Any tips regarding using superglue? Really fucked up assembling resin model I got online, some part sticked really easily (like the head of this not!weirdboy) but the legs and arm were a chore to put on, don't know if this was because of the surface itself or if the glue I have is a bit shit. Ended up staining the model quite a bit; and got quite a lot on my end; do you use a specific type of glove to avoid that?
Will prime them tomorrow; but I should really finish painting the vanilla grots I have since last year when I started out.
Also, washing the resin mini with soap is mandatory right? Ordered these online and I forgot to do so before working on them

Washing with soap is basically essential, yes. You don't know if they washed the releasing agent off entirely or if they even tried to. If that's still on, nothing will adhere and you'll end up how you did.

With resin you need to wash it with soap first due to the leftover greese from the mould. As for glue any GEL superglue. If there are no cheaper alternatives near you, you can always get the Green Stuff World Gel Superglue.

Warm is fine. Too hot may soften the resin enough to warp a bit - which is good if you need to fix anything. I'd say room temp is sufficient. The few kits they actually did get are quite good-looking. I also think the rules are fine considering that there are so few units to make do with. The weakest part of the codex is actually the fluff, and that's not so much because it adds anything bad, rather it feels like it just reiterates the same points over and over without adding anything new and interesting. So much of the word count is spent on telling the reader basically nothing.

space marines

battlesuits are larger and have many flat surfaces, you need a different type of painting skills, closer to the ones you need for tanks than the ones you need for infantry, making them a bit harder for beginners

unless you're fine with making them flat or are willing to learn from tutorials on how to best apply colours on large planes, add camo, and weather the shit

To be fair, the setting isn't very consistent on it. Sure, in the "Victory" trailer Guilliman was depressed and dour about the Imperium's chances, but in The Silent Kind Guilliman is full-on noblebright "Humanity is the master of the stars, your time has passed" downright optimistic
>>

Silent King takes place before Dark Imperium and the 4th Tyrannic War
>>
>>96833626
First option is the canon one.
But I do like this anon's idea >>96833651
Imperium IS getting stronger and has gained advantages and advances in the form of Cawl and his primaris and the primarchs. But humanity's enemies are also grown stronger and the galaxy has become more dangerous and treacherous.
So meaning, for all the advances Imperium has gotten/made, it is still far too little and far too late. And the fate of the Imperium and probably humanity as a whole is too late turn back.
>>
>>96833646

>but in The Silent Kind Guilliman is full-on noblebright "Humanity is the master of the stars, your time has passed" downright optimistic
Honestly that just feels more like Guilliman spouting standard Imperial propaganda at an alien.
Like Guilliman is both a realist and pragmatist, he is fully aware that both the Imperium and humanity are doomed and only thing he can really do is to just "ride it out" till the end. But Guilliman is also smart enough to not tell that to the enemy or his underlings, because he knows how big blow to morale it'd be if he let his underlings know how fucked the Imperium is and how it probably only has like couple centuries left in it, 1000 years at best, before the inevitable collapse.

I'm not saying they aren't canon or anything, I'm just saying you legitimately will probably enjoy 40k more if you don't read them or care that they exist.
>>
>>96833706
>None of this shit matters because despite everything that "happened" the setting at large is in the exact same place
I know that.
I'm still talking about the setting in general as a hypothetical, like the anon asked.
Howeber, truth is that Imperium is fucked and it will inevitably collapse, it is not a matter of "IF" but matter of "WHEN".
But we won't see that happen.

40k is never going to end, only time it will end is when it stops selling and then GW kills it off like it did to WHF with the End Times. But when does that happen? Nobody knows, if it ever happens even.

Since you don't know how to read about the faction you claim to care about:
Once more, the Redacted’s adapted plate answered. A flush of colour rippled through the ceramite scales. The darkness that the Alpha Legion had previously been was now bleached to Ultramarine blue and silver, with one pauldron and half-suit devoted to each colour: the honoured Chapter colours of the Marines Mordant. Occam pulled his cloak around to hide the legionary markings on his pauldron.

‘Quoda,’ Occam said. ‘The details.’

The squad sorcerer banged the base of his force sceptre against the floor. The azure crystal that made up the head of the weapon rang with mind-aching intensity, the serpentine psi-convector running through it amplified by Quoda’s telepathic powers. The former Librarian stared into the crystal, his faceplate reproduced in the crystal’s many facets. While cloaks and chameleonic plate could hide the Alpha Legion’s identity and give the impression that the renegades of the Redacted belonged to a different Chapter or warband, the devilry was in the detail. Carcinus Quoda used his powers to ensure that those encountering the Redacted saw what they expected to see. Details and expectations drawn from their own minds and therefore beyond reasonable suspicion: appropriate weaponry, insignia and honours, the acid-splash scars from the Assiduous’ battle with the tyranids.

Also: Flanderized AL are superior to GW AL anyway.

