What happened to that original road trip horror idea that an anon came up with weeks ago?All I recalled from the thread was:>Giant ominous highway that never seems to end>encountering wild monsters, cryptids, towns, etc >somehow go to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, etc.>Ghost Car, anomalous cars and drivers, the running man>Reasons why the players would stay would be because of being obsessed journalists getting big payCan we continue the idea?
>>96896825Gee, if only you could use 4plebs or any other archive, find that thread and read it, instead of making this thread...And then bump the idiocy of it for the next 3-5 weeks, ofc
>>96897094Got your janny application rejected
>>96897428>He thinks janny applications are realHoly newfag
>>96896825>Use BRP or preferred generic system>Write an adventureWhat's left for anyone to do for you, you fucking hatchling?
>>96896825>*some stock image or first result in google*>"What if my setting revolved around this premise that I refuse to expand on? What if you guys brainstorm for me? What if I continue making these questions?">thread ends with disjointed ideas, nothing gained, nothing made, OP MIADead internet? Content farmers? Actual morons?
>>96896825Who cares? You're never going to use it in a game. You won't reply to this or any post in the thread and you're not a real person.
God forbid we have a discussion about traditional games on this board.
>>96898650Are you discussing anything at fucking all yourself?Or bitching when people call you out for your aimless thread about nothing in particular?
>>96897745The roadtrip idea was coherent enough to make me think that OP was actually thinking about it as an actual campaign idea, but he only had the rough outline, and wasn't sure if he could develop it from there. Talking to /tg/ about how to expand on and get the most out of ideas didn't used to be so rare, but it is now. Mostly because people get drowned out between the dozens of "tell me about the last sandwich your character ate" kind of threads, which are legitimately about nothing and very much exist to spoof activity and make this place look less dead.
>>96898650You can start discussing traditional games at any time but you have yet to actually do so.
>>96898764>>96896825Feels like a great excuse to do fully-episodic games, where you can fill seats with 'hitch-hikers' and do monsters of the week, small towns, wasteland expanses, camping, scarcity problems.I actually started watching Supernatural recently, and it's shit, but it might be good as a model.
>>96899009Consult Small Towns, the tail end of the period when /tg/ was still making games.I can repost it in about 2-3 hours, when I will get home
>>96898764It also doesn't help that every halfway decent thread gets drowned out by the same dickheads that are shitting up this one.
>>96899009I think Monster of the Week is maybe the ideal system to use for something like this.
>>96898764It really shouldn't be difficult to describe the last meal your character ate in your game, if you actually have one.
>>96897673>>96897745Gee I just wanted to see more of this with people hanging out on here, assholes.>>96898764See your onto something. I’m not even the OP like last time with this, I just liked the thread premise and see what you’ll could do.>>96899009Oh also a fellow supernatural hater, welcome. You watched the one with the wishing coin?>>96899104I’ll be waiting
Im gonna be frank. This sounds like more of the same lame liminal space/back room/empty hl2 level creepy stuff the kids think is cool.
>>96903016You think...You must be dead inside. You need to make the outside dead too.
>>96903016So? Remove the faggy SCP monsters and those things are cool.
>>969030164channers only decided it sucked because the kids liked it more and anons fucking hate popular things. It's not like it wasn't invented here lol
Honestly, if I wasn't so busy with school and work and my own RPG, I would absolutely develop it.
>>96903016>>96903348>>96903393>>96903404True scp haters, I get it.Also alright, what would you guys come up with? I mean this could still work but we need to rework it?
>>96903404Popular things are bad and should be hated.
>>96902996faggot
>>96902996>Gee I just wanted to see more of this with people hanging out on here, assholes. You could start by contributing something yourself, instead you made this thread expecting others to do so for your entertainment and now you're pissy that they're not.
>>96904534Every weird place has an exit. There's no jumpscare monsters that run really fast and scream at you. The Long Road is governed by a certain sort of dream logic, though someone may not understand it at first. There are maybe a few old travelers who have passed through some parts of the Road, but there's no organization or agency or business that is attempting to monetize the weird road trip zone.
>>96903016>can't just enjoy something because it reminds him of stupid internet memes living rent free in his head Sad.
>>96905766Sad that you have shit taste, yes.
weren't anons working on something like this about 'the gas station': middle-of-nowhere petrol station where weird shit happens? Unknown Armies kinda thing?
>>96896825I piss in the gas tank and set the car on fire
>>96906520It was called Night Shift and that was 10 years ago.
>>96907353Then if it's like most projects on this board, it should just barely be reaching the preliminary planning stage.
>>96907500are you a retarded faggot? it's finished.
>>96896825no waaaay what if the spooky dooky empty road made you cum through your pants? aaaaargh galagalagalagala niggerundayo smokey
>>96907664lol cope
>>96902996>SupernaturalI stumbled across an open directory, took the first three eps, and it was down before I decided I was willing to suffer through more of it.I've not even watched the third episode, to be honest, but the framing conceit seemed workable, and MotW shows like that, Buffy, X-Files, Fringe etc. are decent Delta Green fodder.>>96906520>>96907353>>96905195Night Shift was happening before I was into that sort of UA/DG stuff, it just seemed like a lot of "wouldn't it be fun if weird stuff happened?"I think this 'Long Road' idea is a lot more gameable, you can do different social feelings and biomes and shit, and you don't have the classic dungeon design problem of "why don;t the orcs in room 4 just kill the bears in room 6?">>96907664Finished as in completed as a system of scenario book? Or as in dead and abandoned?
>>96905109Hmm is it because they’re assholes and I just want to talk about something that might’ve been forgotten forever? Hmmmmm?>>96905195>>96908469This is very good, Delta Green and Supernatural as ideas for it for the foundation and basis.Long Road btw, I like the name. But Long Roaders? And the night shift, is it Stephen King we’re talking for that or? Cause I also love the dream logic and could work on surrealism somehow crashing with realism for a solid story.Maybe have this be a Mouth of Madness with Azathoth being responsible, tie it in with the delta green roots?
Sounds like a great idea!
>>96911518So you aren't going to contribute anything?
>>96906520>hurry up anon we have to get there before the sun gets below the horizon. faster! faster!>gas stations are always deserted except for other road trippers>lights at the gas station flicker on as dusk approaches>supernatural horrors lurk in the dark outside those little islands of light in the darknesssounds pretty comfy desu, maybe would work well with CoC or something
