He was self-centered throughout the whole saga never thinking about how his actions affected Jacquays. Although a known figure she was more or less done writing TTRPGs by 1990, then twenty years later he brought her a whole bunch of unwanted attention using her name to promote himself.

Use of that word became a social minefield, with "helpers" following people around correcting their spelling and anti-trans activists attacking people who used it. None of this happens without the alexandrian, and however you want to frame it she took every step she could to disassociate from him. I feel like most TTRPG content, be it forums, this place or YouTube becomes kinda useless once you're experienced enough. When I started playing TTRGPs 9 years ago I liked having all these resources and places with experienced people to ask questions at my disposal.

But I've been playing weekly sessions for 9 years now, for some years even MULTIPLE weekly sessions with very different groups, mostly offline but some online too.
From time spent in game (I both GM and play) I probably trump many of these content creators and you kinda start seeing that they have nothing left to teach you and you'd have enough anecdotes and experience to start teaching them instead.

When new editions drop and you couldn't get your hands on it yet it's of course worth checking stuff out but that's about it.

There's still of course the entertainment factor but that's about it.
