>>96929836I just keep thinking about how termies didn't use fists in 2.0 (hammers rolled twice the dice), and don't use fists in 3.0 (hammers are faster and still strong enough).I wasn't here in 1.0, so I don't know how it was. But I do know Hammers were fists with Concussive, and that only worked against big stuff because Concussive was "survivor fights at i1 now", which Unwieldy wearers didn't care about.I want to view Hammers like Chain fist Special Weapons: as an upgrade against specific targets, but not really against infantry
>>96930142Fists are the better generalist choice and will outperform hammers if your opponent is taking any number of vehicles beyond 1
>>96930142>hammers are faster and still strong enoughJust wait until people start running into more saturnine command squads lol
>>96930155>>96930173Hammers being weaker than fists is also wild, considering they used to Autowound in Paleozoic editions>If it hits, don't roll to wound. It is assumed the hammer will harm anything it gets into contact with

Reminder that Angron cried and begged, like a little bitch, as Sanguinus beat his ass.
Want some dreadwing TerminatorsShould I get Saturine w/ Plasma Cannons or Tartaros with Plasma Blasters
I want to make a counts-as Ka'banda that's a marine with a skull face vomiting skulls and blood into a monstrous giant. What Legion should the marine be? I l already have AL with WB and TS allies.

>>96930316Naufragia have been retconned to Saturnine, so that.
>>96930450Saturnine is very Dreadwing coded to be fair
>>96930464I just want legion-specific units to have the same thing where the sergeant can take the teleporter thingy, just like with the WB unit.

>>96930464>>96930523>Vulkan gives Lion the Saturnine schematics>Lion has to pretend he doesn't have 3000 Saturnines with double phosphex cannons and 3 particles shredders each
I still think it's funny that the Night Lords basically got the Temu version of Saturnine because they ordered from an unsanctioned forge.
I like the Iron Warriors, and I hope that if the rumors are true I'll be able to use some of the bits for my first HH army.
>>96930605I'm hopeful they get cog trim and chainmail, I'm worried they're be oversized and have shartmaris elements like the EC
>>96930450Ok sweet, was leaning towards that anyway so I don't have to buy another landraider.>>96930414I'm in HK so I can get resin bits from China very easily
>>96930565The DA actually did over a year of purity tests on the saturnine suits and designs Vulkan send them, before starting to make use of it.Meanwhile they were actively using their old stock of saturnine against traitors.
Quick question, did any of the newly introduced tech actually survive the Heresy?
>>96930675Barely. Most only survived as rare relics that could no longer be reproduced, and barely kept operational. Heck, a lot of old tech didn't really survive the HH either; land raider and rhino production used to be high enough to also equip non-astartes troops with them for example.
>>96930675Do you mean the Saturnine stuff specifically?Plasma bombards look like a number of AdMech weapons
>>96930675Not really, but there's always room for a sexy little excuse. I'm giving my Minotaurs some sweet new toys to fiddle around with, courtesy of the High Lords.

>>96930578Honestly unsanctioned they might have been but Ulan Huda was built different. They turned their unheard-of forge world into a combat-capable Unicron, swarmed the Dark Angels so hard on landing that they were incapable of doing any meaningful damage and their lead Magos was this fucked up centipede demon looking lady that gave the Lion and his personal guard a damn good fight before scuttling away to safety even after being cut in half, leaving a bunch of dead terminators behind her.Even after the White Scars suicide bombed the planet with a couple of thousand legionnaires to save the day they just fucked off back into the warp, honestly a better peformance than any of the actual Night Lords managed during that book.

>>96930962I like these for sons of horus
Haven't played 3rd yet, because it killed most of the local interest, but I was looking at wha little remains from the Sisters of Silence rules. Krole can get an insane focus bonus, but how good is that actually? It looks like it's just +1a and strike first if you win, which is in theory good. Praetor's have a 9CL, so she's at like +12 to her Focus roll. 5 initiative +1 light +2 duelist edge +3 Abyss Strike (12CL vs 9CL)+1 Fear (really -1 CL)
>>96931128Gray + red gloves SoH are kino but I'm not sure how you would justify them on the tabletop besides "fuck you I like it"Traitor Blackshields?
>>96931446Radiation stripped the green paint
>>96930962are the HH armor marks even compatible with eachother?
>>96930005Realized this might be better to ask here, does anyone know what weapon Ferrus Manus used before Forgebreaker?
>>96931446Different Company. If Alpha Legion can sometimes have black and silver and Dark Angels can have their Deathwing scheme, you can probably justify it.
>>96931440Krole is a really good duelist, almost certainly the best you can do for anything near her price point, but not really because of the gambit. Her base focus of 8+roll from Init + Duelist's Edge + Light is already high enough to beat almost every peer character and most Primarchs in speed without buffing it further, which means you can use that focus lead to grab Finishing Blow and hang onto it. That fixes your low strength issue, taking you up to S6 D3, critting for D4, and prevents a normal paragon blade or thunder hammer being able to deal more than 1W to you at once through her Eternal Warrior. If the enemy is a Thunder Hammer/Cataphractii praetor they'll be at base focus 2, at which point you literally can't lose no matter the rolls unless you are severely wounded or they have a ton of Outside Support. What the gambit is for is either fishing for a turnaround after you're wounded to ensure you get to strike first before they finish you off *or* ensuring you do some damage to a fast Primarch or similar before they crush you into the dirt. Her other major weakness is only being WS6, so most elite space marine or Mechanicum duelists will be hitting you on 3s while you hit back on 5s, but your high damage, EW and crits can help make up for that.
>>96931440For her points? Shes absolutely absurd. The most cost effective duellist in the game bar none. In terms of "absolute power"? Far weaker than she was before. She wont be dogwalking sigismund or whatever for example.
>>96931574Bro, she's a human. Be thankful she's above WS5. If you send her against a full Primarch, that's on you.
>>96931574Damn, that's crazy. I forgot that EW was straight damage reduction. She's an annoying little shit, that's for sure, which was true last edition as well. Really hoping they bring back all the fun shit they added last edition. >>96931695To be fair, dumpstering opposing WS to 1 was a special brand of stupid and I loved it.
>>96931711>dumpstering opposing WS to 1 was a special brand of stupidIndeed. Shes much less crazy now, but much more cost effective. For 125pts shes an absolute steal.
>>96931695She's surprisingly close to Siggy boy considering he literally costs double what he does. Same wounds, same saves, she has better damage and is slightly faster, he has better WS. I think Siggy has an edge just because of WS7, but it could easily go either way.>>96931705>>96931711The non-Astartes factions do quite well for themselves in the duelist stakes this edition. The Mechanicum Arcuitors are probably the runners up in the cheap duelist category, since a combination of WS8 from cybertheurgy + paragon, slightly better than 4++ saves and the Malagra gambit produces a Siggy-level duelist for around 160-170pts.
>>96931486We see art and model kits mix helmets, backpacks and shoulder pads, so those must have some universal connector allowing them to be swapped between marks. Some design elements can be shared across marks, like the old MkIV power weapon set came with a pair of MkIV torsos with MkIII style front plating and dick flap. Considering it's just extra armour, it shouldn't be hard to cast/forge it to fit the MkIV. MkIV kit also comes with some MkII style shoulder pads.As for actual armour parts, MkIII is just a modified MkII, so those two should be able to mix and match parts as needed. MkIV onward the suits were made using the same template, so mixing their parts should be much more easy. MkV used older materials and systems, but its construction followed the MkIV design. MkVI kept as much of the MkIV as possible and MkVII is just a further designed MkVI. Even the Black Books acknowledge that MkII/III and MkIV+ are not readily compatible, but noting a skilled worker with a grinder, welder and soldering iron can't do given enough time.

