>>96832612This is diversity done right.
>>96832661
>>96832617Looks more Mongol Khongors than Cathay
>>96832621Very nice anon looks like a decent amount of weapons and Head options
>>96832720Hell yeah. I was quite disappointed that they didn't bring Savage Orc kits into Old World.
>>96832320Pic unrelated? Those looks fucking retarded with those AoS daughters of khaine hairstyles on top of their helmets. Looks like some shit from a PS2 game Jake and Dexter looking ahh
>>96832732Yeah, 2 heads for the Tomb King and 2 for the Royal Herald , 3 right arm options (Khopesh in 2 poses, axe, and pointing hand), and three left arm options (axe, shield, and BSB) means you get a lot.The Liche priest kit I don't have a picture of, but you could also make theoretically 24 different priests there too (4 heads, 3 arms, 2 staves, and mounted versus on foot)
Would you run an Amazons army?
>perrynigger now posting AoSloppaHow has this faggot not been sent on vacation yet
>>96832800What’s the Amazon lore?
>>96832814
>>96832824>antagonistic towards the LizardmenI would be interested if they were another faucet to explore pre-Old Ones lore
>>96832850Amazons don't precede the old ones, they were made by an old one, rigg, "mother of amazons", who's the only old one referred to as a female in lizardmen plaques. She's considered a renegade old one, but it's up in the air whether she's a renegade because of the amazons or made the amazons because she went renegade. This origin as a separate human species made by an old one seems to clash with the fluff that would have them come from the norscan women that fled into the jungles and found some lizard trinkets for themselves, but it's possible that the norscan women joined the local amazons, or inherited their stuff after finding their ruins. The enmity with the lizardmen isn't always present either, they've joined forces in multiple instances and they're the only beings other than the slann allowed to bathe in the emerald pools the slann use to rejuvenate themselves.

