I'm curious. does there exist a high lethality tactical gun play tabletop that emulates things like the SWAT games?

Y'know. games that enforce slow methodical breaching with high lethality that focuses purely on guns

GURPS is one of the better systems for gunplay in general, while not being too over the top in terms of autistic detail. If you want real autism, then Phoenix Command is bar none the best option for what you want, but you're gonna be limited to the super early 90s in terms of time period.

The answer is always GURPS

Friday Night Firefight was pretty decent for that

How are you supposed to approach splats as a GM?
Let's say I had the core rules and then this. I'm never sure how to approach learning these.
>>
>>96853942
What?
You have the Core and a Splat. You use them both. Splats add options and rules to what you're already using from Core.
You just asked some real "How do I pet the dog?" ass question bro.

Nah, lick it out for me and you might accidentally get your first taste of pussy in the process.

Check out Black Powder Red Earth, BLKOUT, or the R6 Siege board game.

Have you never read a rulebook? Do you not know what a splat is? A splat is a supplement, it's rules (and materials) you add on top of the core books.

It's not a dumb question when the system is GURPS. SWAT is, namely, for 3e and you don't want to play 3e. You want the 4e Basic Set, High-Tech and Tactical Shooting. SWAT can be used as inspiration - I think it has some relevant rules stuff too - but you may have to convert some of it pretty heavily. You don't have to use every single rule from TS especially, because nobody can fucking remember them, just compile the ones you want

Aren't those skirmish games?

I don't have anything against you personally, anon, that sounds like good advice
but GURPS really is the ttrpg equivalent of compiling your own linux kernel

Depends on how you setup the scenario. It would be quite easy to create some police / homeland counter-terror styled ones. Asym is my goto for anything small scale like that. It's definitely high lethality and tactical, might be what your looking for but I can't say for certain.

I want something similar. All I really need is calibers to have different penetration values against different types of armor (kevlar and different lvl plates) and cover, attachments mattering and rules for being suppressed.

I think you don't need to sim every caliber but something like broad categories would be cool:
light pistol (stuff like .22, .25,.38,9mm)
heavy pistol (.44, .357, .50AE)
light rifle (.233, 5.45x39)
heavy rifle (.308, 7.62x39,30-06)
and a category for anything above that like .50BMG and adjacent. Add hollow points and armor piercing rounds so the guns can penetrate above their rating a little.

oooh what is this?

Twilight 2000 (the real one, not the Swedish cash-grab on the brand) offers the best tactical gunplay ever created. It also has Merc 2000 sub-rules, so it's pretty much SWAT by that point.

The only one that is not mainstream that it comes to mind is
>Sleepers: Orphans of the cold war
>Gameplay is like TTRPGs Xcom
>Lore is /x/ tier, mutant soldiers frozen in the 1960 from MK Ultra, Ahnenerbe, KGB and many more wake up today and have to fight other secret organizazions.
So yeah like mentioned the game in mechanics it has a lot, the game is tought ot make one shots and the gameplay is GM vs Players but at a level that the GM is a secret organization and it level up every session especially if the last session your secret organizaion won you get XP same for the PCs, the leveling is made only as an organization not as a character.
Every firefight is lethal and almost "real" i mean like if you're in cover is hard to hit you or if I can't see you I can't shoot you, this game is a lot of Shoot from covers and flank.

>you don't want to play 3e
3rd ed is fine for realistic normal humans. If all the supplements you want to use are for 3rd, just go with it.
>>
>>96860981
If you want a fairly straightforward game which has supplements dedicated to it, it's more like just installing Ubuntu.
Pick one of:
Third edition Basic Set, 3rd ed High-Tech, SWAT, and Cops.
Fourth edition Basic Set, 4th ed High-Tech, Tactical Shooting.

Former gives more support for the specific genre, but 1990s equipment. Latter is more up-to-date, but lacks most SWAT-specific stuff.

Quick it seems I could use it for a wargame...
Maybe even easily adapt it for my stupid idea of Bunny girls, Maids and Miku.
>>
>>96866927
That's just the core concept of what eventually evolved into Cyberpunk 2020's combat system.
