>TQNo, might start with this one though. Might get it once I’m finally out of this swamp though.
>>96762947>TQNo, but I am getting Cursed City for my birthday. Really only for the models but maybe I'll play it if I get anyone to play with.
What are the most fleshed out some might even say bloated factions and which ones are in desperate need of more model variety? Other than Sons of Behemat of course. Anything you would cut from a faction or add?
>>96763000Honestly? To me it feels like none of the armies are complete. Not even something like stormcast.I think slaanesh on the mortal side is probably alright, maybe they need a warcry band and thats it, but the issue all chaos forces have are their demons, its criminal how slow gw is to add to them. side tangent, I also dont get why underworld warbands are legends too, maybe they would mitigate that blow to anemic ranges, but it fucking sucks that gw is putting them in a ubiquitous position within the mainline game. Just lock them in spearheads if they think they occupy too much warehouse space and give them generic profiles like snarlfangs.
Will Warhammer Quest Ever peak again? After Silver Tower it only went downhill
>>96762947No. I have played Heroquest however.I am sort of tempted to buy Darkwater. Will see how much it costs and general fun consensus
>>96763000SCE, Gitz, Soulblight and Seraphon feel pretty complete.DoK, FS, IDK, KO, OBR and Ogres feel very lacking.Everyone else is in between
Am I crazy or does anyone else think the Saurus mouths/snouts are too small and their necks are a bit too thick? That's all I can think about while I've been painting them.>>96763024>think slaanesh on the mortal side is probably alright, maybe they need a warcry band and thats it,Slaanesh could maybe use a 10 man mortal melee unit. They have daemonettes for 10 man melee but they're demon. And in my own personal opinion they also need a hot slutty looking female generic hero unit. Preferably an elf since I always hated GW getting rid of Morathi being a Slaanesh cultist.
>>96763024>Not even something like stormcastGenuinely what would you even add? To me it feels like they have just about everything they could in spades.>Soulblight completeOther than all the character models from Cursed City, they feel downright anemic to me.
>>96763024They've been schizophrenically turning random UW warbands into real units a bunch lately, but with no real rhyme or reason to it. Stormcast cut almost all their generic wizards and rats lost their foot priests? No worries, you get UW warbands to fill that gap. Slaves have almost no generic wizards and no wizards at all for Darkoath, or SBGL having a deathrattle update with no new foot wight king? Fuck you, none of the darkoath UW warbands with wizards in them, and you don't get the foot wight king warband everyone loves.
>>96763366Yeah Soulblight have a fuckton of named characters and hero models, but not that much else. Ironically the undead ogors, mob of lesser vamps, and nu-varghiest that they lost this edition were all the coolest shit they got out of cursed city, and they sort of sorely need things in a similar niche. You can run a vengorian lord but they have basically no vamp monsters to go with them, and you can run one of a hundred vyrkos heroes, but they have literally 0 generic units to use that fit their vibe besides undead wolves
>>96762947>TQNo, but i saw a lot of videos of Cursed City, and im gonna buy this Warhammer Quest to have new minis and something new to play
>>96763439>>967633662* types of knights 2* types of monstrous infantry Multiple chaff infantry Elite infantry WarmachinesFlying units MonstersWeird utility piecesFoot heroes, cavalry heroes, monster riding heroesWhat else do they need?
>>96763507Maybe read the post that literally lists out the specific thing they lack in a way that makes the army feel anemic? I don't particularly care if they tick generic boxes, they have a dynasty of werewolf vampires who have a million named characters and lack almost anything that goes with them, which they did not lack in 3e. They have a dynasty of monster vampires who have 2 units and have had everything else that fit with them squatted, despite being introduced last edition.
>>96763163Cursed city was sick, you have shit tase
>>96763000stormcast is obviously bloated, I don't understand why they have so many models when they're not a fraction as popular as space marines. It would make much more sense to treat them like Custodes being the supposed "elite" golden fighting force but no. Gitz is very well fleshed out, it just has stupid rules that makes it feel more like several seperate armies instead of one cohesive army. KO could use some model variety, all the foot heroes and infantry look samey, sans the balloons. They could use some metal bird monsters or something else to add a bit more flavor to the faction>anything to cutfyreslayers and nighthaunt as factions entirely. GW clearly isn't interested in fleshing out the model range for either as they've been rereleasing basically the same model for every new unit. Easier to wipe the slate clean, drop support for the factions, and repurpose any remaining in production models for other factions like they did with beasts of chaos.
