>>96941769Was never an elf.
Christmas elves from outer space are gearing up.
>>96941776Neither are Hylians or the characters from Wakfu but some people get upset about it if you remind them.
>last thread didn't even make it into autosagekek
>>96941878>Pointy ears
>>96942192Are you surprised when art dump threads get killed off when they reach image dump limit? Part of the fun of these threads is being able to post elf art. Once that's done you kinda pass out unless someone's want to world build.
>>96942271
>>96942271I'll world build. In my world, elves originally come from an island called Fhinnaire, but dwarf explorers dug a tunnel connecting the island to a nearby continent, many elves decided to colonize it. This lead to the main three races of elves on the new continent of Dromgea; the dark elves in the north, the high elves in the south, and the Moon Elves in their sanctuary valley. That sanctuary valley is the birthplace of their goddess, who's sat on a throne on the equator where she performs miracles powered by moonlight. Over the centuries the elves of Dromgea lost their antlers, the main difference between them and the elves of Fhinnaire. To the south of Fhinnaire is the island of Alviae, invaded by humans seeking refuge from an immense volcano and setting up the kingdom of Pritany, a kingdom mostly composed of half-elves. The dwarf tunnels connect a worldwide network of dwarven fortresses, so elves were able to travel the world before humanity's ascension. This spread Elvish craft, culture, and philosophy across the world. Before the age of humanity Elves were at their hegemonic height, but would fall to humanity as their long lives make them risk-adverse and their new homeland is hospitable enough to maintain their lifestyle. In the north a human empire called Veskala is expanding rapidly, at constant war with the dark elves.
This is my drow OC, can I play at your table?>Quarnolu (born Izzrak Auvryndar) was born in the Year 1440, Nightal 16 as the fourth child of a lowly house, which was barely worthy of a footnote in the grand design of Menzoberranzan.>The father was an unknown half-drow and the mother a mere merchant, dreaming of living a bigger life.>They grew up in Duthcloim and, despite being more tolerant of other races than the rest of Menzo, the young drow could feel the judgement and whispers behind their back. >After turning 16, they discovered their 'gift' (Blessed of Corellon) and truly started to feel the crushing oppressiveness of Lolthian society.>For years ' Izzrak' tried to hide themselves, especially weary of any Priestesses of Lolth or their close relatives.>As a Blessed of Corellon their mere existence was a threat to their society.>One of those days in 1492 they came across the flaying of an Eilistraeen priestess and then her sacrifice. With her final words (being praise to the dark maiden) ringing in those ears, the young drow was impressed by her devotion. They ditched the Underdark and arcane studies, scraping together what they could to get a more experienced scout to show them the way out. >After wandering through the Underdark for a while and finally reaching the surface, they changed their name.>Expecting Silverymoon they instead were smuggled to Luskan, but with their meager savings already at its end, there was little choice but to stay.>For a while they worked in the service industry and due to their nature they attracted many patrons, but despite their popularity the feeling of alienation didn't lessen.>After making enough, they left for Glimmerwood and joined the drow there in their worship of Eilistraee.
>>96942444Cool, elves get beaten by humans. I learned nothing about these elves and there is nothing that wants me to play one in your supposed game.
>>96942533>OC>Singular theyNo.
>>96942812Fingolfin would stomp Feanor 1v1
>>96942444>and the Moon Elves in their sanctuary valley. That sanctuary valley is the birthplace of their goddess,WhatSo how is this continent that they set to colonize is the birthplace of their goddess, how does that makes any sense
>>96941776>>96941878when does one pass the threshold of elfhood? Is it just a matter of authorial control? What about death of the author?
>>96943387Quite usually there's something magical about them om top of the pointy ears. Also longevity, but thats not a given because of the elves from dragon age.
>>96943442>but thats not a given because of the elves from dragon age.just like there has to be a area where things are clearly elves despite not being called that (GW will never officially call "aeldiarie" or whatever space elves, but they clearly are) there has to be an area where something that's called an elf clearly isn't an elf (like this truck)
>>96942890Fingolfin would never get around to dueling Feanor in the first place. Feanor was high king of the Noldoli and Fingolfin understood and respected his place in that hierarchy, that's why he was such a good brother. You see, Feanor wouldn't even have to fight and he would win. The only thing that stopped him was all the combined forces of the powers of hell at their peak fighting him at once.
