I have been very frustrated lately. Ever since writing Departing and Homecoming I have been frustrated due to the changes I had to make. I see others making these grandiose writefags, and I have no delusion, something on the level of Love and the Russian Winter or Kaoru anon's piece are beyond me, but my attempt at one of these felt thwarted by circumstances outside of my control. I feel so disappointed on myself and envious towards the other effortfags. I wanted to surf on that high and have that big development moment for my character, but I lost so much steam after Sayaka's update that the last stretch became a mess, and I know I failed to reach the standard I set in my heart, and it makes it so much more frustrating because while I have the drive, I don't know on how to replicate the high I was feeling when I started it, or with what purpose in mind.I tried to jump into the Death Mark plot and make a nice tie-in and boss, but I failed to do that in my own writefag, and now I don't know what major plotpoint it would make sense to put Itsuki in, besides the lost opportunity for his heel-turn towards the light and character progress.Sorry for the rant.

Alien giving the benefit after the update did feel a bit off, when compared to other drawbacks.Although, I feel like it not giving anything besides the ability to access Awakening of another origin does feel a bit underwhelming too. I’ve been thinking about the Shu discourse from a few days ago and I want to do something about it (for the record, my personal thoughts are as follows: Shu is a really cool character, I love him, but I think there’s potential to explore his flaws). I don’t know if Shuanon is gonna see this, but as I write The Riddle Part 2 I have a particular idea and I need some pointers.I need one member of the Student Council to become temporarily injured (something that can be easily resolved in another writefag) as a consequence of Kagayaki becoming too strong, because Shu insisted on waiting for Scarlet Senshi to reveal herself to the Student Council. This would be a way for Shu to realise that he trusts fate a little too much, and even if he’ll be lucky, others around him may not be. And then maybe the big decision to get onto her route involves disagreeing with her on something big and temporarily tanking her affinity. Tokimemo 3 does have an actual route system, but that game sucks ass so it’s better if we don’t talk about it.If we want to go with a generic visual novel, Kaoru would be a big tsundere and she’d be hard to get with unless you go for the most level-headed dialogue options almost every time. If you’re too much of a doormat, she won’t like you, but if you can show a level of calm, she will, but she’ll still be a big tsun about it. Takaishi is currently in this route.I imagine the game would be about you creating an OC and choosing a faction to join, and then maybe you could choose a romantic interest in that group, but we can do whatever you guys want for this hypothetical

Options that lower his affection score towards you make you drop out of the route, while options that raise his affection will end up in several bad endings, depending on which point of his early route you are at.After enough neutral options, you get to what amounts to the Granny Fight, which locks you into his route for real.Most of the route would not focus on fights, however, but more on his relationship with the PC, and him getting lovey-dovey and other events, such as taking the heroine to the park, Kageoka Center, Twilight Plaza, etc, with a few big, but bombastic fights as you get closer to him and he vows to protect you. Again, treating him as a human being is optional. To get his good ending, you would need to help him heal and give him answers; again, treating him as a human being is optional. It is basically him turning around like his father and being a decent enough guy, totally healed from his traumas.Neutral Ending would be more like the one above, but Itsuki is more on the poorer/average lifestyle and income guy rather than being loaded like his father. You get his Affection level to a good enough level, but it does not heal his traumas.Neutral Ending is where he takes off to do his own shit (Become Batman) and live like a vigilante with a double life, but never forgetting his relationship and time with the heroine. You don't get his affection level high enough, nor heal his traumas.In the Third Neutral Ending, he ends up as a normal guy, but ends up drifting apart from the heroine. You helped heal his traumas, but didn't get the affection level high enough.

In the endings he gets with the heroine, the heroine may be more dominant/girlboss to him, or sweeter and more gentle. It basically boils down to whether you are Sumi playing the game, or a girl who likes things a little sweeter.