>>96763000Stormcasts are Bloated(even if I like them)BoK is high in Bloodbound(I'd argue they are the most detailed monogod faction even after that new shitty and unnecessary deathbringer removing the other two, thus setting back the Gorechosen to 6) and even despite lacking their own beastmen units. The Rotbringers are in need of more Mortals. They only got one infantry and one cav, not including the Warcry.
>>96763623Big fan of how James elected to cut one of the only units in Nighthaunt that wasn't a human skeleton in a bedsheet
>what would you addNo one’s gonna like my suggestions, but here I go. >evocator line, make them some what more vurnerbale (making them full on combat wizards) in their next rendition and also act as buffer pieces>lighting gheists >memorians, flesh them out a little maybe. I could ask for more like more ruination rep, but if I could just pay points to turn liberators into ruination shit I’d prefer that instead. But these three things could touch up on stormcast and give them an alternate way to play, make them more distinct, and if by the off chance that gw does not want to put them in a starter box for some reason, is totally doable for a release.
>>96763623Shit taste.
>>96763635I hate anime faces, they are the go-to face style for the talentless and unoriginal
>>96763363You some kind of queer who doesnt like the Soul Caliburs?
>>96763635>lightning gheiststhis is the kind of shit we need. Everything about stormcast is lightning themed but the closest we get in terms of models is just etched lightning on a shield. Lame, we need straight up lighting monsters, or at least a Stormcast model that's whipping lighting like Zeus.
>>96763669Go off my queen. Your opinion is needed.
>>96763363>hey also need a hot slutty looking female generic hero unitnot happening. Your allowed all the disturbing lore you want, but if little jimmy walks into a Warhammer store and sees boobs the world will end.
>>96763363A slutty slaaneshi worshipper who covers up all her skin for no mortal is worthy of her beauty
>>96763569Yeah my bad, didn't read you meant specific sub faction stuff
>>96763693>KageakiI may not know Muramasa but I know a Evilchad when I see him
>>96763623>stormcast is obviously bloated, I don't understand why they have so many models when they're not a fraction as popular as space marines.Because GW desperately wants them to be AoS's Space Marines in terms of popularity and sales. As for having so many modules a lot of people didn't like how bulky the 1st edition ones were so GW responded to that complaint by doing a wave of more normal proportioned models in hopes that now people would start spending Space Marine money on them.>>96763714>not happening. Your allowed all the disturbing lore you want, but if little jimmy walks into a Warhammer store and sees boobs the world will end.DoK are already pretty slutty looking. That being said i can already forsee them updating Witch Elves in the future with a new kit that shows way less skin.
>can't post game related fanart>can't post about fan community discussion>can't post about game developerswhy are the mods on this board in specific such power tripping dickheads? Every other board it feels like there's barely a mod team but here it's no life jannies making sure you don't step an inch out of line
Guys, please send me a link that has some Soulbound PDFs.
>>96764087>Because GW desperately wants them to be AoS's Space Marines in terms of popularity and sales. And they've clearly failed to make that happen. Even with every starter kit and intro box set having stormcast, they still only make up like 10% of AoS sales. I genuinely think them leaning so hard into the faction actually keeps people out because all people see in the marketing is "sigmarines" and they think that's all the game is, never seeing the other cool factions.
>>96764106were you actually posting about game related on topic stuff?or were you shitstirring?
>>96763630Which one was that?
>>96764215Glaivewraith Stalkers
>>96764218They got rid of the mouse wraiths!? What for, they were actually different, still a spooky ghost in a sheet but they're still visually different
>>96764232underworlds kit in its origin. I dunno man.