>>96931531the mother of all wrench
>>96931835Nice lore answer but my original post was unclear, I meant the model kitsThe newer kits do not look all that compatible apart from head and shoulder pads, is my impression true? Would i be able to put a nu-MkII torso over a pair of MkVI legs?
>>96931919anything is possible when you try hard enough
>>96931936How?
>>96931919Yes, but only if it's the exact pose (at least without cutting)
>>96931963through copious amount of alcohol rehab
>>96931992wrong pic, you saw that one already
>>96931919>"nothing a skilled modeler with a clipper, glue and green stuff can't do given enough time."FTFYThe new bodies come as a monolith, so you can't readily swap legs or torsos. Backpacks require you to clip the tab they mount to (then again, I have plenty of resin and plastic parts that will not go together without clipping the tab either, so it's not an exclusive problem with the new designs). New arms are slimmer with smaller hands, and both bolter hands are fixed to the gun. You can mix arms with hands as a whole, but do keep their different design in mind.
>>96931997FW torsos are a different pain
Are there any World Eater groups that aren't just screaming retards in the lore? Were there any splinter groups with Librarians or something? Or maybe War Dogs that avoided the nails?

You know, I mentioned TS + WE Shattered Legions last thread as joke, but they're oddly complementary as TS make them impossible to be pursued after melee while WE make them better at pursuing.
>>96932189He's lying
>>96932112>Or maybe War Dogs that avoided the nails?Everything happened. If Black library is allowed to come up with a post Thunder Warrior War Hound who missed the nails for being away, and loyalist cyber ghost Death Guard, then you are allowed to make World Eaters who aren't madmen foaming at the mouth.Regular WE aren't berserkers all day long to begin with. Fans merely flanderized them that way, the same way they think EC are about sex instead of about obsession. All the Nails do is the removal of the body's self-limitations of Fear-and-Pain (you could lift a car for a bit but you'd hurt yourself) by means of causing depression (violence becomes the sole release of Endorphins). And even then it's not specifically MELEE RAGE. It's simply Aggression. World Eaters are quite fine holding their position, so long as they keep getting targets in their crosshairs. But no, Khorne is the god of SPECIFICALLY AXES
>>96932274>it's not specifically MELEE RAGE. It's simply Aggression. World Eaters are quite fine holding their position, so long as they keep getting targets in their crosshairs.>But no, Khorne is the god of SPECIFICALLY AXESit's a real shame there's so many metal song about blood for the blood god; but no glam metal band all bout slaanesh
>>96932309I wish Khorne would have taunted Dorn with visions of Sigismund's children going "Blood for the Emperor, Skulls for the Gold Throne. Kill, pray, burn". All violence fuels him, be it senseless or "righteous".
>>96932112Endryd Haar and his Fangs of the Emperor come to mind, blackshields technically but he had some world eaters/warhounds with him. Hells Endryd never even had the Butcher's nails implanted.
>>96932351that would be way too based of GW; a grim reminder that humanity is going to lose; now or later
>>96932365>Endryd never even had the Butcher's nails implanted.Interesting. I'm ok with blackshields, I was looking at AaF for some herohammer and at Loot the Dead+Flesh is Weak for normal armies that aren't all about standing on objectives.
>>96932390Endryd is the one Blackshields unique character, so you can grab him for any non-AAF army. His faux-warlord-trait letting you infiltrate all your troops kind of rocks, too.
>>96932182That is HH1. Book 8 added a lot of relic stuff and anti-warp weapons. Most went to destroyers as options or Nullificators.
>>96932407Alright, that settles what boxes I'm getting next. I only wish they'd come out with plastic mk5s...
>>96932407god i miss special character abilities; especially primarch army wide rules.i'm not too mad about current one turn rules because i imagine it as a "battlefield plans are the first casualty" kinda thing but i really wish primarchs were more than mere beatsticks (they should have their own missions like titans fight me)
>>96932432The main thing I miss is Alpharius' alternate deployment rule actually letting you get up the board by popping out of a squad of infiltrators or whatever. His old army buffs were nuts and I'm glad those got tuned down a bit, but stuff like Curze's really fast run or Alpharius materializing from a squad of your choice really helped make some Primarchs play differently to the standard issue spartan-deployed unguided missile.Dynat being able to infiltrate a squad is cool though, points for that.
I'M BREAKING THE HAAAABIT
>>96932558I broke a nail
>>96931440it means that there's basically nobody she can't Challenge and reasonably expect to strike first, even guys like Fulgrim (who'll still get 3 bonus Attacks for comparing Base Initiative) can be forced to strike second and that Attacks disparity is partially redressedparticularly if she comes to them late-game where there's a good chance just a few Attacks could finish them off in a Challenge, an AP2 sword that auto-Wounds at D3 on a 6+ is a good weapon, it'll fuck most special characters (even EC with +1I from Charging and other bonuses) potentially before they strike back, and each Attack vs a 4++ Primarch is no worse than 1/12 to take 1W which is pretty oftenbut having used that Gambit to deal early damage in a Challenge might put some enemies below the threshold for gaining Challenge Advantage (or below the likelihood to a degree that Jenny is happy with the risk) and so switching Gambits for repeating the Strike Step may also be advantageousshe's obviously still a work in progress but the flat yr WS1 nao lol rule she had would be extremely OP in this edition, even as a 1-time Gambit it might well be the decider (particularly vs most WB and TS unique characters - most TS characters in fact - where she's getting her Hatred bonus and they're unable to Wound better than 1/3; and it negates Magnus's own Gambit entirely, she will murder him no matter how long it takes); given her inclusion in any Loyalist army is no harder than paying 125 points and taking her as an Allied Detachment with Special Assignment, she's pretty good
>>96932274>All the Nails do is the removal of the body's self-limitations of Fear-and-Pain (you could lift a car for a bit but you'd hurt yourself) by means of causing depression (violence becomes the sole release of Endorphins). The fuck are you on about, the nails cause extreme pain every second the user isn't inflicting bloody violence, that's the whole point of the saying "the nails are biting"
Are you ready for the storm anons?