A few threads ago, someone had posted a pic showing all remaining Fantasy models that are still lingering in AoS, yet the image was too small and blurry.I recreated it in larger size and updated it.
>>96833436Endtimes on the right, older on the left?
>>96833482Yup.
>>96833436so... dark elves soon?
>>96832720White Dwarf used to be so sovl before it became printed out facebook for boomers.
>>96833436Is GW going to only dripfeed older models as time goes on? Are they that scared of TOW selling more units over AoS?
>>96833436Based, thanks a lot anon.
>>96832814>Norscans make colony on lustria>Men fuck off to look for gold, find baby slaan whos a top bloke so he is and becomes their leader when he grows up as a skinny, ripped slaan>Women defend home base from all the horrors of Lustria>Men return broke and beaten and tell them back to the kitchen its the mens time to run shit>They decide fuck that and all the valkyries leave in exile>In the Amazon River find ancient Lizardmen town in ruin with a female old one imprisoned beneath it>Teaches them how to use some Lizardmen tech including Skink Spawning pools to create new daughters without needing men>Have shamans, leopard warriors that fight with magic clawed gauntlets, archers and lizardmen style dinosaur mounts>Elves and Dwarves bring back tales of "the vile amazons">Leads to mercs capturing a bunch and selling them off in the empire as slave girls.>Most escape easily except the ones in a certain damned city where they were taken to be dancers during the big festival of 1999...I honestly think if we don't get Lizardmen back we will get Amazons are our big lustria army in TOW.
>>96833501Not terribly soon, they'll likely go to legends first. Wouldn't surprise me if that happens when their next battletome drops though, given how cities is starting to get a new identity instead of "something to do with all your old leftover WHFB minis".
>>96833563tow could do the funniest shit and bring back all the oldhammer stuff instead of real lizardmen
>>96833632Khuresh Snakemen could take a lot of elements of pre-5th edition Lizardmen
>>96833656if kuresh gets evil snakemen there must be a way for snakemen to get redeemed maybe under sotek or rigg?
>>968326170 interest in it or it's models. Same as votann
>>96833668probably Sotek, since he is the Snake God or the Khursh Snakemen could be the Darker side of Sotek worship, compared to Lustrian Skinks
>>96833563>norscan valkyries that stumbled on an old one and became aztec cultistssounds pretty based.
>>96833668or maybe not all snakemen went chaos in the first place
>>96833563>we will get Amazons are our big lustria army in TOWFuck yeah, that'd be even better
>>96833536ToW at full shilling failed to clear just Darkoath
>>96833436Nice, good work. I remember that post, I wanted to reach through the screen and shake the life out of the guy. He was like "I know this picture is completely illegible, but maybe it's still legible?? Up to you."
I know we're all fake grogs here pretending we have been playing since the 90's, but how many other anons came over from AoS? Those of us at my LGS that had compatible AoS armies tried TOW when it launched and several of us haven't looked back since. Any other AoS to Fantasy converts?
>>96833536At this point they've been up against the wall re: their plastic production capacity for years. No analysis of what they do or don't decide to sell can be made outside of the understanding that they frequently sell out of the new stuff and masses of older kits are constantly out of stock. Until they get their new factory up and running we can't really say shit.
>>96833436This does make me wonder how many Arcane Journals they could justify. I mean the answer is basically 'however many it takes before they stop making money' but without getting too dumb, like an AJ with Savage Orcs and Night Goblins or Forest Goblins and idk what would work against them Basic bitch Orcs but with a tactikill bent?Or Dwarfs getting an AJ with miners/excavators and Norse Dwarfs.Empire with Ulricans vs Sigmarites,
>>96833989Didn't a 3rd factory line open up in July? And they are working on a 4th now to open next summer?
>>96834003I believe the last facility (or addition, can't remember) they opened was only for paint production. And the impending one is currently being delayed by rare bats roosting on the construction site (really).
>>96834017hmmm and it looks like the new facility is for packaging which is currently done at the existing factories.
>>96833986I did, I made the leap when they released Cathay
Kislev when? Are they waiting for the Ukraine war to end so they can sell their products in Russia again?
>>96834146It's possible, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a decent backlog of stuff to pad out waiting for the war to either end or leave peoples minds. Hell cathay still only has 3 mainline units (warriors/Lancers/artillery) and 2 specailty units (lantern and sentinel) to go with their single Lord (gate master) and hero lord (miao ying)
>>96833436Ogres, Giant, Nurgle and Delfs are leaving AoS soon
>>96833986Only person I know who religiously played Aos at my group tried tow a couple times, and then moved on to some other rank and flank game. Idk what it was but that fizzled out afterwards too.
>>96834241Giants having their own faction is odd in general frankly.
>>96834271It was neat on paper. Basically "we had a sit down with the ogres, nice lads, and they says they do that if we dont just smash people they PAY us more over time than in the one smashin' "
>>96834279So what giants in AoS are just bigger ogres without guns?
>>96834271Mostly it was a fun option considering they could be played in anything mostly. Ogres, Orcs, whatever could take giants and everyone else could take one of the regular or new bigger ones
>>96834271they tried to replicate the success of imperial knights in 40kexcept they didn't deliver on the one fucking thing that would sell the idea of an army of giants: armors
>>96834304You mean to tell me that people don't like painting a LOT of bare flesh? At least the Bonegrinder you can't get a little creative with.
>>96834146Probably war in Ukraine + they saw non-one liked nu-Kislev in TWW.(unlike Cathay who had fans as soon as they were announced)
>>96828732She seems nice! Where is the model from?
>>96834449The bear fetish was kinda of ehh but the big issue with Kislev is that they use a lot more magic weapons than i would have thought. Also that dumb ass sled with ice ski's.
I have never purchased a new warhammer model, everything is second hand.
>>96834449The magic ice bullshit and too many bears was one thing. Bearable if you will. The DLC adding Things in the Woods and Frost Wyrms was without a doubt the worst dlc in TW history for how it ruined the faction.
>>96834466Based
Alright dude
>had to sell it all to pay rent for that summer when I was broke two years agoI miss them lads (they did pay for 2.5 months rent though)
>>96834576Damn what a collection. RIP. Glad to hear you're out of the shit.
>>96834576Broke nigga problems.. can't relate
>>96834611Perrynigger one day I will find you and hold you accountable
>>96834576Feels bad man. I’d want to keep a core set of units if I ever sold my guys….
>>96834540/ss/
>>96832800what parts are these using?
>>96834500Get ready for the DLC that adds the Golden Knight, a strong female champion whose father was the previous knight.
>>96834576Hopefully they're marching out somewhere scratching out grudges.
>>96834673I genuinely don’t care about her being a woman I do care that her design is terrible much like most of the Kislev dlc stuff. She looks like a character in a shitty Chinese MOBA, not Warhammer. I really really hope GW reworks a lot of the TWW Kislev stuff design wise.
>>96834734They probably don’t have a sensitivity team for making things based on Eastern European culture, they probably have more freedom to change things.
>>96834750I hope GW doesn't pussy out of giving Mother Stinky her chicken leg hut like CA did.
>>96834750>>96834765I hope they go pretty hard with the changes. Keep stuff like Tzar Guard and Armoured Kossars. The ice guard are dumb and need to not be using magical ice weapons and bows but actual weapons. No frost wyrms, no ice bear elemental behemoth.
>>96834794The sword is supposed to be braced against your other arm not be all the way behind your head you just look like a fuckboi elf
>>96834673It's the same DLC lol
>>96834778I didn't mind the Ice Witch Guard when their concept was a very small elite corp of Ice Witches who stuck close to the Tzarina. I definitely didn't like the flanderization of Kislev into BEARS BEARS BEARS and MAGICAL ICE EVERYWHERE.>>96834500I used mods to give Ostankya spiders and other woodland beasts to recruit, which made her campaign more fun since she didn't feel like just another Kislev run with a few forest ambushers.
>more humans Yawwwn. If Kislev got those wendigos and other inhuman shit I’d be interested but I don’t give a fuck about another discount human faction.
Should I:>trudge on with my Empire (Nuln) army that has lost quite a lot of momentum and steam, you could say, and has quite the amount of grey plastic but no motivation to be painted for right nowOr>build a Tomb Kings army
>>96834986Follow your heart, anon, follow your heart.
>>96834986Tomb Kings. The skeletons will always be there for you when you want to paint mindlessly.
>>96834986>should I finish that I started, or just consoom more What do you think, anon
What colour would you paint a Preyton?
>>96835047Id probably just prime it, then talk about how I'm totally gonna paint it by next game I just can't decide on a colour scheme,Then I might ask if I can proxy it as a Bretonian lord on pegasus for a few games before putting it up on eBay for 95% retail
>>96835060Our LGS has one guy like that. Starts roughly 2-3 armies every year and then a few months later you can find them being sold at the local facebook market base half assembled and primed grey
>>96832800I currently run Amazons as proxies instead of regular Daemonettes because good lord I hate the modern Daemonette sculpts.
These sell for a small fortune on ebay. $160 before shipping CAD for a box of 10. GW needs to add Vampire Counts back asap and rerelease this box
>>96835621There are better interactive, believe me. Gw skeletons are fiddly as shit.
>>96835623Alternatives not interactive, fuck autocorrect
>>96835623>>96835626nta, but any suggestions? These just have so much character.
>>96835621I think we'll get Vampire counts next year to compliment Kislev. Not sure what else though.... Skaven were mostly taken out of AoS not to long ago so they are kind of likely as well i guess.....
>>96835650>character Nigga these are skeletons. Borderline naked ones.Anyways wga, oathmark, mantic, take your fucking pick.
holy fuck i hate assembling these new tomb king characters, the fucking connection points barely even exist
>>96835621These were my first ever fantasy minis.Started 40k with dark vengeance starter box. Going from monopose to skeletons was amazing.Still got 20 of them but wish I got more : (
>>96833932Hey fuck you too buddy I got the image from tga where it was already compressed to high heaven
>>96832621absolute least necessary kit they could have done, incredible that GW could decide to do this before O&G get a plastic wyvern, Beastmen get a plastic chariot or WE get a plastic dragon. Man GW HQ must be a fucking clusterfuck and hive of confusion, rather than leaking models it'd be hilarious if someone dumped the internal minutes and reports just once.
>>96833991They can make as many arcane journals as they want because they can fill them with fucking nothing but redundant rules and some paraphrased text written by chatgpt. The one about norscans is just for 2 unit kits. The arcane journal about settra's war accompanies only 2 hero kits. The second journal about Cathay was made to accompany no miniatures.
I have pulled the trigger on two of these boxes and 100 40mm squares. I will carry the torch.
>>96836178pretty cool, you can easily convert the second tyrant into a battle standard bearer but you also need to get a butcher
>>96836152What even was in the cathay one?
>>96836192>but you also need to get a butcherYes, and I refuse to work with resin when metal is an option. Just grabbed this. I am basically set now. Maybe a box or two of Ironguts

