I've been mulling it over and I'm split between either the Krieg battleforce or the Skaven battleforce. I have a ton of IG and the battleforce is better than the combat patrol since it doesn't have the fuckass horses but with the skaven half of vermintide plus the christmas box I have 2k rats to play with.

You should go out, buy 4 flesh toned contrast paints, 4 midtone flesh traditional paints, 2 brown contrasts. Apply the flesh contrasts all over using a random mix every time(cup palettes are great for this. Drybrush your flesh midtone. Then apply your various brown contrasts to the fur. Paint the rest of the owl

hm hm ok. I should have a few midtone fleshes from my canadians, so that's like 30% of the shopping list done. Oh and the palette is covered I got the fidget toy one from army painter. Pissed off the employee asking for it every time I visited my lgs until he threw it at my head. If my math is correct that should be 32 unique skin & fur color combos which will help when I have 100 rats to paint
>>
>>96856312
Don't even try and math out your combos, just mix paint together randomly and see what happens. The flesh tones all mix great together and the browns all work together great. The less thinking you're doing about the easy parts the more you can focus on the tougher parts like the cloth and glowy bits

How would Drukhari deal with Emperor's Children as captives? They can't cause agony since any pain and suffering to try to cause will do the opposite to Emperors Children. They aren't really getting any sustenance then.
>>
>>96856633
They probably can get something out of them after a lot of effort. But, considering that EC are followers of Slaanesh, they probably just kill them all as a safety precaution

dont drukhari have some kind of null effect to cancel out that masochism on them? wouldnt that let them torture them like normal?
>>
>>96856633
they'd put them in some sort of sensory deprivation tank which would be excruciating for any slaanesh follower
>>
>>96856633
Drukhari can feed off of extreme pleasure as well as pain. Pain is normally just easier for them to inflict in excess because most beings can feel a lot more extreme pain than pleasure.
They'll give the Slaanesh marine the time of their lives as they vivisect them without anesthetic to make a new ottoman.

Good, people who get hyped up over those for mediocre discounts absolutely confound me.
Even worse is the scalpers who buy them up to resell at a point where it's flat out RRP, and those who buy from them naturally.

>>
>>96856909
Always Eldar. If they'd just stop being cryptic speak-in-riddles motherfuckers for one damn second soooooo many conflicts could have been circumvented.
>>
>>96856926
What's cryptic about "fuck off or die"?
>>
>>96856926
In this instance they were pretty clear though
>>
>>96856855
How bad are the flight stands?
Dunno if I should bother with pinning mine to some ruins.
>>
>>96856909
Both parties are in the wrong. The eldar for refusing to explain why the world must be left unoccupied and the Tau for refusing to budge from their imperialist dogma. Presumably an accord could be reached where the Tau are allowed to have a colony on the planet so long as they not try to unearth old aeldari relics from the ruins or make contact with the exodites, who literally cannot live under Tau rule and lifestyle or else have their soul consumed or even draw demons into the world.
>>
>>96856930
>>96856931
They didn't claim ownership of it, or give any reason. No "This is our world, we do not appreciate your presence, fuck off or die.", no "this world is cursed, fuck off or die.", no "Hey, that magic sword you have there is fucking evil you should destroy it, fuck off or die".
I mean, the statement that the fighting was in ancient ruins does ather imply it was not presently colonised and actively lived in, so why not claim what's been left by the wayside?
>>
>>96856935
There is no way in hell the tau ever stand for having another people on a world not integrated into their society or leave a potential technological Discovery unexploited. It is literally against their religious dogma. Even explaining to them that there are reclusive people here or hidden weapons and technologies would only make them commit more to trying to take the world.
Eldar were in the right on this one.
>>
>>96856942
Aeldari once lived there. The Asuryani will not allow trespassers to defile the world with their presence.

>>
>>96856955
They did so explicitly because they believed that the humans who were forced back into the Imperial system would rebel and spread Tau sympathy.
>>
>>96856955
Because the Tau expect that the hearts and minds of ignorant humanity will change in time.
The Eldar, long as they live, will never change their hearts or minds.

No. It was an apology for the rough treatment the population suffered at the hands of the Tau (they were manipulated into it by Imperial spies). Also, as a reward for saving the life of an Ethereal.
The human world was allowed to declare independence from the Tau Empire.

So Darktide is getting a new class soon (more news on the 11'th). What do you think it is?
I believe it will be an Adeptus Mechanicus class. Not sure if it's Tech Adept/Priest or Skitarii.

