how come in fantasy MMOs and RPGs you can play as elfs, dwarfs, gnomes, goblins but not fairies? as far as i know there's not a single game where you can roleplay as a fairy, which is ironic because fairies and elfs are basically the same according to european folklore

If you insist on them being tiny then like, theres a handful i guess? But tiny fairies are really hard to balance because they're weak and fragile in combat and trivialize many noncombat challenges

None of that "small" shit either, you're a foot tall, you take a massive penalty to str and damage, but you can turn invisible at will except for dawn, dusk, noon and midnight, and you can fly 5 feet off the ground. It operates on bethesda logic where the smaller you are the less damage you do and the larger you are the more damage you do. If Centaurs were large they'd be the objectively best race for martials and if faries were tiny they would objectively be the best race for casters because they can hide in nooks and crannies and spam spells without any risk.