Should I buy up all the chaos warriors I can find n anticipation that they will go out of production?
>>96836538No i don't think Chaos Warriors will go out of production for a while.
>>96836528
>>96836528last one
Managed to get some 7th edition fanatics on ebay today
>>96836628Still think you should have gone for the newer ones for those, the style isn't that different and it's justified by them getting freak juice anyway, but you do you
Are all TOW minis 28 mm?
>>96836652They're all over the place, so just get anything that you think looks best regardless of how precisely it matches the scale of other units or other armies.
>>96836344yeah
>>96836630I get them eventually because i love night goblins minis regardless of edition but i like the new fanatics less than the old ones.I dislike the new poses and the long hoods they have, pic related is small, charming and full of character plus they dont go over the base as much as the new ones do.
>order models from Element Games>ships from nottingham store to my house in under 24 hours>order model thats only on the warhammer store>ships from nottingham store to my house in over 5 days>both use the same mail service. Its not even the fact GW is more expensive for the same models, its not even the website was designed to be used on ipads bolted to walls in "the warhammer store"s its how everything they do down to mailing a single fucking box the size of a box of nuggies is worse than when you go anywhere else.
>>96836528>>96836601>>96836605nice
Got a 1000p game scheduled for tomorrow, it’s most likely gonna be my Beastmen against the stunty beard-things.
Can ogres ride mammoths?
welp according to leaks Ogre Kingdoms are returning with an Arcane Journal next year. How insufferable are Dark Elfags going to be this time?
>>96836861Dark elf fags have to understand that they will not return until age of sigmar gets its own brand of shadowselfs darknesskin™
>>96836874>Umbraneth Shadewalkers were planned for 2nd edition but put back because dark elves were not that popular and the face of spitting on the company was a guy burning his dark elf army after aos was announced. They are their own worst enemy.
>>96835621Bruh, just get the AoS skeletons. They're much better-looking and the old skellies.
>>96836861Did the leaks mention Kislev?
>>96836874I can't believe they haven't used Dark Elves to introduce literal dark elves into AoS yet. You'd think that'd be an easier diversity shoehorn than turning chaos barbarians into butch lesbians
>>96836882than*
>>96836882NTA but those are a better fit for Kislev themed Grave Guard than regular Skeletons.
>>96836882I did and do not recomend it. is there any point for the herald to be on a mount for tomb kings? I already have the "old" herald with banner and Im wondering if I should just build two monarchs, one on foot and one on horse.
>>96836896>Kislev vs Ogres in the frozen north eastbros..home...

