinions are a lot more common
Really make you think, perhaps right wing conservative opinions have been normal opinions all along
>>
>>96761990
Why would you conflate being conservative and a Nazi? Why do you keep replying to yourself?
>>
>>96762020
>replying to yourself
>the only (You) ITT I have gotten is from your dumb ass
Take your meds. This is going to blow your feeble mind, but not everyone you disagree with the same person.
Secondly, the point is that libtards like Tony Reidy think being a normal conservative American is the same as being a Nazi, not that I think conservatism and Nazism are the same thing. I'll hold off on the ad hominem until your reply
>>
>>96762043
But there are actually a bunch of shithead neonazis on Twitter. You're the one conflating "totally baseline conservative values" with Nazism here, dude.
>>
>there's Nazis on X
>said the 4chan user
I hope you realize how retarded you are.
Nevertheless, brain worms for implying that X is suddenly /pol/ just because the far right are *allowed to post*.
>>
I am sure he is glossing over or omitting a bunch of details but I do potentially believe the Chinese stuff given what happened to other companies. And from knowledge about shitty Chinese business practices in general.
>>
>>96762404
>I signed over my company to shadowy Chinamen and lost everything

The post count disagrees, just make a gripe thread and keep it here you nogames psycho
>>
>>96762455
>calls me a Nazi
Yeah.. so?
>>
>>96762440
Getting scammed by the Chinese makes sense given how one if forced to operate in China if he was stupid enough to try and setup a business there. Even just with contract work it is still a shitshow where you can easily get scammed. That being said you are right if he stupidly did the exact same thing a 2nd time just because it wasn't the Chinese again. He is definitely either glossing over or over simplifying things to make himself look more of a victim than he probably is. However people can just be that stupid when it comes to business.
>>
>>96761369
A few delays
1a. They're shipping molds back and forth between the US and UK to avoid tariffs
1b. Customs took forever releasing their molds for whatever reason
2. They had a defect in one sprue and had to redo the entire production run for that kit
3. They're sending shit out to kickstarter backers first before releasing sets to non-backers
4. First vehicle kit reportedly took more fiddling to produce than they expected
US backers are already getting their shit so it should'nt be too long before the UK ones do too. From there it sounds like they're going to try to get them out for the public ASAP.
>>
Has there been any business complaints with WGA with his sculptors on contractors? With the Second story shouldn't the bankruptcy stuff be public to see if he is BSing? I never trust a woe is me story, but even GW has been yanked around with chinese manufactures. I remember a story about their hobby cutters where the chinese kept lying about the quality they could deliver

Ah ok, I get it, you're just a liar.
>>
Honestly, this announcement has made me incredibly suspicoous of WGA. The story has some big holes (other than China screwing him over, that's pretty standard), and now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
WGA has a mostly solid track record so far; the Damned has some delays and the new 10mm dwarves needed to he resculpted. But they made Quar plastics real and they haven't imploded yet.
>>
>>96761394
We know that you are one person WGA shizo.

Defiance Games owes me about 2k.
We'll see if that fucker pays up.
>>
>>96757654
The one good thing about current political leadership is assholes unmasking themselves, which will greatly simplify things later
>>
>>96764212
Ask for inflation + interest. It's been what, thirteen years?
>>
>>96764121
>>Offers the option for store credit at a massively beneficial rate.
You realise it costs him literal cents on the dollar to manufacture that? He would much rather you took that abysmal deal for store credit than pay cash (btw, he owes the people he scammed interest as well). At most he'll pay 5k given how few people that he scammed are actually going to hear about this, and probably much less if some of them take the store credit.
>>
>>96763751
Got any other examples?
>>
>>96764131
What's wrong with the dwarves
>>
>>96765988
Problem with the mold iirc, needed retooling.
>>
>>96764131
There have been signs all along. Generally if a company takes up a snarky bullshit public facing social media presence or private emails to customers they're either already shitheads who have slipped masking or they're going to become assholes very quickly.
>>
>>96766045
Its kinda based in todays perfectionized marketing speech world if someone has the balls to tell customers to just fuck off if they dont like something. If anything, thats the best trait of this Tony/Hudson guy.
>>
>>96766080
No, its sloppy and unprofessional.Personal politics and hot takes aren't a good part of any company's pr regardless of ideological basis.
You're referring to ultrasanitized pr that is still part of hegemonic propaganda being cringe or some other brainrot and trying to flip the script. Its all old hat, everyone sees your lies and tired of it.
