When designing encounters in a magical forest, what are your favorite creatures to use?
>>
Giant spiders. I love em.
>>
This looks like Puckee art
>>
>>96814256
Nymphs like dryads, duendes (not greenskin goblins but rather like gnomes), ojáncanos (cyclops), druidic pagan cults, satyrs and fauns, deceitful spirits that lure you into the depths, creatures with antlers like the Wendigo or skinwalkers, werewolves... I love forests.

Mad druid possessed by fae/spirits of the woods along with angry bears and other pissed off animals backing him up when you and the party go to kill his dumb ass for getting in your way

Succubus encounters.

The ones I put on the generation tables for the magical forest areas.

>>
>>96814427
What kinds of creatures do you put on the generation tables for magical forest areas?
>>
>>96814256
Depends on the game.
>>
>>96814256
Piss. Lots of piss.

Fey creatures like fairies and pixies are good for benign encounters, and for potentially hazardous ones you've got wolves, bears and the local Wood Elves. For hostile encounters, dire creatures, big spiders/ettercaps and blights are all fun to use.

I've realised that I almost certainly have dozens of Puckee commissions saved from art threads over the years. Some of them are decent and have come in handy for inspiration, VTT tokens and the like.

The problem with Puckee isn't the actual art. It's the way he creates topics that really don't deserve their own threads as an excuse to post it, or starts dumping it in a thread for attention.
>>
>>96814503
Don't forget using it to pise as a drawfag in drawthreads and answer his own "requests"

Ones that fit in with the rest of the world, while still being suited to the magical forest.
>>
>>96814562
What examples can you give us of creatures you've used in your game that are both suitable for a magical forest and fit the rest of your game world?

I like the spiders in the Avernum setting. They're all called spider and they are retarded.
>>
Elfs, they often live in this kind of habitat
>>
>>96814602
I can give lots of examples, but since OP didn't give any of his own, I don't feel any need or compulsion to do so.
He asked a question without elaborating, so I gave an answer without elaborating.
Cry about it.

Dryads. Then I vigorously masturbate under the table while staring my female players in the eyes

>I've realised that I almost certainly have dozens of Puckee commissions saved from art threads over the years.
I have images saved from over 10 years ago that people have identified as Puckee art. He's either been at this forever, stole art and claimed it as his own, or those people are delusional. I mean, the last option is true, but the question is if the first two are as well.
>>
>>96817374
I suspect it's the second option. I found a pic from 2010 that I once used for a PC and traced it to the original artist on DeviantART, only to find that Puckee had uploaded it at some point more recently.

Kill yourself, puckee.

People will identify any art that has been posted on his reddit account as "Puckee art" even if it's him just posting art he found online to the fantasy are subbreddits. He has an extensive subreddit footprint that regularly contributes to the main fantasy art subbreddit network quite a lot. Like 90% of the art he posts is just stuff he finds and reposts there.

Prepare to be enslaved to the whims of cruel yet whimsical beings until they get bored
(they don't have anything better to do)
>>
>>96820157
That's fine.
(neither do I)
>>
>>96814256
Since my party is mostly male, I pick encounters that will play on their feelings of inadequacy and physical dysmorphia.
>A gorgeous Elven maiden in a tree flirts with the players. Shortly afterward, an Elven hunting party rides past, led by an incredibly handsome Elf-lord. The girl runs to his arms and rides off, after waving goodbye to the stupid humans.
>A muscular Satyr and his orgy challenge the PCs to an arm-wrestling contest. If they win, they get to use his pipes once.
>A really jacked Druid asks them what the fuck they're doing in his sacred grove. His dryad girlfriend watches the entire time.
>A Unicorn follows the PCs around, because they're all virgins.

Faes, Giant Spiders, Wood Elves, Witch Covens, Druids and Dryads. Maybe some werewolves if people aren't furries and all.