>why hello there, have you been a naughty boy this year?
>>96943442>but thats not a given because of the elves from dragon age.um ackshually the elves from dragon age USED to have immortality but lost it. and a couple of them still have it, either allegedly (werewolf quest guy) or actually (solas)
>>96946959Tell me more about the military grade elven poncho.
>>96942930Their goddess is born after colonization.
>>96947150besides just keeping rain and cold at bay they also have a degree of adaptive camouflage, especially if the user is stationary or moving slowly
>>96946373The Eldar are the coolest elves in all of fiction.
>>96947984Wouldn't go this far…Certainly the coolest space elves.
>>96947984>Eldari>Poor and shitty copy-paste from Eldars from LoTR>Designated jobbers in their universe Lol lmao. Even Elric is better.
>>96948116Weak bait.
>>96948045I am willing to go that far. The Eldar are unironically in my opinion, the most unique and coolest take on the concept of elf out there. They manage to elevate the concept beyond just "humans with pointy ears and magic abilities" to a more interesting and unique idea both in terms of their lore and aesthetics.>>96948116The Eldar of 40k have basically nothing in common with Tolkienian elves besides using the term Eldar and being elves.Their aesthetics, and lore are wildly divergent from Tolkien's elves. Tolkiens' elves are essentially monotheistic idealized humans, who, while inherently magica, still more or less create and produce tools, societies and ways of life comprehensible to humans, whereas the Eldar are polytheistic superhuman beings that were made as psychic warriors whose psyche is fundamentally alien to humanity, and their tech is essentially all weird pseudo organic psychic shit that humans can't even use.
>>96948196>>96947980>>96947035I wish that the Incubi didn't have horns. They are the only flaw in their design imo. A helmet like the one in this picture would be way cooler.
warhammer elves are never beating the dickhead helmet allegations
>>96947881elf... goddess... colonization...
>>96949474The helmets are the best part of their aesthetic you tasteless fool.
>>96949523if you like dicks I guess
>>96949474>>96949523I agree with the plebian, the helmets are just silly. And they make it hard to give girl elfs their money shots.
>>96947150That's a capelet.
>>96948207They're a copy-paste from Tolkien but worse and jobbers. They straight up stole the name. They're not even top 5 fantasy elves, let alone "the best elves".
>>96949834>>96949882Weak b8.>>96949924Only someone who has read neither Tolkien or anything about 40k would make such a statement.
>>96949882Sauce?
>>96950325>Sauce?A past /the good/ elf thread. Sorry.
>>96949523The fantasy ones are way better though
>>96941776>>96941878Elves are mythological, their attributes are fluid and ill-defined. All of those things are Elves, depending on your definition. Dwarves, Fairies, Santa Claus, Gnomes, and the Finnish are all Elves depending on who you ask.
Anons are still confused about the fact that you can use one word for different things.
>>96950621I'm not confused, just disappointed.
>>96950689>Dear diary,>Today, anon posted a good.
>>96950325The artist is FrostyPersimmons I think
>>96950607A a Finn, I can confirm that we are in fact elves. Stay the fuck out of my enchanted forest if you dot want to be stabbed.
I have a confession I would like to make. I think Eldar armor design (especially the helmets) are bottom of the barrel trash.
>male human female elf>trash opinion
>>96953112How many times are we gonna do this dance you cretin?
>>96953401You can stop replying to yourself any time.
>>96953189Is Frost carrying her up a wall?Reminds me that the monk in my group grabbed slippers of spider climbing with the cash they had after I did a massive audit of what they should have. And what does she do? Forgets she has them lol.
>>96953401Until you stop posting the nasty dwarf!
is it ethically wrong to subjugate evil dark elf women and force them to be your private secretary in charge of doing unqualified demeaning things for you?
>>96956691I don't know, but I do know it is ethically wrong to repeatedly get AI to generate pictures and post them on any non-slop thread. You are better then this. Just use a normal search engine and find some drow pictures on the internet
>>96955042>Is Frost carrying her up a wall?Yes. He has some kind of wall-walking power that he barely ever uses. So because we're afraid of Ferris fucking up everything, Frost decided to carry Arrianne 120ft up the fortress entrance/hole, while Amy and Ferris teleported (dimension door).>Forgets she has them lolClassic. Frost player usually forgets to use his abilities.