>>96932689460pts for Krole and 10 sword Sisters in one of their cheap, fast, reasonably durable assault transports. Really not bad as these things go, although the regular girls are stuck with what are basically 2A lightning claws, so you might even want to save points by only bringing five, or swapping to flamers.
>>96932712Says they>Enhance aggression and rage>Remove the ability to enjoy anything but angerWhere does it say it also causes pain? Angron is twitchy, insomniac and has nosebleeds on top of that because he's also missing his insular cortex and limbic lobe, which his marines do keep, which means the only emotions he gets to experience is Fight, Flight, Feed and Fuck your shit.
>>96932875>Where does it say it also causes pain?In the novels? The WAY they induce aggression and rage is by causing constant pain at any time you arent killing something. You can read about it in the story where the legion gets them implanted, its like this clicking in your head, driving pulses of pain through your system to drive you to action.
>>96932916>Anon only gets violent impulses when he's on physical pain, and is unable to muster rage from a position of comfortI bet contempt doesn't armor you, disgust doesn't shield you, and hatred isn't your sword baka.Eh, I guess it also causes pain then? I wish it didn't. Being perpetually aggressive for no reason at all is better, as it is inhuman.Being angry for a reason (pain) is entirely logical, and thus quite basic.
>>96932715>porn addict with the current xitter artist they're shillinghere's the (you) you're desperate for btw
>>96932998The thing is, the butchers nails arent esoteric or "complex", they arent supposed to feel alien or inhuman, theyre supposed to be a brutal and simple way to make someone aggressive. Its a human equivalent of spurs.
Skyfire doesn't effect ground fire anymore so the deredeo can finally haul around a bunch of hunter killer missiles like it always should have.
>>96932715I have accepted the fate, that SoS will be ignored yet again for custodeswank and performative black library writerswhat I have no accepted yet is the shitstorm that's about to go down, I guarantee you there will be some "well thats for HORUS HERESY not FORTYKAY SO IT DOESNT COUNT, STAY MAD LIBS" eternal cope argument
>>96933298Hey, Custodes are vaguely tolerable to fight this edition, so as long as they keep their less nuts invuln saves I might actually enjoy blowing the heads off golden boys.It is admittedly always satisfying to kill a meaningful percentage of all Custodes in existence whenever you take a game off them.
>>96933046>Its a human equivalent of spurs.Eh, the human equivalent of spurs is ...spurs.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CiliceBooo I don't want them to be in pain, I want them to be angry. Luckily 2.0 had "the Butcher's Claws" that say on some WE the nails did take right
>>96933742>I want them to be angryAnon one leads to the other. The constant irritating pain drives them mad, it inflames their aggression and causes them to want to lose themselves in violent anger as a means of release and venting their discomfort. The adrenaline high of combat is the only time they can distract themselves from their self inflicted misery.
I just looked and plasma cannons are S6 base and I am now upset.
>>96933768What does it matter? It still wounds marines on 2s and you still want to roll high to breach.
>>96933777It's the principle of the matter
>>96933777wounds terminators on 3s though, which is a shame for what used to be the premier terminator killing weapon.Oh yea and damage 1 so even those terminators you wound and fail their saves are surviving LOL
>>96933906*If* you do roll a good hit, as they are AP4 and depend on Breaching. For real, what's wrong with making Plasma AP2 now that tanks no longer explode and terminators have twice as many wounds effectively behind an iron halo?
>>96933768>>96933906It's S7 if you're stationary are you really gonna be moving plasma cannon squads around? And if you're moving just one or two in a vet squad it's just a D1 weapon it's not very important.
>>96933906>>Oh yea and damage 1 so even those terminators you wound and fail their saves are surviving LOLThat was always the case? Plasma cannons were never "premier terminator killers"Terminators have big bases, come in small-ish units and have 2+ armor, last edition they also rerolled armor saves vs plasma cannons half the time since heavy was stupid. Plasma cannons ARE worse against them because their breaching for nerfed (5+ rather than 4+ now), but THATS the key factor and not the -1S into the 2+ save. >>96933938Whats wrong with accessible mass AP2 shooting in a game about expensive high armor models. Because you dont want to invalidate every other weapon not meant for tank hunting?

>>96934033huron's laughing all the way to the bank
>>96934033Those might be 40k iron warriors.
>>96933938yeah, lets make it AP2! why bother with multi meltas when plasma will delete elite heavy armor squads (and meqs in general) and at a longer range? genius! Seriously what is with you deranged 1e fags in wanting to just ruin bringing any infantry?
>>96934027A poof keeps hitting on me at work, it gave me an epiphany as to why women hate dealing with it so much.
>>96934033Wiith a belt feed and a crown I think that might be a character
>>96933938>For real, what's wrong with making Plasma AP2 nowOkay, what do you imagine is better for killing squads of tactical marines. 10 Ap2 blast templartes wounding on 2s or any other weapon HSS can have? Do 4 volkite shots sound competetive with that? No? Thought so.Now, second scenario: Whats better for killing terminators, 10 blast templates (so 3~ hits each) Ap2 (but only 1 damage per hit), or 1 lascannon/multi melta which do 2 damage? Ap2 plasma would essentially invalidate most of the weapon options in the game because the game is (despite buffs to admech, militia and solar aux) about marines killing marines. And guess what? AP2 plasma would be the best for killing marines. And now you just broke the balance of the game, because those expensive marine melee bricks which half the army roster is designed around are answered by a one size fits all weapon that conveniently also shuts down mass power armor cost effectively. Take some anti-tank and you just have every possible base covered. Oh and custodes arent a real army any more because one TSS can how remove a squad per turn at 24"

>>96934189waahhh wahhhhhh wahhhhhh what are points costs for things even for + this is already the case anyways, like how often are you seeing heavy bolter or missile HSS. Or god forbid, plasma cannons!Make the good guns expensive. Make the bad guns cheap. People will take good guns to kill expensive models. And they will take the bad guns to save points/kill the cheap models.Anybody with half of a brain can figure this out, anon, do better.