Reasons why I believe this:
-Mechanicus 2
-DoW4 having AdMech as one of the factions
-Rogue Trader's 3'rd DLC having an Augmentics system
-Spess Muhreen 2 is getting a Techmarine class.

I know the admech got some buffs and they're stupid now because their units are priced as if they were still trash but why are sisters at the top again?
And crazy how Riptide getting +1 str on 1 gun or something moved Tau from the bottom of the list to top.
>>
>>96856909
At the end of the day might makes right. If the Imperium or the Eldar want to stop the Tau from being able to colonize their lands, they need to be strong enough to actually stop it from happening.

Undid the nerfs from earlier in the year that gutted them... then they kept a bunch of their compensation buffs. They were balanced almost perfectly at their height of popularity.

That said, they actually have more than one way to play the army now as well! Champions of Faith, Army of Faith and Bringers of Flame are all much better balanced against each other internally. Sisters got treated very well this edition, other than the wierd gutting for no reason that only lasted for 3 months. They have been treated better than space marines have desu and MUCH better than GSC/Admech who are kind of a trinity with sisters for hyper expensive niche army.
>>
>>96857126
I wish it was a battle sister but there is no way it would be
>>
>>96857188
tell that to my parents who put me on my ass at 15 years old. It goes both ways. The parents offer their children nothing, only demands, trauma and emotional manipulation. Often actual rape, violence or theft. The American family unit is utterly destroyed, and there is no good social safety net for the people who lose their families or just dont have them.
>>
>>96857187
So squatters rights is just a meme? You can legally shoot them? America is usually kinda cucked but that's pretty cool.
>>
>>96857188
To be fair, from what I hear about a lot of American Boomer and Genx parents the resentment is rather well earned.
>>
>>96857204
It varies based on state and municipality but in general yes. It’s the castle doctrine-if someone comes into your castle you have the right to expel them with force
>>
>>96857204
Squatters rights only applies if you leave your property empty for a long time. All that shit about squatters in expensive houses happens in mansions that lie empty so they can be rented occaisonally.

Yes, about 15% of Americas real estate is vacant, not because of demand but because 80% of that vacancy is real estate brokers who sit on it as an asset that has value. No laws limit the amount of houses you can just sit on. empty. Its why you see the retarded rents like in NYC or San Diego where a closet is 5000 USD a month.
>>
>>96857175
There is such a thing as squatter’s rights, you can’t just abandon a piece of property for 20,000 years and expect nobody else will use it for anything else. And since the Eldar are dying, they’re definitely not gonna be returning anytime ever to use it.

That was for the original plan, when classes were more like the careers in Vermintide 2. It took a looong while for Fatshark to put out the fires from the bungled launch and implement much needed subsystems. I'm told this happened with VT2 as well (And I'm betting it will happen with the next Fatshark game as well)

I only started playing after patch 13. I missed out on the worst suffering based what I've heard from friends. A lot of people think Patch 15 - Unlocked and Loaded was the point where Darktide was actually finished.

Why the fuck do Imperial ships have so few guns despite being so long?

Does GW not understand that Star Wars ships manage way more on smaller platforms, as do Tau ships, or do they just not care how impotent this makes their setting?

Interesting, would you mind providing sauce? Some have speculated on a Bounty Hunter or Ganger class due to the "Broker" codename from a datamine which also had the Arbitrator's "Adamant".

I've seen this image floating around, which could point towards something AdMech being the next class.

Shouldn’t be losing the war, this ain’t Peacehammer
>>
>>96857228
Well, agree to disagree. I think the game is in a great state. It has the most satisfying gameplay loop of anything I have ever played. Dodge, Staggers, Stamina Management, balancing offense and defense, whipping out your ranged options for the specials... yea it just hits different. It hits good.

The only thing that we should have that we don't, imo, is private single player lobbies. And desu a mod adds them (and you can have as many bots as you want and using all your gear/cosmetics) so its really no big loss.
>>
>>96857225
So it can house fewer but larger weapons?
A nova cannon round is like 50 meters across, is fired at close to the speed of light, has a range of two light-minutes and I'm sure many captains would prefer that to 400 peashooters that could fit in it's place.

They sit and do nothing with the maiden worlds, and when a (relative to 40k) benevolent faction comes along to live there they spazz out and say they’ll murder them if they don’t leave. >>96857790
The point of using paint on varnish instead of using a spray is to apply varnish to appropriate surfaces to enhance the look. Gemstones or most metallic surfaces would be enhanced with a gloss varnish, while bones or most cloth surfaces would appreciate matte more. A spray would give a unified look more quickly, but if they’re your main dude/just decorative models, then specific application of varnish could be worth the time.