>>96957812We'll see how that goes as we keep playing. I'll remind her... once. But I'm intending to roll more openly while also expect my group to know their shit once they got their feet wet.Barb player grumbled about some minor shit not being automated in Foundry. Motherfucker... He's one of the two reasons we 100% couldn't have done normal 5e without losing 1/3rd of the group, the A5E system was his top choice, and I made it very clear the automation and module support wasn't as extensive.
>>96957785I have lots of normal dark elf pics, but no scowling gagged office lady dark elf pics and I've never been able to find any
>>96945412You're not wrong but this is a cop out to the meme saying Feanor is literally the strongest Elf ever when his own brother was a mightier warrior. That's all I'm saying.
>>96950607This is maximum cope. Elves had a definition until non-Scandinavians bungled at translating it.
What if elves existed in Scandinavia + Finland and Iceland
>>96961085They do. They're called Sami people and they're equivalent of wood elves. They have their own very unique gipsy culture and they raise deers as pets.
>>96961317>samifag
>>96961317Being welfare parasites doesn't sound very elfish
>>96961571>>96961579I did say they have their own unique gipsy culture but it's still gipsy culture.
>>96961692I need to start reading this one day.Ah, the joys of a backlog.
>>96961995It's pretty great. But the artist already has 2 new side-projects so I'm little worried about Rudy's adventures getting put on ice sometime soon.
I believe in Eldar supremacy
I don't believe in waifufaggotry.
>>96962096Well I do, so fuck you
>>96961692What's the manga?
>>96963154The full name is a mouthful, but you should be able to find it as either Rudy the Blacksmith or BokeBuki.
Tricking a drow woman into putting on a cursed item that transform any spiteful, petty, evil, malicious, deceitful or otherwise unwholesome thought into intense pleasure spikes.
>>96963390I have an item like that! Well, similar to that. It's called the Circlet of Compliance and found on page 90 in the Compendium of Dark Elves. It wipes out a person's personality.
>>96963571>It wipes out a person's personality. That's no good. The item I had in mind definitely keeps the mind intact, but replaces evil thoughts. If the wearer tries to think about killing someone she'll get a knee-buckling orgasm instead. She either has to think about nice things, keep her mind clear and concentrate or be a wet mess. The use case is as a humiliating punishment for dark elf women
>>96963339So is the elf a boy or a girl?
>>96963705Well, while I do intend to update the book for ACKS II, I'm not going to put in an overt fetish item. That said...----The Collar of CorrectionThis is a collar, usually done in iron, but sometimes out of precious metals. When first put on, the wearer makes a save vs. Staffs/Wands every round. On a success, they can make an attempt to remove it with a successful Contortionism throw (or a flat throw vs 18+). On a failure, the collar snaps shut forever and can only be removed by another. The other power of the collar, other than a mark of ownership is the ability to instill feelings of intense pain or pleasure. The owner of the collar can touch the collar as an action and designate a set of thoughts that trigger the pain/pleasure induction. Afterwards, if the wearer thinks about the designated topics, they will be overwhelmed with either pleasure or pain - treat this as the charmed/bewitched condition. Cost: 37,500 gp to craft and 6 weeks to craft
>>96963738Your guess is as good as mine.
>>96964025dwarves will literally eat rocks and call it culture and fine cuisine
>>96963811>>96963571based dark elf PDF poster! Of course we can't put fetish stuff in a sourcebook. Nice write-up though. But on the other hand imagine the piercing, burning red eyes of your dark elf as she understand that's she's tricked and has to pick between making your morning coffee or cumming her brains out on the spot
>>96956691It's ethnically wrong to spam AI slop of a concept that'd be hot if it was drawn better.
>>96953189agreed, makes them look like gay coloured somalis
>>96965072i guess people have to get drawing then
>>96965072>ethnically Have a FE elf. Ljosalfar, literally a light elf.
>>96965946And a dokkalfar(dark elf). Fire Emblem elves were really off-putting to me at first, but over the years I've grown to appreciate how they're this mystical thing of myth even within the context of a fantasy world with an isekai portal gun and shape-shifting dragon girls.