My Master of Signals has disabled the stresm successfully. Roll intelligence to reactivate it
>>96934314>And they will take the bad guns to save points/kill the cheap models.Thats not how that works. People take/took volkites (expensive guns) to kill cheap models, because expensive things that kill cheap models well are good. Now imagine plasma cannons that kill tactical marines several times better than volkites ever could, but also melt terminators, AA and whatever the fuck else a marine list has short of vehicles. You would need to have it priced and restricted like old time disintigrators, which you cant do because its a staple marine weapon since forever.
>>96934337there's no evolution at all; the "indomitable human spirit" hasn't evolved for at least 2000 years. tech evolved tho; but the human brain who craves sugar and praise is still there
>>96934314>+ this is already the case anyways, like how often are you seeing heavy bolter or missile HSSSometimes, which is more than you could say would be the case if you just add a new god-weapon. Heavy bolters have their use, its just not a great use vs marines compared to autocannons or volkites. Missile launchers also have their use, even if their ability to crack vehicles is far lower now. Ones a cheap chaff clearer and the other is a budget anti-vet/light armor tool (that can also clear chaff very well). What do you think happens if you add a gun that kills heavy infantry much more cost effectively but also kills chaff as if not more cost effectively?

>>96935344It's odd mechanically that they're their own faction, but hey, maybe they'll be easy Line additions to Mech.
>cata with combi bolters and power fists>cata with volkite chargers and power weaponsLmao it's a one sprue difference but they're too cheap to just put both in the kit.
>>96935548Sexyy red.
>Ligma gets cooler araknae and fuck off flamethrower superheaviesIt's not fair
>>96935163Problem is the terminators have similar proportions but are taller whcih ends up making them just look like they are made in a different scale. The thigh pad doesn't help as it makes the legs look shorter in the silhouette.Instead they should've been a bit shorter but more bulky. The arms/upper body are too small relative to the long legs too. They're not women.>>96935588To me they match the artwork close enough. I thought the artwork for the new designs sucked at the time they came out and was correct.
>>96935763Let the scale nerds have something nice
>>96935751That's been standard in hh. Base weapon boxes with upgrade sprues for all the units. Just sucks that they likely won't have the upgrade sprues sold seperate.
>>96935588Only thing they kept was the retarded 5XL shoulder pads.
>>96935588I think the problem is actually that the hips on the new terminators isn't wider than a regular marine for some reason, unlike the actual book art.The book termie looks like a tactical marine could fit inside of the terminator suit, because the hips are 20% wider and the feet extend below and the shoulders up above. (pic related)whereas >>96935101the minis absolutely dont look wide enough for power armor to fit inside those thin non-childbearing hips. It looks maybe 5% wider instead of 20% wider... which doesn't sell the "I'm a walking battle tank" emotion at all.
>>96935784>They're not womenWith the breastplate sticking out that far they could be.
>>96935751Too cheap to put them both in the option in the box, and include the other power weapon options.
>>96935815That's been standard for models that have over ten weapon options for guns alone much less for melee and pistols as well. This is a unit that has 4 options.
Valrak seems to think Justaerin and Abaddon are on the horizon. If they look good I could see people buying them instead (those that won't print)
>>96935912Ah yes, because he was right about 40k leman russ and plastic warhound being shown today.
Someone check if cata is sold out on the webstore
>>96935830tested it using their preview image, yeah the termies just feel like the exact same proportions as the breacher but standing on a 2nd pair of shoes below their shoes... Their hip/chest/head is not terminator-scale at all.
New Ligma minis incoming?
>>96935997Nice. Very cool, actuually.>punisher turretExtremely cool
>>96935101they look like gundams
>>96935993Those breachers look way chunkier than the termies.
>>96936152yeah the round breacher chest actually makes his waist look LESS slimming than the fucking cataphractii terminator. And the extra height of the terminator's 2nd shoe stilts means the terminator looks even THINNER.Fucking anorexic supermodel cataphractii (might've made sense for Tartaros, but not catas)
>>96936152* and instead of huge football-player looking pauldrons for smashing horizontally, the new cata ones look more like a waitress carrying two trays of foot above her (and matches the waitress skirt of the cata)
Where's the femstodes model huh?
>>96935101I actually like these. They seem like an actual human fits inside them.
Wait, the book is just a rerelease of Horus Rising? I thought it would be a series of multiple books per volume
>>96935946GW can change the timing. He's literally never been wrong about what he's seen, it's just GW's choice to release things later anytime they want, you dumbfucking child.Look at daemon angron, they made the physical model years and years ago and it still hasn't been released.GW is no different from a movie studio randomly putting a movie a year or two later. I dunno why you're so retarded that idea shocks you.
>>96936327that means they have garbage proportions, space marines are much musclier and thicker than a regular human. Instead of a regular ribcage it's extra feet wider, a solid wall of bone with extra lungs and two hearts and other extra organs inside their chest. The new terminators are absolutely shit at being space marine terminators, they're scaled like imperial guardsman terminator suits.
>>96935946Dunno about the Leman Russ but I'm pretty sure he said the warhound was a while off, at least next year
>>96936348It's also a new Cover as well, I think
>>96936388Yeah new cover but I expected a bit more than "We're re-releasing 12 HH books"
>>96936381because regular marines in normal armor definitely look like that and your comment is not delusional
>>96935101glad i bought twenty more old cata when the art leaks came out
>>96935751shrinkflation so now it's $160 per squad of terminators instead of $80And still only give you one single gun option and one single melee weapon option, because they want you to have to also buy a $40 upgrade kit so you're paying $200 for a single squad of terminators. And remember that $120 transport they intentionally deleted melee deepstrike to force you to have to buy for each terminator squad! Anyone still buying from GW at this point needs rehab for addiction.