>>96764144>And they've clearly failed to make that happen. Even with every starter kit and intro box set having stormcast, they still only make up like 10% of AoS sales. I genuinely think them leaning so hard into the faction actually keeps people out because all people see in the marketing is "sigmarines" and they think that's all the game is, never seeing the other cool factions. It will be interesting to see if GW doubles down yet again by having them be in the next edition launch box. I have a feeling they're going to keep trying to make stormcasts popular for AoS's entire lifespan
>>96763714>>96764106No you can't post nsfw guro art by artists known for doing loli shit. That's literally all the rules broken about art in one post outside furry. That has always been the case you tourist
>get into Ogors>refresh announced 2 months later>everyone here plays fucking Nighthaunt nowI want to say its Ogor, but I love my hungry men.
>>96764237No it's not. Soul wars was first
>>96764298yeah but man look, I have no idea WHAT the fuck is going on in gw. Maybe they themselves dont even know that.
>>96764383None of us do, but we aren't out here claiming things that are instantly provably false about the past.
>>96763024I think it's as much a problem of lack of unit variety as it is number of units. Back in WHFB each army had units to fit almost every role (ranged, cavalry, chariot, war machines, monster, etc.) and units felt more differentiated within a faction. AoS factions generally feel pretty one-note even when they have more role variety like Stormcast or Lumineth.
>>96764144>they still only make up like 10%Aosg needs to have a sticky in the op that tells people to ignore any post that talks about sales numbers, or specifically tries to claim they know even close to the sales figures. All we know it's it sells less than 40k, there aren't ever any comparisons made by the company outside that
Do you think they will show another hero of Warhammer Quest tomorrow? If so, I hope is the water lady.
>>96764460dwarf is last. He would've been third, but his votes fell... short
>>96764479SHOoORT?!?!There will be no alliances with Carlos while im High King...
>>96764479
>>96764460In terms of votes I think it'll probably be>manticore knight>dwarf>water lady>explorer knightI'm hoping we get to see another one todat but something tells me they're going to stretch this thing out. Maybe not though, we'll see. Personally I wanna see the water wizard lady next.
The Magmadroth disrespect is crazy
>>96765043
>>96765094Lady olynder being that low is so fucking bad of a take. Yes the model has some issues being assembled, but the general idea of the model is kino made manifest. Also I’m gonna be honest I’ve never seen the appeal in the greater demon of slaanesh. It’s better than the blood thirster but that’s not really saying much or anything really, the lord of change and great unclean one are sooo much better and iconic.
>>96765088I have no ide why they did 2 basic bitch human fighters, except one has cool armor and other doesn't.I guess Cursed City did something similar, but the nobleman had a gun and drip to contrast with the main palladin
>>96765088they never said they would continue by popularity
>>96764282If you like the modes no lose has happened. Heck for all we know the next ogors are going to be terrible with various female models shoved into every set.
>>96765094>morathi>those facesI'm not surprised
>>96765043Cute.
>>96765094Are they ranking centerpiece models based on how good the model is? Because I cannot imagine any list with those models where Olynder belongs at the bottom.
>>96765094>>96765162But wait there's more.
Not gonna lie, Siege of Greenspire almost made me play CoS. I fucking loved this story and it might have sold me on the army if the models weren't so fucking shit.Shame :(Guess I could use the Empire models that are in production these days for TOW but I'm not even a massive fan of them.
>>96765114>lord of change>iconic ??????????
>>96765094Olynder slander. They don't call her Lady O for nothing
>>96765094why does anyone care about vinces opinion?
>>96765198Not shitposting but I've been here since 1ed and have heard nothing of this, is it good? Is it worth tracking down to read about hoes? I refuse to read about anything without sluts. Sexcow bunda for visibility
>>96765277Anyone with sense has realized he isn't worth basing an opinion on outside painting tips
>>96765198Yeah I wish they got Anna Stephens back to write some more AoS. Her prose sets a nice mood.
>>96765198Sounds decent, will take a read. Any recs for OBR books?
>>96765117I'm glad someone finally said it It's extremely stupid they have two human knights as part of the cover and to sell the game. The classic is the wizard, barbarian, elf, dwarf. Even if you have more people, you stick those archetypes on the cover. Nothing about either of the knights is exciting, it's just 'dude in armor' and 'troon in armor.' Even the dwarf, who looks boring as fuck, is more interesting than the two knights.
>>96765371the elf didn't fit on the cover because he's got centaur legs
>>96765371>>96765379Even the druid guy would have been better, because the current mage lady is a spellsword and not a pure caster
>>96765379Why did they put a Kurnothi elf archer hero in two Quests released back to back?