>>96836907>here lies anon, he never scored
i'm gonna laugh so hard if ogres come back and delves don't. Just to spite the one asshole that lurks these threads swearing "DE are the most popular faction" but you never ever see a single fucking model being painted.
>>96836909but seriously though
>>96836913DE? Like i could understand Vampire counts but how deluded must you be to think DE are the most popular Fantasy faction not in yet. Admittedly Ogres are pretty far down the list but they can be used as mercs can't they?
>>96836861>welp according to leaks Ogre Kingdoms are returning with an Arcane Journal next year.God I hope so, and early too.
>>96836896It would be so kino.
>>96836896Switch Ogres for Chorfs and it would be kino.
>Kislev vs Ogres>Romanovs vs the great Khan fantasy editionWe are about to reach levels of sovl not seen since 6th edition.
>>96836938Chorfs are dumb memeshit for people that like rick and morty. Ogres are for men of culture.
>>96836907You never had an idea after all this time? Thought a mayfly would put more value on its limited life.
>>96836939It does beg the question of who would be funding those ogre mercs, Vampire counts are about the only ones who would make sense.
>>96836952Nobody needs to fund them. Cathay dropped a chunk of Morrsleib on them and made the chaos wasteland south of the silk road analogue so they are currently roaming further north because while they are unaffected by chaos theres no plunder to be had.Meanwhile the Beastmen and Chaos tribes are pushing into Kislev from the south and west forcing people to travel in a wide arc east then south along the mountains to trade with the empire. Prime raiding bait for hungry lads.
>>96836896They specifically rereleased the aos skelly kit earlier this year with a few modifications because they kept getting so many complaints about its fragility.
>>96836838not in rules, but yesit's what they should have gotten instead of the disgusting thundertusk
>>96836861>welp according to leaks Ogre Kingdomsfake shit, there are no leaks of the sort
>>96836985Actually theres been a fair few rumors along with the fact their entire model line is being retired from AoS and replaced. Your Dark Elves aren't coming back bro, nobody else likes them.
>>96836929>they can be used as mercs can't they? That's the reason why it's absurd for them to return, at least before more prominent factions like DE or Vampire Counts.
>>96836991Sounds like they're simply next in line. This year was chorfs, next year is ogres, the year after, who knows? But I admit it would be pretty funny if Delves never were freed from their purgatory.
>>96836991Removed & replaced =/= return to TOW.
>>96836991speculation aren't rumors and their model line getting replaced means nothing on their reintroduction into tow or vampires and skaven would also be reintroduced, and before ogresyou're running on your own delusions, retard.
>>96836985>He's already here to have a meltyDelfag pls go and stay go.
>>96834540God I wish that were me
>>96833436Isn't the ogre portion missing a fair few kits? Butcher, the maneater characters, yhetees, some other stuff? >>96836991Worth noting some stuff is staying. The big monster kit and the scraplauncher for sure, I think the gnoblars too.