>>96935588Here's the guys inside those new terminators
Now this might be a crazy thought, but this dude might make for a good very eccentric/Emp Children aligned Archmagos
>>96936841>some weird flamethrower falchion>no legion stormbladeI bet we'll have a melta super-heavy before a plastic stormblade.
>>96936886This might be my favorite model they've put out in the past few years. Would make a good militia force commander too desu. Perfect for a decadent and self-important planetary overlord.
>>96936886I love this guy, he's so very Judge Dredd. Strongly considering using him as an Archmagos base, yeah. Maybe the one running with my headhunters.
>>96933966>Plasma cannons were never "premier terminator killers"Plasma was forever the premier terminator killer, in every form be it cannon or regular gun size.Plasma forced Termies to use their invuln like meltas did, but plasma guns had twice the rate of fire meltaguns did. And plasma cannons...well, fuck using that many small blasts, but they were also there. Regular plasma guns are much easier to compare to other guns, so it's often plasma gun vs meltagun. Then all termies got 2W where in 1.0 only a few had. If Plasma guns had kept AP2 then they would've been equal to meltaguns; twice the shots but needs two vs single shot but needs only one. But the melta gun also cooked vehicles, while plasma guns were AP4 and had to rely on Breaching. But now meltaguns bounce off a Rhino's front hull half the time, so I guess it's balanced now?>But it was about plasma cannons, not plasma in generalNow it is.

Plasma fags really need to figure out the reason why plasma (and really, most ranged weapons) keep getting nerfed is because the majority of people rightfully think marines and Terminators marching across the field and getting into bloody melees is cooler and way more fun than Mexican leafblower standoffs where you either completely eradicate the enemy's ability to interact turn 1 or have the same done to you
>>96937063I like them. They look suitably bulky and I'm really glad they sit flush to the body, the gaps they have on the current models activate my autism for some reason

what about old cataphractii torsos and arms on nu-cataphractii legs?
>>96937086For the cost of 10 plasma gunners, surely the rushing power armoured marines outnumber them? Or you can support them with your own status-inducing guns? >>96937173sadly there's no part that is salvageable on the primaris cataphractii. Both the top and the bottom are skinny and very long and out of proportion to other models.Swapping the top or bottom would look just as silly as trying to slap a firstborn tactical torso onto a MkVI primaristactical set of legs or trying to slap a MkVI primaristactical torso onto a firstborn set of legs. Both will be equally creepy. It's like that question "mermaid bottom and fish top or fish bottom and mermaid top?" One of the two might be worse t han the other but both options are definitely gonna be messsed up and you wouldn't pay money for it.
>>96937241Just who are these guys anyways? Never heard of that kind of Skitarii. Also, they are really doubling down on the Pickelhaube until you like it, huh?
>>96937241Everything below the knee is just like 33% too long. Frustrating because almost every other warhammer digitigrade is proportioned correctly.
Did they mention if we're getting a separate breacher upgrade sprue? Or is the only option a full kit with Mkiii bodies?
>>96937241I like that they made sure nobody can just use regular skitarii for these guys by making them bigger than normal infantry and making their weapons not just a (las)rifle of some sort, but clearly a volkite weapon. >>96937824No, they'd look exactly like the ones they revealed, weird janky pieces of shit that are too thin. That's exactly what I realized when I tried do it myself and thus stopped trying to reinvent the wheel and just get tortuga, who'd already done the work of properly reproprtioning the terminator armor. I suggest you do the same before GW starts seriously coming after them for doing their work better.
>>96937241I honestly think the worst thing about these is the riflewhere the fuck are the holding onto?where is the trigger?why are they so obsessed with giving mech these ancient looking rifles with random looking bits strapped to it instead of just having arcane looking, esoteric guns?
>>96937959Cargo cult. Like gunstock war clubs, they imitated what they think a gun is like. And as good bretons, they don't know what a gun actually is. I think that bayonet is also dumb.As for why Mech always looks like that, Mars is a desert and they are contractually obligated to have arab guns from John Carter and Dune. NEVER 50s retro futurism
>>96937959>where the fuck are the holding onto?To me it looks like the rifle is directly integrated with their right hand.

>>96937936Veletarii Vanguard Sections
>>96937936The ones they have? It's not like flamers are that bad these days, with the dual roles of crowd control and, well, crowd erasure since artificer armor is gone and you can jump out of rhino that moved 12" and pump 50-80 hits on a unit with staggered ranks.
>>96937993Read what I said nigger, "just adding a spacer" is what GW did to the nu cataphractii because they're lazy hacks and why they look thin and feminine, and anyone doing the same to old cataphractii will end up with the same result because just adding height vertically looks dogshit when you're doing nothing to actually make the armor bulkier
>>96938006>thin and feminineFemale Space Marines confirmed!!!
>>96937985this would be true of 40k but in the GC and HH, mech innovated and were constantly creating new ways to nuke each other with man portable devicesnothing in the current mechanicum range even remotely resembles a modern firearm

>>96938012But anon, they're lee zany pilgryms(TM). Ignore all the lore you've read, Skitarii in the HH only existed as the Fabricator-General's personal cultists who went looking for ancient technology and modeled their weapons on archeotech like the "Browne Bezz autolock" of ancient Terran times
>>96935101Quick go buy some old boxes until they are not eradicated

>>96938030>Skitarii in the HH only existed as the Fabricator-General's personal cultistsBut that's been true since the Black books. That's the whole point of the taghmata system, they're the feudal armies of magi because the skitarii legions only work for the Forge world as a whole