>>96765414same reason they put an ogre in both, or a dwarf in both, or a knight in both, or a priestess in both
>>96765414This's one's a real freakshit centaur, fixing the half ass horns shit we had last time
>>96765414Because elvish marksmen have mass appeal whereas Fisher Price ents don't.
>>96765446Well that’s a tangent.
>>96765446Fuck you, Kurnoth Hunters are cool as fuck.
>>96765446Women love those things
>>96765446>talking shit about kurnothilmao what a fag
>>96765446There's an obvious middle ground.
>>96765446A kurnoth hunter with bow would have been infinitely more interesting than another "wood" elf archer
why do aelve-fags think anyone cares about their factions?
>>96765499Elfs attract very annoying people, that always try to overcompensate for somehting
>>96765117The Manticore knight is the berserker barbarian role but yeah it's entirely mechanically representation and visually they're identical Cursed City didn't just have variable weapons but the style of armour was completely different to draw a further distinction. Both of the Darkwater heroes are wearing gothic plate
>>96765699Pretty weird decision to have them both on the cover yeah. Should've been the druid instead. I mean as it stands all four are using normal close combat weapons (the lady obviously more in a battlemage type of way, but still).
>>96763623>nighthauntGW will probably offer you a job with the shit takes you have. I don't play nighthaunt but my ex did so i painted a lot of them. They are by far one of the overal best looking armies. Why would you get rid of that
Um, waiter? More, please!
>>96765744Next week
>>96765094i really think GW should have just made it so the sphinx IS teclis, instead of just a spirit companion. teclis's model feels so tacked on. it looks so much better as just the creature, and it would have been very cool if the god of magic just reincarnated as this bizarre sphinx creature
>>96765752>cue another 10 years of anons whining for the "real Teclis" to get a modelNo thanks.
>>96765752>so the sphinx IS teclisHonestly? Kino.
>>96765752Fuck Teclis the people wanted Tyrion anyway.
>>96765777People are asking for Tyrion because they got Teclis. If they had gotten Tyrion first they would be asking for Teclis instead.
>>96765752Would've inspired a lot of seethe but I kinda like it. But yeah t-posing teclis was a big miss, his artwork is really cool too which makes it worse. Although I think somebody made a proont version based on that?
>>96765752Feels like a cheap cop out.Making the sphinx and teclis separate models would have definitely been a good thing, but here you're effectively making a new sphinx character, not teclis, so recycling his name and a connection instead of actually building a new character would be lame.Similar issue with alarielle, she's just tacked onto the beetle for no reason other than increasing the price of the box.
More Helsmith Daemon Engines when?
>>96765833Never, this will be the range for the next 10 years.
>>96765833Absolute best case scenario they get a wave two in the middle of 5th edition or something. More realistically it'll be a while, outside of any possible sidegame releases
>>96765833Probably not soon. As it stands their unit roster has the essentials covered.
>Cursed City is oop and the heroes never got any post 2nd edition rulesDisgraceful
>>96765883just use this guy as your own drekki flynt proxy or something. he's like $6 on the secondary market
>The apex predator of the Bloodwind Spoil, the two-headed Ash-Drakes are colossal serpentine horrors, hidden behind a choking cloud, leering balefully out of the smog. These voracious predators are as cunning as they are fierce, devouring anything in their path to feed the immense heat in the furnace of their bellies. The tribes of the Spoil see the Ash-Drake as both the ultimate prize and the most terrible calamity — legend has it that slaying one is such a feat that it would be sure to draw the gaze of the Ruinous Powers, but too many would-be drake slayers have been turned to smouldering heaps of white ash to know if it is true. The mere sight of one is enough to drive warriors to terror and they are viewed as portents of doom throughout the Spoil.
>>96765888There's no reason they shouldn't have gotten unique thematic rules Stop coping
>>96765901i mean sure, but every time they've done that in the past they've generally been terrible anyways, and knowing 4e all this guy would do is basic 5w 4+ save 3 attacks 3s and 3s rend 1 d3 damage, with a (once per turn army) special rule: roll a D3, on a 2+ do that many mortal damage to a single unit within 6 inches of this modellike, i dont trust 4e at all to give foot heroes worthwhile profiles, especially not small throw away heroes in a discontinued box.