Wood elves are cutes
>>96959828Don't remind her, put her in situations to use certain abilities. I make custom enemies to force my players when I see a repeating pattern emerging.>automationNow that's just spoiled. I know 5e is simpler than 3.5e, but how complex is A5E?
>>96966746
>>96966746>put her in situations to use certain abilitiesObviously she has a retarded amount of movement as a monk so could just run around, but she could have gone straight the side of the steps leading up into the tower. Next room is a good 15ft high and circular, so maybe she'll get the hint.>>96966746>how complex is A5EI can't even remember what it was he bitched about, it was so minor. For A5E, only a little more complex baseline. The Foundry system actually has a good bit of automation, just not as "hands off" as PF2e was.He can Rage, and it'll apply the buffs to him for the correct amount of time. Only thing that needs to be manually managed there is the stackable temp HP A5E barbarian gets per round. Maybe that was it?
>>96967665Wtf GW made chocolate elf women minis? I love overpriced plastic now!?!
>>96960846The oldest attestation for Elves is actually in Pre-Norman England, we're not 100% where the myths originate but given that it's almost certainly from the PIE for White (Albh) we can guess that it actually originated in Central Europe. Now for a theory: As they are essentially a discrete race who are older than "men" and live in the forest it's a pretty good guess that when the Aryans migrated Westwards from the Ukraine this was a term applied to the people they displaced, who were largely European Farmers and such, who survived for some time in the areas which could not be easily invaded with chariots (dense woodland areas, hills, mountains etc) and came to take on a mythological quality. This is further supported by the fact that people have been calling stone arrowheads elfshot since remote antiquity. Since the European Farm cultures were in fact stone age, this would mean that this was not merely superstition, but in fact a forgotten artifact of early European ethnic conflict. The newcomers still remember that those really pale forest dudes kept shooting stone arrows at them 5000 years ago.
>>96969731That makes a lot of sense given the other myths about people intermixing with elves, changelings and how in some nordic cultures elves were almost seen as something akin to ancestor spirits etc.
>>96969748>the other myths about people intermixing with elvesThat's incredibly rare.
>>96969731My memory might be foggy but I remember romans wrote about "paleskins" - a race of very primitive people who settled in the woods and were distinctly different from celts? Again, i've read this years ago so I may have mixed it up with something...
>>96969766One of the stories that inspired Tolkien, King of Elf land, revolves entirely around a human man marrying an elf woman. And their son being a shitty ruler.
>>96969748>other myths about people intermixing with elvesI recall two accounts from germanic myths.>changelings That's more like using unknown evils from the forests as scapegoats for when your wife wasn't loyal.>nordic cultures elves were almost seen as something akin to ancestor spiritsThat seems to be more based around the idea of elves being a class of gods or demigods, as they resided together with Freyr in Alfheimr. There is also the idea that elves belonged to the Vanir and thus a different type of gods that the nordic people had contact with via people of the east. No, it's a cool theory that elves were based on the indigenous european people. Not gonna debate that. But there are also theories and interpretations on their origins.>>96969784That's a fantasy book.
Reminded that the people that first settled scandinavia as the ice sheet melted were dark skinned and thus delicious brown elves are historically accurate
It always pivots back to this garbage.
>>96941769why is chud there hes harshing the heckin' wholesome vibes
>wholesome
>>96969731So Elves are pre-Pontic-Caspian migration European marsh people and the Humans are Proto-Scythic/Alan horse tribes. Nifty, where do Dwarves fit in?
>>96969843>where do Dwarves fit in?In the mountains
>>96966540Wood elves are best elves.
>>96969789It's very frustrating that writing came along so late in history, I keep hoping they'll find a bog full of clay tablets from some Akkadian explorer who collected all the lore of ancient Europe but the odds on that one are pretty long.
>>96969813Noldorfag representation
>>96969512you could always paint them anyway you want friendo
>>96969789>No, it's a cool theory that elves were based on the indigenous european people. Not gonna debate that. But there are also theories and interpretations on their origins.I don't think its real, but also 13th warrior style indigenous cave people existing in the mountains as a seperate tribe always seemed really cool to me conceptually. As a kid, like 5th grade, I read this frankly way too adult book about mankind discovering habitable cave systems with an entirely new ecosystem beneath the earth (yes I know not the most original concept but it was well written) and was told through the dual lens of corporate exploitation of a new place to extract resources from and the human cost on both humans and the cave men who lived there. There was more than one rape scene if I remember correctly and a lethal STD that humans could catch. It wasn't a horny book series by any means, it was played completely seriously.Imagining ancient peoples living near more advanced tribes like the vikings, I can't help but think they would be exploited and eventually destroyed. Humans do not coexist very well.