>>96938091I’m already printing breacher shields since they went with fucking mk3
>>96938073On one hand I agree. On the other the whole "they're both incredibly weak and incredibly strong" does fit the whole fascism thing
>>96938091anyone not already doing this has literal brain damage.I just bought the "$275 fulgrim" for $76And 10 recast Lernaeans is $80, GW wants $248 for a single terminator squad. It already feels pricy at 80. You're not "supporting the artist", if you buy from GW 99% of it is a ferrari for a CEO who laughs at how fucking stupid you must be to pay GW prices and gives the probably outsourced 3d sweatshop artist 5 bucks of the million dollar profit.
>>96938105well they went loyalist because kelbor hal suddenly declared that the omnissiah was a fraud and then the skitarii had yo decide whether to listen to him or zagreus kale or whatever the fuck his name was who the loyalists stuck in as the de facto leader of the new mechanicus
>>96938105Truth be told, 1.0 Mechanicum book does say:>Alongside the elite Skitarii regiments, whose allegiance and command was owed ultimately to MarsI'm curious to know how and when did Skitarii go from being beholden to Mars to just general line soldiers of each Forge World. In old fluff Skitarii were just the fancy name for Tech-Guard, the Admech Imperial Guard equivalent and largely organized like it.
>>96938098Ofc I am, just not for all for now
>>96938126Not my point. The point is right until today the lore was every Forge World had its own Skitarii because Skitarii and Tech Guard were the same thing in old lore and even after they spun out the Taghmata in the black books the Skitarii remained the 'men-at-arms' to the Taghmata's levies. Now we have this shit and I hate it because it's purely to make the Skittles in 30k special and different from 40k.>>96938130I'll admit I didn't know it said that, still think them just being each FW's regular soldiers compared to the Tech-Guard's peasant levy is better. So I'm just going to ignore this lore and substitute "the Fabricator-General" to "the Fabricator-General OF THEIR FORGE WORLD".Also yeah I wish we could go back to when Ad Mech used Rhinos and Russes. I love these guys, but I’m not sure what I should proxy them as in 40k. I don’t want to use them in place of the regular Skitarii, but the uniformity of their guns makes it kinda hard with the options in Imperial Agents. Maybe I should run them as Battle Sisters?
>>96938286I’m going to be honest, I thought this was /40kg/. Please forgive my retardation.
>>96938247>the russians sent my order to the wrong addressAre you a Ukrainian and if so did they send the order to Poland by any chance?
>>96938247God fuck those lying cunts, a (now thankfully defunct) recaster site was having a 50% sale on their few mechanicum offerings (mind you even with such a deep discount they were only a little cheaper than normal prices from non-retarded recasters) which I decided to get 18 thallax from to supplement the 12 thallax I'd be getting from 2 launch boxes. It took 2 months of emailing the retard every 2 weeks for him to finally respond and say they were in production, then another 3 weeks to actually be manufactured, then he tried lying to me on multiple occasions that he had sent the package but was being blocked by the war or the post office rejected the package (the retard had given me the tracking number before hand so I could look it up and see he never gave them the package in the first place), and then finally after another 3 weeks (3.5 months total!) The shit was finally on the way, along with a "special surprise for all the problems" Only for the package to arrive and every single right arm had an identical snap which meant a fuckton of gluing before I gave up and used spare arms from the plastic kits and clearly meant either his molds were fucked (most likely why he had the steep sale) or he was simply was too retarded to remove the arms correctly from the mold. And the special surprise turned out to be the arms for the other special weapons ( I had ordered 6 sets of photon thrusters) - WHICH ALSO HAD THE IDENTICAL BROKEN RIGHT ARM And this isn't even getting into the escapades of black legion market sending me the wrong kit 3 fucking times before I just gave up and asked for a refund! (Funnily enough I ended up using some of the salamander helmets I got from that debacle for my word bearers because of the flame motif). Just don't use any of those retards, slavs are subhuman knuckle draggers and I can only hope the war drags on forever and cripples both countries back to the stone age where they belong.
>>96938286Would be nice if they had a melee or 2 pistols variant of these.
But you still can run Terminators with two LC? as 10 man squads or mix loads outs in squads. Because I have 15 claw ones and 15 with range weapons and a fist/chainfist/destructor. If squads now are 6 man, I am kind of a left with left over minis or understrenght squads.
>>96938192I'd use the china website except I believe they do the scam requiring a paypal friends invoice so you can't get a refund if everything is broken or they send you nothing at all?Because of that I got my china recasts over ebay mostly.