>>96836882Managed to rank these up on 20mm squares just a few days ago (with unit fillers of course), all painted up now. I much prefer the old skeleton kit because at least the skeletons there look like they're marching. These ones just stand around looking retarded
>>96836907>"Men move so fast… our arrows must fly faster still."That or something horny like "uwu I'm gonna step on you mayfly" like you actually want
>>96837082Guy on the bottom left has sick skeleton Warrior Priest potential, the rest belong in the trash

>>96832617Cathay's shit. Warhammer is shit. Games Workshop was a mistake.
>>96836838An ogre riding a mammoth is how you were conceived.
>>96836913In that anon's defense, there was a very brief time where dark elves were the most popular army in the game according to the statistics GW released after one of the big events back in 6th, iirc. That event coincided with the army getting a new book and new models, so take it with a grain of salt. That all being said, they should bring back all the legacy factions, including the dark elves, as soon as possible. It's bullshit that they even considered not supporting a single army. As for ogres... they don't appeal to me in any way, so I don't care if they come back first. I've already got my warriors of chaos going, so I have no horse in this race.
>>96837010>empire range retired from aos>goes to TOW>beastmen range retired from aos>goes to TOW>ogre ranged about to be retired from aos>n-no into the void with those!
>>96836907just something with mayfly or lumberfoot
>>96837109There's no ogre rumor.
>>96837134lizardmen?
>>96837127There was no period where dark elves weren't somewhat popular.
>>96837150Actually most of Seraphon is still WHFB. Slaan, Warriors, Kroxigor, Chameleons and technically Kroak as a dual kit with the Slann are all the new shit they have the rest is all side game stuff like warcry and underworlds. Everything else is still WHFB models.
>>96837164I see. thought they already updated pretty much everything in AoS.
>>96837134skaven and vampires have already been updated and yet aren't reappearing in tow, and dark elves are also on the way out, and yet you are autistic against them for some reason.Lizardmen too could be reintroduced into tow with minimal overlap with their aos range already.
>>96837149There Is No Ogre Rumor
A fantastic set of two 500 games with the brave Dawi against the narcotic forces of Nurgle! Thane Grumgrimm proved his worth, duelling the enemy general in a ferocious challenge. A glorious day to tabletop!
>>96837157That is true, I did not say otherwise.
>>96837174But Skaven and Vampires at this point in time are not involved in the affairs of the old world. Ogres are. Shit they have models in four different armies right now. Theres a world of difference between "stuck in a civil war deep underground for so long people think they are cryptids" and "guy who lives a bit east of here" in terms of viability of naturally showing up right now. Like the Cathay AJ specifically talks about them as a problem on their border as bad as the chaos tribes in the north. Thats a current and present force.
>>96837208>But Skaven and Vampires at this point in time are not involved in the affairs of the old worldFluff literally doesn't matter, it's written as excuses to support what's to be done, it gets bent at a moment's notice, not the other way around, ogre kingdoms too are uninvolved in the affairs of the old world, since they're a legacy faction, lizardmen and dark elves and chaos dwarfs too are just "a bit over there".If you want to speculate about the return of ogres as a core faction, do so, but don't pretend your wishes are anything but, let alone rumors.
>>96836722Element Games is run by very competent people too, while I can only assume GW warehouses are run by fuckoff wagies who work as little as possible. Small stores only survive by strong local communities and excellent service, since they can't win on economies of scale. So they run a tight ship. >>96836907Alix Wilton Reagan? She's hot.>>96837174The whole refusal to double dip on model ranges is such a retarded corporate bit. The AoS vamps have some genuine winners that could and should go on a ToW tabletop. On the other hand, the selfsame decision let me buy my beloved Orc and goblin infantry again, instead of their "dynamically posed" and reimagined AoS cousins, so I guess it's all gravy in the end.
>>96837108Brother, you are touched in the head if you think the spearskellie looks bad. I get that you don't like the AoS skellies and prefer the old Fantasy ones. I also get that you're frustrated that the old skellies are so hard to get and so expensive, but you're letting your frustration with the current state of affairs color your perceptions about how things look.
>>96837164Kroak is a separate kit from the normal slann, dropped a while before the rest of the range refresh. You forget the salamander which they replaced with the spawn of chotec, razordon got dropped completely iirc. They also retired the tetto'eko model which was used a skink starseer in aos. >>96837574I think they are all equally likely, except for Daemons. GW doesn't really know what to do with that entire faction range in general regardless of the setting or system they are in.

