>thicc scorpion ladythis is off to a good start
>>96851915no, my spooky army should get more options.(This is my submission if collageman didn't see it last thread)
I'm kinda hoping that they use the 6th Sphere expansion as a way to sorta solidify the Tau lore. Right now they exist sorta in in-between their old lore, their new lore, and whatever nonsense Phil Kelly was writing. Not that I'm all that hopeful because I'm fairly certain the 6th Sphere will be against Ultramar and they'll fuck it all up.
the spooky part of my army is how poorly I've painted it
What are you working on /40kg/? I'm gonna finish the rest of my banner set, any suggestions for the designs?Post models.
>>96851915There's already plenty of spooky armies.
>>96851939You need to attach your submission to his anchor posts. He's not combing every single post
>>96851915>TQI wish thousand sons were spooky, they arent even grimdark. Just some out of place "chaos" marine army
>>96851983just paint them grimdark if you want them that way lol
>>96851939You need to start washing your minis before primer, and start wearing gloves while painting and using a painting handle. Anyone who's base rims are rubbing off that soon is a greasy fuck
>>96851983They're fine for chaos but a weird way to represent the type of chaos Tzeentch is. The marine half of the army anyways.
>>96851991maybe, it wasn't that bad before I started using white primer
>>96851968Kheradruakh would have been a better character release than Malys.
>>96852003White primer tends to have more gloss in it, which is more slippery. Generally it's not an issue but particularly oily people will find that their finger oils are all it takes for things to flake off, hence the suggestion of painting like an adult with a handle and gloves
>>96852024thank you, I will switch primers
>>96852007So would Sliscus, considering the Corsair wave coming out. Malys has been a fan favorite for a long time though.
>>96852058>Malys has been a fan favoriteone fan's favourite, you mean
>>96852053I won't make a difference if you're filthy enough to have that happen to something as new as malstrains. Consider washing your hands or bathing instead and see if that makes a difference
>>96852081JBR is obsessed with Aestra Khromys of the Obsidian Rose, not Malys. She just does occasional art of other named characters too.
>>96852058she'd be a fine addition in concept but the sculpt is just so bland and basic. Like, dark eldar are twisted kinky people, put her in a gymnast's pose that exposes her butthole or something.
>>96852058>Malys has been a fan favorite
>>96852058Nobody knows about or cares about any of these gay elf characters. They're all interchangeable and it does not change anything to have one participate in the narrative over another one

>>96851957I’ve been chipping away at my Sisters lately
>>96852207Actually they do, it gets rid of finger oils, mould release and dust before priming. Every high end painter at least rinses their shit before prime, but they've likely already scrubbed it on the sprue, and are an adult so they painted using a handle and gloves, so they don't see the same oil buildup that your average gamer outputs
>>96852234Nope, keep larping though this is entertaining
>>96852232Whatever you used to apply your blue tone to the flat panels on your tank I would suggest finding an alternative way

What the actual fuck is this bullshit? All those chaos cultist models with stubguns, autorifles and 50 cals and they couldn't just add them as an 'Up to three' option?
>>96852411I want to know how many posts the average and median poster makes per thread. Sometimes it does feel like it's just 5 guys flinging shit around.
>>96852378could be much improved if she was just 50ft taller.
>>96852363The reason GW doesn't write Eldar/Tau interactions is because logically 95% of their meetings would be diplomatic meetings over minor border disputes and trade deals.Eldar avoid conflicts where they can and Tau are open to talk things over rather than shooting on sight. The two don't have much reason to fight beyond whatever localized plot shenanigans someone makes up for a narrative.
I asked that yesterday but i just want to be sure so anons if U can please help me?So I started collecting dwarfs as my first tabletop army and atm im sitting at:10x Hearthkyn Warriors10x Einhyr Hearthguard3x Hernkyn Pioneers1x Kâhlwould you considder getting VOtann army box (the one with codex) and christmass box a good boxes to get for my first army?
>>96852413Aren't there roughly 300 Tau worlds now? They had 100 worlds after the 2nd Sphere Expansion, then they had about 250 worlds after the 3rd sphere expansion.4thh Sphere doesn't have a specific number but still mentions several worlds taken so...I dunno, let's say 10? It was overall a failure so only 10 seems fair.5th Sphere is still ongoing but has been much more successful and established several warzones where they're expanding so given how successful the 3rd sphere was saying 40 or so planets captured seems fair here.

>>96852557>outright killed the Ynnari and ended Yvraine as a character. To add to this, the Ynnari were also the central plotline that every Eldar plot was packaged into. I mean, FFS, Vraks was a complete fucking failure. Their insistence on a long, grueling, WW1 style siege instead of just a tactical quick insert meant that by the time they actually took the city, all of the munitions they had fought to re-acquire were gone, and the landscape had turned into such a death-ridden bog that the person responsible got turned into a fucking Nurgle daemon prince instead of being executed. The Death Korp's legacy is one of repeated failure. They basically never win in any of their conflicts. They're chronic losers.

>>96852546As a Tau fan, probably the Damocles Crusade. Not the Crusade itself, that was fine. But rather, the fact that they retreated when the Tyranids invaded. Even though the Crusade was a complete failure on every front, and they failed to take the first major world they encountered, with every indication being that they were going to be trapped and their forces destroyed entirely as new Tau reinforcements poured in, there are STILL people who think the Tau only survived because they got 'saved' by the Tyranids arriving.Case in point:>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R66Rqe_hrII'm fine with the Tau losing sometimes, but I've never seen anyone celebrate their losses as if they were victories the way you see some of the more delusional Imperiumfags celebrate theirs.