I know you’re not supposed to think about the math, but it really bothers me how few space marines there are. There should be at least 100 billion marines for the lore to make sense.

Like, put it this way, there’s probably at least 10 billion battlesuits, given the ratios of them with the fire-warriors as a whole and the total number of the Tau, but we know that the Imperium can still crush the Tau if it ever put serious effort into doing so, so logically the Imperium would have to have a military force capable of doing so which would necessitate that there are many more billions of marines than there are battlesuits, so there should be 100 billion marines or more, but realistically there should be trillions of space marines.

>inb4 don’t think about math
I’m allowed to let it bother me, they need an accountant to go through their lore and make this shit make sense numbers wise
>>
>>96857881
It was too good so everyone can deal with it now. Infantry spam is the viable Guard list now.
>>
>>96857881

>>96857910
The Astra Militarum numbers in the trillions and takes care of most engagements of the imperium. Space Marines are sent to where the fighting is worst.

pic at 799 is the quintessential picture of what Tyranids are and should be, if you ask me. Earlier editions were still trying to figure them out as a faction, later editions started running away with it a bit too much, after 4th.

This image is what all tyranid designs should be trying to fit into. I want a proper "vehicle" morph that looks like that thing in the background, instead of the Tervigon and its weird preggo shit. Basically a giant tyranid armored caterpillar that becomes "infested" with gaunts as it crawls along the battlefield.

Or maybe it could be some kind of mobile bioprocessor, a biomass plant that acts as a transitional source of nutrition for ground forces while the capillary towers are still growing.

There are roughly 54 quadrillions humans in the Imperium across all known hiveworlds. 1 quadrillion on Terra alone (somehow).
I dunno what battlefield would need TRILLIONS of guardsmen on ONE planet. That's a little nuts even for the human wave tactics of the imperium. Like a single trillion is beyond comprehension many many times over, a thousand billion is insane. Having two thousand billion or more is even more insane. Armageddon and Cadia definitely could’ve used trillions of soldiers.

>>
>>96858162
I mean this is the same setting that had the Badab war be remembered hugely costly and bloody war that killed like 17 million soliders total and less than 5,000 space marines across like 12 chapters. But was big enough that 2 first founding chapters got involved as did the Grey Knights

>The galaxy contains some four hundred thousand million stars of various types. Of these only a fraction are presumed to have habitable planetary systems, and only a fraction of these have been investigated. Most are situated within the spiral arms between ten and forty thousand light years from the galactic center.
>The very size of the galaxy means that, despite the use of faster than light warp drives, most of it remains unknown. Even the human controlled lmperium. by far the largest and most widely distributed of all stellar empires, contains only a tiny fraction of the galaxy‘s stars. New worlds are constantly being discovered and investigated, along. with their attendant civilizations, creatures and resources. Even so. there is no possibility of either humans or aliens exhausting the galaxy's potential to provide new worlds for habitation and exploitation.
Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader (1987)

>As powerful as it is. the lmperium does not rule the entire galaxy. Mankind's worlds are spread thin across the 200.000.000.000 stars that make up the galaxy. withim the lmperium's vague borders are rebellious enclaves of human worlds. domains ruled over by alien war leaders. colonies of creatures too aloof or basic to disturb mankind or draw the attention of the war fleets. The lmperium is engulfed in a constant state of war. Sometimes simply continuing its wars of expansion, other times fighting against foes who threaten the survival of the entire human race.
Warhammer 40,000 3rd edition rulebook (1998)

The numbers you see are intentionally small to make the galaxy a dark and scary place, the writers knew exactly what they were doing even if these exact quotes are about the number of planets owned by the Imperium specifically, not troop numbers.

Serious answer: Primarch Bowl
It's all but confirmed the majority of the remaining primarchs are returning. New fans seem to absolutely latch onto the primarchs, complete casuals who've never touched a model in their life can tell you half of all the primarchs' life stories. And GW is clearly aware of the cash cow they have, as they immediately announced the Scouring after the Heresy was completed so they could pump out more primarch content

Personally not the biggest fan, but eh.

to some extent yeah, but what you have to remember is when we would go back to a warzone in the past people would see it as a retcon because they couldn't accept that time was passing in universe.

Now in 11th we will see the 4th war for armageddon, expect the fallout from octarius, and more emphasis on naval battles as GW gets ready to relaunch battlefleet gothic (renamed to battlefleet indomitus)