You got your warcraft chorfs in AoS and thats all you will ever get.
I’m of mixed opinion on the prospect of coming back to TOW. Cause on one hand I’m saving a lot of money on them not being involved, but on the other hand it really would be neat to build an army instead of small painting projects. The first Cathay AJ had a lot of their history with the Ogres and the Sky Titans and their range has new Ogres in it for the cannons. They’re on someone’s mind in the design team, but only time will tell.

>>96833668>The Pure: The Untold Story of Chaz Elliott's Snakemen>Back in the dawning of the Warhammer world, one man had a vision of a subterranean empire, a hollow realm where creatures part man and part snake burrowed and writhed in the dark, tainted earth beneath the frozen northern chaos wastes. That man was Chaz Elliott, and this is his story, the untold origin of the iconic, enigmatic Citadel snakemen sculpts that captured the imagination of many and generates discussion in places like FB and the Oldhammer forum to this day. (Please note, the following is taken from my chat logs from a several month period and may be altered for convenience and legibility).>CC: When the subject of your snakemen sculpts comes up on our forum, a common theme is one of discussing their origins - questions arise like what are their rules? What base size were they intended for? Are they just a different class of beastman? Can you please shed some light on how the snakemen came about? >Chaz: Split off from the Slann - feckup breeding program - they went to the darkside and moved to the frozen north to build new underground breeding pits so they could return to Lustria and take it back from the alien overlords -- or something like that. Wanted a barbarian feel to them - like badass snakes that live in a cold climate cos they are dead ard. [They would use] Sigil magic - based around shards of the first hatching.>CC: That's fascinating. Who pitched that idea? >Chaz: Me. Never took off. Jez thought that they were too close to his style and told me to stop copying him - find some originality - and move my wrist more. Sage advice.>CC: Ooer...>Chaz: The discussion with Jez was amiable - he was a good teacher- his perspective was to set me on my own journey of discovery rather than slavish adulation - did me a favour - now I can sculpt in a myriad of different styles - always good to have a hero to inspire you - even better if they give you good advice.

>>96837907>CC: What other ideas were there for the snakeman range that you'd hoped to realise? >Chaz: snakes riding large earth elemental wurms - digging and delving through the frozen north - encountering warpstone and mutating - battles between Natural Born and Warped Snakemen - that kind of pooh.>CC: Sounds awesome! You didn't happen to make any sketches did you? >Chaz: I did - but lost the sketchbook some time ago - A friend took some photocopies as he was a figure frother -- but he passed away 5 yrs ago and his wife threw everything out -- had my ideas and sketches for Ogres in there too.>CC: I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, and the art. Did you have a name for the snakemen?>Chaz: S'nethen -The Pure.>While his vision of the tunneling wurms was more along the lines of a beast with an omni-directional head with a twelve-piece jaw, each segment having a single eye on it (like the most nightmarish D12 you ever saw) and a whole lot more spines, I'm willing to take some artistic licence here. https://funkywenisrodeo.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-pure-untold-story-of-chaz-elliotts.html?m=1

>>96838397Looks good. What region of the Empire is that?
>>96839073The issue with Frost Wyrms, the elemental bear and Incarnate of beasts is that they would probably all require a Wizard to be useable for an army, either Ice or Hag. Bears aren't big enough to be considered a 'centerpiece' and they don't traditionally have anything that'd really be considered a 'centerpiece' even in WH3 outside those units. I could maybe see Kislevite heavy war sleds as a centerpiece unit.... at a stretch, maybe have 2 variants one for Heavy War sled with gunners one with a mortar on it. Really i'd expect bears to be extremely limited to Lord mounts and Heavy sleds to begin with.

Thoughts on running a chaos warrior deathstar with 28 warriors with shields, halberds, the war banner and the taskmaster's scourge on the champion, a chaos lord (CoEC, Pendant of Damnation, Sword of Might, favour of the gods, enchanting aura), aspiring champion (bsb, favour of the gods, icon of darkness, diabolic splendour), sorcerer lord (battle magic, skull of katam, power scroll, spell familiar, favour of the gods), and an exalted sorcerer (daemonology, spell familiar, tome of the dark gods for fleshy abundance and acquiescence)? I know it's not competitively viable, but surely with this much investment my chaos warriors will be able to accomplish something, right?