>>96938369the rules are decided by what is in the box for new releases. that is why you get retarded limits on wargear on characters etc I just want to know if I can run 3 units of 5 claw armed terminators. Or do I have to go out and buy TWO old boxes just to make all my units legal.
>>96938379
>>96938379I was going to type up a point to try and explain to you but I realized if you're genuinely so brain damaged to not already realize what's going on with the rules there's no point in wasting my time
>>96938378I have no idea why, but I don't even live in Asia and stuff from TEMU and recasters is in a week tops 10 days, here. And larger orders get here even faster (I mean like 5-10 people orders combined). I guess that is the one good side living in eastern europenis.
>>96938352>Multiple options in one kitSorry anon, GW is helping us by making all kits single option.
>>96938383I don't care about the rules. I don't play the game . I just want to know if the new box means the legal size of a terminator squad , for it to be lore accurate is 6 dudes and if the said dudes can have claws.
>>96930005So I’m just starting some world eaters and I’m new to Heresy, is creating a ZM force a good start to get into heresy? What kind of points should I be aiming to get for my first few games?
>>96938378Ordered china recasts on ebay, on average probably 2.5 weeks total from order to delivery at house in united states, so 8 weeks is definitely not normal.
>>96938388They can do multiple kits like Solar Auxilia
>>96938391You're not beating the brain damage allegations anon
>>96935101man these look so off somehow and the powerfist is pathetically slimline.
>>96938420gotta be honest with you - I didn't even realize these are supposed to have powerfists or any melee weapon at all - that's how fucking pathetic those pfist sculpts are. I thought it was gun and bare hand.
>>96938412yeah. meanwhile GW forced me to throw out and rebuy 30 templar brethern, because of pistols being removed.
>>96935101BAD! BAD! MOTHERFUCKER BAD! Where is the bulk? They are supposed to be the heaviest armor pattern out there (saturnite is a mental illness)
>>96938448I like them the gaunt look will fit my guant centurion..
>>96938444>tfw GW's security team comes to your house and forces you to destroy your old models at gunpoint
>>96938444>yeah. meanwhile GW forced me to throw out and rebuy 30 templar brethern, because of pistols being removed. You are GW's target audience and the reason they pull this shit
>>96938142>So I'm just going to ignore this lore and substitute "the Fabricator-General" to "the Fabricator-General OF THEIR FORGE WORLD".
>>96938247Honestly, the chinks are better sellers than whites.Who would have thought.
>>96938444What the fuck are you talking about? Templar brethren haven't lost any pistol options, they can all still take plasma pistols and the champion can have an archaoetech pistol, that hasn't changed since 1.0
>>96938489>Calth was an act of self-defenceIt literally was? WBs were only shooting the Ultramarine ships because they thought it was a second Monarchia
>>96934769>no spilling guts>no piles of poopFinally, nurglites I can use
>>96935360That'd actually be a neat conversion for DG
>>96938457I'm going to stick nails into my head and charge into the GW HQ
>>96938526Do you only play SoT games?
>>96934828sounds like a callback to the old Slaine strips or an updated Fenbeast or both to me but what do I know
>>96938539>implying I play games
>searching in my bits to trying to find a spare open left handI'm going to lose it.
I guess I'm printing Cataphractii after all
>>96938665Retarded troon proportions.
>>96938665If I wasn't already set on getting these I sure am now
>>96938776>those pauldron gaps
>>96938795nah I appreciate the big shoulder connection gives you more to work with when converting them for poses.
>>96938776People who create and condone cataphractii with a fucking grand canyon between the torso and shoulder pads should get shot.
>>96938665Wilph knows his shite. This stl even has the nuPauldrons and nuHelmet, but still captures the bulk the armour is supposed to have.
>>96938859I like the mkV-style tubes and speaker on the chest.
>>96938843Tell me you never wore shoulder protection working in a steel mill or steel forge, without telling me you never worked in any of those places.
>>96938911Ah yes, because that is totally the same thing as combat armour, or futuristic personal plate that turns the wearer into a walking tank.
>>96935523BL will never allow an opportunity to shit on the Iron Hands to pass by.
>>96936426Yes GW have consistently failed to properly depict Marine miniatures hence why there is now literally a decades-long obsession among some fans to fix their ongoing mistake. What's delusional about pointing out their failure to live up their own fluff, dipshit?
Returned from the weekend vist to the store and we had a "dividing" of a collection of a guy that quit or died. Got 20 mk6 tacticals and parts of a tank. No side sponsons or turret for it. But I am still happy. My question is, what is this? It is land raider sized, but looks like a very large predator, or maybe it is a land raider explorator? the one without hatches?
>Cataphractii now looks more sleek and futuristic than Tartaros
>>96938954Kratos
>>96938963thanks Awesome. Now I will have to start operation "Can someone print me a turret and side sponsosn" at the store. Is there a version of a Kratos that has two twin linked battle canons/twin guns of any kind?
>>96938142>right until todayMate you need to take your senility pills. The Black Book fluff was that Skitarii are, explicitly, the army of Mars and the Fabby Gen. That's when the "Skitarii = Tech Guard and all FWs have Tech Guard" oldfluff from the Space Marine/Epic 1st edition days was overwritten for the 30K fluff. You can dislike that change but deluding yourself into believing this is a new retcon rather than one that's foundational to the modern Heresy fluff is just retarded.
>>96938989Have you tried looking at the Kratos unit entry?
>>96938961It actually makes me sick in the stomach how much I hate this redesign
>no Battlefleet Heresy announcementsad
>>96938333> Deal with Russians> Get shitWhy is anyone surprised? The slav is a naturally dirty, disgusting ape. Why would you trust an ape to do anything right?
>>96938991The FW and HH2+ Mechanicum fluff is nonsense and the outlier compared to all the other older and newer sources (Visions, HH novels, and 40k stuff). It was just a lame excuse to avoid having the same range of minis in both settings, and because Alan Bligh was a robotfag. And even in Inferno (the Black Book) there's skitarii vanguards with volkite chargers fighting alongside the SW against the TS.
>"god I love these new mech units, I just wish GW would stop being retarded and port them to 40k, i'm not playing the marine game">implying 40k isnt a marine game>not being the change they want to see and playing a non-marine factionI hate 40k mech fans my god
>>96938999I don't play the game. I just build and paint models that I get gifted or that my mom brings me. But you are right I could look at what other people painted.
>>96939061I trust my mom to make me food every day, and it is delicious. Same with my grandmothers, when they were still alive. I lost a vindicator at home, and the guys at the store gave me 4, they have left over from printing. All those people are slavic.
>>96939051Blood Bowl player here, it's for the best. Let it stay dead, interred with honours in our memory, then exhumed by these dogs, it's corpse paraded in the street without dignity for the purpose of their quarterly earnings.
>>96939081It takes 5 seconds in google to find GW's entry for the product and see what it normally includes in the box
>>96939071There are no 40k mech fans. Any real mech fans have given up long ago and moved on, the models after the first wave have been nothing but garbage.
>>96939097It is a bit harder on a phone, then I have to reload 4chan and it takes 2 mins to be able to post . And the GW company site is blocked on my phone. But I did find it . I will ask if someone can print out volkite on the sides and a large , I think, volkite gun in the turret. As it looks the coolest.
>>96939100sunk cost fallacy and tranny bullshit2 reasons why people would
>fags spent 2 months crying about new cataphractii art being taller than normal marines despite being proportionally good looking (they weren't, the page was just angled weird)>New cataphractii models are properly scaled to normal marines, but are total lanklets and look like complete shit >Oh also the kit only comes with power mauls and volkite for 6-12 months, fuck you