DE is the worst Army in the game since the Codex came out and while their player base is small and the handful of crazy good faction specialists will probably eventually push that win rate up towards 50%, the skill floor on the Army is insanely high now.
The Codex is overall a nerf to most units in damage and speed and objective play and then they got big point bumps everywhere besides.

I feel like they don't emphasize the disposability of marines enough. They're stronger than guards, sure, but their best quality is that their gene-seed makes them able to be inserted into a new body to create a new soldier much easier than the long process of making a new custodes. They are still supersoldiers but there's a large level of disposability to them that you don't see with other factions, where one Space Marine falls millions more stand ready to take his place, the loss of any chapter is no big deal since they can always just make more.

That's pretty cool. I like it.
It does give the AL a creepy doppelganger feel to them.

Wrote this, it's probably cringe but I got hung up on writing it.
Like imagining an Imperial Fist who is fighting a black legion warband on a planet with his company, but he and his battle brother have become separated from the squad in the midst of battle.
Clashing with a corrupt marine they came across trying to regroup with the squad, both suffering minor injuries.
But once the fight is over, during a moment of calm without hesitation the disguised alpha legion operative fires at the imperial fist at almost point blank range with his plasma pistol.

Wounding the him gravely, and as the marine is struggling, dying on the ground, blood pooling inside his lungs, with rage in his heart for the betrayal from his brother, yelling if the ruinous powers had corrupted his mind.
And as he is yelling, for only a moment he sees it. The alpha legionare's disguise flicker. For only a mere moment, revealing the disgusting truth of the deception to the him before the alpha legionare, without a word, executes him.
Taking the secret to his grave, never being able to warn his true brothers of the danger in their midst.

Like never?
Marine chapters get wiped regularly with like only 100 marines or less surviving regularly, who then just rebuild the chapter. And it's not surprising that the chapters can easily not only survive but then also keep their culture going.
The reason is the 10th scout company, it doesn't actually have a hard capped limit to its size. And remember, the chapters are only limited in how many full fledged MARINES are within the chapter. They can have as many scouts as they want who then just get promoted and receive their black carapace to become a full marine.
And since all marines and yes, even recruits, are all tasked to study, remember and pay respect to their chapter history, deeds, legends, philosophy and heroes, that is how the chapter culture survives and gets passed on despite like 90% of all full fledged marines get killed in a conflict.

That's why I write daemons as immaterial beings requiring flesh and blood sacrifice to create powerful yet mortal forms to roam the universe.

That way they're still dangerous, corrupting, insidious and killable, on the condition of extreme firepower (and so resource draining, which drains more of an already crippled location) or special anti-demon weaponry.

In short: I don't write myself into a corner nor do I let the genie out the fucking bottle.

The rational thing to do from their perspective it to create a “caste” of human psykers and try to brainwash them. ASAP

Its a diamond anon, turning it 90 degrees is the same thing as just stretching it horizontally.
I played around some more cleaning up the lines, making things touch and fill the space nicely. I quite love this final version. The "inner" black piece even kind of looks like a chess pawn or queen which I kinda like. So I also made some versions that leans on that a bit. It might be a bit much though, thoughts?

Daemons are resistant, not immune to gunfire.
Shadowsun, according to Phil Kelly, has adopted weaponized agnotism. The T'au have created psychic corps after the Damocles Crusade. They just don't have representation yet outside the Edification Corps that receive brief mentions in the lore as the T'au black-ops clean-up team when it comes to Chaos.

The Greater Good is 1 to 1 the Imperial Truth minus the anti-Xenos crap. Phil Kelly, again, said that the Aeldari believe that the T'au'Va has merit and it could save the galaxy.
>>

>>
>>96834373
The Eccelsiarchy and the worship of the Emperor and his sons as gods didn’t exist in 30k as it does in 40k, the Imperial Cult was not a ruling ideology. In the Dark Imperium trilogy there’s a side conflict where the Militant Apostolic believed so wholly in his personal mission to convince Gulliman he was a god he defied direct orders with “loopholes” and convinced a group of Sisters to slaughter Guard and Space Marines to bring a supposed Living Saint to Gulliman’s side. Big E would not let that shit slide if he was around as he was.

So… how DO you fight the Deathguard? Just total agent orange burn it all bomb from as far away as possible? Nurgle plagues are kinda crazy since they don’t care about the laws of reality. How do you disinfect the troops you send to fight them? Or do they just get shot by follow on troops and burned after they’ve been able to put down the plague marines?

Does this all mean you basically just need doctor priests or is faith no protection either?

Ok I have a slightly controversial idea. What if GW did a collaboration similar to what MTG is doing right now and 40K creates a new Army....the Republic! they would have the Jedi, the Sith and many other races and space ships to use and join with the 40k universe!
>>
I hate you people.
>>
>>96835336
No, you end up with dead space marines. You need to offer yourself to Nurgle to become a plague marine and only the weak to that.

