It is the Spooky Month, post spooky monsters!Starting with the 1st edition D&D Ghost, so spooky that it attacking you ages you by at least a decade.
>>96758673Always hated worms/parasites/maggots/etc so this freaked me out.
>>96758756which book is this from?
>>96758673>spooky monsters!post all the 1e spooky ones
>>96758888>8888The original art is from the AD&D1E Fiend Folio, the stats appear to be homebrew. If there are official son of kyuss 5e stats, they're being buried under spawn of kyusses.
Thinking Zombie from the Dark Sun monsters book in the 90's. Best image I could find but I remember the sample one was this half-giant raised from the dead and sent out to hunt down her former adventuring companions. >>96758888Fiend Folio.
>>96758968indeed this is spooky but needed to be black and white to be even more disturbing
>>96758673
>>96758968this is from the AD&D 2e 2433 MC Dark Sun Appendix II Terrors Beyond Tyr, page 128
>>96759163I fought a pack of these in my 3.5 game.It was actually pretty wild. Never thought my choice of Blind-Fight feat would matter so much.DM may have thrown me a bone.
>>96758929AAAH, A SKELETON!
>>96760550I really like to think if games like these were realistic. Like Humans would be relatively easy to take out if you manage to hit them with a sword. But a skeleton? How the hell do you kill that? Break a couple bones before it gives in. Or maybe break specific bones to disable it? I guess depends on the magic. But then again a sword is heavy and it would be able to break ribs no problem.
>>96762051>I guess depends on the magic.Yep, that's really all there is to it. It takes pure fucking magic to make the skeleton a problem, and so it's likewise all down to what'll break the magic to make it stop being a problem.
>>96762051>A sword is heavyCommon misconception. A sword can break ribs but if 2.5 pounds (the real weight of a one-handed sword) is heavy to you, you're too weak to stand and fight. Run and hope you have better cardio than the boney boys.
>>96762310Ok I mad a word mistake there, its not heavy but he force it delivers can break bones with ease, of course depending on the sword. Exactly like you said.>>96762094What would be the most reasonable way for the magic wo work? I mean it has to be some kind of levitating magic I guess to animate the skeleton, so if you split a bone in tho it shouldn't car too much.
>>96759305How good is that feat anyway? Good enough to make throwing smoke bombs your gimmick to have the advantage in a fight?
After a lot of though about what I should run for a halloween one shot, I ended up going for cartoony ghostbusters going into Event Horizon.
>>96758673Hi, 121!