>>96939152You still can't make a full squad of 12 with all matching weapons from that box, it will have 2 sets of bodies then 1 set of each weapons
>>96932715No 'stodes in sight. Fem or otherwise.
What are you working on, my fine gentlemen? Surely you are using your rage energy to create instead of destroy?Post shite.
>>96939203>Femstodes were so vile they killed the stream and replaced it with one that didn't have them
>>96939220Looks nice! Did you magnetize the weapons options?
>>96935075>>96935101>>96935114>>96935142Atleast the Vultarax looks good, i guess…
i called the shit show as soon as the preview show was announced
>>96939220He looks kinda small
>>96939165Honestly, I'm more interested in the breachers, as I'd imagine most of us are? I'd hazard a guess that the upgrade kit is two identical sprues, each with 5 shields, 5 bolters, 1 Grav and 1 Lascutter?
>>96939478>two identical spruesMost likely. Hopefully it isn't gonna take too long before the upgrade kit is sold separately.
>>96939478Wouldn't it be 1 sprue of 10 bolters + shields and whatever extra weapons they includeSurely they wont be selling breachers as a 5 man squad
>>96939524GW will just sell a box with two upgrade sprues in it.
>>96938991So why are there generic Skitarii from Konor at Calth during Know No Fear then anon?
>>96939051>no Battlefleet Heresy announcementRelieved
>>96939093>Mother is a slav>Grandma is a slavAnon, I...
>>96937241these would've been great as the base for something Dark Mech and I just don't get why GW can't establish them already. They literally just released the vultarax it would've been PERFECT also nuCataphractii are way better than old, Tartaros need the next touch up though
>>96939478>BreachersYawn. Useless troops>VETERAN BreachersO.O!!
So how slender is Nu-Tartaros gonna be? And who is stealing the sandwiches?
>>96939862nu-tartaros is gonna be so lanky it'll look like scout armour LMFAO
>>96939862nu-Tartaros will be longshank only
Based Aximand fashionmogging the Mournival without compromising his workmanlike demeanor
Lorewise, why didn't destroyer squads go and make phosphex flamers? Why is it that they're stuck with two bolt pistols, a slightly more effective flamer or go directly into DAoT level guns like the Disintegrator? There's not even weapons like the nerve inductor or the grey goo ammunition used by the Nemesis chapters. Which leads me to believe that the other Legions as well have their own unique stores of dangerously unstable weapons that might not be totally physical in nature.
>>96939880>phosphex flamersNot possible. The phospex would immediately also start burning the flame weapon itself, the person wielding it, and then everyone else in the vicinity.
>>96939746>picI just want SoS man
>>96937352They're mentioned in the Martian Civil War, amongst the forces Corax joins up with on Mars. Those ones had photon weapons though, and did a funny suicide charge.
>>96937849Old Good New Bad is the most pathetic defence, and those who spout it should be mocked relentlessly.
>>96937959>>96937988seems to me like there's a slot the hand goes into - could be integrated, but it seems more like an inset. Very odd design, but it's not SW termie praetor.
>>96939979I admit I'd have much preferred them with photon guns, and the rifles they've got could plausibly be photon, lightning or volkite weapons. They look neat though, I think they'll go well with the vehicles, Thallax and Myrmidons in particular.
>>96939877Is that Torgaddon on the right of Loken? Sons of Horus are so cool, I just wish I could play the damn game rules be damned.
>>96939203My face is very eggy.
>>96940066Yeah it's the whole Mournival
>>96939877Aximand's power pack looks like it takes cues from the old 4e CSM backpacks
>>96935101>No chainfists>no Power swords or Axes>No Plasma blaster>Less models per box.>2 boxes with different weapons, so if you want Volkite + Fists you can get fucked. How is it that GW actively go out of their way to make newer kits worse than the old ones?
>>96940180Because that is how every publicly traded company beholden to its shareholders has to function: exponentially keep increasing prices whilst decreasing the value of the product.
>>96940180Don't worry, they sell you all those upgrades with the new Araknae variants next year
>>96940066>I just wish I could play the damn game rules be damned.Same my region has not HH groups, hopefully when I move out there will be one
>>96940180Power sword and maul in the other box buckaroo, now pay up.
10 man veteran breacher squad with power axes mayhaps?
>>96940347>>96940347>>96940347
>>96940180>No grenade harness>No lighting claws>No Thunder Hammers for the whole squadGrim
>>96938843The ideal is shoulders that have a gap, but the smallest gap possible.
>>96939880Well, the WE equivalent didn't do that because they preferred to get stuck in a murder people with their ridiculous space-gladiator weapons, which was always that chapters brand. The Ultramarine and Salamander equivalents didn't do that because they were Nice Guys(tm) The Dark Angel version didn't do that because they preferred plasma flamethrowers instead of phosphex. The Blood Angel version tried everything BUT that, including giving entire squads of Jump-Pack equipped Destroyers Assault Cannons. The Word Bearers equivalent were more about demolishing structures as well and Phosphex is so so at that. The Death Guard equivalent TRIED at least, to do that, and Alchem Flamers are probably the closest we can get to the concept.Honestly, a squad of Heavy Support Vets all with Heavy Alchem Flamers, with a Warmonger attached, deepstriking in on turn 2 is a hilarious way to just delete a squad toting Lascannons, or a MoS and his Auger Boys team. And if someone tries to react by charging at them, then they're gonna get a load of Poison 2+ templates to the face since those things are Assault Weapons (which also means you can have a Predator volley fire if he's charged if you mount them on it.)
>>96939880What would depleted uranium bolt pistol stats be like? Gotta be pistols; the bolts wear down the shooting weapon fast, so less barrel is preferred....also remind me what Nemesis Mortifier bolters do, now that Seekers cause Panic themselves?
>>96930675>>96930689for some fucking reason a couple of the newer necromundua models have disintegrators
>>96940442What happens in Necromunda, stays in Necromunda.
>>96939986>NuCataphractii.pngIt is true for some things. "Enshittification" wouldn't be a word if it wasn't real.
>>96939877>combi-bolt pistol
>>96938991> the "Skitarii = Tech Guard and all FWs have Tech Guard" oldfluff from the Space Marine/Epic 1st edition daysthis is a retcon too, up until I think the 4E BRB they were officially called Tech-Guard or Praetorians and were either combat servitors or religious fanatics depending on who wrote the fluff or article, the first official use of "Skitarii" seems to be 4E, just 21 years ago and only as you note 8 years before they were further retconned/described for the first time vaguely in HH1 and created as an army for 40k in 2015 with their first (shitty) Codex release, which is where most of their early lore really comes fromhoweverlittle Warwick Kinrade did probably coin the term Skitarii for the unofficial Epic list in the Citadel Journal in 1997, where they were shitty Imperial Guard expies (since those were the Epic-scale models you were expected to use to represent them) with squad names like Hypaspists (lasguns), Sagitarii (heavy weapons), Cataphracts (tonks) and Ballisterai (artillery); and the Praetorians, who are both servitors AND religious fanatics, but had obviously been through some lore changes even by 2004; like most Journal armies and lore, they were really very experimental and non-canon, just-for-fun things; subsequent fiction (like Andy Chambers' Necron stuff) uses Praetorian as the preferred term for the things we would now thing of as SkitariiI'm not convinced the word Skitarii even appears in HH1 until Extermination in 2014, where the Skitarii "whose allegiance and command was owed ultimately to Mars", rather than the Fabricator-General, and by which time FW would clearly have known about the Skitarii being released for 40k in the near future; but 40k Skitarii are loyal to their own Forge Worlds because they're Adeptus Mechanicus (where Forge Worlds are ultimately just individual worlds and not part of a separate-but-equal empire as the Mechanicum is in 30k)tl;dr the lorelets don't know the difference
>>96938665>>96938859Where can I find this?
>>96938492all of them could take plasma pistols
