Anyone doing anything special for their games for Halloween? Giving out candy to players? Wearing costumes? Or something in-game, like a Pumpkinhead monster or sudden werewolf?
I already have my halloween meet up with friends, but a discord server I'm in is doing an event with one shots this whole week so I set up a saturday morning characters enter gorey hell thing.

>>96854858>The ThingHope they brought burninators.
Yeah, my game will have spooky critters like dusanu and savage monkeys.
Spooky, scary and most importantly sexy critters, I hope.
>>96854297I'm very sad because for the first time in 5 years I don't have a group and thus won't be running a Halloween Special game for them. It had become one of my favorite yearly traditions.I hope you guys make the most of it and have a great time. It's a great way to have a little something special at the table each year.
>>96854297In my capacity as GM, I bought some candy and plan to fake a TPK (just for like a second, not some sort of extended sequence).
>>96862762Sorry to hear it, anon. There's a gamefinder thread here >>96840569 so maybe someone there will run a one-shot for Halloween that you can enjoy.
Run a one-shot quick dungeon with horror elements for whatever party you have right now. Just isekai them right into it and see what happens.
>>96854297I wish. For the past couple years I've put on a Halloween-themed Warcry event, and almost every year someone from my RPG group has taken it upon themselves to run a Halloween one-shot of some kind. This year I'm out of the country for Halloween, so no spooky /tg/ stuff for me - though at least I am still hosting my yearly horror movie marathon, albeit remotely.
>>96854297My group's usual Halloween tradition is to head out to the cabin one of the guys built innawoods, do a horror one-shot and spend the rest of the weekend playing appropriately themed board games or tripping. This year (had to schedule it last weekend for various reasons) it was a survival horror one-shot playing the doomed sailors involved in a shipwreck our party had investigated in the main campaign a few sessions ago.
I'm running a game halloween night hopefully and got a couple halloween commissions
>>96873456the other one. Got versions with and without the black eyes, think they turned out pretty cute. I'm running out of generic costumes to use for commissions though.
I was gonna run a horror campaign and play Don't look back by BSS but didn't make the time. Hope everyone had a better month of horror gaming.
>>96854297Ran an Alien(mothership) oneshot with some friends a couple days ago.
>>96873456>>96873463That's hilarious, skeleton approved!

>>96854297For the last few years I've had a Halloween tradition of inviting all the people I've played with prior to participate in linked supernatural themed sessions. Group 1 plays on a Friday, group 2 on a saturday, and group 3 on a Sunday. What the first group does on Friday impacts what the following groups experience, etc. It's a lot of work and turnout has dropped over the years, so I don't feel like it this year.
>>96879121That's still a cool idea, like movie sequels in a way. Good on you for doing that.
>>96854297This year, all i did was throw Gozer at my Power Rangers players after reading Ghosts of Cybertron. (The form of the destructor they chose was Mr Blobby)My best Halloween episodes i did however:>Pathfinder session where the players were kidnapped by the Goddess of Candy who sends them to get candy, transforming them into children and giving them costumes. They have 3 hours to get as much from the town they are dropped in. Along the way, they have to fight cardboard monsters and bullies looking to take their candy. Big rewards handed out based on the amount of Candy they bring her.>Transformers session where the Transformers had to play as their Kid Sidekicks in a haunted mall at night. The kids got chased around and scared by what turned out to be Bot-Bots.>Star Wars Saga game where the gang are sent to investigste a space station where turns out the Rakghoul Plague got loose.>Alien 1-shot game where everyone wakes up in a room with 1 Pulse Rifle and a dead Facehugger on the floor. Nobody knows who it was attached to. Turns out it was an experiment by WY, none of them were infected, they just wanted to see who would kill who in this situation. Turns out that the only team-kill was when the Soldier failed his Stress check when one of them turned out to be a Synth and emptied a mag of Pulse Rifle into the tech in a panic.
>>96882442This is the good shit. >Ghost of CybertronTell us more about this.
I ran a CoC one-shot for the False Hydra. Set it in a dying 1800s American mining town out west.Had a pretty good time fucking with them as they tried to figure out what was going on through some red herrings of Bone Tomahawk style Natives or some crazy old soldiers who snapped and hide out in the mountains. In the end they came to the realization late and the Hydra was pretty fucking terrifying so they blew the mines with dynamite and got the fuck outta there.