Its more a gold/copper than flat orange.
Orange adjacent maybe and its more like a Sea Green.
This would probably be closer to teal.

Don't give them any ideas. Wozards explicitly came out and originally promised there would be no spin off sets, only individual products, and then when Disney and Square Enix offered them a big bag of gold coins they just pretended they never said that
>>
>>96835495
I, frankly, wasn't going to get it.
Looking at the kit and price, the savings is entirely on the characters, of which I already have my own.
>>
>>96835180
I suggest you go out and buy two boxes of the assault terminators and sit on them for 6 months to a year after we get new ones.

Just a heads up, you aren't supposed to have sharp corners in a light box that are in frame, let alone have your background have a big gaping gap in it for your camera sensor to focus on the cardboard instead of your minis
>>
>>96835538
I'll keep that in mind.
Its mostly been a hackjob one I've been using, as you probably figured.

>it costed $250
Good lord the christmas boxes are going to be expensive this time around. Im really capped out on gw stuff.
>>
>>96835520
Yes. Worked for me for sternguard, sang guard, old whfb skeletons, and some of the squatted stormcast stuff. If it's going oop, then someone wants it, and someone will pay a premium when they can't just go on gws website and buy one. Wh underworlds warbands also spike really hard provided they don't get a standalone army release.
>>
>>96835279
If you banish the demonic presence then the disease becomes something bound by reality. Gulliman was also able to just straight up delete a plague from the Great Unclean One Septicus that entered his suit, but he’s a Primarch so he’s the definition of built different.
>>
>>96835541
Always have your paper set up like pic related and have it curved along the back and bottom of your box. Also keep your framing of the photo so that only the subject is in frame, nothing but your white background and your subject should be visible through your camera. This will help your camera focus on what you want, by removing anything you wouldn't want it to focus on out of the photo.
>>
>>96835558
I'll need to keep that in mind, I'm saving that sheet so I can play around/get a better setup going forward.
>>
I hope my LGS gets enough of the box for my pre-order so I’m not waiting a stupid amount of time for Assault Terminators (and the Ancient). I suppose I technically still have a Dread and two units to paint still, but I’ve been waiting so long for them….

>Dude offers me EC Combat Patrol for 130 bucks
Is it worth it? I wish I could buy just one model to see if I even like the faction
>>
>>96835588
There's a reason he's selling it and that nobody wants to play ec despite having brand new models
>>
>>96835593
What's the reason
>>
>>96835586
Sisters of Battle slaying deamons is in their wheelhouse. Quit being a retard.
>>
>>96835543
I think its just because they knew Terminators would sell for that price. I think the xmas boxes will be similar to last year
>>
>>96835588
The draw for EC is Noise Marines, which currently aren’t in the Combat Patrol. If you wanted to check out the faction I’d go looking for one of those. The range is currently “incomplete” so I’d be warned it’s gonna be awhile before the mythical second wave (World Eaters are waiting on theirs)
>>
>>96835604
don't reply to your own bait
>>
>>96835594
Theyre not competetive right now. $130 is a good deal if you like the models. I bought a kit of noise marines even though I don't play EC just because I think theyre dope.

>>

So are Thousand Sons, technically. I worry that the Sekhetar robots are the "second wave"
>>
>>96835594
Barebones model line, not a lot of options in playstyle, unlikely to receive anything significant in terms of releases for quite a long time. Unless you absolutely love the models in the box I wouldn't bother.
>>
>>96835631
Idk why GW releases stuff in half waves
>>
>>96835619
>3 man Elite Unit
>Bespoke Terminators
>iconic Battleline
As far as infantry goes, they’re pretty spoken for. Robots were probably supposed to be a supplement, but no one seems to like them. Hopefully GW gets over themselves and release Legion Dreads for Chaos Marines instead of pretending the Hellbrutes are a good solution.
>>
>>96835608
>World Eaters are waiting on theirs)
Tsons have been waiting even longer, there is potential for there to be another decade of pity releases for ec
>>
>>96835643
So the Chaos Space Marines are the best Chaos faction to go for then? (Not a big fan of Death Guard)
>>
>>96835639
>no one seems to like them
I like them. Also theyre sold out in the U.S. so they can't be as disliked as people like to say.
>>
>>96835651
They’re the most complete not counting Death Guard. Hell, once the Nightlords get their second Kill Team they’ll be close to the World Eaters when it comes to being as fleshed out.
>>
>>96835651

>>

The more I read about different armies the more I want to build everything

I'm already in love with so many sm chapters, but it would also be fun to cover the board in kaiju-like tyrannids, or flood everything with massive green tide, snipe with armored-core like tau or abuse some psychic mystical shenanigans with eldar...

Maybe if I stick with it for a while and get a good job I can eventually catch em all...

>>
>>96835689

no nightlords decals on the sheet coming with them
Are all CSM black legion because they're the boxart scheme? Are all vanilla marines ultramarines? Are all eldar saim-hann?
