How do I design a deck game like poker?What I want is to draw 3 anime girls of 16 nations, and have like one girl per every major IRL race, but drawn as anime maid.But beyond that, I have no clue what to add as rules.

>>96846667Honestly? Play more games. Plan a game night where you and some friends play lots of different weird variants of poker for a night, then steal ideas from your favorites. They all follow the same general concept of "make a rare combination using your cards plus the center cards" but there are tons of twists. If you want to deviate from poker, you could try looking at small card games like Coup or Love Letter for inspiration. >3 anime girls of 16 nations plus a joker So basically just make a deck of cards with 16 "suits" as countries and 3 "ranks" as maids. Maybe one maid from each country is a Housekeeper and therefore higher ranked, so a hand of 3 Housekeepers could be a possible scoring combination. Or you could subdivide the countries into four continents, so a set of maids from one continent would score better. The one butler could be a wild, or maybe as a twist make it something you don't want in your hand. From there play with the probabilities and decide what combos should score highest.
Could do a set collection thing, where each of the 16 groups gives a special ability if you have all of them>gains x points per y that the opponent has>look at a random card in the opponent's hand>draw and discard until you get a <requirement> characterAnd so on. Honestly if poker is your gold standard though you really do need to play more games, it's the most boring basic ass coinflip shit.
