Why is it that every nu40k Primaris Ultima Founding Chapter is like off-purple or mint blue or some other tertiary colour and has a name like "The Emperor's Krakens" or "Voidguard"What happened?
The fans grew up and got jobs at GW, and then their kids did the same. In all seriousness though, the game you liked hasn't existed for years, and the people who made it have all moved on to other things. Endless complaining about meaningless change in the era of churn and burn consumerism is tired. Let go.

>>96885935>"The Emperor's Krakens" or "Voidguard"Because that's how they've been named since the earliest days of 40k. Primaris arrived in 2017 and void is a new trend word after that but neither X guard nor Emperor's X nor X of the Emperor are in any way new.Emperor's Swords, Emperor's Wrath, Emperor's Wolves, 2007Emperor's Shadows, 2004Scythes of the Emperor, 1990, I don't know when the Emperor's Scythes were made up, maybe 9th editionEmperor's Children, 1988Celestial Guard, 2008Crimson Guard, 2004Black Guard, 1995Raven Guard, 1987
>>96885935Copyrighting and marketing. If GW names it's products it can copyright them and stop others selling similar products with the same name. Primaris not space marine, Astra militarum not Imperial Guard, Age of Sigmar Urucks not derivative generic old world races, etc.>>96886567Word. What gets me is how GW fans treat lore as if it is a set historical document that has been misread or misunderstood by the current IP owners. ALL THE LORE IS AN ADVERT DESIGNED TO SELL THE CURRENT PRODUCTS. It isnt real, it isnt consistant and will continue to change over time as GW treis to push new toys.
>>96885935>White Panthers
>>96889672Yeah it's deliberate
>>96887754Holy based! Destroyed with facts and logic. Faggot OP in shambles./thread
>>96889941It gets better when you consider that of those, Emperor's Children are purple and Emperor's Shadows are accented in minty blue.Didn't have time before but the editions below are when I know they are around, some might be earlier.Minty blueMarines Errant, 1st edPraetors of Orpheus, Avenging Sons, Sons of Guilliman 3rd edSky Sentinels, 5th edPurpleSoul Drinkers, 1st edInvictor, 3rd edTo be fair to OP, there do exist things like Necropolis Hawks, a primaris chapter, teal/minty blue and a name stupid enough to be the protagonist in a multiple Razzie award winning 80s flick
>>96886567>The Tiger's Cage>The Winner>they forgot to put their nameThis mystery is going to irrationally upset me.
>>96885935the original Chapters given in the very first list in the RT book in 1987 were>Blood Angels>Blooddrinkers>Crimson Fists>Dark Angels>Flesheaters>Fleshtearers>Iron Hands>Rainbow Warriors>Silver Skulls>Spacewolves>Ultramarines this would become Ultra Marines before returning to being Ultramarines>Whitescarsyou're lucky none of them are called the Shitlords or Dogboner's Madlads or The Hate Generation or Bolt Throwersit has always been like this>>96887754>Scythes of the EmperorAdvanced Space Crusade, 1990; there's a little story about them on p16 of the rulebook, and a banner on p42>>96885935look OP it's like thisby 1990 the Golden Demon subs for space marines were all trying to produce their own Chaptersthe Lamenters were in GD in 1990 (one of the diorama winners), everybody wanted to paint their Dark Angels as Deathwing (which is why the lore makes the Deathwing part of a secret society of the officers), and then you've got shit like this guy winning prizesdon't fucking start
>>96886567>Space Birds, We Fight for the Emperor >Dark Infernors, Our Flame Will Never Be Extinguished Kids are based.
>>96895106GO BIRDS! GOOOO BIIIIIIIIIIRDS!
>>96894980>>>Scythes of the Emperor>Advanced Space Crusade, 1990I wonder if 1990 and ASC is exactly what I was referring to when I wrote >>Scythes of the Emperor, 1990>p16 of the rulebook, and a banner on p42Also pages 29, 39, 48, and 54. Don't forget the full colour illustrations of the bottom box wall. I don't know about the idoneum bello picture.
>>96890346You don't need to be fair to OP. He's an idiot. To be fair to Necropolis Hawks however while the name maybe shit the dark teal looks good. As do the white helmets and arms. Darren *was* cooking.
>>96895240I don't know anon I tend not to read every word on the internet before responding
>>96885935>purple or mintThose are the less used colours in marine chapters, so they make new ones with them, absolutely logic.
>>96886567Didn't the Blood Ravens start out as one of these in White Dwarf?
>>96894785They are The Winner chapter, anon. They have tiger blood and they are always winning.
>>96897727I headcanoned that they were a chapter of uncertain founding that further founded the rest of the Tiger's Cage before going extinct. In any case, I looked up the article in case it was mentioned elsewhere. It wasn't, but there's two more pages of drawin's and I think they're cool.

>>96898181>>96898175I can actually feel my soul healing looking at these blessed relics. Amazing. They're so bad. But they're so honest.
>>96898181>>96898175All canon to me
>>96886567>>96898175>>96898181im glad that both incredible edginess and garish, deviantart color schemes go back all the way. some things never change
>>96885935Because the primary colors are largely taken? Blue is ultramarines (or crimson fists), yellow is fists, black is templars, white is scars, green is salamanders, red is blood angels. Purple is one of the few colors without a strong association to an existing faction (same for khaki/organge).
>>96898175Tempest warriors are fucking awesome.
>>96886567>the tiger's cageso fucking coolcould also be a sweet name for an initiation trial to become a fully inducted brotherbesting some stone age megafauna while naked, its deadly claws raking your flesh, earning you your "stripes"maybe they're a white scars successor?
>>96886567Space birds is a decent scheme
>>96899325You are a newfriend and your leaning towards First Founding chapters, like GW has in recent years, shows it.Plenty of room for red or green or yellow or whatever chapter without them needing a Codex Supple
>>96900304The first foundings are the main chapters, they are the ones most people know and the ones with the most iconic color schemes. This has always been the case, there has never been a time when the aurora chapter or whatever were as recognizable as the ultramarines. You obviously CAN paint your marines blue and gold, but most people dont want to have their OCs mistaken for an existing thing. Its the same reason you wont find too many names like "the star wolves" or "the crimson hands" as chapter names. People (generally, and only to some extent) aspire for originality. >without them needing a codex supplementI thought we were talking about color schemes? Frankly all codex supplements are gay and retarded and there should only be a single space marine codex that covers all space marines (even grey knights). Same for chaos marines, they should all be only one book.