>>96843069Lists are not as important as how you play, but having said that:Duke in 1K games is obscene, I only use palladins in those games. You'll free up a lot of points so you can add anoher knight unit (or two!), this army desperatly needs more triangles on the table.
>>96843084My Duke always has the same set up, with 5 games now, I can never seem to get him in combat and when he has made it into combat Killing Blow/Monster Slayer has never gone off.I feel at this point I have to use him till he finally works. In the above game, I was tabled, I killed the Treekin Elder, that was it. My Duke + Pegasus Knights charged the Treekin and failed to kill any of them. The Elder challenged First Knight, who accepted, the rest fought the other 2 Treekin. I rolled bad and her rolled great and made 5 regen saves. We were then stuck in combat and his Wardancers charged into my flank and it was game over for me.
List building for some armies is abysmally fucking boring to me for some reason. Manoeuvred my Men-at-Arms to block his General from charging into my Pegasus Knights. Charged my Duke and Pegasus into his Treekin. The Ancient challenged and my First Knight accepted. I rolled poorly, he rolled great regen, I think I did 7 wounds over all but he made 5 regen saves. I win the combat, they fell back in good order and I followed. His Turn 3: Shot at my Men-at-Arms. Charged his Wardancers into my Pegasus and wiped them out. My Duke challenged his Ancient and killed it but lost combat and fell back in good order. We called the game there.
>>96843450Sounds like your best units got sniped then by screening them woth other units, you made them "invalid" as they couldn't monouver or charge, letting hour infantry get slaughtered and mop up the rest.TOW is a hard ass game though I suggest looking at deployment. If you have a thin line of archers, place them in front of your knights. Once charged, flee them, ideally through your knights and counter charge. As well, to avoid anons dogpiling, I suggest using Grand Melee compositions (max 25%) as it will enforce a mutually levelled playing field than standard restrictions. Good luck!
>>96843499I'm really not sure what to do. He has a lot of very powerful shots with a huge range, 20 32" AP-2 shots really hurts. The Strikes first on his Wardancers and the high initiative on his Wild Riders also really hurts as I feel like Pegasus are glass cannons and getting hit first wipes them out before they can do anything. Even if I rebuild my army from scratch it feels really skewed.
>>96843527Welcome to warhammer, a broken game where the game can end at listbuilding.Utilize terrainScreen your units with cheap trash unitsFlank a lot, positioning wins gamesDont run heroes outside of unitPegasi are for warmachine / beast hunting. You might achieve something with them against shooting heavy elves by positioning them in such a way as to have terrain block elves from shooting themDont pray against shooting lists, just rush forward
>>96843527Again, agree Grand Melee restrictions and that should help a bit. 25% point cap on units of total points.
>>96842934Looking good anon
>>96843815Well I want to fight the guy again with the same list and same terrain as I feel like I will learn better than way. But to be honest I don't think my list stands a chance but I am trying to understand why it doesn't stand a chance. I guess I want to build a "blind list" that is generic, as in I turn up to play against someone and don't know what they are bringing. Tailoring my list to beat his or changing the rules at this point feels like cheating. And I also want to understand why say a Duke is good in a 2000 point list but not a 1000 point list, like why something can be good at 1000 points and bad at 2000 and vice-a-versa. How does a 1000 points difference shift the mechanics that drastically?
>>96843894>why something can be good at 1000 points and bad at 2000 and vice-a-versaunit numbers. 1k has a higher power core units compared to 2k where core units are usually completely your chaff/tarpits/etc. In 1k a couple small units of archers or hammers can break special or even rare units very easily. Those special units don't have enough back up to shine. In 2k those small units of core are nearly ignorable, which is why they are there for objective control. Basically, the ratios are the same from 1k to 2k, but the raw number of models is different. And 1 arrow killing a knight in 1k is way more impactful than 2 arrows killing 2 knights in 2k.
>>96834003Wayland Games claimed they were, but Wayland Games could tell me the sky was blue and I'd still feel the urge to stick my head out of a window and check.
>>96843894oh, could you also post his list?
>>96843971nm, I'm blind. Just looking at this now.
>>96843914So would this list play better at 1000 points?++ Characters [292 pts] ++Paladin [216 pts] (Hand weapon, Lance, Heavy armour, Shield, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), General, Royal Pegasus, Gromril Great Helm, Virtue of the Impetuous Knight)Damsel [76 pts] (Hand weapon, Wizard [Level 1 Wizard], Bretonnian Warhorse, Elementalism)++ Core Units [480 pts] ++6 Mounted Knights of the Realm [190 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances, Shields, Heavy armour, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), First Knight (champion), Standard bearer [The Blazing Banner], Musician)6 Knights Errant [120 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances, Shields, Heavy armour, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), Gallant (champion))5 Squires [45 pts] (Hand weapons, Longbows, Fire & Flee, Scouts)5 Squires [45 pts] (Hand weapons, Longbows, Fire & Flee, Scouts)5 Squires [45 pts] (Hand weapons, Longbows, Fire & Flee, Scouts)5 Squires [35 pts] (Hand weapons, Longbows)++ Special Units [228 pts] ++3 Pegasus Knights [228 pts] (Hand weapon, Lances, Shields, Heavy armour, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), First Knight (champion), Standard bearer [Errantry Banner], Musician)It feels weird breaking everything down into smaller units, my brain is telling me bigger is more powerful. I feel like this would let me place my Squires at the end and then Vanguard move them to block los, allowing my big hitters to get in.Also with my current list I feel like it's impossible for me to beat Wardancers and Wild Riders. They seem overwhelmingly powerful.
>>96843069>5 Glade Guard [75 pts]That's pretty cringe for a 1k wood elf list to be fair, and borderline WAAC. The rest of the list is fine though. He could have taken the bow on his shadowdancer and just gigafucked you.>>96843975Yes, but you would still fail to the wood elf list. Impetuous would only need to fail once to lose the match.>Wardancers and Wild RidersCause your current list can't do anything to them. The list in this one does a lot better, and would most likely deal with them fine, but the treekin would be nearly indestructible and his characters will eat you.You do have a chance with this list though if things don't random charge. Would come down to terrain, placement of troops, and a little bit of luck.
>>96844263So how do I deal with those threats? Because I don't have a clue.

