I'm using goblins in my game, inspired by Goblin Slayer, but I kind of want to make the threat of them more immediate to my players.So goblins still need to capture human women to reproduce, but they also need to capture human men. Both the men and the women need to be tortured before they're 'ripe,' with a focus on physical abuse of the parts the goblins plan to use to reproduce. Once they're ready, the goblins cut enough away from the male anatomy to use for their ritual. About a teaspoon's worth of whatever's left of his generative organs is usually enough to guarantee a single goblin pup. Obviously, the more of his parts they use, the more goblin pups they can get from the woman, up to a maximum based on physical limits.I don't plan to explain any of my players up front, just let them slowly discover it through victims and remains and whatever they witness as they're working their way through a goblin warren. I'm going for a horror vibe, I wish I'd gotten to use this last month.
Personally, I think it'd be cooler if they reproduced like parasitic wasps and just implanted goblin larvae inside the bodies of men and women alike to eat them alive from the inside out.