>>96970211I like the way that one witch elf was painted. Good guides for painting dark skin like that?
>>96942540god I want them to show off the new Yriel model already
>>96970234>Imagining ancient peoples living near more advanced tribes like the vikingsI mean that's just northern Scandinavia, Finland and most of the Baltic coast at that time period (Germans hadn't colonized as much of it yet)
>>96970234>mankind discovering habitable cave systems with an entirely new ecosystem beneath the earthsomeone should write this, but the cave system is a portal to the dark elf realm of BelowUnlit. Keep the rape.
>>96969748>people intermixing with elvesUughnnn... yes...
>>96971840The Elf population must be kept pure, otherwise the Santa situation will become very dire very quickly.
>>96972258Santa breeding program for elven pedigree standards>Technically half elves can give birth to full elves >Some elves have blue eyes and blue isn't actually a normal eye color for elves, indicating human ancestry>and the reason there aren't more elves is because Corellon is a bitch who doesn't want to make more elven soulsAlso there were at least two quarter- humans in the books (who were considered fully Drow+ Vhaeraun supporting mixed race relations) >Technically neither Vhaeraun nor Eilistraee are technically fully Drow either, but it is kind of complicated
>>96972605>>Technically neither Vhaeraun nor Eilistraee are technically fully Drow either, but it is kind of complicatedwouldn't they be cursed together with Lolth into becoming drow?
>>96971840you wouldn't let a ample-bosomed wood elf turn your lineage pointy-eared for the rest of time, right?
we could really do with more games that feature elves in space
>>96973824So there are more games that you'll never play?
>>96973824
>>96973900I really like dire avengers they are my fav aspect
>>96973214*Weren'tAnd yes, which is kind of screwed up when you think about itI get Vhaeraun, but Eilistraee was tricked by her mom it didn't seem fairWith parents like these, who needs enemies?
>>96973853mating press smug dunmer girls
>>96971840>>96973396Why would an Elf as cute as her be into a human?
>>96976393She needs fertilizer for the trees and humans are plentiful so when a few go missing nobody will care>Pretty sure wood elves also eat people, or an I mixing that up with elder scrolls?
>>96976456>Human FertilizerHumans are pretty bad at that unless they're fertilizing the elves themselves.
>>96976393She would be into gigachad humans that have the credibility to riz up elf girls
>>96976613I hope you are aware that Galadriel has an elfen husband. Who is the actual king.
>>96976503If you'd know anything instead of just jerking off your be aware that wood elves canonically murder humans for exactly that purpose>>96976629Ignore that anon, clearly all the shit isekai and hentai had rotted the cum stained brain of his, not that he's ever done anything with it as his head is clearly only there so it wouldn't rain into his neck
>>96976629You implying a coomer reads?
>>96976642>Ignore that anonNah, this micro rant was always brewing inside me. The LotR movies are wonderful for many reasons, but there are also a lot of things that they change around or emphasize more than the books did for mass appeal. Arwen is one thing, the romance with Aragorn was not such a huge deal in the books. One could argue that cutting out Glorfindel was a good thing, he was already confusing enough in the books. But then the movies also really sidelined Celeborn. Galadriel was always some kind of Sue, even for Tolkiens standards. In Tolkiens books, Celeborn at least had many lines as well, and appeared as an equal next to Galadriel. They were often shown together, planning, discussing, with each other and the fellowship. In the movies - maybe two lines (outside of the extended edition). Don't know if they even said his name.Fuck, did he even show up in the Hobbit trilogy? Galadriel sure did.The point of this rant? The "elves are ruled by an elf queen" is such a dumb cliche, and shows how incestuous these memes can get. The movies might really contributed to that. Especially in anime and manga I've seen enough elf realms (there is always exactly one) ruled by a singular elf queen. No question asked about succession, no spouse, no consort, of course no king. And I fear the movies contributed to that.
>>96976687What's your problem with elf queens? Got a problem with women in leadership positions chud?