>>96765896How many dragon-esque models do we have in aos (that aren't whfb holdovers)? By my count 7, 8 if you count vandus' dracoth too:>dracolines>dracoth>stardrake>stormcast mini dragons>stormcast big dragons>ionus>new zombie dragonI feel like I'm forgetting some stuff though

>>96766068>No one gave a shit about the crippled nerd they wanted the swordmaster chadAre you forgetting that Tyrion is a blind cripple too now?
>>96766159>Good calls, though leviadon is a bit of a stretch. Does dorghar count? He's fairly draconic nowadays.I wouldn't count dorghar for the same reason I don't count chimeras and gryphs.I added the leviadon because I have my own headcanon about its phylogeny given it's technically a 6 limbed reptilian creature, given reptiles have evolved into turtles in multiple different points of the tree of life (kinda like the crab meme), and because there used to be a dragon turtle once in warhammer already, whether that was merely a big turtle that was called a dragon (like the toad dragon was technically unrelated to dragons) or actually a creature related to dragons is another matter, but we're counting -esque things too here, no?

>>96766756It's bad because he looks like a giant decrepit old man wielding a walking stick instead of a daemonic killing machine like the other VLsAlso he only has one tail and that's a downgrade
Why did they make another (named) Masterclan Verminlord instead of finally giving us a Moulder or Skryre one?
>>96766768>decrepit old man
>>96766778Because a verminlord based on moulder or skryre is a verminlord based on a type of technology rather than an aspect of the horned rat. They wanted to make an ultimate verminlord because the ET ones were disappointing.
>>96766780The pose means a lot. He's hunched over, which makes him look unimposing. Some people didn't like the weird-ass pose the generic VLs have, but it does a good job at conveying their agility (and prideful character).
Do any of the major gods have any children running around in aos? For a setting loosely based on norse and greek myth it's surprisingly lacking in demigods. Not that I want aos to go full primarch mind you, but I'm curious.
>>96766789>based on a type of technologyOkay and? We've had a fair few technological daemons before.>rather than an aspect of the horned ratYou mean like the Writhing Broodsire and the Dark Innovator?
>>96766817Sigmars too much of a neet, Teclis has magical erectile dysfunction and is probably still too much for a human woman to endure, Morathi is forever on the pill (for the best), the ever queen is a bonafide whore, and nagash probably only spiritually rapes people to pass the time. Well when he was present in the setting.
Do draconiths not have subraces?
>>96766912They are the subrace, of Dracothion dragons
>>96766564Filtered. Probably the best model in AoS and it's not close.
>>96766564The fact that people like the nu-Verminlord is at least understandable. The fact that they prefer it to the old multi-kit, that they even call "bad", is absolutely baffling.
>>96766977Honestly I had a verminlord kit missing his front torso piece and managed to get a pretty cool looking guy with some kitbashing. The new guy is neat and all but the old kit having so many options is great!

>>96767001They were allies and supposedly friends but there's nothing that says they were more than that.
>>96767001There's more of a case of Kragnos shagging her than Sigmar in all likelihood ngl
>>96766564I feel like a part of his appeal is one, he's the first daemon post-ascension and two, he's got that neat ole sash that gives off religious vibes. He just needs a book to flesh him out and make him interesting.
>>96766756>>and also because it's more detailed than the previous verminlordAt this point it's completely valid to call modern GW centerpieces overly detailed to the point of being deleterious to paintability. I could comfortably paint a Verminlord; I don't think I could paint Vizzik. I could paint a zombie dragon; I don't think I could paint the Revenant Draconith. I don't have a model to compare Ushoran to, but I sure as hell know I couldn't paint him.
Come to think of it, it's kind of an omission that there aren't more gods or demigod children descended from Sigmar's old pantheon. I mean Alarielle and Kurnoth were queen and consort for an age but seem to not have had any children between them. And from what I understand Sigmar, Teclis, Tyrion, Malerion, and Morathi have all stayed single through all the ages and have not produced any offspring in all that time. It's unclear whether they even fuck at all. Grungni, Grimnir and Valaya potentially constitute the exceptions here since the AoS fluff alludes to duardin gods that weren't around in WHFB.Obviously Alarielle did some magical parthenogenesis shit to create the Lady of Vines, and in a looser sense Grungni "fathered" Grombrindal by reforging the legend of the White Dwarf.Basically, does godhood kill libido?
