I cannot, in all honesty, blame Arioch for using them, because I am one of those who bitched endlessly and publicly about Outsider's glacial update rate. I encouraged him to stop spending so much time 3D-modelling the backgrounds (and really, that shuttle was ridiculous - he took a two-year hiatus to build it to the last vertex then the cast spend more than half of Chapter Two in a completely featureless storage closet where all that detail was completely superfluous and wasted effort) and look at more efficient methods at cranking out pages. If Arioch is doing it via AI then he's only doing what we told him to do and we have to take some of the responsibility there.That said, the AI still looks like ass... and it hasn't actually sped up the update rate in the slightest, has it?

>>96909261I've gotta say this even if I like the comic: it's not that hard to make a 3D background. At all. Spaceship interiors are simple blocks, it's not something you have to meticulously sculpt by hand, and even then it doesn't take that long.