>>96844560That's it. At that point I suredered. Pretty one-sided game. I managed to kill literally one dude. I hate gyrocopters, I hate longbeards. Next time I'm gonna play Nuln. 2 more cannons (out of 4) and 3 more engineers have been ordered.

>>96844630The tower wasn't mine. I'm not to blame. I was pissed tho', because I was not allowed to charge his flank because of that shit. >>96844322Do what his list does but better? I've not played as Bretonnia but I think this list would be great against basically everything except probably dwarves. Anyone else thoughts?I'm really not a fan of Pegasus Knights in a 1k list the more I look at them. That's a TON of points for 6 wounds that get shot down by short bows or blow darts, let alone fuckshit bows like wood elves. I'd stick Damsel near Pegasus, the banner Paladin with the Yeomen both in skirmish, the squires in mid/side front deploy and march them up keeping the knights behind them. The Pegasus Knights opposite side of Yeomen unless they turtle. On the turn you charge, unleash hell with everything, force them to run through each other for evasive/flees, and anything you don't connect with from the charge won't be able to flee your arrows. Ignore, kite, and avoid the treekin until everything else is done. The Yeomen are there to shoot and force their archers to take it or flee towards your squires. On the charge your Yeomen/paladin have standing +4CR.Errantry Crusades, Open War - [999 pts]Paladin, Lance, Shield, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), General, Bretonnian Warhorse, Ruby Ring of Ruin, Burning Blade - 122Paladin, Lance, Shield, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), Battle Standard Bearer, Bretonnian Warhorse, Virtue of Duty - 107Damsel, Wizard [Level 1 Wizard], Bretonnian Warhorse, Illusion - 765 Squires, Fire & Flee - 405 Squires, Fire & Flee - 405 Knights Errant, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), Gallant (champion) - 1015 Mounted Knights of the Realm, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), First Knight (champion), Standard bearer [The Blazing Banner] - 1593 Pegasus Knights, The Crusader's Vow (replaces the Knight's Vow), First Knight (champion) - 1845 Mounted Yeomen, Feigned Flight, Warden (champion), Standard bearer - 855 Mounted Yeomen, Feigned Flight, Warden (champion), Standard bearer - 85

>>96845044>allied wood elves dryads. No those are stinky, high elves should have their own special tree stuff. >And silver helms and basic bitch infantry are literally the eldest plastic minis gw sells. While I agree the archers and spearmen need updates, helms hold up well.
>>96845044> And silver helms and basic bitch infantry are literally the eldest plastic minis gw sells.Much of the Orcs & Goblins range is older. Tomb Kings skeletons are based on the 90s era Undead kit with an extra sprue added so I'd class them as older as well.Pretty sure the oldest GW kit is the Eldar Falcon, which 100% does still stand up.
>>96845031>if those need an update, everything in that rang needs an update, and it really doesnt.you don't know what you're talking about and evidently haven't seen the kit in question, they aged better than the basic infantry, but they are just as old and outdated as them

They are so fast, their initiative is higher, they have eleven reflexes and are going to counter charge. You're probably looking at 9I Vs 6I. Their WS is higher and they also have AP-2, so at best we have a 5+/6+ save. And do furious charge and frenzy go off on a counter charge? If so your potentially going into 15 attacks.