>>96767117Ushoran wasn't so bad, the worst part was the stupid little faces in his cape.
>>96767130>Basically, does godhood kill libido?Yes, you're no longer a mortal with mortal concerns and mortal instincts. It's also debatable whether siring divine children is possible, is said divine power growing from nothing? is it given to the children by the parents? does that mean that the parents become weaker?
>>96767130In tropes it kinda does if you like, live on the 4th dimension kind of godhood. For someone like sigmar he probably should have a libidio but being stuck around with stormcast for pretty much 1000 years or something like that might drive you into impotence.
>>96767174In sixth edition, sigmar fucks
>>96767130Grungni has the six smiths I think? For alarielle it's weird as the literal godess of life, though I guess in a way all sylvaneth are her children
>>96767042I think it's literally just the mass appeal quality of being bigger and more detailed WHILE being generic. I think that the average person doesn't want gimmicks. It's the only way that I can explain Be'lakor's popularity as well.
Vizzik Skour novel where it's revealed his ability to stir skaven into a frenzy is because the concept of kindness and selflessness is so alien to skavendom that it fries the part of their brain that values self preservation above all and makes them 125% willing to die. Same with other mortals they literally cannot take the idea of a kind daemon, much less a kind skaven daemon, and it just tears their mind apart. Like imagine living in a world where rats are EVIL and daemons are EVIL and a RAT DAEMON (EVIL SQUARED) comes up to you and goes "ey bud wanna brewsky? it's on the hoose". This is against all laws of reality. You die.
>>96767272lame
Vizzik's model should have gone farther with the twisted and gnarled horn detail and made him into a full-blown daemon of mutation; a barely-humanoid thing of flesh and fangs and claws draped in warpstone (and varanite?) jewelry

>>96767314Fuck
>>96767130This is honestly something pretty interesting to discuss even if the answer you're always going to come back to us "GW is afraid of sex".I think AoS accords with a Norse as opposed to a Greek system of divinity, at least as far as the main pantheon goes. The gods are not fucking and spawning all sorts of demi-gods and semi-mortals, even though the world of AoS is actually full of godlike entities apart from the pantheons. If there are offspring, they are not the focus and are always divine.I think Sigmar is clearly Nordic: he started off as a Thorlike/Sigurdlike culture hero in WHFB and became an Odinlike chooser of the slain overgod in this setting. I even think the Sigurd comparison is kind of funny because Sigurd is undone by desire and fucking so the Warhammer version just... wanders off somewhere instead because GW is afraid of sex. It does feel pretty silly to have a seductress goddess like Morathi and a lustful/evil desire entity like Slaanesh in a strictly SFW setting, but it's always going to be a game trying to sell to children to a significant degree, and moral policing is big in the UK anyway.
>>96767312That's for when we get Morghur back after TOW crashes and burns.

>>96767329>It does feel pretty silly to have a seductress goddess like Morathi and a lustful/evil desire entity like Slaanesh in a strictly SFW settingkirby was right, slaanesh should have been killed with the reinvention of fantasy that was aos.
>>96767329You beat me to saying it. Gw seems averse to discussing anything relating to sustaining/propogating a population if it isn’t magically spawned or crafted like OBR. We all know humans, dwarves, elves, and ogors fuck. Gargants maybe, but they were spawned in a manner like the Greek gods. What about grots, orks, and Sylvaneth? Are there truly freaky FEC babies or can they only spread via the delusion? GW doesn’t have to get graphic with it, but at least give the slightest nod indicating how more of X being gets made.

>>96765883>Cursed City is oop and the heroes never got any post 2nd edition rulesI almost prefer that, because as-is, they make excellent proxies for heroes in other armies. The knight, duelist and witchhunter all make great foot marshals in CoS. >>96765370>Any recs for OBR books?I've never read a single BL story involving OBR I enjoyed. Love 'em in the lore and their parts in the campaign supplements etc are great but no Black Lib author has ever done them well.