What's the benefit of assault terminators over regular ones? +1 wound w/ shields. It used to be that assault had a 4++ while regular had a 5++ but that's no longer the case. You can give regular ones chainfists for dealing with vehicles.I can see how dev wounds from thunder hammers are good but they're slow, you might drop in or unload from an LRC, get a good charge off but after that they're kinda stuck. At least regular terminators can shoot things, somewhat. I'm not disputing that they're cool but I don't know if they're really worth their cost.I play BT if that helps clarify things. Most of them time, our one melee vow isn't going to do anything for them unless you only go after T8+ targets, and unless you're playing against knights or oops all tanks guard armies I don't see many good targets for them, at least to justify their cost.
>>96852789>that retort sounded way better in the artists headHonestly "Being retarded is actually based and redpilled" pretty much sounds like the average Imperium conversation in a nutshell.

In fact it's hilarious because the Imperium keeps trying to do just that and it never works. They did it on Taros too and it just resulted in the Tau fighting even harder. The ethereals aren't the thing that keep the Tau encouraged to fight. They're just the thing that keeps the Tau fighting in a civilized manner. Killing the ethereals doesn't stop them from fighting, it just makes them bring out the warcrimes.
>>96852935>The Tau have mass cloningSo does the Imperium. Hardly a relevant point, I bet Krieg clones regiments have a higher population than the half of the Tau Empire during the Democles meme crusade.>Killing ethereals doesn't particularly harm the TauThey even had rules for this. >>96852789I thought it was fineIt's just a bit MCU tier
>>96853013>So does the Imperium.Yes, but the Imperium doesn't have the quality to make up for it. The Tau fucking farm Imperial Guard regiments for XP for fucks sakes, in one conflict on a single Tau planet you have an ongoing war where millions of Imperial Guard have died. Not Guardsmen, but entire regiments, the number of fallen is in the hundreds of billions. If the Imperium wants to overcome the Tau, it's going to need to pull out a lot of Space Marines, and it sure as fuck can't afford to do that when they only have 1 per planet.>They even had rules for this.Yes but because of the length of a game the rules don't take into account the other part of the lore. If you kill an Ethereal, you get a momentary shock that might win you that particular engagement, but for the rest of the campaign you've just made the Tau fight so much more ferociously than they were before.
>>96853028>The LZ they cleared of the Tau, pushing them back, and giving the Imperials the relief they needed to evacuate? You mean the LZ the Tau evacuated after striking up a deal with the Imperials to let them retreat where they casually escorted them off of their territory while taking back the rest of the planets and then some with no resistance?

>>96853133It means that you can throw hundreds of billions of Guardsmen at the Tau if you want to, but you're going to need a significant force of Space Marines to make serious progress. They try to headcanon the Imperium into being this rational victorious force that's winning on all fronts, so in their minds if the Imperium ever loses it's because the other side just had plot armor. These people rarely if ever actually read their own lore and usually just go based on 'vibes' (though they'll ignore any 'bad vibes' such as Guilliman saying they're fucked).

In case anyone is wondering, it is likely that the 40k reveals on this thing are not going to be heavy. As predicted by Valrak (beloved by all), it's likely to be the last 'narrative campaign' of 10th edition. It will include things like a new Haron Blackheart and Trazyn model.

The Tau will be the final nail in the coffin for the Imperium. They won't be much of a threat today. They won't be the highest priority threat in 1,000 years even. But, IF the Imperium survives Chaos, and the Tyranids, and the Necrons, and the Ork Waaghs, by the time they've finally finish dealing with all that, they'll have spent so much time distracted, 10,000 years of it likely, that the blueberries will have grown to have half of the galaxy and tech far surpassing what they can make. That is the threat. If the Imperium by some miracle survives everything else (and that's a BIG if) they are there so that they still lose in the end.
>>96853936To be fair, was the Emperor even necessarily right about not being a god? The Ecclesiarchy ended up being founded on Lorgar’s principles and is arguably the only thing keeping the Imperium running at this point.

>>96853980>Maybe my issue is that grinding for a weapon to make a build is not funThey've completely overhauled the crafting system you don't really need to grind for a weapon anymore.Either just pick a weapon and do some missions with it to get the mastery experience which lets you unlock all the blessings, or just buy bunch of grey weapons of the same type from the shop, upgrade all to green and then just sacrifice them at Hadron. You use the same type of weapon because it nets like 5x the XP and you get it over faster.
>>96853969>the empire that is shit at dealing with the warp will replace the imperiumThe Imperium cannot lose unless it blows up like the Eldar did or the rift grows, both of which involve more realspace becoming warpspace... which the tau can't deal with
10th has been a success if only for the fact that we've not seen one clear army running away with all the wins. It's been pretty diverse. I wouldn't mind seeing a troops tax come back into play but overall it's been better than 6th-9th.

Is the Emperor a sort of war god himself?Because, when you think about it, the Emperor, the Imperium, and all of his Primarchs...none of them were good at anything that wasn't related to war in some way. Oh sure, Vulkan could smith a nice warhammer (40,000 of them, even), and Dorn could build a good fortification, but none of them could build an innovative, prosperous civilization. The best they could achieve was smog-ridden little rats nests, little more than a hive for war foundries. They could build a machine of war, but not a civilization, which would indicate that every aspect off the Emperor was, ultimately, aimed to that end.

So I get that the Necrons are essentially to the Imperium what the Imperium is to the Tau, but does that hold true for the Dark Eldar too?