>>96762947I've never played Warhammer Quest but I love Hero Quest and assume this is that, but more overpriced.
>>96768255I don't think they've ever gotten anything other than short stories, GW seems to forget the best fucking books they have are when it's just focused on characters being characters instead of characters being a character and then some random asshole who has to interact with them from a "human" perspective like a bunch of fucking lame-o's.>>96768262Kinda, sorta, in a sense.
>>96767876The other two here are ill informed. What actually happened was that one of the updates a couple months ago caused a bug that made Tomb King and Lizardmen AI completely passive on the campaign map, which meant both lizards and TK’s were getting wiped out in every run every time. The community review bombed the game to hold CA hostage until they fix the issue, which they did a few days ago.

>>96768504I feel like GW wants to play it safe with shit like Sigvald or Skarsnik (kinda) where it's all from a normal guy's POV and having to deal with the bad guys. But some of the best stuff from Black Library are just 1 to 1 bad guy perspective (I say this with 2/3 thanquol books having some no named human protagonists but they're still good)GW just needs to bite the fucking bullet and drop some bad guy books, give us some dickhead characters as protagonists. Give us some adventures around the mortal realms with someone who isn't just a fucking normal human.
>>96768504true, but I still enjoyed the depiction of how a human city controlled by an OBR liege can look like.
>>96768554I want a novel about a skaven underling whose a tactical genius but can't catch a break because his boss is the GHR's silliest clown and blows every foolproof plan the MC makes. Like some sort of reverse Thanquol, always succeeding downward.
>>96768498This bundle of AoS stories from the Inferno! volumes, I'd say. There's also Conquest Unbound, which contains some short stories that were previously only published in WD. Personally I also really like the Underworlds anthologies, Direchasm and Harrowdeep. The latter has higher quality stories overall but only contains three novellas. Direchasm has a lot more stories covering a lot more different perspectives, but quality between the stories also varies more.

>>96768832>I always thought that was mostly grog fearmongering but that one image with malekith's crown among the other chaos gods kinda pushed me towards team conspiracyI think there's enough circumstantial evidence that squatting Slaanesh was a real possibility they were considering. From what I understand the model development pipeline takes about three years on average to go from proposed concept to actual release. Fantasy/Age of Sigmar has Slaanesh be locked away. At that same time End Times happens/launch of AoS GW is developing their soft reboot of 40k with Guilliman returning and the time line jumping by a century that they later retconned years later. This was accompained by Primaris Space Marines whose initial lore was a huge confusing mess which really indicates that a lot of changes happened during late development of this new 40k age mostly likely caused by backlash to all the changes Age of Sigmar introduced. Guilliman returning was also accompanied by the partial birth of Ynnead and the Ynnari models. Ynnead whole lore until then was that their birth would kill Slannesh. It's very possible that GW plan was that Slannesh would be squatted by AoS imprisoning them and in 40k by having Ynnead kill them. Slaanesh didn't get new models until like three years after Guilliman returned meaning initial development after they decided not to squat Slannesh.
Why aren’t tree revenants and spites not considered kurnothi?

I don't get why people think this guy looks more Bretonian than cities just because he was big ornate helmet. The cities aesthetic is clear. He shares a lot of the design of the Freeguil General.

Ive been wanting to get into AoS. What listbuilder do you guys use? I like the darkoath guys and wanted to get the spearhead box + some big beast guys like ogroids, fomoroids, and wilderfiends. Can they make a decent army or do I have to take some of the chaos warrior stuff to make it work?
>>96770588Yeah on closer inspection he's a freeguild marshal with the helmet on. It's just when people see warhammer knight with ornate helmet they initially think "BRETONS"
>>96770588I think is because the helmet is more round and has the head of a manticore instead of being the head (like the arch knight with fish or bear head, or the cavalier with stag head)But the rest is very Cities fo Sigmar
>>96770631The myrmidon buffs theridons so they innately have synergy, darkoath kinda suck because they're the chaff hordes of the army and have no innate magic users besides 1 model in a named character's posse, but if you're using ogroids and monsters too it's probably a lot less of a problem. The chaos warrior side is the better part of the army right now, particularly the chosen, but i think your idea of a list could work fine and the scourge of ghyran shit was laser targeted at trying to make darkoath good
